Don't u love it when ur third or fifth choice ends up being a pleasant surprise?

Spoonhouse was too small, Azabu was too busy, Furusato had a wait too... And so there was Three Spice with no wait and my nifty yelp app showed a solid four stars!
I browsed quick tips and the Bolds and our group of eight and a half ordered two orders of grilled pork, pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, pad that, yellow curry and red curry.
The grilled pork came with yummy sticky rice and some veggies. The pork had a nice sweet BBQ flavor.
Enjoyed the pad see ew more than the pad thai.
Pineapple fried rice was delicious with a good amount of pineapple, raisins and cashews.
The red curry had a kick and the yellow curry had a nice sweetness.
Gratuity was added and it came out to less than $80 for all of us. Great deal!

I love thai... esp in the southbay because it's so hard to find the right spot. I used to come here for the drunken noodles which was okay. Not the best or the worst just enough to hit the spot.

This weekend was one of those weekends where hubby and I had our Thai craving so we decided to go to three spice. Everything was as usual, we ordered our drunken noodle, sate, chicken bbq, pineapple fried rice and two thai teas. We took our food to go and while we were about to clean off our pineapple fried rice my hubby almost gagged at what appeared to be a hair... not only a pc of hair but a CURLY one at that... OMG i still have left over gag spells every time I think back to that discovery.

I immediately have hubby call and the person on the other doesnt seem to care or understand how grossed out we were. I could not believe how insensitive they were with the whole situation that I took the foods over for them to examine and demand a refund minus our thai teas.

The owner, I dont know if there was a language barrier, was rude and didn't even apologize for the incident. When he refunded the money I told him I will pay for the thai teas because we drank it and he had the audacity to give me an attitude when I told him I didn't have cash and to take it out of my atm card. WTH! I would think he would be more accomodating. Weird!

Because of Three Spice I will never see Thai food the same again. Thanks for the great diet plan! *GAG*

I've only just recently (I'll say five or six months tops) discovered the wonders of Thai food and this is my counterpart's go-to Thai place. Why? I'm not quite sure.

I'll admit that I always order the same entree when we get take-out, the Pad Kee Mao but for some reason it's always different. Sometimes it's burnt and it NEVER has the same vegetables (sometimes not any at all).

I'll give three stars because usually the food is better while in-house eating and when they do get the take out right, it's pretty good but I hate the inconsistency.

    Not Good!

I ordered food to go tonight.

I got a hair in my yellow curry.
    So Gross!

But then to make matters worse, I got another hair in my Pad Kee Mao Noodles.

    TWO HAIRS!!!!
    Disgusting!

    Don't go to this place.

Talk about overrated.  Rather small portion of their grilled pork.  The soup made my guest sick, and she never gets sick.  Very mediocre food.  Probably the worst Thai place I've been to in the south bay.  The older couple were somewhat friendly.

The food quality still stands, and the second time I ate here I realized that the people staring in at you issue isn't really a big deal because they'll just pull down the blinds if you ask them to, or you can sit on a table against the window overlooking their patio. Cream cheese filled wontons (I think they call them something else but I can't remember!) are still the best here.

This place is the best local Thai restaurant to visit, and it is well known as a lunchtime establishment. The kitchen is in full view of the restaurant and service is speedy and professional. there is casual feel to the establishment, as the workers are dressed more casually than the patrons. such is the life of a delicious Thai restaurant.

So, I love Thai food!!! I got hooked on it the first time I tried it in Melrose years and years ago. But I never found another restaurant that could meet my expectations. One came close, but only close. Three Spice is another "close" call.

I always complained to my boyfriend that we don't do anything, so one night after picking me up from class, randomly he says he wants to grab something to eat. I was surprised because for years I thought this guy didn't do that, eat. lol!

He took me to Three Spice and I was a little skeptical. Only because I've heard some negative ratings. We ordered these fried shrimp balls. and they were tasty! I loved it! For our main course, he ordered green curry chicken and I ordered BBQ chicken. Unfortunately, my dish wasn't anything to jump for joy for, but I liked the curry he ordered.

