Since 2009, I've become a lover of Himalayn food. It's not exactly the most common food genre in Los Angeles, but it is often the most consistently delicious. A coworker let me know about this place knowing my affection for Tibetan chow, so I bookmarked it and waited for a Pasadena excursion. Desipite my allegiance to my favorite spots more local to me, I was impressed with the food at Tibet Nepal House. Their momo (for one thing) is out-of-this-world-crazy-delicious. Definitely the best momo I've ever had, even if the shape is a little off-putting to me. My husband got the clay oven mixed platter that smelled amazing and, by the look on his face and the ensuing moans, also tasted amazing. I got the mixed veggie platter and while it was all good, it didn't blow me away. My favorite part of my platter was actually the daal-- it reminded me of my sister-in-law's mother's homemade daal, which is a high compliment.

Service is good and the ambiance is nice. Parking can be tricky and pricey, so plan ahead and carpool.

All You Can eat for lunch?!? Yes!

A big group of us came to the Tibet Nepal House one weekend after a long hike in the mountains.  This place is big enough, that it could handle big groups of 10+.

What I like about this kind of AYCE place is that the food is already made so there is zero waiting time for your food to get cooked.  But don't worry, just because the food is already made doesn't mean it's not good.

There are plenty of people who come here for lunch, so their trays are empty pretty fast.  Their selection is decent,  there was around two or three protein dishes, a few vegetable dishes, and a few I have no clue what they were dishes.

Most of everything I tried was good. . . the food here kind of reminds me of Indian food which I also like.

Haven't posted a review for quite some time so here goes...

I only ordered to-go so can't say much for the service. Had a Groupon which expired today so I figured I should make good use of it. Only waited about 15 min for my food.

    Here's what I ordered...

    1. Yak momo - Dumplings filled with meat almost like beef. Thought it would be gamey but wasn't. Somewhat spicy. Skin was a little was chewy though.
    2. Aloo Tamaa - Similar to Aloo Ghobi but with bamboo shoots instead of cauliflower. This was ok. Kind of oily and had to be careful. It's like a flourescent yellow and kind of staining everything (like my kitchen counter).
    3. Fish Masala - This was very good. Light and buttery with salmon. However, the fish taste was fairly strong and permeated the curry. Next time I'll try the chicken which I think would ideal.
    4. Pisuwari Naan - Naan with raisins, chestnuts and peanuts. Not bad but I have had better before but it was still good.

Also got a green salad (Basic greens with Italian), the dressing was sweeter and tasted very good for a simple salad and also got some steam rice.
The took the groupon so only paid around $25 which is pretty good price but without it would've been over $50.00 which is kind of pricey.

I may go back to try some of the other dishes...

Great HOSPITALITY! Probably because my bf is nepalese. The owner/waiter kept talking to one another. Even when we came for the 2nd time during that same week...the workers there remembered him.  We ate during dinner, but I wish I was able to try the lunch buffet. He had his MOMO (his favorite), I had rice and chicken curry.  The rice and chicken curry came in big portion...you can eat for two!  THe naan is not free but I ordered it anyways and it was delicious.  NOTE: there's two different type of naan, regular and garlic naan.  Try the garlic naan...i thought it was good. You're able to order the curry spicy if you wanted to, which of course I did.  I also asked for extra hot sauce on the side, which he kept bringing to me over and over again. I kept wanting more. I would dip the naan on the hot sauce.
I wanted my sister and her bf to try this place out but too bad they couldn't.  Maybe next time when I am in town I can take them there.

Great falvor and good size portion.    .  Ordered the lamb shank with white rice; affter having a kind of fried breaded/batter chicken thumb.

Food good, although my non-vegetarian Thukpa light on the chicken.  Biggest issue -- when we gave them money to get change -- they took out the tip on their own.  When we asked them if they took out the tip already, first they said no, but when we asked them again, then they said yes.

Beyond the presumption of them deciding their own tip, they basically took 34% of the bill (charged us the tax money twice).  We were going to tip them 25% of pre-discounted bill before that.

Bottom line is the hassle of being overcharged, means we won't be back.

