How many years have I been going here?  Seems like forever.

I live in the burbs, but work in CC.  On the recommendation of a friend, I tried Thunder.  SO much easier than trying to get an appointment at home (yes, I am one of those people who decide that today is the day my hair is too long & I need a cut NOW), and so much more convenient.  Also so much better.  Believe me, there IS a difference between a CC cut and a 'burbs cut, and it ain't just the price.

Stephen is wonderful.  He can cut my hair blindfolded & still do a better job than most with their eyes open.  I trust him implicitly.  If he says something will look good, then that's what we do.  He's got a great sense of humor, he's adorable, and the man knows what he's doing around hair.

I'd love to see him on Shear Genius, but then again he might smack one of those other prima dona hair stylists.  They are not worthy to sharpen his shears.

This is a small, skinny salon (building is narrow!) on 19th Street where I get my hair done by Louis M. It's old-school, but in a good way - not in the "trying to be old-school" way.
If you want your hair to look amazing, especially the color, and you want your stylist to be uber-professional, always on time, and serious about his work, make an appointment at Thunder. I spend $225 for highlights and a cut, which is outrageous, which I can't afford, but I do it because I know I will look great.

For an eyebrow wax, on the other hand, make sure their aesthetician doesn't take off too much like she did to me. I even showed her a picture of my desired brows, and she still made my brows too far apart. I am still waiting for the Great Eyebrow Goddess to come along. For the love of God, when are these "brow-stylists" going to realize that natural brows are "in"?? Stop following some ridiculous rule about where the brow has to meet the corner of your eye BLAH BLAH BLAH. Someone help me please.

I've been going to Thunder for 6 or 7 years, ever since I started working in Center City.

Along with Pat D, I also go to Stephen, who is the best I've ever had.  I won't let anyone else touch my hair, he handles both my color and cut.  He makes every time a fun experience and instinctively knows what looks good on people.  I've seen him cut others hair as well, and it always looks fantastic.
