Lunch buffet. Do it.
Don't get me wrong, the dinners are great too. And the staff is so friendly and nice.
But endless momos, saag paneer, naan, and their delicious lentil soup... Especially the momos. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. It's a favorite for weekend lunch. -

I wish I could have given Tibet's 4 or five stars, I did have a very enjoyable lunch there this week, however I have a problem with places that serve day old chicken. To me, as a former restaurant owner and avid entertainer, is a felony.
I went for their buffet with my boyfriend this week and found the restaurant busy and booming with people, great sign. The buffet at $9.00 per person is extremely reasonable for what they offer.
The ambiance is casual yet charming, decor is tasteful and place is spacious, no one is too close to you so it injects a bit of intimacy into your experience. Greeter very friendly as well. OK the food. Daal soup was good not very impressed with the egg drop soup...just wasn't very flavorful. The Saag or palak, not sure what they call it but the spinach was my favorite item in all of the buffet. It was fresh, and flavorful and delicious with the piping hot naan. They use fresh mushrooms in the mushrooms and peas vegetable dish which is impressive. The Tofu and potatoes didn't have any potatoes, which i didn't mind ata all, and came in a pleasantly mild and creamy sauce. This is the same sauce they use in the chicken tikka masala, but here is where my biggest objection lies. The chicken was clearly cooked separately and although it was abundant, it was not cooked that morning. The chicken had a "Day Old" taste to it, which I did not enjoy. The spicy beef was pretty good, although this too had a bit of an after taste as if it too had been cooked the night prior.
The chick peas or cholay were pretty good, as were the samosas. I didn't try any of the desserts or raita or side dishes or chutneys so can not comment on them. I will likely go back here. I will probably opt for the dishes I know I like. -

The hubby and I love this kind of food. We were anything but impressed with the lunch buffet.
All of the food tasted very bland. The only thing we did like was the naan.
The staff was very nice, the food not so much. -

Wow! This is a winner. The first time I have given five stars.
We arrived 12 mins before they opened at 1700 and they let us in (it was 5f outside) and allowed us to seat ourselves. Great decor and friendly. Informal.
As a flight crew we get to try food everywhere (not necessarily a good thing) so we thought we would add another experience tobthe list. My partner is a little less adventuresome than I, but he wad game.

Like others, I, too, love the buffet. It's a MUCH better value than their dinner where you get less selection, but you pay more. I love that the buffet is not a smorgasbord of mediocre dishes (think Hometown Buffet or Fresh Choice where there are like 50 items), but the dishes that are there, are high quality.
My faves: saag, naan, momos (dumplings), tikka masala (w/ tofu)
My 5 year old son also loves Tibet's. When he was younger, he liked the water feature too. He likes their noodles, naan and momos.
When I'm at Tibet's, I eat like it's Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I am then too stuffed to be productive for the rest of the day. I have family members who live in the food capitals of New York and California, who eat here whenever they're in town (sometimes 2x in one short trip).
Granted, the food is not heavily spiced -- but I think it's still flavorful and delicious. If you like your food heavily spiced, you should patronize other Indian/Nepalese types of places.
As far as the atmosphere and service -- both are pleasant and congenial. My son and I enjoy looking at the Tibetan artifacts and talking about them. The staff are always friendly and kind -- no, they are not super-duper attentive, but I don't need that in a buffet setting. And I like my space.
Anyway, I'm getting hungry just thinking about Tibet's -- perhaps my coworkers will want to go with me soon... -