We came back to this place for a groupon deal.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Matter Paneer and the veg momo's.

Also, we asked for medium spicy thinking it was on the level of indian food in terms of spice, but the medium spicy really wasn't spicy at all, so definitely ask for spicy if you want spicy. ;)

The kheer dessert was quite refreshing. Not too sweet, which I liked.

Oh, and service was great. They were very attentive in filling up our drinks and took good care of us.

It wasn't crowded when I went on a friday night. A bit quiet, but it's a good place to chat with old or new friends because you're not screaming over the thump thump music like in a club.

Though those are two totally different experiences.

    Ha ha.

    Happy New Year!

Definitely go for the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Comes with 2 chicken dishes, daal, veggie curry, veggie soup, chickpea curry, salad, vegetable fritters, basmati rice, kheer (rice pudding), watermelon, and naan! The buffet is fresh, delicious, and full of variety. I love Indian food and this is very similar, more plentiful in the selection of yak (haven't tried it though).

Service is great; I drink a lot of water and I only had an empty glass once (out of about 6 refills). The decor is interesting, I enjoyed looking around at all the paintings and statues. Basically lots of delicious food and good service for a cheap price!

I think that my husband and I came here on an off night. They were extremely busy and really understaffed for such a full restaurant.  I felt bad for the one waiter wo had to cover the entire restaurant. Our food took about 50 minutes to come out to us and my side of rice ($2.99) to go with my Tikka Masala didn't come out for a full 15 minutes after that. My hubby ordered the Tandorri chicken and he portion was HUGE!  although the chicken was a bit bland and not like other Tandorri chicken i have had. My Tikka Masala on the other hand had a wonderful flavor and i really enjoyed it.  I would recommend coming here on not peak hours but it is worth a try.

Ok, so what are the chances that there are two Himalayan restaurants in Pasadena! I had bought a groupon for this restaurant and I thought it was for the Himalayan Cafe  which I went to last time! Any way we got there around 2p, and we opted to do the lunch buffet infested of the groupon. The buffet was $8.99, and I feel it was definitely  worth it.  There  was for much of a selection, but what they had was good and my friend and I both enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely  go there for the lunch buffet again

The lunch buffet here was OK and not a bad deal at $9 per person-- but there there was nothing exceptional about it, either.

My brother attempted to use a Groupon and was informed that it would only be valid if we ordered off the regular menu instead of getting the buffet.  This isn't unusual for Groupon deals and I'm sure it was spelled out in the fine print, but the manager seemed irritated that we would even suggest such a thing.  In the interest of saving time we decided to just go ahead and get the buffet.

We had arrived towards the end of lunch (about 14:00) and the buffet was looking kinda sad-- I was not at all happy with the dishes I sampled on my first trip through.  After 10-15 minutes, though, some fresh trays of food emerged from the kitchen.  Much better!  The manager also brought some fresh naan to the table and apologized for the wait on the fresh buffet entrees.

Oh, there's a really cool (and really large) idol head fountain in the front of the restaurant, too.

We hadn't had Tibetan/Nepalese food in a long time so this was the perfect place to come and experience it. I have to admit that the place was much smaller than I thought it would be but it was perfect like that. I thought the staff was courteous and attentive and didn't try to rush us in any way making the dining experience enjoyable.

I tried different dishes as we shared and most of them were lights out! The winner of the night was the lamb sekuwa. It was basically marinated lamb pieces with onions and green peppers. The Himalayan spices were incredible and I just loved the taste of it. I really wished I would have ordered this myself.

I did get the lamb tikka masala. Almost perfect... it was one of the better ones I have yet and very similar to those you find at Indian restaurants. I asked for spicy but it was anything but. That was a bit disappointing. The taste otherwise was outstanding.

We also had a chicken dish in a spinach creamy sauce, which had a nice taste to it but it just wasn't something I was in the mood for. Finally, the yak stew was similar to goulash but it just didn't really work for anyone. It was a bit heavy, a staple of Tibet I'm sure, but unless I was starving I'm not sure I would order it.

