Great brewery food in a casual setting.  Pizza, sandwiches, and apps were all top notch.   My favorite beer was the gumballhead.

If Three Floyds was located in chicago, I would go at least once a month.   It is close enough to drive to within an hour of downtown Chicago, but I just don't like going to Indiana.

This is located off of a main street in what looks like a warehouse business district.    I thought I had ended up in the wrong place!  Look closely where your GPS says it should be and you will find it.

So, this was a tough one... I love 3 Floyds.  I've enjoyed their beers for a while now, and was very excited to visit their brew pub.  So, I'm borderline 5 stars without even setting foot in that place.  I will try to be unbiased, though.

There was a bit of a wait to get a table on an early Saturday evening--this was most likely the result of a brewery tour that began @ 3pm.  Evidently a 30 minute wait was  HUGE inconvenience for people waiting in line, as we got to hear about it the whole time we were waiting (I wouldn't suggest Kuma's or Hot Doug's to anyone who was waiting in line ~4:30pm today).  ANYWAY, enough about annoying line people...

Sweetbreads w/ celery root puree - amazing
Schnitzel sandwich - awesome
Grilled meatloaf sandwich - very good (given the right bread, this could be easily replicated at home)
Fries - very very very very delicious
Side Sauce - horseradish mayonaise - sinful
Beers - my love

I think the thing causing me to hold back that 5th star is that I felt rushed.  I probably would have stayed for another beer, but it seemed as though we were being rushed... but then when we left, there wasn't anyone in line outside as there had been earlier.  I dunno.  Guess I'll have to go back and re-review... twist my arm...

A day of trekking around a corn maze and apple pickin' made us work up a thirst, one that we determined could only be quenched by a quick stop at Three Floyd's Brewery.  So we stopped here for our post Fall Fun day meal.

After a little bit of confusion (thinking we were going to have to wait outside), we were warmly greeted and seated on a couch to wait for a table.  Gave us a chance to warm up and to enjoy our first brew.  Broo Doo?  Who do?  I do!  Yum.  Hoppy and delicious.  Pride and Joy also went down very smoothly.  A brief wait led us to our table near the bar and menu with the perfect amount of choices.

Mussels steamed in Gumbalhead with bacon?  Holy shellfish, this had my name all over it.  I almost got a side of the frites too, but a few picked from my man's plate alongside his marvelous cheeseburger did the trick.  An Alpha Kong sent me into beer bliss, alongside stolen sips of the Drunk Monk.

Beer heaven on this side of state lines, kids.  Fo' sho'.

Service was excellent, the company was good, and they were playing Edward Scissorhands.  Had we not had to drive home that night, we might've stayed to sample more beers.

Hmmm, makes me rethink my opinion on the state of Indiana...

Ok, first of all, let me start off by saying, they played the whole CD of Smoking Popes "Destination Failure!" Right there it's 5 stars.

So I told my friends that on Saturday I was going to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard, and my friends thought I was "pretty pathetic." But then I told them that after, we're stopping that the Three Floyd's Brewery. Now "Paul" and "Megan" were interested.

First of all, I kept saying, I "can't find it." It's tucked away in an industrial park, and I missed Superior street the first time we passed. Turns out all we had to do was "follow the sound" of drunken good times.

The door guy walked out as we approached. "You spoke to me" and told me you were at capacity, and would have to wait for a table. There was some confusion if we had to wait outside. After a minute or so, he came back out to grab us and told us to get a beer at the bar, have a seat on the couch, and wait for a table.

There was only one bartender, and he was really busy. I was getting hungry, tired and cranky waiting to order a round of beers, "no more smiles" from this one I tell ya. But he finally made it over, and first up, a Pride & Joy, and a Broo Doo. Both were very good.

Before we could even finish half of the first round of beers, we were seated at a table. I was debating what to order, when I saw a burger go by, on a pretzel roll. That was it, that's what I would order. It looked so good, and "I was right." The burger was very good, the pretzel roll was up to the task of holding back all of that burger. "Let's hear it for love" of burgers on pretzel rolls. They have a bunch of great dipping sauces to go with the fries. On the waitress' recommendation, I ordered the Chipolte Mayo, and it was excellent. "Capital Cristine" (not her real name, but this is difficult. I'm doing the best I can.) ordered the Mussels steamed in Gumball head and bacon. They said they were good, "they lied" they were great!