All in all though, I enjoyed the experience. Or maybe it was the company? :)

The yellow curry with tofu is incredibly delicious. I haven't had thai curry this delicious in a while.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty small, but it looks pretty decent. (best of all it looks CLEAN)

The price of the menu items were great! Our table had green curry with tofu, yellow currry with tofu and pad thai with tofu an extra order of rice and hot tea for $27. You can't beat that! :)

I work less than 5 minutes away from here. I think I just found my new favorite lunch spot!

My boyfriend and I decided to do Thai, so I yelped Thai restaurants that were close and found this one in the search. The service was good and our waitress was very polite. I had the Pad Thai with chicken which was delicious and he had the Grilled BBQ chicken with garlic rice. Both meals were excellent and the portions were of decent size. I would definitely go here again.

I like this place. It's nice and has a good crowed sometimes, but I almost feel like it has good and bad days. I have been there 3 times and 2 out of the three it wad good. Once during the week it was terrible service and food wad mediocre. So 2 out of 3 isnt bad. The food is amazing, the restaurant is nice and quaint. And the location is nice. Give this place a shot, and like Andrew Zimern says, "always try it twice before u decide the verdict."

My Pad See Ew was burned and the woman there was very rude. I tried to be kind about how I approached the subject and she made a big deal about the fact that when she originally asked if everything was okay I said "yes" but I hadn't had the burnt part at that point. Either way I had a good experience until I was asked to explain why I had a complaint before all the other patrons. On the upside my boyfriend's Curry was awesome.

Review #150 goes to my newest addiction for 2012. I found myself lately with a serious craving for some Thai food. I saw this little joint while driving through Gardena one afternoon. When I searched it on Yelp and saw that my homegirl Ciara G had already sampled and reviewed with high praise I had high hopes for Three Spice Thai Kitchen and couldn't wait to try them. Now I'm no Thai food aficionado by any means but I do dig me some pad thai. Up until now I had only had pad Thai with a flat noodle and with or without chicken. When I arrived at TSTK I saw they had an "Ultimate" Pad Thai lunch special ($10.95). It was prepared with what appeared to be a glass noodle, sprouts, carrots, tofu (which I can't believe I actually enjoyed cuz' I never like that stuff), and plenty of nice size shrimp and calamari. I was instanty hooked! I returned the very next day and tried their Yellow curry w/ shrimp and brown rice ($8.50). Perfectly spicy and again they didn't scrimp on the shrimp. I saw an Escolar Tuna plate on their specials board that I'm yearning to try and a lamb sate' dish that sounds tasty too. Service is fast and friendly. Portion size is plentiful. Free delivery-catering(minimum order $15 within 3 mile radius). Three Spice Thai Kitchen you will be seeing more of me in the days to come!

PROS: Service was good, outside seating, food came out quickly, and cheap

    CONS: Portions wasn't that great.

This place is in a rotation for lunch with some of my coworkers. First time I came here, my impression of it was good. Parking is horrible though. There is like 2 sports to park at and the rest is street.

Try to eat outside, the decor there is pretty nice. The people here are nice. They are get your orders out quickly. Food here is good, but the portions isn't that great. I don't know anything other Thai restaurant so I can't really compare

Overall, this is one of the least visited place for lunch out of our rotation. Likely to stay that way.

Interesting thai place in Gardena. Parking can be a little tough, but they do technically have a parking lot. The food was ok, but i found it too sweet for my tastes, and made a little wet.

I was happy to see that they served mee krop because you don't find that at many places.

    Can I say overrated?

Price? Cheap.  Portion? uh... I'm not a 5 year old.

When you buy from them, you feel good that your pocket feels light, but so does your stomach.  Stingiest portions in all of Gardena when it came to Thai food.  I am not surprised.  They had an "Ultimate Pad Thai"  more like "Ultimate rip off"   The man working the cashier told me it's A LOT more than their regular pad thai.

