I heard that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I'm no Betty Crocker, so I decided to engage the resouces of Tiff's Treats.

I think it worked.

Yeah, it's more expensive than cookies I could make myself, but they're good, and Tiff's can package them attractively and deliver on short notice.  If you sign up on the website, you'll get coupons and specials every week, making Tiff's a cost-effective and thoughtful choice when you want to surprise a friend with some delicious treats.

Why send flowers when you can send warm, gooey, fresh-from-the-oven cookies?

I was trying to think of something fun I could do for a certain someone who had recently received some good news. Home delivered cookies! Not only are they delivered, but melt in your mouth yummy! It made a happy day even happier.

On this occasion, I ordered chocolate chip, sugar and butterscotch. Oh, the butterscotch, you might be my favorite.

They were delivered within a couple hours of my order, and I had the option of adding a balloon. Because, who doesn't like to see a grown man walking around with a balloon?

Cookies. So delicious. In my mouth.

My love of their spectacular cookies (and brownies!) has evolved from the freshman who would order a dozen for myself and one other person to ordering dozens for coworkers and friends [even from out of town].

Always helpful staff even when I'm confused about delivery areas: the downtown location doesn't deliver to downtown? Transferred me to the campus store. Simple enough.

Delivery is always prompt or earlier than expected [I actually ordered some way in advance and needed them delivered at a specific time and they were early!]

Delicious, not so nutritious treats.

Tiff's contributed to my freshman 15, so beware.

They deliver to lots of different areas of Austin, and recently expanded their delivery area with the addition of a North Austin location. Delivery to dorms, businesses, etcetera.

Though they recommend ordering ahead, if you get a last minute craving or idea to surprise friends with a dozen cookies, there's a good bet they have that many sitting in the little glass thing in the store and will warm them up for you.

My favorite is the White Chocolate Almond.

I love, love, LOVE Tiff's Treats. When I lived in Austin, we'd have them delivered to our office just because. If I ever wanted to entice my employees into a meeting, I'd have Tiff's delivered.

They arrive nice and hot and oh so gooey. My faves are the chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. They're really buttery but that's what makes them so divine. And the delivery time is spot-on. You can order online ahead of time and the delivery guys do a good job of being punctual.

They keep adding to their menu and I think that's fantastic. I really , really wish I still lived there so I could keep trying them out.

Tiff's has really banked on a solid business model--delicious cookies at a reasonable price. Kudos to these former biz school grads. Now if they'd only expand to Houston...

ohhh Tiff's how i love thee!!!
All i need to say is how can anyone not love a great cookie place that delivers!!!
Ive tried all of there cookies and they are great.
This place is great when your having a bad day at work and just order some cookies and you will feel way better.
One time i accidentally left my cookies in the brake room at my old office job, and my jerk boss (who looked like george bush) ate all my cookies (which were hidden on top of the frig) so i quit...nobody messes with my cookies :)

OK how often can you get cookies delivered to you?

Better yet how often are so good you eat the whole box without sharing?

Well Tiff's Treat is the answer.

Their snickerdoodle is the best thing ever.

I love the concept of freshly baked warm cookies delivered to your home or office.  I recently celebrated a birthday and my friend's totally surprised me with a  huge box of Tiff's delivered to me at work.  A couple of dozen of cookies and two pints of milk made me the hit of the office.  The cookies tasted homemade (though I still make better says my ego).  A co-worker recently sent some to her daughter's classroom for a birthday treat and she is now the most popular kid in school.

seriously, the gooiest, best, warmest cookies EVER!!! better even than when you make them at home and take them out of the oven and immediately pig out...

i can't believe i haven't reviewed them yet! we get them at work for meetings and birthdays every once in a while...when I first started working here, one of the girls would buy like 3 dozen once a week for all of us to munch on. i think my favorite is the chocolate chip....but the peanut butter and the snickerdoodle are amazing as well. fantastic gifts...and they will even deliver it with MILK (if you're into that sort of thing... :)

I had my first Tiff's Treats cookies. I don't understand why people like them. They taste like they're made with coconut oil instead of butter. They have about zero flavor. Am I the only one who thinks this way? I feel lonely...

75 cents a cookie if you don't buy it by the dozen - they have the norm flavors - I always stop by for my standard white chocolate. Over time it seemed to evolved though. I walked in for a white chocolate. Then I eventually got two, thinking one was never enough. Then thought "let's throw some ice cream on this baby" and made it the TiffWich - your choice of two cookies with vanilla ice cream slapped in between.
Oh Tiff, please give me back my freshmen 15.
Sophomore 10 and Junior 5 too, if you will.
How I loathe you.