The second round of beers were Drunk Monk, and ?? (shoot, can't remember). The Drunk Monk invoked my "Pure imagination" of being in a Munich bier hall during October fest.

The food was amazing, the beer was great. The one thing I felt, was the to go beer was not cheap. I could probably find a 6 pack at Jewel for cheaper than the $10/6 pack they were selling. But I did ask, "before I'm gone," to buy a couple of 22 oz. beers that are not available in stores.

Ok, well, this is the "end of your time" reading this.

After being in the pub, I was the "star stuck one," totally in love with the place. Thank you Three Floyd's, "I know you love me" too!

Cool place to hang out and have a beer.  I like that you can sample them before you get one.  I like the framboise.   I do like their burgers.  Some of their appetizers, i can do without like the garbage fries and fried green tomatoes.

NON-SMOKING.  They get huge points just for that, as apparently, scientific research, cancer and emphysema don't seem to be huge concerns in Indiana.

The beer is really good, my favorite is the Gumball Head (a cat with a rifle?...that's a recipe for hilarity).  The menu is limited, but tasty.  Try a scotch egg, if for no other reason than to bring it up in conversation.

The music can suck and be way too loud at times depending on who is tending bar that night.  Also, if you're not into hipsters or white belts, it might not be your place.  And I still can't get over the prices after being able to pay $5 and drink all you wanted once upon a time.

Overall though, it's an enjoyable place to spend an evening

Not many things simply ROCK

This place is a tiny little treat/oasis in life for the beer lover - ok scratch that - BEER FREAKS of Nature :)

The food is eclectic and beyond the expected pub grub - this is good you see - as these beer snobs that roam this building have an appreciation for the HOP-ier things in life. I hear through the grapevine that they are going out of their way to get some serious and creative people in the kitchen - and I can tell you its working really extremely well.

Mussels - insane to even think you are getting "fresh" mussels in the Midwest - but sure enough - amazing to say the least.

Duck - wow - drive now and drive fast.

Frites - Belgium style cone and a few wonderful dipping options that are all yummy!!!!

Beer - are there yet from that drive??? Bring a friend from AA so that you can try everything on the list - and then take home with you to go only special brews - wowowow

I have to say, I was expecting more from this place. I'd heard great stuff, and maybe I just hit it on a bad week but the beer prices seemed steep for the brewery being right there. And 1 tour a week sucks. Straight up.

I rode from Chicago about 35 miles here and was hoping for like, cheap cheap prices on the to go bottles or something, but it was the same cost as buying it at a local store.

I went to the Harpoon Brewery in Boston and it was way better. But they don't make as good of beer, so ..yknow the ups and downs.

I love love Three Floyds brews so this will not affect it, but I will probably not go again for quite some time.

I have a new found love for Indiana... it may have won me over on this trip.

Went a few weekends ago for a total rock star bachelorette party complete with a brewery tour, lots of beer tasting, and some rockin' service.

Tattooed boys who will bring you beer- check!

Do I need to go any further? Really?

Gumballhead rocks my world. Alpha King is my future ex-husband. Robert the Bruce is my enemy. I'd go gay for Calumet Queen. Pride and Joy is what it claims to be. And... damn I drank a lot beer. Hmmm... I know I drank more than that but for some reason I can't remember the other names. Ahh well, I'm a better man because of FFF.

The food was phenom. I could have scarfed down the whole huge veggie pizza myself and the fry cone was the size of my head (please note that I have a giant head) and it was delicious. We got the Robert the Bruce Ketchup and it was pretty damn good but I'm on a mustard kick this month so delved into that a bit.

The desserts were FAN.Fucking.TASTIC. Smores pie- what's that? I'll take one of those. :::arrives on table, takes one bite, table is in agreeance::: we'll take 3 more of those bad boys.

I'll defo be back and bringing my 2nd stomach reserved solely for Smores pie.

Three of us decided to try out Three Floyds, having had their beer but never having eaten in the restaurant.  The place has a funky, fun vibe and a great atmosphere.

I will admit, I'm a little bit of a beer wuss.  Dark stouts, heavy hops, and adventurous names and flavors will give the beer snob something to crave, but I'm a little more plain-jane.  Even so, I found a middle-of-the-road ale that I really and truly enjoyed.  It tasted fantastic.