We did have the sample platter for appetizers but it wasn't memorable as I don't remember much of it. The naan was good but none of us cared for the Tibetan bread.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. Some of it comes down to preferences and what you like but whatever you order will not disappoint!

I was very disappointed with my last experience at the Tibet Nepal House. My husband and I had been there a few times before and enjoyed both the food and the service. However, our visit there last week was terrible!

I made reservations for 4 at 7:00 using the Open Table link here on Yelp. When we arrived, it was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. The man who I think was the manager passed around a piece of paper for people to write their names down for the wait. I told him that I had reservations, and he said, "We're not taking reservations tonight." I told him that I had already MADE the reservations and showed him the confirmation email. He still (without apology) kept repeating, "We're not taking reservations tonight." He assured us that the wait would only be a couple minutes.

Within the next 10-15 minutes that we were standing there, we saw a couple other groups who also had reservations that were not being honored. Just when we were about ready to walk out, a group of 3 walked in and was seated immediately. When I asked the manager about it, he said that there had been a "misunderstanding" and that we should have been seated before them.

Had we not been seated almost immediately after that, we definitely would have gone across the street for Thai. However, my friend (who really wanted to try the food at Tibet Nepal House) asked that they push two small tables together and seat us. They did. The manager was our waiter. He was unbelievable (unbelievably nervy)!

When we finally got to order, he kept trying to up-sell us! When we asked that the naan be brought out before the meal as our appetizer, he told us that we just HAD to get a real appetizer. I asked if he was offering us a free appetizer for our troubles. He gave a firm "no" and carried on about how the reservation mistake was Open Table's. (I doubt it, but even if it was, he should have handled the situation more graciously.) He carried on about how his phone was ringing off the hook that very minute with people wanting to make reservations, but that he wasn't accepting any of them (as if that was supposed to make us feel better that he was disregarding our existing reservation.) The icing on the cake was when he (finally) came to refill our empty water glasses and told us that we were lucky to be getting water from him (just because we were close to the kitchen, he said...others weren't getting refills at all.) Oh wait, no...the icing on the cake was when, after all that, he added wrong on the handwritten bill and overcharged us.

Tibet Nepal House, you used to be about 4 stars. This time you were 0 stars. I give you an average of 2. :(

I've dined here 3 times now... 1st with a group of 35 members of my LA Foodies and Asian Foodies groups, then at a table of 2 and finally we reserved the entire restaurant with 53 in our group. The management is wonderful and worked so hard to please us... and did. Our first group event, we dined on the Sunday champagne brunch buffet.  Food was very good overall and a few raved about the soups, the Himalayan Tandoori Chicken and other dishes. This place is great for the Vegan, Vegetarian as well as the Omnivore.

The dinner for two was using a Groupon and we would sample the Tibetian beers which were nice. Food and service again excellent.

The third time, we occupied the entire restaurant and the place went wild... one member started belly dancing, then spontaneously, the owner cranked up some suitable music that went well with the dancer and then she literally pulled me out of my chair and forced me to dance with her! That brought the house down... LOL Our first event here, they used some frozen veggies and so I asked them to please not use any frozen veggies for our next group event and they were happy to agree and the food this time was totally awesome. The flavors were spot on and all the veggies were nice and fresh and perfectly cooked!

The last event we shot over 100+ photos, so if you want to see our pics, here's the link... http://www.meetup.com/...

FYI: This place has amazing natural light in the morning and our photographers were having a field day at our event. The large skylights and front windows produced some studio quality natural light photos...

I love this place and plan to host monthly or bi-monthly brunch events here.

I have always loved Indian Food and came here one afternoon for something similar, the interior was simple and peaceful almost minimalist with a statue of Buddha in the corner. We arrived in time for the lunch buffet and started picking out items I had chicken not tandoori but similar, veggie soup and veggie curry. I started of with the chicken which was incredibly smoky and tender, very tender, the veggie soup and curry was very nicely spiced and was delicious. I finished my meal with a little bit of kheer (rice pudding) this one was particularly decadent, full of cinnamon and star anise. Go Here!