I was hopeful. Really, I was. The reviews looked good and I had heard a couple people say nice things. Again, I was hopeful... and in the end I was totally disappointed.
The first thing that struck me was that even though the place was empty when we arrived at 6 pm on a Monday night, we stood at the entrance for several minutes before anyone greeted us-and that was a delivery driver headed out the door. Finally the manager came out from behind the bar and said hello. He did not even bother to walk all the way over to us but rather hollered for us to follow him.
We chose to sit inside and were quite pleased with the lovely atmosphere. Very bright and comfortable. They had a few children's books for us to look at even though I had to go get them from the front-they were not offered.
It took several minutes for our server to come by. Keep in mind that there was only one other table of guests. I ordered ice tea which was the nasty commercial kind from the soda machine. I opted for water. The complimentary papadams were very good! Light, crisp and almost buttery in texture. My whole family enjoyed them. The four chutneys they came with were not the best, but were okay.
Because we are gluten free we opted for more traditional Nepalese dishes rather than trying the noodles that I had read such positive reviews about. I opted for a shrimp vindaloo, one of my favorites and my husband went for something new to us-the Jal Frezi with chicken. For our children we ordered chicken pakora as their meal.
The pakora came out quickly even though we ordered it as a meal. It was fresh and hot but its only distinct flavor was that of old grease. My kids were starving and ate it anyway.
When our dishes finally came I was surprised by the lack of presentation. The soup, rice and entree were all in white bowls, crowded on a white plate. The vindaloo looked rather unappetizing to begin with - chunks floating in an orange goop. The sauce was certainly spicy hot but had no real complexity and tasted like canned tomato sauce with some cayenne or something tossed in. The potatoes were mushy and the shrimp had the texture of pencil erasers. The soup was under seasoned as well. I wanted to send it back but our server did not come back to ask how the food was (another server had delivered it to our table).
The menu boasts that the Jal Frezi is suppose to be "spiced with cumin, garlic ginger, and coconut in a tomato onion cream sauce" but the only "flavor" was that of overly sweet coconut and canned tomato soup that the bland chicken was swimming in. My husband decided to salt the heck out of it go for it anyway as we were short on time and very hungry. He did note, "I have never had to salt Indian food like this."
Finally my husband flagged down a busser and we sent my dish back. With no apology they took the Vindaloo only, leaving the rice and soup to get cold on the plate. I asked for the Mushroom Mutter with chicken instead. Several minutes later it arrived, again with no apology and in fact our server never even asked what the problem had been or how I liked my new dish. The manager did not stop by either which I would expect when someone send a dish back.
Unfortunately, the Mutter was pretty awful too! It consisted of 4 small pieces of overcooked bland chicken and a half dozen slices of mushroom swimming in the EXACT SAME SAUCE as my husbands entree. There was NO flavor difference at all!!! Frustrated and hungry I picked out the chicken, ate it with my cold rice and we prepared to leave.
It took another 5+ minutes for someone to take our dirty dishes and tired of waiting I went ahead and packed up the kids while my husband waited for the bill. I had the kids strapped in the car and complaining that they were still hungry before my husband even got the bill! We drove away feeling downright angry and disgusted by the lack of service and the horrible food.
It is a shame that such a lovely restaurant featuring beautiful artwork would offer such terrible fare. The fact is, all the Tibetan Prayer flags in the world cannot make up for the complete lack of intention and attention... We will not be back! -

Tibetan cuisine is a cross between Chinese and Indian. I tried the Tenthuk which is a Tibetan stew served in a large bowl with vegetables, potatoes, homemade wheat dough all cooked in a curried broth and a side of naan. The broth flavors and naan are obvious Indian influences. Serving everything in a large soup bowl reminds me of the Chinese soups.
This is a rather large portion which could probably serve two people with a second side of naan and maybe an appetizer. -

I've eaten here several times and really enjoy the buffet at lunch. They have their staples and when it comes to eating here, you can't beat them.
As a full fledged carnivore, I can't believe the first two things I'm going to tell you about are vegetables. I don't know their specific names, but the creamy spinach and the garbanzo beans are awesome. I load up with these and then the meat dishes become the garnish. The naan is pretty basic, but a good accent to the tofu tikka masala - I know, another non-meat dish - and chicken tikka masala. I'm not sure what the spicy beef dish is called, but it's spicy. I've been with friends on more than one occasion who couldn't handle the heat.
I would give this a higher rating, but the thing that holds it back are the dinner prices. I struggle to eat the same things for dinner at $10-$12/dish that I had a whole selection at lunch for less than $10.
I like this place, but will only go here for the lunch buffet. -