The experience for me was the food.  I'm a bit of a weird foodie - I love everything from ultra-greasy festival food to the most delicate and intricate of hors d'oeuvres.  I didn't expect much from Three Floyds, but I should have.  The minute we started looking at the menu, I realized that they put the same detail and thought into their burgers as they do for their beers.  We got a few different sandwiches, burgers, and a pizza, but the pizza stole the show.  Covered in full cloves of garlic, it smelled delicious and had a rich, vibrant flavor.

It's tucked away in a small back area but is most definitely worth the find.  Bring your foodie appetite and your beer snobbishness, or just your diner cravings and your lack of Bud Light.  Either way, you will absolutely fall in love and never go back.

The wife and I came to NW Indiana on a Sunday evening and took the son back out to dinner here.  When it comes to having a meal at a brewery - I think this is as good as it gets - 5 stars.  Exceptional beer and really good food that I suspect you don't find at many breweries.  I had an Alpha King (FFF's signature ale), son had a Blunder Buss (unique, smoky flavor), and the wife even had a pint of Calumet Queen, a lighter ale.

Waiter mentioned that they change the dinner menu every couple of weeks to keep things fresh.  We had two duck fritte dinners and I had lamb chops.  Also on the menu were rabbit and trout.  Appetizer and dessert were mussels and smore pie, respectively.

This was a benchmark brewery dinner.  I'll have to challenge if it can be topped, but it's going to take a really special place to do it.

After wanting to come here for years,  finally I got to indulge!

I love FFF beers and this was the place to try them out from the source, most on tap for a decent price (about $5 a glass).  But I won't go into the beer selection here, for that would be obvious.  Rather, I'll review the food at the brewpub.

The food menu is a modest size.  A few sandwiches, about 3 entrees, lots of appetizers, and a bunch of pizzas. The cheeseburger was handmade, almost 2 inches thick, and was placed on pretzel bread!  Mmmm Mmmm.  Quite delicious and was by far the best bargain on the menu for $7. My only complaint is that FFF seemed to be skimpy on the fries on everyone's plate.  Like, they're fries.... easy to cook,  pretty cheap to make, so why are they so frugal with them on everyone's plates?  That is my main concern.  A friend ordered the fish-and-chips for $12 and received barely any fries and just about six 1-inch fried fish pieces. Needless to say, they were disappointed by the small portions for that money.

But the burger was amazing and I was a happy customer.... how couldn't I be with great beer to accompany the great food, and more importantly, the great company.   Cheers!

(With just more fries on the plates and some more servers in the restaurant, I would give this place 5-stars....)

You haven't sipped a Three Floyd's draft until you've sipped it straight from the brewery.

The pub portion of the restaurant is intimate. It's you, the bartender and few other Floyd appreciators. The food is bar inspired, but it's prepared well, and with as much care as the beer creations. I believe the server told me the produce is from a garden on the grounds. As a produce junkie, I was thrilled.

The tour was pretty much awesome. I love hearing the scoop straight from the brewer versus a beer docent that doesn't get his or her hands wet in the brewing process.

Three Floyd's has soul. You should too.

after sleeping in on a beautiful Saturday morning in august, i crawled out of bed and chatted with my friend that had stayed over from a party the night before. we chatted for a bit and somehow decided to randomly head to this brewery for some beers and a bite to eat. we freshened up, got in the car around 1130, and headed out to Indiana.

after getting off of the E-way, we took it a bit slow in order to find the joint since it looked to be dipped off of a main road via my iphone. we eventually found it and headed on in. we were seated immediately and just kinda scanned the place. i guess we got our hopes up bc we were kinda let down that it looked like a regular ass restaurant to us. yeah they have a view of the brewery and all that but i guess we were under the impression that we were headed to some sort of Willy Wonka-esque type of place. oh well. we had 2 beers each. i think i had the Behemoth which punched me in the face with flavor as soon as i sipped it. D-d-d-damn thats wild!
i ordered fish and chips and my buddy had some mac and cheese. the food was nothing to write home about but it was decent for the time being. we drank our brews, ate our food, paid the bill and rolled out kinda questioning the trip we had just made to Munster, IN. After finding our way back to the main road deal, we headed to a spot called johnny's tap to have some brews and scope the local flavor as we were a bit let down. eh. nothing a few beers and weird conversation at Johnnys didnt fix. to continue reading, please see review for Johnnys tap.