First off, the ultimate came with clear noodles.  2nd, it was pure seafood (no warnings there), 3rd, the portion was the same as regular pad thai only served in their square box as opposed to their normal rectangular to go boxes.

I'm not saying their taste is bad, but surely, it's overrated.  There has GOT to be a good place to find THAI food here in Gardena, but alas, it seems PALMS in Hollywood is a lot better with not only selection, taste, but the awesome the Elvis entertainment as well.

I use to frequent Three Spice when I worked a few blocks away from here.

Lunch hours on a weekday was always busy because of all the corporate business men/women stopping by for a quick lunch.

I think their lunch specials, which is a good deal attracts all of these patrons.

I usually called ahead and ordered mine to-go.
By the time I got there after 15~20mins of ordering, it was ready.
Sometimes, there would be a wait due to the rush, but the staffs were accommodating and working hard.

This past weekend, my friends and I dined in for dinner. The place is tiny  and can occupy about 25 people max. There are additional outdoor seating. We got lucky and grabbed a table for us 4 people indoors, but soon enough the place became a full house. Around 7~8pm is the peak dinner rush.

We ordered a little bit of everything:

    Tom Kha Soup with veggies
Green curry with chicken and side of brown rice
    Shrimp fried rice
Pad Kee Maow with pork  (flat noodles with onions, basil and chile)

    Everything was flawless, no complaints!
It was my first time to try their fried rice but it was not a miss. The shrimp they used were big and plump. The rice was well flavored with a hint of nam pla (fish sauce) and stir fried to perfection.

I just love their Tom Kha soup that I can finish the giant bowl all to myself. The noodle soup version is equally good! It's kind of like a bowl of pho but with Tom Kha soup instead.

The bill came out to be about $10 per person, what an inexpensive and satisfying meal!!!

The only complaint we had is that the servers often came by our table in attempt to bus dishes even though we weren't finished... We got the impression that they wanted to kick us out since we stayed for about 3 hours, eating slowly and chitchatting.

Also, not to forget to mention, their parking is pretty limited although they do have a private lot out in the front and in the back. It can be very crammed so in that case, try finding a spot on the side street (NOT Western Ave.) which won't be that difficult.

Yayy to food that delivers! :DDD
I live super close, so I have the option for them to deliver and it makes my life so much more convenient.

Thai food is one of my favorite type of food of all to eat, and i'm so lucky to have three spice near by!  It's no Banana bay or Thai patio, but close enough for me to enjoy and say "I Love Thai Food!"

There's patio seating, indoor seating, delivery service, doest get too busy, friendly service, minimal parking, and just your good average yummy thai food.

The pad see ew is great, pad thi, tom yum kai, all the fried rices, and the curries are my recommendations.

Try three spice, i enjoyed it for a local thai restaurant very much!

Oh my goodness I love this place! I was never a huge thai fan before a friend turned me onto Three Spice Thai. Now anytime we are in the area we have to stop by.

The best part is they are very affordable. You can dishes that range from 5-8 bucks, and we have on numerous occasions gone there with 4 people and spent around 25 dollars total. Not bad for a sit down restaurant.

I wish they were closer to where I live (or maybe that would be a bad thing).

My co-worker and I randomly tried this place out for lunch one day cuz we were craving Thai food.

This place is quite small and the parking is a bit tricky (especially if it's busy), but the food more than makes up for it!

My favorites so far are the pork pad see yew & thai fried rice w/pork (I like my pork, what can I say).  What I love most about the pork meat here is that it's juicy and full of flavor; I've been to quite a few Thai places that overcook their pork and it comes out super dry and lacking flavor.  The noodles for the pad see yew are cooked well and taste great.  The fried rice has the right mix of spices, it's great.

I'm still trying to get my hands on some mango sticky rice.  Every time I've been there, it was either not in season yet (earlier) or now it's always out of stock.  Boo.

