What??? Ti Couz is closed? For good??!
I'm literally on the verge of tears. I first came here close to 16 years ago, and these buckwheat crepes are one of the things I've held closest to my heart about the city for more than half of my life.
At 19, after getting my tongue pierced up the street at Body Manipulations, Ti Couz crepes were my very first meal, swollen tongue and all. I powered through the pain because I loved this place so much.
This is the place that held me in its comfortable arms during the very first meal I ever ate out alone, when, after some reflection, I decided that I'd likely stay single for the rest of my life, and that I'd better get used to enjoying great food by myself. It is, to date, still one of the best meals I've ever had, both the food and the memory.
A while back, I scoured the internet and found Sylvie's recipe for my most favorite mushroom crepe with mushroom sauce on SF Gate or something. I attempted to make the crepes myself, and toiled over them - they weren't easy to make! In the end, they were good, but they definitely weren't Ti Couz crepes.
What will I do now? Where will I get breton crepes? Where will I ever find that magical, decadent, luscious, flavorful mushroom sauce again?? Please don't make me go all the way back to France to get them. I kind of hated France.
Sylvie, please open another creperie! Or, um, contact me so that you can teach me how to make them for myself. I will pay you, not only in cold, hard cash, but in supreme, undying gratitude.
R.I.P. Ti Couz. I am sadder about your closing than I've been at the passing of some of my family members. I cannot even begin to express how much you will be missed.1 Previous Review: Show all »

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES IN THE MISH IS CLOSED?!
FML.
This place was incredible. I'm sorry to see it's gone, because I ate here for years and I haven't been to another creperie that was as good. It was always full or had a wait list and the food was consistently good and flavorful. The coffee was excellent. Authentic menu.
I hope this is only temporary. -

How can this possibly close? IT was full every time I went!
I'm jonesing for some crepes RIGHT NOW and am drunk enough to ALSO order the charcuterie platter! How can the economy fuck with me like this!? -

This is terrible, terrible news. I am heartbroken. I had no idea I had limited time with you. It's as if you broke up with me without the courtesy of letting me know first.
You were the first restaurant I ate at in San Francisco and a place I liked to keep in my back pocket as a pick-me up. I hope you are just taking a break and and planning a fabulous re-open, because your in-expensive, delicious crepes, salads and cocktails represent a restaurant offering truly lacking in SF.
Will you at least release the recipe for your ridiculously and mysteriously delicious mushroom sauce? -

Closed?! Why?!
I am struck with a deep sadness to learn that Ti Couz, a cherished French creperie in the heart of the Mission District - not Noe or Castro Districts (Pa que sepan) - has closed. I was in denial until I dialed their number only to hear the cold, grainy, and dated: "We're sorry. This number is no longer in service or has been disconnected ..." I would like to believe that I have reached this recording in error, but I am afraid that it is true. Ti Couz ... is ... closed.
Transplanted in LA for the time being, places like Ti Couz help anchor me in my idealistic memories of my childhood and SF dining. I readily invoked Ti Couz - and places like it - to fend off my SoCal circle in many a NorCal v. SoCal culinary debate. It wasn't just the crepes, it was the culture, the attitude, and the history.
I miss you already.

Back in March, we road-tripped from San Diego to San Francisco for a friend's wedding. The only thing better than staying in one of the coolest parts of San Fran? The restaurant our friend Michelle took us to, Ti Couz.
Ti Couz is a French Crêperie with a rustic, warm, farm-like interior, worn wooden tables and all. It was easy to forget the rain outside. We started with a basket of fresh bread and butter, along with an pitcher of house-made cider. The cider was HEAVEN, crisp and sweet.
For the entrées, Michelle had the French Onion Soup: flavorful, cheesy, and surprisingly substantial; MUCH better than the version I had at Currant here in San Diego.
I ordered a Savory Champignon & Crevette (Mushroom & Shrimp) crêpe topped with Seafood Sauce. My lord in heaven, I've literally NEVER had a legitimate French crêpe before, and boy, am I glad my first was at Ti Couz. It was unbelievably good! The seafood sauce is hard to describe; it's smooth and delicious, encompassing many seafood flavors without being fishy. And the crêpe itself was crispy and buttery, with the shrimp and mushrooms sautéed in (what tasted like) white wine and butter. I was surprised at how filling it was as well; one crêpe left me perfectly satisfied.
My boyfriend kept it light with a Fruit & Cheese plate. While it was a great accompaniment to the bread and cider, I thought he was nuts for not ordering something as flavorful and delicious as me and Michelle's choices.
We finished off the meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Oh baby; dense, smooth and chocolatey. What more can a girl ask for?
I wish with all of my heart to find a place remotely similar here in Southern California. I don't know how long I can live without that crêpe!! I envy SF locals.