Went on a Saturday more for the beer and brewery tour.  I had the Amish chicken which was very succulent  and I had to fight off my friends from eating it.  We started with Scotch eggs, which were so tasty with a crunchy/fried wasabi taste, what a great mix of flavors.  I sampled my friends Reuben which was awesome, one of the best I've tasted, and my other friends schnitzel, which was ok.  You can't beat fresh brewed beer with great flavor, the polar opposite of the piss-brews Bud and Miller.  An out-of-the-way place worth going to, if I lived closer it would definitely be a more frequent visit for me.  Staff were pleasant, seemed a bit inexperienced though.  I will go back.

Figured this was the perfect review for my 500th yelp.

Three Floyds is a beer drinkers wet dream. I was able to make it here for Dark Lord Day 2009. During what was an outstanding day of drinking and music, I was also able to get into the brew pub for some great drinks and amazing service. The Banana Split was great to try along with the 2008 Dark Lord. I'm looking forward to making it here again soon, and for the 2010 Dark Lord Day.

need a reason to go to northwest indiana aside from casinos, outlet malls, industrial steel production and the tantalizing aroma of sulfur? look no further than munster, home to three floyds!

in all seriousness, if you didn't know better, you would probably think you were headed toward some kind of medical supply distributor or massive mail house when trying to find this place. nothing in the surrounding area indicates that there is awesomeness approaching just around the corner.

the interior is cute; brightly colored walls and beer related bric-a-brac. i love all the different draft pulls that encircle the ceiling. in terms of seating, there's a small bar, a buncha tables and a few crappo ikea couches. they usually have a movie being projected onto the wall, often kung fu.

the only thing that needs to be said about the beer: awesome. everything three floyds makes is, imho, kick ass (special props goin' out to gumball head). they also have a great selection of "guest beers" from other independent/micro brew places all over the country. the selection of food is limited, but what they've got is pretty darn good. they have a huge garden around the side of the building that provides the kitchen with a lot of seasonal ingredients. on our last visit we had the veggie pizza and the fry cone; healthy, i know. the fry cone came with your choice of specialty sauce. we went for two, the robert the bruce ketchup (slightly closer to marinara) and the horseradish mayo (little light on the spice). i think i remember the sauces being a little more impressive last time. all in all, a great stop for food and drinks especially if you're in the area.

i can split 3-F into 2 categories: beer and food.

As a beer destination this is a very good place.  Between the very good 3-F beers they also offer some very good guest taps, so the overall selection can range between 5-15 selections.

As a food destination I have severe doubts.  I have been to this place 3 times and all 3 times the food has been below fast-food quality. Once the burgers had a quality issue (gristle in burger) and once a cooking issue.  The third time had to do with a appetizer portion size ( uh, doughnut hole sizes do not count especially for one app. at $5 per portion).
I have also had issues with the servers and their persistence in spending more time out back, in shall we say more recreational activities than customer service.  Pizza prices are vastly over-priced.

Overall, they do have good beer but that is all I would go for.

We finally made it in here. You just have to come late or real early
I guess( it was a Friday night).
Since we already ate dinner we just tried some of their beer. I'm
not really a beer drinker but I had the Banana Split which was pretty
good, different, but good. My hubby really liked Robert the Bruce but
not the Alpha King.
Next time we'll try some dinner. I like the cozy atmosphere but I
really wanted a smoke but you can't smoke there, whatever!!
I'm sure we'll be back.

There's a new chef here now, so if you haven't been to the brewpub in a while you should come back and check out the new menu. And of course try a beer or two that you can't get anywhere else (currently a creation called Banana Split). The staff is friendly, the food is great, and the beer is the best in the region. How could it not be worth the drive? (and really, it only takes about 35 minutes)

Disclosure: I work in the brewery now, but not the pub.

This is the source of all that is good in the universe.

Well, maybe not. But it is the source of just about all my favorite beers in the universe. I crave Alpha King constantly and I could drink their specialty stout, Dark Lord by the pint on a daily basis if I could get my hands on it.

The brewpub has come a long way, and I've been going there since the first week it opened. I kinda miss the original bartenders but most of the staff here is still really friendly and it's always nice to see Barnaby and Nick in the house.

The pizzas are good, the burgers are good, but the best food to me is during the festival/parties when they do barbecue, pulled pork, etc. I heard they recently hired a new head chef so i am determined to go check out the new menu as soon as it goes into effect.

They grow a lot of their own herbs and veggies in the garden in the back of the place, so be sure to order something that takes advantage of the freshness!

My favorite bar in NW Indiana BY FAR!