I've also done take out twice and have had no problems.  I just call about 15 mins in advance and by the time I get there, the food's usually ready and piping hot.

Most dishes are about $10 or under.  Great prices for great food w/great portions.

This is my current go-to place for Thai food now.  Be sure to give it a shot!

I just found my new favorite thai restaurant!!!!

I came here with a co-worker who swears by this place. When we drove up, the lot was packed and they had a short wait.

After we were seated, we started with fried tofu that came with a nice garlicky sauce (i think). It was amazing.

We then got curry. I got the chicken with masman that includes; roasted peanut, sweet onion, carrot and potato. Also comes with a side of yummy brown rice.

My co-worker got beef with red curry.

I could not put my dish down, the curry mixed with all the veggies and peanuts made a unforgettable thai lunch.  All the flavors came out so well. My only minor complaint is that I did not have that much chicken. I had to fish for it and could not find many pieces.

Because the curry and sauce came out seperatly, I would get a fork full of rice then carefully dip it in the curry sauce then stab a veggie or chicken. Ohhhh, I'm drooling about this place right now.

The inside is very small, maybe 10-15 people tops can fit inside. Outside you have a better chance of getting a seat.

Did I mention how dirt cheap the lunch specials are?  $20.50 minus tip was our TOTAL!! That was with two curry meals and tofu appetizer!

    I will return soooon!

    Very delicious.

I tasted the Red Panang and Pad See Ew.

The curry was super good. I would have liked more rice but I thought the seasoning and amount of curry given was perfect. Nice and soupy but still creamy and full of all the coconut and spicy curry flavor.

Pad See Ew was excellent as well. The problem I find with some thai places is that they do not sauce their noodles well. Three Spice nailed it. The sauce really seeped into the noodles so you could taste it throughout. The chicken was a little overdone but no big deal.

Overall, loved it and would definitely come back. Small place  and very little parking though so it's better for small groups.

My favourite Thai restaurant in the area. The food is none too sweet, just enough balance. I don't like overly sweet pad thai, if you mix some chili into this Pad Thai is absolutely delightful. They also have amazing creamcheese crab wontons.

The service is always friendly although they often ask me if it's my first time there, which confuses me since I recognize all of them and with my long blonde hair and identical twin, I'm usually rather hard to forget. It's next door to a kbbq which means there are very few parking spaces, the kbbq it one of those all you can eat for 9.95 type things.

As a side note, I always see hot policemen here. So if you are looking for one, you might stop by.

Oh and i have to comment on their curry bc i'm not a huge curry fan, but their curry (green curry) was AMAZING!!! It has a bit of a kick to it and it's a little coconutty but trust me, it's sooooooooooooo good. Their brown rice is bomb too.

The only complaint is maybe their location hahaha bc of where they're located, parking is kinda sucky...not a lot of room. AND bc i'm a pig and greedy, I wish they gave us more food and more rice with the delicious curry... yummm yummmmmmmmMMMM!!!

Yes, Three Spice has limited seating and parking, and the service might not be as top notch as some picky people might want.

But if you're looking for a place with awesome curry at a great price? Then bring your stomach and leave your snob at home. This wasn't my first Thai rodeo, and their curry absolutely hits the spot. Slightly thicker than other places, nice and creamy with coconut milk, I absolutely recommend the yellow and red curry. An extra thumbs up for the perfectly cooked shrimp, I've been back at this place more times than I can count. I haven't even bothered to try other items on their menu,  try this place out if you've been jonesing for some curry.

I phone ordered 2 meals from the lunch menu for my mom, dad and me.  I automatically assumed that 2 orders would be enough for us 3, and I was right!  The portions were huge - we didn't even finish both.

We ordered the pad thai with chicken ($6.25) and the broccoli/mushroom stir fry with chicken ($7.25).  The prices are very reasonable, and I actually think they're pretty cheap for how much food you get.  The pad thai was a tad sweet, but still okay.  I was not a fan of the broccoli/mushroom stir fry.  The mushrooms were bordering on rubbery - I hate rubbery mushrooms!  I give 3 stars, though, because the order was made during lunchtime and the place was PACKED, but they still were able to complete it in 15 minutes!  Plus, the prices are really good.