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. A very calming place to be. I have been for dinner at least 10 times and for the lunch buffet probably 5 times. The buffet is stocked with some of the best items. The saag is always excellent as well as the Tika Masala. The naan also get a thumbs up!
I only have a few minor negatives about the place. None of which are enough not for me to love this place.
The food is not spicy at all. You can get red pepper to add.
The dinner prices are between $10-$15. A bit on the pricey side when you can get the buffet for around $10.
I enjoy the laid back atmosphere, but it is good not to be in a hurry.
I have had approx. 1/2 of the menu items and have enjoyed them all. Recently my wife and I have been splitting the Potala Sampler. Which is a combination of Lamb curry, Saag, & Chicken Tikka Masala and served with naan & Kir. At $19.50 it is a good meal.
The appetizer "crackers" which are called Papadams are very good. They are served with 4 different sauces and are nice addition at no cost.

I appreciate the buffet here because they seem to stick to what they're good at cooking, and don't try to overstock the buffet with 'staples' just because they feel they should.
That said, I really wish they would see fit to use a spice (see also: India's Clay Oven). This place isn't Indian - it's Tibetan/Nepalese - but it suffers from the same underspicing problem. I understand that we are in Louisville here, and buffets are meant to please everyone - but couldn't we just have a few spicy dishes? Or some serve-yourself spicy sauces?
My favorite was definitely the momos, with liberally poured orange sauce, followed by the saag and any chicken dish. They know how to not overcook chicken, which is a gigantic plus with me. I could have eaten a buffet entirely consisting of momos easily.
Skip the rice pudding, or else dump the whole container of cinnamon on it. It needs it. -

Imagine my luck. A few former staff members at my favorite restaurant in metro Denver (Sherpa's Adventurers in Boulder) have opened a restaurant. In Louisville of all places! While they are not directly affiliated with Sherpa's, the menu is nearly identical and the quality of food is on par. I would say the service is a notch above Sherpa's. In addition, they have a fabulous lunch buffet every day ($8.95), which is worth the drive from Denver in and of itself.
To those of you seeking traditional Indian food like you would find at most restaurants around Denver, you will not find that style of cooking here. The style here is based on a Tibetan/Nepalese preparation, which lends a lighter, fresher taste to the dishes. You will find the traditional dishes (tikka, saag, daal, tandoori, etc) but you will notice a difference in the preparation.
The saag is out of this world, with a freshness that you will not believe. I've sampled a variety of the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is slower paced, which is the tradition in indian dining. The staff could not be more friendly or accommodating of special requests and the atmosphere is lovely. The only drawback of the restaurant is the patio area. It is small and is surrounded by patio dining for the adjacent restaurants (DQ, Spicy Pickly, Chipotle) so it is not nearly as serene as the patio at Sherpa's.
To sum it up, the food and the service are top notch, the atmosphere leaves little to be desired, and the prices are very reasonable. -