I'm proud of you Munster, for opening such a unique brewery with AMAZING food.  Not sure which I enjoyed more, the delicious and extensive selection of beer on tap, or the very high quality and tasty food that blow every other restaurants in the area out of the water.

Three Floyds get extra stars for purchasing some of their meat, vegetables and other ingredients from local farmers in the area!

I loved the ambiance of this place too.  It's cool and colorful, like their beer:)

You just know how to do it right.  Plus, they don't allow smoking inside, a rarity for NW Indiana bars.  I went on a Sunday afternoon right when they opened so it wasn't crowded, but I hear this place gets packed.

Because there is no one whose opinion I trust as much as  I do Hollie S.'s  I went to Indiana.   Three Floyds Brewery should be here, making Chicago cool, but it's in Munster, making Munster  cool.
The food is  very good.  The Tuesday night bartender, Jason,  is very good.  I liked the beer and the way everybody in there worships beer.
Also, the customers were cool.  And all the labels were on the bottles really straight, and the bottles were filled uniformly.

I am not a beer geek, but I adore 3 Floyds. My beer palate is expanding, and every time I go there I find something else I like...beer and food.

I like sitting at the bar. I feel that's it's instant gratification; once you're empty, there's someone there asking what else you'd like. Plus, it allows me to interact with the locals/regulars. Beer people (and bartenders) are pretty good conversationalists.

For beer I'd recommend Robert the Bruce and Gumballhead for beers that are always on tap and Calumet Queen, Dwarven Hammer, Banana Split 7", Ham on Rye (tastes like it sounds!), Munsterfest and Brian Boru for the seasonals...Again, these are just my tastes. I tend to stray away from bitter/hoppy, so you won't see me sipping a Dreadnaught. My fiancee thinks it's great, though. They also have several guest brews on tap and in bottle form. And, for someone who wants to keep it simple and old school, they have $2 PBR cans. Alcohol not for you? Get some Sprechter soda (cream, root beer, ginger ale, orange) from Wisconsin. Smooth and creamy!

For food, more possibilities! Sandwiches and pizzas, and rotating specials. I adore the Muffaletta sandwich--with real olive spread! Mmm...They have burgers on pretzel rolls with I believe 4 or 5 different cheese choices (including Muenster, of course). My sis says their mac and cheese appetizer is to die for...Pizzas are thin-crust, lots of toppings choices, kinda fancy-pants but tasty! There's a trout sandwich, pulled pork, meatloaf sandwich (nice texture, flavor on this one) and a bunch more. I'd call it upscale bar food. There's always 1 or 2 desserts too, many of wich include their beers as an ingredient. Had a cheesecake made with Banana Split 7" about a month ago that was wonderful, melt-in-your-mouth fantastic! They've had a flourless chocolate cake with Dark Lord before too. So decadent, so delicious...

All in all, 3 Floyds is an enjoyable place to have a meal and a few beers. Staff is friendly and attentive, knowledgable about their product. Word to the wise, the place isn't very big and it's seat-yourself. I can get packed on certain nights...Get there early on Friday nights or you might be waiting outside for awhile!

Munster, IN just doesn't know what it has tucked away in that big industrial park across the street from the dump.  In a land of strip malls and chain restaurants, where car dealerships are more plentiful than bars and Target is the fashion mecca, sits Three Floyds, a cultural powerhouse.

Many beer rating websites and magazines have a couple or three Three Floyds brews sitting in the top 10...in the world.  Dark Lord is recognized the world over as a masterpiece of an Imperial Stout.  Their Imperial IPA is second to very, very few.  Alpha King is one of the best flagship beers I've ever happened upon.  And by God, if I can ever find a better summer brew than Gumballhead, I'll be truly surprised.

If beer can be art, Three Floyds is at the forefront of the complex, west coast IPA movement.  But unlike most brewpubs that pride themselves in hoppy beers, Three Floyds ventures out of that realm frequently.  Stouts, lagers, cream ales, etc.  They produce one of the only Saisons in America that I've found (very) drinkable.
But what Three Floyds does best, in my humble opinion, is applying the trendy hop flavor in unique ways.  Gumballhead, for example, is a summer wheat in some aspects.  It's light in color and mood.  It's smooth and easy to drink.  Yet it's complex.  Amarillo hops give it a strong lemon flavor, and red wheat serves to balance the acid.

