Stumbled across this place while in North Beach, MD. Full disclosure: the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed down, but this worked out fine.
They had a reasonably priced menu, maybe save for the crab cakes, but that is pricier anywhere. Had the crab dip which was delicious, even my 3 year old liked it.
We had the crab cakes, and they were a little oily, (fried), but were delicious, as were the fried shrimp. We ordered the baked sweet potatoes, but only one was cooked thoroughly. They were great about asking if we wanted a replacement. Great selection on beer, including Spaten, which you don't see everywhere.
Service was attentive and quick - we asked for alot of things (such is the nature of dining with a 3 year old), and she was great, so we left a sizable tip.
I'd have given 4 stars if not for:
- restrooms. How has the MD Dept of Health not cited this yet? It was among the top 10 nastiest I've ever seen. If I'd seen that before we ate, we'd have left.
- Tartar sauce. Something was just "off" with this. Cant put my finger on it.
Worth it for a quick bite, but if you are expecting gourmet dining, move on cowboy. -

Chesapeake Beach, MD
This place isn't the most original, in terms of ambiance, decor or menu items, but it's decent and I've found it to be pretty consistent.
They've got the basic bar and grill fare from potato skins, soups, salads, steaks, burgers, and Marylandy stuff like crab cakes. We are more of the burgers, steaks and pork chops people so I can't speak authoritatively much beyond that.
I've had the pork chops and found them to be flavorful, tender and well prepared. Whatever they use in the marinade is delicious! The baby back ribs are a fair effort, not excessively fatty like you will sometimes find, with a good (if unoriginal) sauce. I love that they offer a baked sweet potato as a side, and I will always order that over anything else. My S.O. always get the chili burger if for no other reason than he doesn't see them much in restaurants and they make him nostalgic. He truly has no opinion on whether he likes Thursday's chili burger, he just likes the idea of having it.
The wait staff can, indeed be hit-or-miss (get distracted talking to friends, texting or disappearing for stretches of time), but it's nothing so egregious I'd refuse to return. I've only gone at off-times when it's fairly quiet, so I'm not sure what it's like during peak times. Sometimes it smells overwhelmingly like disinfectant. While I appreciate their dedication to cleanliness, it can be pretty off-putting. Overall, however I'm glad to have this as an option! -

I was on my way over to this place and I had my family's meal planned out before I even saw the menu; wife was going to have the salt encrusted Ono with truffle, my four year old daughter was having the caviare and tuna tataki and I was having the char grilled pork tenderloin with a warm hazelnut pudding over black berry compote for desert!
Upon arriving, I realized their menu may not be as sophisticated as I had hoped, wife had the oyster sandwich, daughter had to settle for peanut butter and jelly and I had the prime rib sandwich.
Building was clean, staff was friendly and fast. The food was pretty good, not over fascinating, just pretty good. The $4 peanut butter and jelly sandwich was as good as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich could get, the oyster sandwich was decent and my prime rib sandwich was ok--they took a prime rib steak and stuffed it in a bun--not super creative but it tasted ok.
Recommend checking it out if you're bored. -

North Beach, MD
Standard beer and grill fare - crab cakes and french fries are pretty tasty, and the service is generally of a decent speed and always friendly.
My wife and I enjoy this as a good local North Beach joint to drop in and grab a burger or the like for dinner with the in-laws. It's right down the street from where we live so it's an easy walk to get there.
The staff rotates quite a bit, but they're all very friendly and enthusiastic - service is pretty quick and they're fairly on the ball.
The food is pretty tasty, and the crab dip is a lovely way to start your meal, especially if you've got a nice cold Blue Moon beer with a slice of orange to go with.
Sports on all of the tvs ove rthe bar... on game nights, it can get pretty loud. The patio is generally quieter, but it's also where smoking is allowed.... the bay breeze wafts most of it away, but if you've got a real chimney sitting nearby, you will smell smoke.
Prices are reasonable - food is above average, servers are nice - works for me! -

I tried this place for the first time and it was just OK. Nothing spectacular about the food. I ordered the crab cakes and they were good, a little oily but good. I also got the onion rings(can't mess those up) and some mexican rice that didn't have much taste. My husband ordered the fried seafood platter and he said his meal was just OK. The meals weren't the worst we've had but definately not the best.
The items are over priced and the customer service was just OK. We had to flag down our waitress for one refill and she didn't give us straws.
Lastly, the decor needs a Chef Ramsey make-over. They are way overdue for a dining room renovation. If it wasn't for the fact that my children were starving from a long day at the beach, we would have went some place else based on the decor. -

Well I have given this place a few chances and still get tricked into dining here by friends occasionally. I really think the place is over priced for the quality. Don't order anything that says Steak or Prime Rib it will be tuff as shoe leather. Basically sandwiches our the only option here or sea food if you dare. So lunch is a good bet and you will be happy. The bar is good and if you get drunk, you could probably order a steak or prime rib and be very satisfied. This part of the beach has many little places to eat at this is the largest so good for large parties and kids. Service is pretty good.

This place was great, the staff was friendly and food was great! I got the crabcakes, they were delicious, lump crab too---no filler! Get it broiled. My husband got the steak, and liked it, he is particular about his steaks, so that is a good sign- very tender, cooked just as he ordered it. We watched the World Cup in the bar area, was a good time.

Here's the deal. It's probably the best amongst really, really weak competition. Ambience is unoriginal, menu is uninteresting, and I really can't stand the wait staff, and this is coming from someone who eats here probably every two weeks.
Now, I've had some really good meals here, and I've had stuff that were basically forgettable the moment I left the door. It's totally hit or miss on who is in the kitchen and how busy they may be. Friends like the crab cake soup but given that we live basically in 'crab central Maryland' I was actually hoping for something more interesting. I often get the NY strip steak but run into the consistency problem--sometimes it's mouthwatering good, and sometimes it's only good to use as a door stop.
Wait staff changes frequently, and some can be nice at times, but as my mother said after visiting a few different times 'they make me feel like I'm imposing on even when I'm just trying to order a meal'.
There isn't much in North Beach, and this is probably one of the better options, but if you are expecting a meal you wont' forget, this is not the place. I'll still go back--it's not like I have much of a choice. -

The staff is friendly and the crabcakes are pretty good! Eat outside on the patio on a date or watch a game inside (on a date, that's cool too!)

Chesapeake Beach, MD
We just ate at Thursdays last night. Service was very fast and the food came out quickly. My family ordered the Cream of Crab soup (a favorite of ours). Each entree was good - Crab Cake platter, Stuffed Flounder, Salmon and Catfish. Dessert is generally cheesecake and Friase (really an ice cream sundae in a mug). If you don't mind lackluster decor, you shouldn't be disappointed.

I always order the same thing here -- Ribeye Steak Sandwich with Fries. It's great! Service depends on the server, a couple are pretty bad. They have a restaurant section and a bar section with TVs. Looks like a good place to watch a game, if you're into that.

I have no complaints about about the service, but... My wife ordered a salad and the lettuce was wilted and brown, the mushrooms were not fresh. There was a layer of dust on the the fish hanging on the wall. There were grease stains on the celing. The male bathroom was just gross. From waht i saw the entire restaurant needs a really good cleaning. The rest of the food we orded was ok, nothing to rave about though. I dont think we will be returning.