Tiff's Treats is an Austin original!

Great cookies, great service, and easy ordering. Their website is easy to use and their cookies are fantatsic. What more could you ask for?

I use these guys all the time and hey always do a great job. I love to send gifts and I believe strongly in supporting local merchants. This is a great match for me and I HIGHLY recommend their service.

I would give Tiff's Treats 3 1/2 stars. I do like them, but I wouldn't go and buy any unless I was buying them as a gift. They aren't as good as Tollhouse cookies made from scratch, in my opinion.

I've had experienced Tiff's Treats on two occasions - both of which they were sent to me for an event (birthday).  They called me beforehand to make sure I would be home during a specific timeframe, and the delivery came on time.

I couldn't believe how good and fresh the cookies were - I was like OMG - thank YOU!  I got to try their white chocolate, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, chocolate w/ nuts, M&M's, and snickerdoodles.  All of them were so awesome that I felt like I was in a Lay's Potato Chip commercial - - can't eat just one.  They were truly some of the best cookies I ever had, and they came to my house on time and still warm from the oven!

So take it from someone who's been on the receiving end of Tiff's Treats - - it's definitely a great gift for someone if you're looking for something different than the usual.

O yes! I love it when my room-mate gets a box of these! Chocolate chip is by far the best. Just nom nom nom on those things.

The 'monster' or m&m cookie did taste like dookie the last time we got them. Other than that, I'm a fan.

They deliver too, so how can't they get more than 3 stars?!

Best Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!  They are soft and chewy in the middle with great flavor.
I have looked everywhere for good oatmeal raisin cookies and so far Tiff's Treats is the best!  My boyfriend likes the snickerdoodles and chocolate chip. The sugar cookies and brownies are great as well.
Plus any place that delivers cookies hot out of the oven and straight to my door is a dream come true!

original review (1-star):

they taste exactly like the pillsbury or nestle refrigerated cookie dough cookies you can buy from the grocery store. why can't anybody else see it??

new review pending...

from leon chen himself:

Hi Terry, thanks for your review.  We're sorry you were not a fan and were wondering if you tried our cookies hot from the oven or if you bought them as a walk-in customer.  Would also like to know what flavor you tried, any info would help us know where we can improve.

Our cookies are made from scratch every single day and we only use premium ingredients.  If the dough is ever refrigerated, it's for hours at most, so they are indeed made very differently than any store-bought cookie.  We do however, aim to keep our cookie recipes simple and of a "homemade" taste and really shy away from trying to "re-invent" the cookie.

However rare it is for us to get such a negative rating, we actually appreciate it and can possibly improve from it more than the 5 star ratings we get.  Any input from you would be of great help and we would love for you to perhaps give us another chance and pre-order a couple dozen for pick-up, fresh from the oven.

In no way are we asking you to change your review, because of your past reviews of many other restaurants, we trust that you are reviewing in good faith and would just like for you to give us another chance to perhaps impress you a little better this time.

If interested in a couple of dozen cookies free, message me back 4 flavors of your choice and what time and date you would like to pick up the cookies.

Thanks,

Leon Chen
Founder, Tiff's Treats

my response:

thank you for your response. as successful as your business is, however, i really didn't think my criticism warranted an apology from you--but i certainly do appreciate your concern. you've obviously done a quite a good job at catering to the masses--all the while making a name for yourselves--so you should be proud of your establishment.

no offense to your or your staff, but i simply am not a fan of your cookies. i've had them on multiple occasions, hot, warm, room temperature; chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles, and peanut butter and they just don't appeal to my palate. moreover, i'm less concerned about  your baking process and the quality of your ingredients than i am about the taste of your final product. in the end, your cookies still taste like store-bought and, as you can see from your reviews on yelp, others share my perspective.

my initial review was based on the likelihood that i would return to your establishment to spend my hard-earned money. in your case, because i can see your effort and genuine concern, i am going to give your cookies another chance and am raising your rating to neutral until then.

-terry

I gave Tiff's another try on Friday evening, and even shared with my kiddos again, as well as another trusted palate.
All of us agreed that they just aren't that great.
Out of all of them, we did agree the sugar cookies were best, but I just can't bring myself to say that I love or even really like them all that much.
I am, however, glad that they are loved as much as they are due to them being a locally owned business.  (I am all for supporting local businesses and want the "Mom and Pop" shops to thrive in this day and age.
I wish them continued success!