I have found nirvana... in Louisville.
The fam and I went for lunch at Tibet's yesterday on a friend's recommendation, and boy, am I glad we did. The interior can be described as Buddha meets Broomfield. Hardwood floors and rock-encrusted walls peppered with Tibetan and Buddhist symbols thoughout. Prayer wheels, masks, scrolls and a tranquil waterfall feature all working together to create a, dare I say it, "zen-like" atmosphere.
After being seated and ordering a "Good Karma" beer (hey, what can I say, I need all the help I can get), we were brought a basket of papadam with four dipping sauces (including mint chutney, cucumber raita, mango chutney and a fourth I couldn't identify). We ordered an appetizer of saag dig (creamed spinach) with naan (flatbread cooked in the tandoori oven). Now, I'm not normally a big fan of cooked spinach, but oh_my_Dalai_Lama, this was the best spinach I've ever had. Mild, smooth, and totally delicious. And the portion was HUGE! We ate like a couple of ravenous yaks, and still had plenty to bring home. The naan was also cooked perfectly, with a flawless match of both crunchy and chewy.
Since I'd never had Tibetan food before, I skipped the more Indian-centric offerings and went for a Momo platter which included 8 dumplings (I chose a mix of veggie and beef), a cup of dahl soup, and a side salad. The salad, while beautifully presented, was totally forgettable. The dahl, on the other hand, was also an image of perfection. Hot, smooth, and exquisitely spiced. The dumplings were great. The veggie dumplings were similar to a Chinese dumpling, with cabbage, carrot and whatnot inside. Good, but not amazing. The beef dumplings, however, were out of this world. Delicate, yet hearty, with a wonderful flavor profile.
My wife got the tikka masala with lamb. It too was delicious, but I think the lamb might have been too strong of a flavor to go with the rich, creamy sauce. All in all, the meal was fantastic, and it's obvious that the chef executes an uncommon skill to the food that he puts out.
We'll definitely be back, and I encourage others to make the trek to Tibet's. You'll leave with with a full belly and a cleansed soul.

A taste of the Himalayas in Denver!!
Why do I love yelp so much?! ....because of finds like Tibet's restaurant! The owner who is from the region of Tibet / Nepal, has successfully transformed his restaurant into a small nirvana. The space is warm, filled with art, photographs, and Buddha's from the Himalayas. One easily forgets they are in a strip mall in Louisville. There is a small, waiting area filled with art and travel books. Upon entering, I am quickly greeted with a warm smile. The servers are friendly and inviting. Willing to help sort through the many selections.
Now the good stuff.... the Unforgettable, Amazing Food.
One bite of a momo and I'm back at 1700 feet trekking in the Indian Himalayas. The veggie momos are excellent... subtle yet flavorful.... not in the least greasy. A perfect combination of veggies and spices. For my entree I ordered Thenthuk Stew. Words can not begin to describe how good this dish was. A huge, steaming bowl of stew filled with tofu, an assortment of fresh veggies, potatoes, and wheat bread. A side of naan accompanies it! This place really is nirvana!
Tibet's Restaurant & Bar offers authentic Tibetan and Indian cuisine that is not to be missed. I'm ready to move to Denver just to eat here weekly! I'll be back to Denver soon and my first stop will be Tashi Delek's Tibet's Restaurant!!!

Wow! This place is fantastic. You can have Indian cuisine or Tibetan. The restaurant itself is beautiful and filled with plenty of Eastern delights. And it smells delicious in there!!!
The staff was friendly, although a bit aloof.
We all tried items off the Tibetan menu, but were heavily tempted by all the other items on the Indian menu. I settled on the Tibetan Noodles which were home made and served with veggies and your choice of meat. I couldn't stop eating them! It also came with a small cup of soup called Dahl soup. It was good and simple.
My friends had the Momo platter which were dumplings and he didn't even want to share a bite with his wife.
Then there was the Thenthuk which is a Stew with vegetables, potatoes, homemade wheat dough, in a flavorful broth. She had it with lamb. Now this bowl was gigantic and she had probably two meals left over to take home. Even though she ate all she could it looked like she had barely ate any the bowl was soo freaking big.
I would love to come hear for a their lunch buffet so I can try bites of everything.Listed in: *Bling bling!*

