Thrive is amazing. I went to Thrive when considering laser hair removal. For me - a new and nervous procedure. was very fortunate to have Jessica Aevermann as my technician. She made this whole experience AMAZING! She was always friendly and informative. I always had so many questions and each of them were answered. And more importantly the laser hair removal worked perfectly! I am so happy with the results. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I primarily woked with Jessica, but the rest of the staff was always professional and pleasant.
Thanks Thrive!!

After this was posted my friend was contacted and she got a full refund back. I know she should get her own account but whatever. I am paraphrasing here but she told me to give this place 3 stars because she believes that she shouldn't have had to go through a hassle to get the refund. We checked with her bank too it did clear. So she is grateful she got the refund but felt it could have been handled better. if you're reading this buddy, I am not writing any more reviews for you get your own account! Once she does I am letting her write this out on her own and deleting this one completely. Below is the original story.
The following is an experience my friend had:
She went to this place with her mother for mother's day. She decided to get her a med treatment and told the receptionist that she was going to pay for it. She also stated before the treatment that her mother did not know how to speak english so, she had to read the consent forms before she signed anything. She also opened up a credit card through them so she can get her mother a treatment in the future.
After her mother finished her treatment, she paid the treatment in full. The receptionist, the nurse, her mother and my friend were talking about getting a package deal for her mother, but her mom wasn't really too sure about it. She said yes to everything even though they were unsure. Since they did not start the package deal or set an appointment my friend figured the package could be canceled. Not realizing, when she called the receptionist she told my friend that she could not cancel because her mother signed a third consent form without her looking over it.
That's bullshit considering that she already told the receptionist that her mother can't sign anything without her looking over the forms. Her mom thought she had also looked over this separately. Apparently she signed those while my friend was paying for the treatments! They refuse to refund the money!
This place is Ok if you are looking for a "fluff" spa. If you are just looking for a facial or microdermabrasion...it is fine. For any laser treatement--don't bother. They did some serious damage and now I have a scar. Got a full refund but not without a big hassle.
Owner: For the record, I don't have anything to gain by making up a story about your business.
Hmm microdermabrasion. The term itself sound scary and invasive (we're talking about the manual sloughing of dead skin cells after all), but my experience was the exact opposite. Jessica is kind and thorough, and explained the entire process prior to the procedure. She likened the feel of microdermabrasion to a 'cat licking your face' and the description was spot on!
Thrive uses organic products which are not only gentle, but smell good, in a fresh-scrubbed way. After Jessica finished the treatment, I noticed a visible difference immediately. And my face feels smooth as satin... both texture and tone are greatly improved. No redness, no irritation, and no sales pressure. Tthe environment is really soothing back in the treatment rooms. Can't wait to return for my light peel!
I want to add my recommendation for Korina. She definitely makes you feel special, both before and after a treatment. It is clear she loves what she does.
She also models the results you can expect from Thrive's treatments. Her skin looks like porcelain!
Thrive is still perfection in my book. I recently went for a microderm appointment with Jess and was more then satisfied. I am updating my review to let you know for the whole month of Feb they have 5 or 6 awesome $59 deals. They now have an additional location, on Dearborn with parking!

Wow, where do I begin? I am so thrilled with the experience I had at Thrive I almost can't put… Read more »
I made an appointment via the "Pretty In Pink" promotion special deals. I was in the market for a spa/salon where I can go on a monthly basis to get facials; therefore, this was the perfect reason to try out a place for the cheap price of $31.
The "spa" was located in the professional building that's probably affiliated with Illinois Masonic hospital. Parking is available in the building but it's $4 dollar with validation. I think if you speak with the security guard nicely, he may validate your parking ticket for free.
The waiting room is like a doctor's waiting room, but very soothing and have a spa-like feel to it (w/ sound of running water and dim lighting). Dr. Summers greeted me immediately and said that Korina, the esthetician, will be right with me. I was beginning to like this place already. Anyway, met with Korina and was led to a room where we discussed about the procedure and what other services they provide at this spa.
Long story short, Korina was fabulous and was very gentle with my facial. I was very relax and while she was putting hot towels on my face, she also gave me a quick shoulder massage. Did I mentioned that she also gave me a gentle chemical peel for another $31. It was too good to turn down. Overall, I was very impressed with the services I've received there. I am definitely coming back. Instead of spending $31 dollars, I spend $200 on this visit, but it was my choice.
I came here because fo the Pretty in Pink special that was going on as well. The receptionist answering the phone was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised when I got here the lack of attention there was at the desk. In fact no one was there for the first 10 minutes, and there was another guy who had an appointment there who ended up telling someone that I was there needed help. The aesthetician who ended up helping me was Jessica. She gave me lots of information on the hair removal process and gave me a microdermabrasion on my face instead. The scent of the products smell really good, and it's very relaxing. They seem to have great promotions and pricing here. They guarantee an 80 - 95% hair reduction or else they give you a year's worth of touch ups for free. She's honoring the same pricing of the Pretty and Pink deal for me this weekend since we had to wait for the hair follicle cycle to be right.
I came here for a Pretty in Pink special for one microdermabrasion session, and I absolutely loved it! Jessi was sweet and professional, and the ILIKE organic products she used during my mini facial smelled like desserts! I've gone to two facialists prior to Jessi, and none were as thorough or relaxing. My skin feels like a baby's! I was hoping for a longer session (my microderm + facial only lasted 30 mins), but it could just be that I signed up for just a deal, which was a fraction of Thrive's real price for a microdermbrasion ($100/session). You can also purchase a packages of multiple sessions for a small discount. In addition, Thrive is more than just a med spa, it's a wellness center too, so there are nutritionists and traditional Chinese medical practices as well. Overall, everything about my experience here was calming - from the gurgling wall fountain in the waiting room, their plush suede chairs, somewhat tribal music, and the service I received.