Half-decent cookies for an OK price. They don't cool off well, and my pick-up service was so slow that the cookies weren't particularly warm anymore by the time I got out of there. A Tiffwich with stale chocolate chip cookies was not good, and the markup was obscene on a pint of Blue Bell that for whatever reason took 5 minutes to find and put in a bag for me. I definitely won't bother with pickup again--there are numerous vastly superior dessert bakeries around--but if I were in the delivery area I might consider getting them delivered for a meeting or something like that.

Cookies are pretty good, and it makes a great delivery to send to someone to let them know you are thinking of them....and if you send them to an office, you are officially everyone in that offices new favorite person.  They even send little miniature plastic jugs of milk, so cute. (i dont even like milk that much, but I drink it because its good with cookies, and that little bitty jug is so cute)

Also, if you ever get the opportunity to stop in, get a tiff-wich, the messiest deliciousness ever!

Tiff's is such a wonderful UT institution. I went to UT for my Bachelor's, and now I work at UT for an academic department, so I've been familiar with their game for some time. If you're new to the rules, it's ordering cookies kind of like one orders a pizza. Call them, describe the cookies of your desires, around an hour later, they arrive at your door, ooey gooey and warm (the cookies, not the people).

Our department is a big one, and we have these guest lectures several times a week, at which we need to provide a fun little snack for the attendees. Naturally, Tiff's cookies have become the favorite. During the non-summer semesters, they deliver to us three times a week or so, and hardly ever mess up. That's saying something, considering the volume of orders they handle. One time they misplaced my order for 4 dozen cookies for a big meeting. I called when they were running 15 minutes late, and they guy I spoke to was so super helpful - he dropped everything else he was doing, grabbed the next 4 dozen cookies coming out of the oven, grabbed the next driver coming in, and made it come together in the nick of time. The cookies themselves are delicious, but simple. Good ol' fashioned chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, peanut butter, white chocolate almond, etc. Not to be overlooked, they also have insanely scrumptious brownies that are huge, heavy, moist, but a little cakey, chocolaty, warm, pretty much excellent in every way and make sweet love to your tongue. Very underappreciated. Their prices are also good ($6-7ish for a dozen delivered), and you can use them for fun little things like sending a dozen cookies to a friend/significant other at work for her birthday on a whim (They'll include personalized messages with the box if you ask). Delivery area is restricted to downtown and campus area. Student? Not to be missed as a study group companion. Hooray for the yummy!

For a while now, those yellow logs of cookie dough from HEB have been my saving grace. Don't judge me. I'm stressed out right now, ok? Why the logs? Ok see,  I usually consider myself to be a fairly good cook, but recently I've been having some issues with cookies. They just, well, they just aren't turning out. So I've been turning to the logs. Until recently that is.
I got a little box of these the other day, and I was immediately reminded of how OH MY GOD good these are. I know, I know, I don't know how it slipped my mind, but it did. So sue me. Anyways, these cookies were so good, that I immediately sent my own packages out to a few friends. Lucky bastards.

There's something about a warm batch of cookies and ice cold (soy) milk that just can't be beat. The convenience of Tiff's means I may need to return to elastic waist pants.

Okay, so I'm hesitant to write all this out b/c I'd hate for people to purposefully write bad reviews in the hopes of getting something out of it -- but one thing I love about Yelp is how real all the reviews come across (I mean, I know I'm real).

So in the interest of full disclosure: Leon C. with Tiff's Treats contacted me re: my review (below), apologizing for my dissatisfaction, and offered to try to make it up with some free cookies, specifically saying "not trying to entice you to change your review" -- How could I turn them down, given the hugeness of my past love for Tiff's?  I know, I'm like a puppy, but I'm also a huge fan of good customer service, b/c -- though I know that I gave my all when I was in the service industry, gosh darn that's too rare a thing these days.

So we arranged for me to pick some up, and I kinda dropped the ball on that exchange -- but when I finally made it, the box was hot.  The cookies were exactly as I remembered -- perfect coloring, perfect texture; I shared them with my office, and everybody loved them (and, might I add, some newbies are now likely to be going by, Tiff's, so watch out).