I had a groupon that I finally cashed in here tonight.  The interior is nice and our food was not bad.  The momo's (we had Yak) ones were tasty as was a roasted lamb dish we ordered.  But.. a gigantic negative for not having yak butter tea!  The other big turn off?  Our waiter (seemed like the boss) got irritated with my companion and I for not ordering fast enough.  Granted we were chatting a lot and not paying attention to the menu but the restaurant was 2/3 empty and there was no need to hustle us through.  Staff must have asked us 4 times if we were ready to order and it got to the point of being rude.  Their attitude was terrible and almost ruined our dinner.  I will unlikely be going back here.

This would be a solid four star place, but...
We went there with the groupon coupon, that was supposed to be two meals and two beers, but as I was fuzzy on the details, I accepted the fact that they would just use the $25 credit towards our meal. We did order a beer, in itself it was $7.50, which would have been $15 for the two beers alone, so I'm not sure if the groupon included two cheaper ones or we were just kinda, umm, ripped off? Anyway, that's still not that bad, we enjoyed the meal. We ordered the vegan samosas, which came with two dipping sauces on the plate. Then, I had the cabbage curry, which was very tasty, a little different than what I had at the other nepali place in Pasadena, but good. The boyfriend had the salmon, and he loved it. He also tried the rice pudding as per all the recommendations on yelp: good, but not something he could have done without. All in all, the meal was very pleasant. Now, the gripes:
    - none of the meals came with any carbs as in rice or bread. You have to add that extra. I paid $3 for my bread (vegan) and the boy paid $5 for his cheesy naan. That brought his dish to $20 alone...
    - they charged us $1.50 for the small amount of dipping sauces that they brought out with the samosas - wtf. No, we didn't ask for the two they brought out, it was just presented on the plate as part of the appetizer. According to the description, it comes with a sauce, which could have been one of them, still charged for it. You know those little metal cups in Indian restaurants? Yeah, those, half filled for $1.50. That made the $5 appetizer into a $8 one. Deceptive and grabby, I think. If you're going to charge for something, indicate it so, so I have a chance to decline, not just present it on my plate, like it's part of the meal. I also ordered hot sauce: they brought it and then charged me for it, again, without saying so. I have never been charged for hot sauce in any restaurant, including the other nepalese one in Pasadena or other Indian ones.

So yeah, food was good, but knowing that I have other equally good options, nearby no less, with a very accommodating chef, I think this was the first and last time I ate at Tibet Nepali House. Bitter taste in my mouth is not what I asked for dessert :/

They got a new chef back in April and in my opinion he had a rough start.  Everything was off and pretty nasty so we didn't go back for 5 months and he's gotten things down now.  Apparently he was in an Indian restaurant prior to this and was used to that cooking style.  He's back to his Nepalese roots these days and the food was pretty good tonight.

    1.  We got an order of chicken naan.  Chicken naan???  We had to try it.  Didn't disappoint at all.
    2.  Chicken tikka masala.  Standard dish and they did it very well.
    3.  Chicken saag.  Tasty but a bit spicy despite the fact that I asked for mild.
    4.  Okra.  Some of the okra bits were completely dried out so the okra wasn't really fresh.  But normally I like this dish.

Must try the dal next time.  I tried it in April and it was so gross.  The old chef at Tibet Nepal House made the absolute best dal I've ever had with a lot of coriander seed, etc.  I wish I knew where he's cooking now!

Heard about Tibet Nepal House from a friend and decided to try it on a whim while visiting Pasadena.
We were greeted by th owner outside on the sidewalk and he shared interesting details about the food that they served and what each dish was.
There were 3 of us for lunch and we all opted for the buffet.  Great choice!  Really clean buffet.  Hot steamy and fresh dishes in the chafers.
Get the Aloo Gobi.  It's amazing.  Mixed Vegetables and Paneer Masala are good choices too.
When you order the buffet they bring warm naan to your table in a basket.
Nice quiet restaurant and attentive staff.  I will be recommending Tibet Nepal House to everyone.

I realize everyone's palate and tastes are different; however, I did not like the food AT ALL. Mind you, I did sample a variety of dishes with an open mind, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.  If you like Indian food, or food with a lot of curry, cumin, mint, turmeric and goat, I suggest you give the place a chance...if not, well good luck.