Dimly lit, informal, and rather noisy, this place makes for a good casual dining experience with friends. They don't do to-go, so be sure to bring your appetite. The first time I was here, I began with the savory crepe: Champignon & Fromage & Amandes (Mushroom & Cheese & Almonds) which I absolutely fell in love with... and continued to order each and every time I came back. There's just something about the mushrooms with the sauce and the almonds. The combination make for a crunchy texture to the otherwise soft very mushroomy crepe. Mmm, so good.
The sweet crepe I finished off with pretty much speaks for itself, the Beffe - Helene (pear & ice cream & chocolate). This one had me at hello as well, and I was equally hooked for life. -

I have been coming here for over 10 years, which is how many years I have been in San Francisco. This place is a classic and has always been consistent.
Ti Couz is not like any other crepe place in the city. Having come from France, I feel that I can say how much more authentic this place is compared to any other crepe I have had in SF. The Citron Presse (Lemonade) is exactly how its made in France. The dessert crepes are amazing!! And their cidre is so tasty. I love their Salade de Maree ( seafood salad), and their dressing makes me feel like Im back in France.
I have heard news this place will be closing soon, and it breaks my heart. Its sad to think about such a unique gem to be lost to some potential douchey new restaurant. If there is anything we can do to save this place, say the word! -

I dont know why everyone raves about this place. The savory crepes were ordinary at best. It was rather disappointing. Maybe I ordered wrong - I got the mushroom and sausage combination. I've definitely had better!
The iced tea was the saving grace. Good strong black tea. Loved it! But thats it. -

My only complaint is the facility itself. Very few tables, or you can sit at their awkward half-circle counter. The atmosphere is great though-music, decorations.
What this place lacks in seating, it more than makes up for with the food and prices. The crepes are awesome. You'll look at the menu planning out a savory crepe, a drink and a dessert crepe, but you're lucky to make it through the first two. Their drinks and smoothies were amazing too. I'll definitely be back! -

I would give this place five stars except for the prices. Yes, I know that French food fetches a higher price in general, but I don't think that it's often justified, and in the case of Ti Couz what you get for your money is not much food, although it is scrumptious. Now if the food was organic/local/sustainably raised, I might be willing to pay these prices more often, but it's not.
I've been coming here probably for at least 10 years and the quality hasn't changed. It's always top-notch French food from Brittany and it's delicious. My favorite is the mushroom cheese crepe, and the salads are quite yummy too. Haven't gotten around to trying some of the interesting sounding coffee drinks which they have posted high above on the wall (I'm assuming those are things they really sell and not just for decoration), but will be heading back to do that soon.
And the service is also fast and courteous. If you go during the day when it's quiet, you have to do 'self-service' (which just means you order at a counter and then sit and have your food brought to you) which I actually liked better because it felt like you were at a cafe in France. -