Still, straight up honesty: (1) the oatmeal raisin cookies blew me away.  I wouldn't say that I hated OR cookies before (b/c hello, look what I nicknamed myself), but jeez, these had me rethinking my inclination to pass any offer of these. (2) chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, white chocolate macedamia, all delish. But (3) the peanut butter -- lacking PBness for me.  In all feel and looks, it was a beautiful, perfect cookie.  But more PB for me, please.

Thanks Tiff's, for reaching out to me!  A couple more repeats of this quality, and I'm thinking solid 5 in no time.

My company gets boxes of Tiff's Treats delivered to us occasionally - sometimes they come from PR firms, sometimes they come from vendors - honestly, I don't care where they come from because they're free!

And I like free things - especially when they contain copious amounts of chocolate and sugar. Who would pass up free cookies?

Ooh la la -- these cookies kick ass! They have a great selection of different flavors. They're warm, chewy, and delectable. The price is pretty good too, if you're taking out. Otherwise delivery could cost the same as the cost of your order. I picked these up to best utilize my $15 gift certificate (courtesy of Austin Monthly magazine after purchasing a one-year subscription). It's a small place, standing room only, but since cookies are easily portable and can be eaten anywhere, that's no problem. You can also get ice cream and milk delivered with your order. Definitely give this place a try -- you won't be disappointed.

I have the amazing privilege of being able to live in an apartment on the same block as this store. The aromas that come from this cookie bakery are almost as good as the cookies themselves. Fresh made Tiff Wiches (ice cream sandwiches made from fresh cookies of your choice and Blue Bell) are some of the most amazing, simple desserts I've ever had.

They also have a constant stream of customers, but the workers there are always very friendly. One night I saw consecutive Hummer-limos pull up and entire sororities mob the place, taking pictures and chatting it up like sorority girls, before disappearing into the night. I guess it's now a stop on the initiation ritual?

I was giving a talk to a small group of 'experts' known for tearing people to shreds. I started the meeting off by placing a box of Tiff's cookies on the table. Soft, warm, chewy chocolate chip; snickerdoodle; and my personal fave- Pean-nutt Butt-er.

My talk went well; and the cookies were a hit too. Let's just say ALL the feedback was very positive. And there were even some cookies left over for me.

On time delivery. Baked to order. And plenty of goods on the menu (brownies, ice cream, milk). Makes a great gift too. Gents: forget the flowers, send her a box of Tiff's.

Materials and Methods.  My first Exam to become a registered Architect.  Sister in Seattle knows what I like when I have been stressed to the gills for 3 weeks.  Freshly baked (and HOT!) chocolate chip and M & M cookies delivered to my front door 15 minutes after I arrive home from said exam.  Illegal in 49 states.  I passed (out.)

My Sweetie will be out of town this Valentine's so I need to "Sweet Treat" myself, so to speak.  I am going to see if they will deliver 5 pounds of fresh chocolate chip cookie dough.   That and a growler of Amber beer from Billy Bob's and I am ready for some lovin'.

What a sweet surprise! A colleague just received a delivery of one dozen of these chewy cookies from her husband, and the cookies were still warm and gooey. Lucky for me, she was in a sharing mood. The cookies aren't complicated and are reminiscent of a Betty Crocker or Tollhouse recipe. The simplicity was part of the appeal, I think. Certainly, a great apology idea. Less dramatic than flowers but still thoughtful enough to be forgiven.

I used to work in the UT tower. Whenever I had a cookie craving, me and a coworker or two would go in on a dozen cookies (snickerdoodle being my personal favorite). We'd order them up, and start devouring them as soon as they came to the front office. We'd always split the remaining cookies (if there were any) amongst ourselves and took them home.

One day, one of my twenty bosses asked if she could have one. I said "sure". Then she sent an email to everyone in the office, "Hey, she has cookies in her cube! Come get them!"

I quit that job a year ago and I'm never looking back.

In an office full of sugarholics, I am known as the resident cookie monster. In fact, I think if you cut me, sugar would run out instead of blood. So, when we've had an especially long day at the office and are feeling low, we call Tiff's to the rescue.

This place is the bees knees, with its delivery offerings of warm, chewy goodness in the taste of chocolate, peanut butter, and even butterscotch (my favorite!). So delicious! So warm! So delivered! I think this is the best part about it -- you can find a good cookie just about anywhere. But a good cookie is not delivered, bow-covered box and all, right to my doorstep (or worksteps), unless it's from Tiff's.

I just wish they were open for those late-night cravings when I am in no shape to drive or be seen in my pajamas......................I'm just sayin'.