Post-10 mi bike ride, I wanted something tasty...scanned Yelp, perused a bit and thought fall weather was probably good for spicier type food, and decided it was time to go to Tibet's again.
It's been too many months. =O
I placed a big to-go order of jal frezi chicken, garlic and cheese naan and their appetizer combo, which consisted of pakora (shrimp, chicken, veggie and panir [cheese]) and a lovely golden-brown samosa. They told me 15 minutes. I was skeptical on a Friday night, but have nothing but love and goodwill towards these good people. I got there in about 15 mins, and sat down at the bar with 2 other people who had placed to-go orders and were enjoying brews. Moderately busy for 5:45pm in small little Louisville. 2 guys said my order wasn't ready, and I nodded.
3 mins later, the wonderful waitress who came out and asked my name said "oh! your order's ready!" ...*Really*? Well, dip me in chickpea flour and Indian spices and call me pakora. :D Got it, and took off for home where some people and I were doing an online thing.
I asked for extra garlic on the naan and I got it -- not *devastating*, but it'd make any self-respecting vamp freeze in their tracks. And I've got to say in all honesty, this particular order of naan was some of the best naan I've ever had, *ever*. Very warm but not hot, buttery, tender, no burnt areas or anything, and no skimping on the ingredients. May the various Hindu deities bless you people for your naan skill!
The pakora was also quite tasty; golden-brown, not greasy, and a decent portion. I haven't devoured the perfectly fried samosa yet. The chicken is VERY tender, and generous pieces sit warmly intermingling with sliced carrots, cauliflower pieces, peas and slivered red peppers, fricasseeing in a soothing creamy and perfectly spiced tomato-onion cream sauce. OMFG, this is looking like a 5 star visit. I predict more frequent visits as the weather gets colder. SO HAPPY these folk are in my area!
*AND* they gave me a free order of dahl/lentil soup as well!! Good karma just keeps rollin around... these people are so kind. I can't say enough good things about them.
***I JUST DISCOVERED their website does NOT have all their menu items listed...for example they have about half a dozen vegetarian dishes in addition to the veggie options already listed on their website. I absolutely have no idea what else to like or hate there.
We have been to this place a few times, since its a few blocks from where I live. Sometimes the family craves restaurant Indian food, or I am too lazy to cook. [ I am human.. hello!]
My daughter Loves the Naan at this place. She is an expert eater of Naan, so I trust her.
Their dhal (pronounced as DAAL ) is good too. Its not the best there is, but trust me with so many fancy shimancy Indian restaurants almost killing me with their food, this place feels like a slice of heaven in a foodies paradise.
I like their vegetarian fare better than the non vegetarian one. -

If this is how sherpa's eat then I'm quiting my job. So far I've only tried their lunch buffet but judging from how good their buffet is I'm sure dinner is tasty.
From the tandori chicken to their saag everything was seasoned perfectly. Bottomless fresh naan bread if you're on the north beach diet.
The restaurant itself is setup pretty nice. Cool deco etc...
I really really wish I still worked down the street but if I did I'm sure I would burn myself out eventually. -

Wow. This place was worth the drive from Littleton.
We were so hungry when we arrived. As we walked through the lovely restaurant to sit outside, I was so tempted just to take food from other diners' plates- that's how good the food looked.
We started our meal with garlic and cheese naan. I had the delicious shrimp momo platter and my husband had chicken makhani. It reminded me of tandori chicken but not as heavy. His dish came with basmati rice. I prefer jasmine rice, but no big deal for us.
Both of our meals came with dahl, a delicious lentil-type soup. Yum!
Service was perfect. Attentive, but not overbearing.

I go to many different Tibetan/ Indian/ Nepali restaurants around Boulder, Littleton etc. I think that this place looks nicer than most I have been to. It is very open and clean, colorful, a lot of nice buddhist decorations.
My husband and I decided to get lunch buffet. It's a pretty good price, about $9 per person. One thing I noticed right away was that we got to choose between white and brown rice, and I like that because brown rice is healthier. I got daal, chaana, pakora, and chicken tikka masala. Chicken tikka masala is my absolute favorite kind of Indian food. There was something wrong with this one though. It was not even the right color sauce and had been made with tandoori chicken instead of white meat. Tandoori chicken is bright red color and grilled with the tandoor. If I wanted tandoori chicken i would have put that on my plate. It was like they used the left over tandoori chicken to make a new dish. Aside from that, masala sauce is supposed to be tomato based. This sauce was yellow, and didn't taste like masala sauce at all.
I got naan as well and it was plain and was not cooked correctly. Usually I love the naan but this was still very doughy , not puffed with air by the flames in the tandoor.
All of the food we got was bland, tasteless and we were both really let down by it. My husband is from Nepal and knows a lot about what is good and what is not. He was completely unappetized by it and could not finish eating. He said it is the worst he's every had. All of it tasted the same even though there was a lot of different things to choose from. The kheer was not that good either. It was very thick, did not have much cream or spices at all. We did try the kulfi, which is like icecream, and not available at a lot of other places. It is very good actually and I am glad that we got something with some flavor.
All in all I do not recommend this place for people who want tasty food. I imagine the people who like this place do not know that much about this kind of food, they don't realize that there is so much better out there. If you want recommendations for some better places please check out my list. This place isn't horrible, but if I can go somewhere nearby that is sooo much better then why wouldn't I? -