A little story on how I ended up here...
I was taking a film class at the little Roxie (2 doors down from the big Roxie) and it of course, smelled like weed everywhere. I didn't get the munchies but my headache coupled with the professors bad teaching simply made me exit. And what better alternative activity than to EAT in the Mission!
Before Ti Couz, all crepes I have had I will deem fake. You Americanos know what I'm talking about. I'm referring to the overly stuffed, pseudo stuffed pizza types that people like to call crepes. Typically in a triangle shape, these things are filled to the point where the only guarantee is that your crepe will break.
Ti Couz does it so right. With just the right ratio of crepe to filling, and sauce if you like, it looks understated but explodes with flavor. For my filling, I got cheese and ratatouille which worked really well since the cheese helped bind the vegetables and complemented it as well. As good of a pair as Thelma and Louise. I had to get the mushroom sauce which was creamy but not heavy; yup, possible.
My brother got the sausage, tomato, and cheese filling with seafood sauce on top. The best way to describe this is that it's reminiscent of pasta or even pizza. And don't take that as an insult because I'm glad he got something completely different. Despite how good the crepes are, you just get tired of eating bite after bite of the same flavor.
The crepes look thin and meek but are so filling. Also, get the French onion soup!! They make it the way I like it, on the thinner side, and have all the goodness -- tons of onions, crunchy bread, covered with the right amount of cheese (yes, I believe you can overcheese French onion soup).
What I really loved and hated at the same time was how they cook the crepe. The contrast of crispy edges to the sauce softened center is nice but I could taste the beginnings of a slightly burnt crepe. Maybe I was confused but who knows. I saved some for the next morning and it tasted the same. This doesn't deter me at all from coming again and bringing people here. -
Review from David W.
Hot,delicious crepes on a cold and windy night in San Francisco is definitely the way to go, especially at Ti Couz. I still don't know the proper way to pronounce the name and the meaning of it. I think I've unintentionally butchered the name like 10 times already by calling it "T.I. Cuz" or "Taio Cruz." But whatever the meaning or pronunciation, Ti Couz hits the spot during any time of the day. Crepes for breakfast, crepes for lunch, and crepes for dinner.
One bad thing about it is that you will not find parking around. We drove around mindlessly feeling helpless as parking spot after parking spot was taken. I mean, the Mission is a bomb area with lots to do but the parking situation is terrible.
Another thing is that the place is kind of tricky to find if you don't know the exact location. There is no big sign with flash lights to lure you in (it doesn't even look like a crepes place) but rather a hidden, dimly lit but cozy restaurant. To make things even more complicated...there's like 2 Ti Couz' (you will know what I mean when you check it out). We went inside the first one and saw nothing that looked like crepes but instead a band setting up, a bartender serving drinks, and a group of eyes staring at us like "who the heck are they?" So we immediately went outside to find that the "restaurant" is actually next door. So don't get confused.
We were immediately seated and the service is pretty quick. We ordered:
1. The banana and nutella ice cream crepe (most popular) - this is the standard flavor for "crepes" but it did taste a bit different since everything is on a plate and not crunchy but nonetheless, good.
2. The caramelized apple crepe - mhmm caramel...not the biggest fan of apple sauce but the caramel made up for it.
.And everything is topped off with ice cream =)
Overall, I enjoyed this place because it seemed really authentic and the decor and design of the place perfectly personified the district it is in. And for once, I was able to sit down inside to enjoy my crepe. But it is quite expensive, it cost us about $24 for two crepes. But I guess you pay not only for the crepes itself but for everything else as well. -

This is a bit weird; I was convinced I already wrote a review for Ti Couz.
I guess not.
Which is strange because this is one of my oldest favorite places in the city!
I've been coming here for years, and unless they start messing up badly, I don't think I will stop coming!
I don't have much to say that hasn't been said, being the 1100+ review.
Just know that I am French and approve of this crepe place.
My only little minus might be about the service, which is not bad, but not as good as everything else in the place (I remember a long time ago there was an Asian chick with tatoos who worked there and she was cool) but it's not enough to knock down one star.
If I have to recommend a few things:
- Salmon/Mushroom crepe
- Pear/Ice cream dessert (Poire Belle Helene)
- Kir
- Also I don't like cider, but I've been told it's really really good there.
The other reason for this late review is that I want to feature it in my Top SF Places list.