I think my parents might order from here again for lunch (since they work near here).

This place is not the best place to get Thai food but that's only because there are SO many places to get good thai food.

That said, its a very very good choice. Add to that being in Gardena, and I'd say its the best in Gardena for sure. I love Thai food and this place is good. If the reviews I wrote were based on food alone, i'd give it a solid 5 for the effort and the fact that its not in a big thai city.

However part of the review is service. From the 5+ times I've been here service is hit or miss. Most of the time, servers are friendly, quick, and helpful, but there have been times where its very slow. So no 5 stars.

Inside is pretty small, I'd say its best for groups of 4 or LESS. Don't try this place with a large group as you will not sit together and it won't be enjoyable.

Another cool thing about this place is the bathroom. Its weird I know, but I love their restroom here. They have a soothing fountain in there, a pleasant orange scented thingy and its very zen. I like it.

The vibe here is local and laid back, just how I like it. This isn't the high end Thai places you could go to if you wanted great thai food and great service. But if you are stopping here for lunch or to meet up and talk with a friend, its exactly what you'd want it to be.

    I recommend it.

I always have to get the crispy vegetable rolls and spicy garlic shrimp, without a doubt they're both amazing every time. The yellow curry with tofu is good and the pad see eaw with tofu is good as well. The fried bananas with ice cream are very sweet but good if you're craving something sweet.

So far my favorite Thai restaurant! What would i recommend from there? The Pad See Eaw!!! its delicious!! I have tried the same dish at other Thai restaurants and Three Spice just makes its better! I take all my friends here and make them try the Pad See Eaw and they have all liked it! I am glad to live near by such a good restaurant.

If you are a Thai tea person and grave sweets, then hear is the place to go. They have a deliciously sweet Thai tea.

This is one of the if not the best causal Thai restaurants in the south bay. If you like Thai bar BQ chicken you will absolutely love it from here.  The customer service is also great at three Thai.  The only downer is the limited parking. If you can get beyond the limited parking this place is a must eat! Yum

Three Spice Thai Kitchen is a very small neighborhood restaurant (with a bare bones decor) located on Western in Gardena.  They have a few tables inside and a few more outside (I don't believe the patio is shaded).

They are popular for weekday lunch because they feature very attractive prices with most lunch dishes going $6-$7.  Their lunch dishes are not only affordable, but they are quite filling (huge portions here).

The dishes are broken into four groups: (1) grilled meats, (2) meat, veggie and sauce combinations (like beef with oyster sauce), (3) noodles, and (4) curry.  I've had the pad thai here and it was a decent (if not great) version of it.  You can pick the protein that goes into it and pricing varies by protein.  I've also tried the grilled chicken, which featured a lot of moist chicken meat.  Unfortunately, the grilled chicken lacked a crispy, charcoal skin (like the Thai BBQ Chicken at Natalee Thai in Culver City).

I do not go to Natalee Thai anymore.  They are not as good as they used to be and many of their dishes have always been subpar, but their Thai BBQ Chicken was always a winner.

I usually get the grilled pork here.  The grilled pork (like many if not all of their lunch combinations) comes with a small complimentary iceberg salad.  Iceberg is not the most sought after lettuce, but they dress it up nicely with a sweet vinaigrette and lightly fried wonton chips.

The grilled pork also comes with shredded grilled pork (that has a barbecue like char), garlic fried rice, fried wonton, vegetable medley (carrots, broccoli, cabbage), and a sweet-sour-spicy dipping sauce.

The grilled pork is tasty, tender and has a good flavor (not dry either).  The char is nice as well.  Big portion of meat too.  It is not the best quality of pork.  The shredded and broken texture of the meat showcases a lack of care in the butchering/cooking process.  The meat also has a little too much cartilage.  There is a bit of fat too, but it is rendered down enough and provides good flavor.  Still, the meat is good for the low price offered here.