All our food was fantastic. The portions were big. Food was fresh. The service was attentive. We left with full & happy tummies.

But can I just ask? What is with Indian restaurants and having the service watch you eat? I always feel like the waiter and the waiters friends and the cook and the cooks wife are always hanging out around the back living vicariously through me & my meal. Are they hungry? Do they just want to make sure I'm happy? Did they just see me lapse in table manners? Is there something stuck in my teeth? Seriously. Only con. But I'd let them sit with me at the table for all I care as I stuff my face w naan! :)

I'd have to say this place was pretty disappointing. I was SO excited to try a brand new type of cuisine and it was "meh".

SO we ordered the sampler platter (because we are fatties and like to try different things). It was ok, but would have been better with bigger portions? Yea for $10.99 I felt like I got ripped off.

Tiki Masala Lamb combo with veggies, lentil and naan. You know it's bad when the naan was basically the highlight of our meal. The lamb wasn't very exciting at all. We ordered it "mild spicy" and there was no spiciness at all. AND they forgot to give me tea that's supposed to come with it.

Yak chili. Ok so my first time trying Yak meat. Cool I guess. It takes some effort to chew but that's fine. But the dish tasted like sweet and sour yak meat? With onions, peppers and tomatoes. Where are these "Himalayan spices" you brag of? Hmm?

We also got two Lhasa beers as part of our coupon. Basically, if I had to pay full price for this then I would have been devastated but since we paid  $12 for $25, I felt better.

Oh, the ambiance is pretty cute I guess. I saw a lot of two person tables and people on dates.

OK, I thought hard about writing this review...but here it is. My recent visit to the Tibet Nepal House was not my first. I do not recall my first experience, but you will find out at the end of this review what it was...so sit tight kiddies! =)

We ended up at the TBH on a Saturday for dinner. We were seated right away...everything started off on the right foot. I was delighted to find out they have a kid's menu for @ $4. So my husband & I ordered our food, and ordered "Mac & Cheese" for our 5 yr. old son.

We ordered a chicken dish, green beans, plain rice, Naan, iced chai tea, and of course the Mac & Cheese.

CHICKEN: Boneless but fatty w/skin...tasted like old cumin.
GREEN BEANS: Tasted frozen and overcooked.
PLAIN RICE: What can I say, it was plain rice.
    ICED CHAI: Very mild....
    MAC & CHEESE: Never arrived.
GARLIC NAAN: Arrived after meal and was burned.

After having our food delivered to up, we were informed that they were out of Mac & Cheese. THIS WAS NOT COOL. My son had nothing to eat. We then ordered him a "non-spicy" noodle soup that took about 20-25 minutes to prepare....wish they would have told us the time it was going to take. My husband & I ate our meal, our son ate plane rice.

After my husband & I were done with our meal, our naan arrived...it looked burned. The waiter looked puzzled as to why I turned it away.

In their defense, the waiter did try to help. About 5 minutes before the steaming noodle soup arrived, he offered my son a small serving of what looked like "lentil soup"...he did not tell me what it was. The waiter took the rice my son was eating, dumped it on a plate and poured the soup over the rice....with my son looked horrified. My soon took a small bite and was not pleased. His rice was ruined. So my son could then not eat. The cumin flavored soup w/the cumin flavored noodles arrived. I wish I would have taken a picture of the amount to noodles you get for over $10....NOTHING...This is not Ramen or Pho noodle volume people...this is more like not full small styrofoam cup volume...NOT MUCH. We fished these noodles out. The soup itself was a big bowl of broth with a few button mushrooms & cucumber slices floating at the top.

NOTE: The food here is NOT spicy. It's frustrating. It looks and smells like Indian food, but does not pack a punch...just threats. =( ALL THE FOOD TASTE LIKE CUMIN.

As you can see, I was not happy.

At the end, the did remove the naan & soup from our tab...they knew we were not happy. The bill still came out to $50, with tip included. I know it's not much...but considering the experience & the quality of food I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

As a side note, to add insult to injury, there was a GroupOn coupon for this place waiting for me in my inbox the following Monday...Precious.