Ok so yak is confirmed to be delicious!
I stopped in at Tibets for lunch today and ordered the Thenthuk. Thenthuk is, according to the menu; "Large bowl of vegetables, potatoes, homemade wheat dough, in a flavorful broth. Served with naan"
The veggies were cauliflower and peppers and something leafy like spinach. The broth is SUPER flavorful and rich with a tomatoey background. The wheat dough is like flat dumplings, to be honest, I could take or leave those next time. You get to select your protein, so of course I had to go with Yak. Having never eaten yak before I wasn't sure what to expect, well it was very tender and with a flavor close to beef. If you've ever eaten water buffalo, you're on the right track.
I also added a garlic naan to my order and the entire thing was ready in about 10 minutes. Added bonus is that I have a full naan (came with the stew) and over half of my stew leftover for lunch tomorrow! -

Tibet's Restaurant is a special place that preserves the culture and cuisine of Tibet with delicious food and beautiful decor. The food is a blend of Indian, Nepalese and Tibetan but all made in a Tibetan style. If you expect all the bold and spicy flavors of Indian cuisine, you may be disappointed. Tibetan food is lighter and heartier at the same time, with more noodles, dairy and meat dishes made to sustain people living high in the Himalayan mountains. The best choices are the uniquely Tibetan dishes, especially the momos (steamed dumplings with vegetables or meat), noodle dishes and stews. My favorite is the Tibetan Yak Chili- think Tibetan style "fajitas" made with onions and peppers and amazing spice-rubbed local Yak meat, which is very similar to beef. The buttery naan bread is also delicious but I especially love the papadums (spiced crackers served with dipping sauces). Sooo delicious!

Overall a good dining experience. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. What I really appreciated about this place was their willingness and ability to accommodate food allergies. (Our party had three different allergies that evening: dairy, wheat, and nut. We were able to order dishes for everyone.)
I found the food tasty but a little less spicy than I expected given the similarity of the dishes to standard Indian cuisine.
Overall it is one of the better places to dine in the Louisville area. -

I am mad and generally have a rule against reviewing while mad!
1) I got charged more than their online menu stated. When your prices increase update the stupid online menu.
2) I just got home to realize they didn't give me my rice pudding I paid for.
3) their pakoras are over-cooked and greasy.
4) their vindaloo does have spice (this is what raised them to a 2 from a 1 since everyone else around here is so bland!).
5) naan is just okay.
I went last week for the buffet and was impressed so I ordered takeout today. While I will be back for my dessert or a refund and the buffet again possibly, it is scratched off my to-go list. -

Oh my, this is what your mouth will say after eating at Tibets.
The best "chips & dip". Amazing food, really clean not super oily like most Indian food. Tibet's is the place. The buffet is great $8.00 with a punch card. I recommend the Chicken Tiki, get over there already. Um Good!!! -

