1155 W Sunset BlvdI Love coming to this Casino. I've won and I've lost which i think is pretty standard for gambling. Their buffett is really good! Great Selection. My mom and I always go here when I come to visit. One thing I can say is I have better luck on the machines then the tables! Never go to the Lady dealers! They always take my money! Anyways, yes I love this place, im actually going on Friday!!! Wish me LUCK!!!!

I just heard , as I'm sure most everyone has , THEY just broke ground on their new one BILLION dollar home improvement.
In the last few years i have come to the conclusion i personally would really rather have an Indian standing by the door holding a hat , and simply say to me on my way in ,excuse me sir THIS is not your day ,please throw your money here and continue on with your life.....

Below average. Everything looks okay, but the food is horribly underseasoned and overcooked. They make the food nice and mushy for al the senior citizens who eat here. There were just a few vegetarian options, but I mostly just ate desserts (which were decent) and mac 'n' cheese. For this price) $16) I'd rather eat at that new Chinese buffet near the nugget in Rocklin (not really though, i'm boycotting buffets).

This place is surreal. They want to keep the atmosphere "up" and so, music is bumping all the way out to the parking lot. I was instantly transported back to the jr. high days of wandering around Great America where all of the faux rocks in the park are actually speakers. Inside the casino is a beehive of activity, light and sound; there are bright and sparkling lights, a constant hum of conversation, bing! bing! bing!'ing of slot machine action, and enough billowing smoke to make even Snoop Dogg proud .
If you sign up for for the Thunder Valley club, they will give you a free $5 dollar playing card AND a mug. That night I got to play 25 cent machine poker for hours (on their tab), enjoy a refreshing beverage or two, and actually ended up earning an extra $2.50. Look at me, I'm a winner! Ah, to the victor goes the spoils.
My spoils were: $7.50 total winnings, a mug, and the smell of cigarettes on my hair that lingered for two days thereafter.

Thunder Valley is conveniently close to Sacramento. You can tell yourself and your friends and family you're going to the Roseville Galleria and secretly sneak off to gamble as it's about ten minutes or less away. But that's totally not what I do.
There is a large selection of slots, one cent, 5 cent, 25 cent, a dollar. Usually the cheaper machines want you to play 25 lines these days, I find that slightly annoying. They also got rid of the Jackpot Stampede machines by the food court and that really annoys me, but whatever. If you have any inkling to play the slots there's so much variety that you'll get sucked into something.
I am a blackjack kind of lady. The tables are pretty decent. The dealers are mostly pretty friendly. The limits can be high at night, especially friday or saturday, $20 a hand, but they do seem to have eased off that a little in the past year. It's easy to find $10 minimum tables during the day.
There's a lot of Baccarat and some three card poker kind of games but I've never played any of them so I can't speak to them.
If you're hungry there's a food court with Starbucks, Panda Express, Fatburger, pizza and burritos. The buffet always has a long line at dinner, which I think is a good sign. There's a fancy steakhouse and some sort of Frank Fat's and probably some other places to eat. I can't say I've dined anywhere either than the food court as my main objective is to gamble, not dine.

I don't really gamble. The reason I go to Vegas is to hit the buffets and to act a fool outside my area code.
So I wouldn't go to a casino in the middle of nowhere on the regular for sh*ts-and-giggles. However, a certain parental unit loooooooooves to play the slots. So, being a sport, I go along with said parental unit.
We usually spend several hours there and since I don't gamble, what's a dutiful son to do?
I drink at the Thunder Bar. Their drinks are super-cheap.
I watch the Kings games (boooo!).
And I flirt with the cute, scantily-clad waitresses.
Good times? It's usually just okay. But my patience is sometimes rewarded when said parental unit wins and I get some ducats broken off to me.

Came to thunder valley on 7/7/07. It was crowded. They have a no smoking area which is nice. The rest of the casino is smoking. One buffet area and one upper scale chinese restaurant called Koi palace. Close to the Roseville galleria.