Now, going back to the beginning, here's the reason I had not returned after so many years: My husband said that last time we went, I said the same thing: "The food looks and smells like Indian food, but disappoints because it's so mild".

Save yourself the frustration, if you like intense flavors, go eat Indian food. It was all mild, including the Iced Chai....Go to All India or Akbar, your $50 will be better spent.

IF you prefer mild flavors, bingo..this place is for you.

This is my opinion & I'm sticking to it.

Everything was extremely flavorful. The flavors were very Indian with a twist of something else-- Asian? Not quite sure. Very ethnic flavors. I very much enjoyed the Fish Vindaloo Curry, Chicken, and def all the vegetarian dishes. My bf did not enjoy the flavors at all...To each, his own.

I was totally digging the music!

Lunch buffet of Tibetan food. There are overlaps with Nepal and Indian food, with curries and okra. Goat meat is served here, and very delicious. The buffet has a limited selection, but come for an interesting cuisine experience at a very affordable price.

Naan was delicious, as were the vegetable dishes.

I felt cleansed upon my experience here. Small restaurant with fun decor. Street meter parking, in Old Town Pasadena, but away from the crowds of Colorado.

They also serve Yak during dinner times.

Got a groupon as a gift and decided to get dinner there. The service was really good. I was really thirsty and kept finishing my water and they were always there to refill it within seconds. The food was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but I for sure enjoyed it. The prices seemed a little on the high side for the amount of food you get but I guess it is in the Old Town Pasadena (expensive) area. Overall I would go back.

I've been here a number of times and will continue to pay this place visits when I happen to go to Pasadena.

The reason that I have to give this place 3 stars is because while the service is generally good, they have, in the past, completely forgotten parts of our order. They can also be a little overly curious and friendly, if this makes any sense. I won't elaborate, but will say that one of the exchanges we had with one of the servers this last time made me feel a little uncomfortable. Nothing major, but I could have done without it.

The food is like a milder version of Indian food. I don't expect it to be like Indian food, but I can see how some people would be left wanting for more spiciness. I myself am a fan of the spice, but I still enjoy the food here.

My favorite dish here is the Momo dumplings (veggie). They are little pouches of tasty. The garlic naan is always tasty here. If you're in the mood for something exotic, they have a small selection of yak dishes. They are tasty, but I do not care too much for the yak meat. I think that the fact that yak meat is so lean makes it really hard to keep the meat moist.

Portions are not huge, but I don't think that they're as meager as others make it seem. I don't think that I've had anything bad here yet. It's definitely worth at least one visit.

Went here the other night to use a groupon I bought for the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was great even though we were using a coupon, which is not always the case in my experience.
It did take a while for our food to come out, but we weren't in a hurry and it was clearly all made fresh and not just scooped from a pre-made vat like some other restaurants.
My favorite thing we had was the paneer tikka masala. Yummy! And it was fun because the cheese would squeak a bit when you chewed it.
I definitely plan to go back again and not just because they gave us a 25% off coupon before we left, but that was a nice little bonus : )

Went there after getting a groupon.
I was not familiar at all with Nepalese food. Turns out its very much like Indian food, which i'm a big fan of.

Though the food itself was really good, I wasn't so happy with the service. It took them forever to bring out the food. We were so hungry by the time it got there, that it was even more disappointing to see such small portions!

Faster service + More food would equal an additional star!

It was a nice breezy day with the sky full of fat scudding clouds, and the perfect opportunity for my mother and I to have lunch somewhere local and a little new. I used to keep passing this place by, but have never visited, so I settled on the Tibet Nepal House.

It's tucked away, but if you go inside, the restaurant has a nice airy feeling with lovely photographs of the Himalayan mountains and Mount Everest. There's even a large display for Buddha with candles and incense and several books set up in the back. The restaurant had a very calm and welcoming feeling, especially from the staff with their politeness and smiles.