Ti Couz was my first favorite restaurant in SF (AKA the GREATEST Foodie town in the world!). I can't believe it's gone now.
Sylvie's commitment to community was amazing, and you really could taste it in the food.
My partner and I had our first date there. Last summer I traveled through Brittany (the land of crepes!) with friends, and nothing was as good as our own Ti Couz. I would take French friends there and they would cry it was so good! Heck, I even cried myself a few times...
But I'm reeeeeally crying now. Please Sylvie, if you're reading this, please
open again! SF misses you!! ON VOUS PRIER!!! -

Interesting place. You have to be cool, hip, and happening if you want to eat here...or come with a friend that is.
They have a huge selection of crepes...some for a meal, some for dessert. You can customize the inside with about 20 different items in any combination you like. I ordered some crab and mushroom...yum!
For dessert we had a banana nutella ice cream crepe. Once again, the crepes were very good.
Try this place once. If you really like crepes, try it twice. -

Ti Couz, what is your deal?
Your menu adamantly states your commitment to sustainability, so much so that it's noted that customers must ask for water in order to save the establishment from wasting water and energy cleaning unused glasses. OK, that's cool; YET-- when I ordered bottomless coffee my waiter brought me three different cups for each re-fill. The coffee wasn't even that good.
The service was unbearably slow, and my order was wrong. The waiter did not even come back to check-in, so I was stuck with the wrong crepe. The crepe was alright (though it was bursting with too much sausage that I hadn't even asked for), and it was overpriced. To top things off, above the crepe list it stated something along the lines of, "we'll top your crepe with creme fraiche, just ask" and we were charged $1.00 for this when the price tag was not noted anywhere on the menu.
Needless to say, I won't be going back. -

Repeat after me: champignon, almond, swiss cheese with champignon
sauce. Champignon, almond, swiss cheese with champignon sauce. CHAMPIGNON, ALMOND, SWISS CHEESE WITH CHAMPIGNON SAUCE.
Yes, seriously. It bears repeating three times.
I once got something else on the menu, and I was sad. The tang of the swiss, the nuttiness of the almonds and the creamy buttery goodness of the mushrooms in their delicious sauce = 5 stars every time.
Don't make the same mistake I did. Everything else on their menu is "ok" but this gem is what keeps me coming back over and over. -

One of the best creperies in the Bay Area! I love the fact that they are made of buckwheat! They are so delicious, full of flavor. They use fresh ingredients. They have good mimosas. A very good variety of savory and sweet crepes.
Definitely go there in you're in the neighborhood, heck it's worth a trip even if you're in San Francisco. -

Ti Couz take on crepes is amazing!
Proving I am yet again, slow on the uptake, this was my 1st time to Ti Couz..... crazy I know!
Parents & Sis in tow, we lucked into a rainy afternoon & hardly anyone was out & about so we got seated immediately - score!
Sis has been here many times & knew the drill & asked Mom to share but I was stubborn & said I wanted my own....
Mushroom & Cheese was buttery, crispy, and very mushroomy w/ the perfect amt of cheese & this awesomely rich mushroom sauce covering (Sis & Mom had the Mushroom, Cheese & Onion)
Sausage Tomato & Cheese for Dad - the carnivore - had no sauce but it wasn't dry & he about finished his plate it was so delish (& he's not in the Clean Plate Club)
Crepes are ginormous & we would have loved to have tried a sweet crepe but were way too full.... next time for sure!
Couldn't even finish 1/2 of my crepe so asked to get the rest to take home.... believe them when they say they don't do To-Go. Their crepes don't travel well - it's written plain as day on their menu & you should believe it
So unless you've a ginormous appetite, plan to share your dish & if you're really, really hungry, you could possibly fit in a savory & a sweet between 2-3 of you & still be completely stuffed
Can't wait to come back!Listed in: Magical Mushrooms

The Delice crepe (combination crepe with banana, netulla, and vanilla bean ice-cream) was excellent. To my surprise the total bill came up $15 before tax which I think is quite expensive thus the two stars off. Not an everyday treat, but maybe when I am feeling really down next time. =)