Add to all this that their food is fantastic.  Not just because much of their veggies are grown out back, but because their chef does an impeccable job of keeping with the theme of this brewery: taking beer and beer food seriously without being snooty.  Fried deliciousness in garlic aioli.  Fried green tomatoes.  Fish and chips.  Rings.  Pizza.  All well crafted, fresh, and affordable.

This place is quite possibly my favorite place in the world to do anything having to do with consumption of beer or food.

If I had a French, German, or misc. European buddy visiting me, who asked me to show him 5 places where he could find what American beer was about, I'd take him to Three Floyds five times.

Went here for Dark Lord Day 2007.  An incredible experience of any lover of beer - get there early (I arrived at 10 AM and the parking lot was already packed with people). Bring a couple growlers of your fav local brews.  Tastings were happening all day and if you bring a growler, you make friends immediately.

3 Floyds beer is top notch as well.  Gumballhead, Alpha King, and the Barrel Aged Dark Lord were all tremendous.  The only disappointment was the food.  The only option that day was a BBQ plate that wasn't very appetizing at all.  However, Hollie's review says they have a new chef, so maybe the food is better now.  I think another road trip may be in order.

There are so many tasks involved in planning a surprise party that is also a brew pub tour.  One of the tasks is making reservations at brew pubs.    Since Three Floyd's is my husband's favorite brew pub, I called them to find out about making a reservation.

10 days goes by, and nothing.  I call back again.  No reply.  I call a third time and opt to actually speak to someone.  I explain the problem-- I need a reservation for my group.  The woman assures me that someone from the brew pub will call me back.

The manager calls and says that they are unable to help me as they don't take reservations.  She also tells me that they are often at capacity on Saturday afternoons.  I understand that she was trying to set expectations.  On the other hand, I felt like she wasn't very helpful.  Why not suggest the brewery tour that is every Saturday at 3PM instead?

Anyway, I took the group to the pub.  They were able to let the entire group in without incident.  After 20 minutes, we were all able to camp out together on these black sofas that reminded me of past college apartments.

I wouldn't recommend for groups unless you are willing to deal with a bit of a headache.  Since it all worked out and my husband was really thrilled, I will give them 4 stars.

My husband and I went on the tour which was fun. The food was yummy too, particularly the burger. Fish and chips were decent too. This place *REALLY* reminded me of Kuma's Corner in Chicago. Great burger, indie type feel, fun wall decorations, loud music. Call me an old fogie but the music was a lil too loud. There's a really nice pond right next door where one can sit and sober up before the trip back to Chicago. :) I think we'll be back.

Ever been to Warren Dunes? Up the hill, down the hill, through the forest, into the clay, then the water, and repeat. Fun huh? I knew it would be, but had to entice my boyfriend (here's where you're hoping the story turns dirty) with a trip to Three Floyds on the way home. (not dirty! Well I did swim in my clothes and they did get a little clingy and I think some women were covering their children's' eyes..wanna hear about the pub now?) Excellent beer, and not just the Three Floyds varieties - they've got a really interesting beer list. Ommegang? Yes please! Dogfish Head? Awright! PBR? Go crazy, but leave me outta that.
I started with a salad with a goat cheese stuffed squash blossom and a chive vinaigrette that was really heavy on the vinegar, I think possibly because it also had pickled onions and that just put the PH over the top. The enticee had the deep fried hardboiled egg stuffed sausage. I know, gross, but he's a weird dude. For entrees I had a smoked vegetable sandwich that was oddly oily but good, and the fella had a steak sandwich. While the sandwiches were good, the fries are the kicker because of the sauces you can choose from - robert the bruce ketchup, alpha king mustard, as well as horseradish mayo and chipotle mayo and some other stuff that I'm sure was great because you dip fries into them, so yeah, good.
Okay, so far pretty good, right? Well, except that the service was awwwwful. I think this guy had an eight table section during dinner on a Saturday. So poor guy, right? But then we asked for water three times. And got it a couple minutes before we got the check. So now I don't care so much about the poor guy. I'm mean like that.
Redemption: $53 bill. Two appetizers, two entrees, six beers.

Stopped in because I was in the area, been wanting to come here since they opened the brewpub.  Place is small but nice, friendly folks inside, even those at the bar were willing to have a conversation with strangers.

I ordered a Brian Boru Red Ale because I'd have had theirs.  It was very good and one of the better red ale's I've had.