I chose to try this new ethnic food because it's not so far off the path of Indian food that I sometimes eat. A milder but tasty version of Tandoori chicken could be found in the Himalayan chicken. Vegetable Pakora was Vegetable Pakoda (if you say it in the right way, they both sound exactly the same anyway). And there were plenty of vegetarian options.

We piled our plates, took a seat and chowed down. I got full very fast, but my mother was enjoying herself and went back for a second plate. They also offer some dessert options, like fruit (melon and cara cara oranges this time) and some sort of sweet coconut dish that I can't remember the name of. It wasn't overwhelmingly coconut-y, but it was sweet with almonds and raisins and had a very thick consistency like lightly warmed and thickened oatmeal/porridge. In any case, it was different for me, but very nice. A little goes a long way.

As a champagne buffet, ten bucks per person was a pretty nice deal for a relaxing lunch. Keep in mind, the food is not served piping hot, but I don't think it's entirely necessary. The cuisine isn't one of temperature extremes or spice extremes (though, they offer chutneys and hot sauces if you want to kick it up).  The restaurant actually feels very homey to me, a nice place to take a break from the hustle-n-bustle of Old Town and chill for a bit while you fill your belly.

I had an excellent lamb curry and the misses had a chicken one. Be sure to order their bread - it's excellent and fills you up. The Nepal beer was average but its always fun to try a new beer that I can finish comfortably.

The waiters there a little awkward but they are really from Nepal, and so I think their still learning English. It affected small talk but not ordering. We went in with a groupon coupon and they gave us another coupon for 25% off next time.

    We would eat there again.

The fish was served with eyes in tact.  Nepal makes horrible beer.  You're safer with Indian food or Thai.

We had walked by the restaurant many times and finally made reservations for dinner. The service was great and the food was amazing.

The chicken tikka masala was perfect. The channa masala was delightful.

If you're looking for great food and affordable prices, this is the place for you. Next time I'm trying the Yak meat.

I love to try new places and explore different varieties of food, so I bought a $25 gift certificate off of http://restaurant.com for Tibet Nepal House. It was a nice dining experience overall. Its setting is quite unique and religiously cultured. We first began with Veg Pokauda. I'm not a big fan of deep-fried food, but this appetizer may be good for those who enjoy a bit of crispiness. I must compliment on their Chicken Tikka Masala. The white meat was very tender and juicy. I've had this dish with richer sauce at other Indian restaurants, but I like this one as well because it is more tomato sauce-base than cream. Next we had Lamb Saag. It was good but it didn't 'wow' us. The meat was tender and flavored, but we do not care so much about grills. We also tried the eggplant curry. Their homemade peanut sauce is quite unusual. Can't taste or smell the garlic in their garlic naan, but they were very crispy and serve well with creamy tomato sauce. The rice pudding is also delicious and worth a try even for those who are not into sweet. The rice milk and almonds give off this strong aroma - very tasty and nutty. Currants also add a tiny bit of sweetness to it. I think this combination works well together.

The staff was all really nice, but I must say the price is a bit too expensive for its portion. I used the $25 certificate and 18% gratuity is mandatory. Although they applied 18% tips on top of sales tax, it didn't bother me too much. However, without the coupon, it would have cost us $75 out the door.

We're so pleased that we discovered this cozy place to eat here in Pasadena on Memorial Day night! When we walked in, heard the music, and smelled the great aroma, it was as if we were transported to another place around the world.

Since it was our first time, we asked the friendly staff for their suggestions! They were so kind to help us!

We started with a chicken mo mo dumpling appetizer. I love dumplings, but these dumplings were so heavenly with a distinct Indian kind of spice inside. They were delicious!

We then decided to try one veggie and one meat dish. So we went with the eggplant and potato dish which was great! And then we had the lamb shank dish. It was like a gigantic drumstick served in a delicious spice and the lamb was so tender that it just came off the bone and melted right in our mouth. We also ordered steam rice and garlic nan to go with these dishes which was a perfect combination.

Lastly, we tried the Mustang beer which has a slight sweet taste to it...and is quite refreshing!

With the friendly staff and excellent food, this is definitely a place worth checking out! I hope to check out more of their dishes by stopping in for their lunch time buffet during the week.