A date in the mission??? Mmmh, usually not this girl but I was pleasantly surprised.
Such a cold night and Ti Couz ended up being the perfect place. Second date jitters (the first date is always a given, it's the second one that can be the death of all good intentions) but it ended up being really nice! Incredibly cozy ambience with ample seating but we chose to sit at the bar. That is where you HAVE to sit to get the best seat in the house watching them make your fabulous crepes! I spent a couple weeks in France with my best friend and one of the things you do there is have crepes but we also got to make them and Ti Couz makes them the exact same way!
They came out piping hot with a savory sauce covering amples of mushrooms with scallions, almonds and swiss cheese. My date had his with shrimp and mushrooms but with a tomato basil sauce yet both were equally sooo good. I had a chardonnay with mine but on second visit will be having their fresh made apple cider which is an excellent complement to the dishes. Oh so wonderful food, great conversation that made me smile on a cold night in a warm place...Perfect!
My only regret is that I ran late for our date and we were suppose to go somewhere else for dinner and Ti Couz for dessert. We did have their Banana Flambe and food on fire is always fun but in this case we could have used more flambe. Not all the rum had evaporated and there were a few rum laden coconut bites where you felt like you needed a chaser...not so good.
Next time, crepes slathered in nutella, a scoop of french vanilla bean icecream on top with banana's, walnuts, a drizzle of honey and fresh cream...need I say more? -

Ti Couz! WHAT HAPPENED? Your bloody maries were possibly the best in the City and one of the main reasons I go there. How could you have downgraded your liquor license to only beer and wine. I don't understand how a busy, well established place makes a decision like that.

Such a cute place! I love crepes but really dislike going to those larger crepe chains around the city -- they just lack the coziness I need when nomming away at a crepe. Ti Couz is casual but not too casual, and I like that.
I got the mushroom and cheese crepe. Elsewhere, it might've been kind of bland. But this was flavorful and delicious, just as I would expect from a real French creperie.
We also split the coffee ice cream and chocolate crepe. It was great. And the coffee ice cream was particularly good -- surprisingly so.
There was French hip hop playing in the background that I really dug. Unfortunately our server didn't know who it was, and Shazam failed me, sooo... if anyone wants to help me out. :)
I think it's *kind of* pricy for the amount of food you get, hence the 4 stars. But I would go back, but I hear it's closing :( -

I always feel so French when I eat here. I love sitting outside and having a mimosa brunch. My bf and I had brunch yesterday, and it was perfect timing for sitting outside-- There was rain overnight, but the sky was sunny with some fluffy clouds for a couple of hours.
I ordered a crepe with ham, carmelized onions, cheese, and mushrooms. The mushrooms come with a sauce... From now on, we have decided to share a savory crepe (always with the mushrooms) and share a sweet dessert crepe. -

LOVED this place!!
Whether I was still on an emotional high from actually making it across the Golden Gate on bike or from getting engaged I don't know, but it was definitely my favorite restaurant of the trip :)
The savory crepes were my favorite so original with the buckwheat crepe and all the fresh yummy insides. I had the mushroom and cheese crepe and the boy had a tomato, sausage, cheese crepe.
We also split the sweet apple, caramel, vanilla ice cream crepe for dessert. This was good as well, but more of the sort of crepe I could get anywhere.
The atmosphere was definitely more local which I loved. Kinda a little artsy which could be intimidating, but definitely go anyways because its worth it for sure! -

Although I think it is absurd that they don't let you take food to go, I still have to five them five stars. The food was truly delicious and filling. It was also not that expensive.
I came here with three friends and we had a great time on a Sunday afternoon. If it was a little busier I could see the service degrading and everything slowing down but I had no problem in my time there. The waiters were great about keeping my water glass full (I am a prolific water drinker and I can always measure service by how much water I am able to drink). -