I can't say enough good things about Tibet's. First, the interior is lovely. You might not know that as they often have shades down to soften the afternoon light. It is bright, with floor to celing windows. There are gorgeous Tibetan imports adorning the walls. The atmosphere is friendly and warm and so are the servers.
The food was fantastic. The daal, to begin with, was outstanding. Often the little cup of daal that accompanies some Indian meals seems like an afterthough -- like parsley or steamed carrots. Not so, here. It is rich with flavor with a full texture. I liked it so much that I got a second cup.
We also ordered chicken momos which are Tibetan pot stickers, and Tibetan noodles. The noodles were very good although they could have had a slightly more full flavor. The momos were the best I've had in a very long time. The filling was moist and soft and really flavorful. The tomato chutney it came with was fantastic -- slightly spicy but creamy and didn't overpower the momos.
Garlic naan came out hot, fluffy and very very garlicky.
Service was kind, attentive and very friendly. Best of all, it all came to under $15 per person.
If you don't live in Louisville, make this your excuse to drive in. It will be worth it. -

I've driven by Tibet's several times and have thought about trying it for a while now, but after reading the great reviews here I finally gave in and ate there last weekend. The regular menu was very tempting, but I went with the lunch buffet so I could try a variety of items. I am vegetarian, and I assumed anything without meat in it was vegetarian but they didn't have anything specifically saying that. It would be helpful if they did note that somehow--I should've asked our waiter but he wasn't around when I was at the buffet.
Items I tried included: tibetan noodles, vegetable pakora, plain naan, saag, a chickpea curry that was slightly spicy and a tofu and potato entree that was slightly sweet. There was also a very buttery mushroom soup, rice pudding, fresh fruit, white and brown rice and a handful of chicken and beef entrees that I didn't try. I was barely able to go back for seconds because it was so filling--I didn't have room for the rice pudding!
I am not sure if the buffet items are usually the same or if they get rotated but I'd love to go back and try anything I didn't get to try in my first visit! I will definitely be back again. Good variety of great food at a very reasonable price! -

I have to write a review simply to rave about the chai! I know the Dushanbe Teahouse gets all the credit around here, but I like Tibet's version much, much better. It has less of that cayenne pepper taste, so the other flavors have more of a chance to come out and really sing. Hot or cold out, I never leave Tibet's without ordering the chai--the soy version is tasty too!
I also can't get enough of the perfectly creamy saag or freshly baked naan. -

This place was great. I had the yak vindaloo, which was excellent (and it's not often that you find yak on the menu). My sis ordered the veggie vindaloo. The waitress also brought out a freshly made habanero sauce when she saw that we could withstand punishment. Everything was excellent down to the service. I left stuffed and satisfied. Very fresh and delicious.

On a second visit, I ordered from the menu. Lamb Vindaloo, Basmati Rice and plain naan. Vindaloo is traditionally a very spicy dish. The Tibet version is bland and the sauce is very starchy. The lamb was chewy rather than tender. The naan however was much improved from my previous visit, but even so, I doubt I would ever go there again.

My wife and I have eaten here three times already. It's one of her new favorites. The menu has a lot of choices. So far everything we've tried has been really good.
The service is a little slow, but I kind of like that. It lets you relax and enjoy the atmosphere, your company, and your food. -

Haven't ever had Tibetan food but this was a great introduction - not surprisingly, a mix of Indian and Chinese cuisines.
First off, compared with other Indian-ish buffets I've been to, everything here tastes fresh, with bright flavors that haven't been oversteamed into dullness. Crisp spicy green beans, silky saag, delicious momo dumplings with tangy sauce, and a chili beef stir-fry that has some actual heat to it. Not toned down for bland palates (though obviously I expect a lot more spice from these dishes if made to order).
And at 9 bucks, the buffet is a good value - but I owe it to myself to delve into the proper menu - if only to try the yak. -

We love Tibet's and eat there semi-monthly, although mainly what I consider "Indian" style dishes as opposed to the Tibetan momo or other dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff very welcoming and attentive, and the decor "authentic" Tibetan items. Sure the music CD is the same for the past couple of years, but at least I know what to hum when I'm enjoying the complimentary lentil soup and papadam before savoring the chicken tikka masala and vindaloo. Great value, especially the lunch buffet and good alcohol prices...wines priced at $20 and the Tibet-branded beer microbrewed locally (forgot who...). We enjoy the outdoor dining as well. Also good for take out!