The garlic fried rice is okay.  Not great and not much in terms of garnishes but tasty enough.  The fried (filled) wonton here is often served lukewarm to cold.

The mixed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, cabbage) are good.  They taste boiled and they may even be boiled in a good stock because they have a good flavor for seemingly bland looking vegetables.  The veggies are tender but not soggy and go well with the dipping sauce.

Service is quick here and they do a good job of turning over tables to handle the lunch rush.

Three Spice Thai Kitchen provides a good balance of quality and value.  Portion sizes are large and several of the dishes are good.  While their food may not be among the best Thai food in the city, the good prices here make Three Spice Thai Kitchen one of the cheap-but-still-okay sit-down lunch restaurants in the Gardena area.

They have a few parking spaces in a lot adjacent to the restaurant.  Parking is also available on the side streets (free parking).

Ain't nothing better than a big bowl of spicy coconut creamy curry broth on an endless rainy day.

My very first curry was a Masaman Curry and I immediately fell in love. I prefer red curries but will live on the edge a little and get a yellow curry once in a blue moon. As soon as I saw Masaman on their menu I knew what I was getting. Choice of meat (chicken), potatoes, carrots, peanuts and an added twist of sweet onions.

My big deep bowl of piping hot curry goodness came out in no time. I could tell just by looking at the broth that I was going to love it. First bite....yup it was love. I have not had a good Masaman curry in a long time.

Just the right amount of everything. Rich and spicy and calmed by the right amount of coconut milk. The broth was spot on in the thickness department. My bowl was filled with a generous portion of all white meat chicken (huge plus), large chunks of carrots and potatoes, roasted peanuts and char grilled sweet onions that added a special flavor with every bite.

The have brown rice as an option which makes me very happy and their Thai Iced Tea passed the tasty thai tea test. I just wished they had cream cheese wontons.

I was the only one there when I dined for a late lunch (3pm). Service was prompt and sweet. A gentleman (regular customer) came in to place a takeout order and the gal was such a doll with him and helped him decide on a new item to try.

There is a teeny tiny parking lot with about 5 spaces. Or you can always snag street parking in the residential neighborhood just around the corner.

My delicious lunch was only $10.70 for a big bowl of curry and a thai iced tea. If I didn't get the thai tea I could have been out for there for $10 including tax and tip.

As my buddy kent d. says...Happy Eats!

So this is about the 4th time ive been here, but also the first time i've ordered earlier for a pickup to go. Duke C. called in the order at 12pm and was told the food would be ready in 15-20 min. We arrive the place is packed and we ask the guy working if the food was ready, by giving him name and phone number. He looks around and find our order sheet on the bottom of a stack and says no not ready, and (to me it seemed like he was giving us attitude) asks do we want to leave or wait another 20 minutes. At this point Duke and I decide to stay.

We pay the guy and ask why is it taking so long and he says first come first serve. I have no problem with that. So we play Words with Friends on the iphone outside. We see other takeout orders being made, and are wondering why not just make ours since we have already paid and are waiting. Whatevers though, first come first serve. Then to our horror 2 tables that sat down after we have paid and have been standing there (they asked if we were in line for a table, when they got there, so i know it was them) get their food before us. Now Duke and I are peeved. If you are going to tell us first come first serve dont pull something like this. We basically could have sat down and ate and left within like 15 minutes, instead we watch the table eat and we are still waiting. At this point its been 45 minutes and nothing yet.

The guy comes out at 12:50pm with our bag and doesnt say sorry or anything (I heard him say sorry for the wait to the other customers). We get in the car drive off and notice we dont have any of the usual sauces they give (hot sauce and the sauce for the fried cheese wonton)

The food is still good, but the experience of having to order to go and wait longer than having just sat down to eat, has left a sour taste in my mouth. In my opinion this place is a victim of its own success, and needs to either staff more people or at least follow the first come first serve mantra.