Surprised more people haven't heard this place is closing on May 15th. Went today to say farewell to one of my favs. Been going here for many years and will be missing the mushroom sauce. Need to get the recipe since I don't know what I'll do when I start craving it again like I'm sure I will be. No chance I'll be able to make those perfect buckwheat crepes at home tho :(
Met my girls Kimmie, Stef & Mandy who will also be missing this spot. Had my usual the Totale: cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes w mushroom sauce. Awesomely the same as always. Washed down with a Ti Couz mimosa (yummy peach) don't usually get a desert since full but got the lemon butter with brown sugar, heavenly. Stef got a banana, nutella, with ice cream, yumms! And a crisp apple cider severed in a bowl.
We reminisced over previous meals and dates we'd had there over the years. We'll miss you Ti Couz!!!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I like the crepes at Ti Couz, especially the savory ones made with buckwheat flour, and it is in a cool spot. However, it is just too expensive! And the fillings of the crepes are treated more like sauces than dishes. I had a crepe with ratatouille and sausage and it came out quite thin, not enough for a real lunch, yet it was $15 or so. At cheap crepe joints you can get a crepe overstuffed with fillings for $7. I'm willing to pay more for Couz's quality, ambiance and location...but this is too much.
I think they need to be more generous with the fillings and charge less. -

Ti Couz is a crepe place with a large selection of savory and sweet crepes. The hard part when coming here is deciding what type of crepe.
I took a shot and at trying a brown sugar and banana crepe and I couldn't help but just love the way brown sugar taste inside of crepe. I have to thank Ti Couz for introducing that to me because it was divine! It went perfectly with tea and even though I was so full from dinner, I ate every last bite of my dessert. I also loved the home made whip cream they had dolloped on top of the crepe as well.
So good! My friend also tried Bellalicious, one of the desserts in the cup and we weren't too impressed by that. Definitely come here for just the crepes.
I cannot wait to come here again! -

A cozy Mission restaurant offering unusual & tasty crepes.
Food-
Ti-Couz is all about crepes, but not your usual French style thin crepes. They serve Gaelic crepes which are square, a bit thicker and crispier than their French cousins.
Both savory and sweet crepes are offered. Anything that has cheese, ham and mushroom sauce is good. Seafood is a bit hit and miss due to inconsistency of the freshness of their shrimp. Go for a side salad, always 100% fresh.
If you're hungry order the French onion soup as well. Very tasty soup with thick melted cheese.
Drink-
I highly recommend the Ti-Couz 10; which I believe has vodka, blackcurrant puree and fresh mint. Can't lose with this one.
Service/Ambiance-
It has that old European cozy country feeling. The servers are very friendly. The restaurant is rather small so getting a table for 6+ people will be rather hard during weekends.
Price-
Very decent. Food and drink will probably run you $20.
If they improve on their seafood quality this is a definitely 4 star restaurant. -

The crepes here aren't half bad. For the price, you're getting a pretty a good deal. The portions are appropriate and the crepes are warm and crispy. I ordered a seafood combo and was disappointed they used little baby shrimp. I could barely taste the seafood flavor. Thankfully, the crepes were good so I was still semi-satisfied.
Another good thing about Ti Couz is the mulled wine. Do yourself a favor and order the table a jug of this. Even if you're not pleased with your crepe, the wine will appease you and make everything all better. -

Very good, decadent crepes.
I ordered a savory crepe and a sweet crepe. It was a bit too much food, the perfect amount would have been one and a half crepes.
You can build your own crepes from a long list of ingredients, or you can pick from one of their suggested combos. I wasn't feeling creative on a Sunday morning so I chose the latter.
On the savory menu, I ordered shrimp (excuse me, CREVETTES), with parsley butter & "sea food sauce." The sauce was very rich and complemented the shrimp nicely. For dessert I ordered a crepe with nutella and mixed berries. It's hard to go wrong with anything that contains nutella. The crepes themselves were well made, just the right amount of crispy.
I'll be back. -