Ordered a cheesesteak and boy was it a disappointment.  They put a cheese sauce on it that wasn't very tasty and the fact that it was a sauce made the bun disintigrate in your hand and soon you were eating a complete mess.  Fries weren't very good, you could tell the grease hadn't been changed in far too long by the flavor  and color of the fries.

I want to give this place more stars but the food experience was a put off.  I'll come back again because the make some good beers and we'll see if they can redeem themselves so I can up the rating.

Three Floyds is the Holy Grail of beer.  Their Gumball Head is divine.  The only thing bad about this place, is their latest out put of beer.  Though, that's probably more to do with the the economic times... but none the less, this brewery is above par.

I'll start off by saying that I'm not a big fan of malty beer; I'm more of a sweet wheaty Hefeweizen guy. But wouldn't you know it I walked out of Three Floyds with a six-pack of Robert the Bruce. I think what got me was the chocolatey, coffee-esque taste of the brew, which was a surprise considering I was getting these flavors from beer.

Try the sampler if you're still dubious. Their stock stuff is definitely more of the robust sort but I found something to like.

As a fan of Brew Pubs and micro brews every opportunity I get I hit anything I can find, this place def tops the list. For beers and grub you cannot go wrong, the chef incorporates the delicious brews with the top rate but still affordable dishes and does it wonderfully. I've been here twice and both times have left feeling somewhat touched by divinity. If you get a chance hit up their tour of the Brewery as it is fun and informative and their ideals really shine through and make you appreciate the drinks even more. My favorite beers were the Moloko Barrel Aged, and Gumballhead.

Nothing like I expected but SO MUCH BETTER.  Literally, the Three Floyd's Pub is a no frills pub stuck in the middle of the brewing plant.  I had no problem finding it (after I text-Googled it on my trusty phone and called the bartender for directions of course).

The service was fantastic and the vibe, very relaxed.  They have lots-o-Three Floyd's Beer on tap but also have other beer options too.   I had the Gumballhead to start (my fave even though you can buy this in Chicago) and then went on to the Dreadnaught IPA (higher alcohol content - woo-hoo).  I may have a new favorite!  I just wish a) we didn't;t have to drive home and b) it wasn't Sunday so we could take some "to-go" cases with us (no beer sales on Sunday in Indiana, kids!).

I will hopefully be back to Three Floyd's soon.  I am not a wicked heavy beah-drinkah but Three Floyd's make me crave the stuff!   I didn't really try much food (I did sample the beer cheese and it was dang tasty) but everything that surfaced around me looked quality.  Not convinced?  Shhhhh. . I saw a celebrity there -  - Ben from the first season of Bravo's Shear Genius.  How's that for an endorsement?

Support local business, and have a beer while you're at it.  The lighting is subdued and the service has always been friendly.  There is also a nice (rotating) belgian ale selection on tap.  Set aside an afternoon, or an evening, for good drinking.

(Psst...Chicago-cats, get out there.  'Aint nothing quite like Three Floyds back home.)

Tour costs $1 and a beer is included!

Afterwards, had a scotch egg appetizer and the schnitzel sandwich washed down by some great 3 Floyds beer.  Awesome!

what an odd little place for such a fun bar! i was impressed by the variety of patrons, and with the decor of the bar, but the food and service were what makes me think i'll definitely come back next time i'm in the area. the gumballhead draft was a huge hit with everyone, and i'm almost positive those were the best fries i've ever had! crisped to perfection with some great "dipping sauces". and as a piece de resistance, the smores tart was AMAZING. the only thing is that this place gets crowded very quickly and will turn away guests, so get there early so you can get a table!

I got my dark lord....yay me! ;-)

Three floyds is my newest bestest favorite non-sexual friend and I will allow them to continually pour their foamy fluids down my throat until it flows out of every other orifice in my body. ;p

5 hours in line surrounded with all sorts of people lacking in pigmentation, but with the biggest hearts and most entertaining stories, Dark Lord Day turned into an event worth noting and remembering in future battle story moments.(yes only one in every 364 days they choose  to sell their tasty creation called dark Lord beer, a Russian Imperial Stout made with Intelligentsia Beans and with flavor and character to be envied by most beer gods)

I tasted wet fluids that left me with tingly toes and weak knees and now have dreams that leave me even wetter when I awake.

yay me...I got my Dark Lord beer! wooohoo! ;-)

The new chef has improved the menu.  At least half a dozen appitizers now grace the menu.  The daily specials are interesting and many of the menu choices have beer suggestions listed.