One of my top spots in SF for comfort food. Having spent time in Paris when I was younger, there's nothing quite like the combination of a homemade crepe de sarasin and cidre. This place is as close to Bretagne as I've seen this side of the Atlantic, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences.
If the rumors of closure are true, this would be one of my sad mournings of loss in the great city of SF. I truly hope something can happen to keep this place alive, whether at its current location or, if need be, somewhere else with lower rent and a cozier spot. -

I really liked the casual decor and atmosphere of this place. Plus the awning caught my eye as we were driving by, before I even knew this was the place we were planning on going! The square crepes looked really cool but it turns out they just make big round ones and fold them into squares.
My friend and I decided to sit at the bar to watch the chef cook the crepes. This was really nice as we got to see a lot of the different flavors being made. We'd take pictures and the chef would pose for us, we'd ask questions, and he'd let us try some of the sauces.
The seafood definitely didn't look fresh as reflected in some other reviews. We'd just come from a dessert spot so we went with a savory crepe, and settled on the ratatouille with mushroom sauce as that seemed a unanimously popular choice.
Ratatouille w/ Mushroom Sauce - the vegetables were NOT fresh. As with the seafood, they'd been sitting in containers all day. They must've cooked a giant batch in the morning and used it throughout the day. The vegetables were definitely soggy and old. Only one corner of our crepe had a slight crisp - it was actually more soggy but that may be because of the extra mushroom sauce, which they pour over the whole thing. About the sauce - pretty good flavor, but it has this icky sour aftertaste.
Have to say, the sausage crepe looked good. They cook an egg sunny side up egg in it and there's lots of meat, cooked fresh. IF I ever come back, I guess I'll go with that one. -

This place is super cute..takes me back to my days in France.
All of their crepes are delicious and I enjoyed my caramelized onion and mushroom crepe very much. They also have some great bottles of cider that are not heavy on the alcohol but really nice to share over a crepe in their cute cafe. I would recommend this for a date, a place to catch up with friends or just a great meal. -

Besides having every cuisine you could possibly be craving, every restaurant in the Mission has a full bar. And that just makes it THE mega foodie spot. Oh you lucky, lucky Mission-dwellers...
So, it isn't a surprise that I travel all the way from the East Bay to reunite with some good friends and stumble upon yet ANOTHER gem in this area: Ti Couz (pronounced 'Tea Cooz'...though I keep pronouncing it ' Tea Cwa'...mainly bc I personally think it's much sexier...but...I deviate...I deviate...so...back to the review!)
#88 on the 7x7 SF must eat list, I'm bound to try the French Cider and a Buckwheat crepe.
But, of course, we must start off with THE Ti Couz '10 Cocktail -- a beautifully blended concoction of vodka, blueberry puree, triple sec, muddled mint, squeeze of lime, and a touch of champagne. All in all makes for a very strong, refreshing drink. Followed by 2 rounds of the French Cider which is very distinctive from your typical fruity cider. It's a lot more bold and flavorful! Plus, served in a bowl...feels more authentic! (If this is they way they drink cider in France..oui oui! I'm down with it!).
On to the crepes! When you open the menu your mind is totally like WOAH...that's a lot of tiny writing! But then you read closely and realize that it's all about the same thing just written out in multiple variations. Which, makes it a lot simpler to extract. But, here's all you really need to know about the crepes:
1) If you order anything with MUSHROOM -- you get your crepe topped with the "MUSHROOM SAUCE" - which tastes like an upscale version of cream of mushroom.
2) If you order anything with SEAFOOD -- you get your crepe topped with the "SEAFOOD SAUCE" - which tastes just like lobster bisque/tikka massala
3) If you order a crepe with both, no, you won't get both sauces. (I asked.)
So, the 3 of us ordered the:
- Tomato, Basil, Cheese
- Mushroom, Carmelized Onions, Cheese (mushroom sauce)
- Shrimp, Mushroom (seafood sauce)
All VERY comforting. Each easily sliced into 4 healthy pieces, which can easily be shared as a group.
3 crepes + multiple drinks = welcome home!
Cocktails cost $8.
French Cider cost $4.
Crepes range around $10.
Must be back for the Bloody Mary's and Dessert Crepes...
