Awesome store and location. Came here today for my pups 2nd birthday. My girlfriend and I bought him a giant bone cookie and a few other items. We saw a few cool dog halloween costumes here too. I really wanted him to be a great white shark but it was one size too small for him. It's kinda how it is for me some times. But anyways the girl that worked there was very helpful and she was trying to find something that fit but to no avail. So we just ended up buying him a glow-in-the-dark pirate skull and crossbones t-shirt.
It's the closest Three Dog Bakery to us so we will definitely come back here when in the area.
An excerpt from my dog's diary:
Three Dog you make me salivate,
Pupcakes good enough to masticate!
Fresh biscuits, chewies, and cookies, too cool!
Wholesome ingredients that make me drool!
What? A birthday cake for me!
No, master's too cheap, I see.
Three Dog Bakery is a great place to come spoil your pooch. Great selection of store-made biscuits and cookies! There is also a vast array of apparel and other dog essentials like the patch of fake grass. Great staff that is helpful, even for lost tourists!
This is a very interesting store located near 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Attractive looking baked goods are available behind a glass counter. They look like desserts, and they are, but just for dogs (though the cashier said that they are safe for human consumption). The prices are a little high, but the presentation is wonderful (though I am not sure if dogs would appreciate it).
The staff was very friendly. And last Christmas, they gave out complimentary stocking stuffers (for dogs, of course) with purchase.
I was completely excited about checking this place out after passing here a few times. Finally a couple of days ago, I was not on the usual search-and-destroy mission and had the time to stop. Hmmm...it was a big let down.
The premise is good, branding excellent, location good...but this is where the greatness stops. There is such a small selection of all doggy accessories compared to HealthySpot, Venice Pets and the other local hot spots while still being more expensive. The bakery items were adorable but decently pricey, and my Pom wholeheartedly refused them. Like she wouldn't even sniff them. Upon investigating further there were items in the ingredients, my vet has asked me in the past to keep out of Pom's diet.
The service was almost nonexistent. Even with only two other people in the store, I had to ask for help twice to get someone at the bakery counter. Should've taken it as a sign, yeah?
Generally, I must say, yes I am a picky about what my pet eats and her products, but its important, right. And bottomline...there are better places to pamper your pet!
Does anyone read the ingredients in these things? Yea, they're cute, but they're also full of partially hydrogenated oil, which is a trans fat and should not be consumed by dogs. They don't boast about that on their website, only about the wholesome ingredients.
On to the we pity the kitties treats. Nowhere on the box does it say that they are made in China. The box I bought says that the only ingredient is Alaskan salmon, that is freeze dried. When you open the box, on the packaging inside is a sticker that says, "Shipped and freeze dried in China." That is false advertising and I am sure more people would not buy these products if they knew they were the same crappy quality as the major pet stores. Stop being deceptive!
They make it seem like everything is made on site, and most of this stuff is imported from questionable places. I will never return to this place and will boycott the ones they are opening up in San Diego. China tried to poison our pets once. Why are we giving them the opportunity again?
I decided to go back because the owner sent me a message and told me about some other num num options.
I ended up getting 2 bbq bones and 2 small wheat free cupcake lookin things. I also bought a toy that looked like a doughnut, which my lil boys love. Oddly enough, they both preferred the cupcake thing to the bbq bone, even though they usually like savory treats better. It was so funny seeing Teddy trying to stuff that entire cupcake in his mouth.
I think I'll stick to the fresh baked treats, they seemed to like them more anyways and I don't like buying pre-packaged treats if I don't know FOR SURE that they're made in the US. I also liked the clothes, but they didn't have the right sizes in the ones I liked. They also have cute beds, but they're out of my price range for what they are.

It's a cute little shop! Cutest little confections ever, but it sorta sucks because my dogs aren't… Read more »
Super cute bakery. There was a cute, yet creepy, dog sitting on the display case.
I purchased two carrot cakes, one for Amber, one for Dexter. They were pretty generous portions, so I broke them up over two days. They thoroughly enjoyed them.
I also bought some We Pity the Kitties dried chicken treats, but the cats weren't havin' it.
Added one more star since one of the owners of 3 dog contacted me through yelp and offered a solution to the problem. I am pleasantly surprised that the owner actually took the time out to read what customers are saying. it just shows that they try to make dogs happy - even ppl. =)
Just for that, I will definitely give 3 dog one more try.

Sandee and I came here last evening for the doggy massage special . . . ohboy did we have fun! Sandee and I both loved this place. I even met my 1st yelper, Alex C. (who was very nice and had a hot wife, btw).
Rocky the owner (another Yelper) also recognized us and introduced himself.
They have everything you could possibly need to trick out your pooch.
I looked through all the outfits (which i don't buy, but they were funny).
Great store, great bakery, great stuff.
you can never have too much good stuff for your pooch :)
The concept is certainly not new. It's like an Italian Restaurant, there are a so many of them that it requires a certain something to set it apart. That certain something is everywhere at Three Dog Bakery.
The ownership is present and friendly. The products are varied and diverse. The baked goods are healthy, wholesome and flavorful (I know - I've popped a few.) The prices are comparable to any other pet boutique. But the piece de resistance...Pet-A-Potty. The greatest invention for small dog owners since the Rhinestone Muscle Tanks for Chihuahua's. And then there is the holiday/weekend Bunny. Classic!!
I think what I love most is that the owners, Rocky and Hannah, extend themselves to their community. We are not only patrons, we are friends and look forward to seeing what they do next.
I finally got a chance to check out Rocky's establishment. I have to say I was impressed. Yes there is a ton of crap to spoil your little pouch with here and if you can get over going to a bakery for your dog you will love this place.
They have a good selection of collars, leashes, harnasses, etc. Lots of little jerseys for your pooch if you're into that. I think the only time i might do that is if the Lakers are in the Playoffs. Also I might get her a hat for halloween so we can be in a halloween dog parade.
Now the best parts. They have a great selection of freshly baked treats. They make doggie cakes for their birthdays. They also sell healthy dog food which I just discovered is actually cheaper than the Castor and Pollucks I have been feeding Roxanne since I first got her.
But the best part is the staff where super friendly. The young woman at the counter had her tiny french Bulldog. I like that the people who work here really love their dogs and understand what dog owners want for their special friends.
This place is really first Rate.
Though my lab-mix mutt can't fit into half of the (tiny) doggy clothes there, he sure did appreciate the goodies! Everything looked good enough for human consumption (which CAN be done, i was informed, it just wouldn't taste right w/o the sugar/chocolate/etc). I didn't know I had to make an advance request for a bday cake for my pooch, but the guys at the counter were more than happy to customize a doggy bone cake for me on the fly.
Quality treats, excellent customer service and all sorts of neat toys and accessories for your pooch make this a small-town gem in the not-so-suburban hustle and bustle of SM.
So, I have been super excited to come here since I love the concept of healthly homemade dog food, for our beloved babies. Pretty small store to begin with and although there was no customers, the staff was not helpful, didn't greet us and the service altogether sucked. It's funny that they would seem so snooty working at a dogs bakery, when its suppose to be a fun and happy experience. My dogs liked the treats, but I won't be coming to this one again, due to the staff. I would rather drive an extra ten miles or so.
I absolutely LOVE Three Dog Bakery. They bake yummy all-natural human-quality dog treats right in the store. Definitely a one stop shop for people who like to spoil their pooch. Their birthday cakes are especially popular - they can be custom ordered and personalized. Plus, they have the best selection of adorable leashes and collars, toys, and clothes (think jerseys, sweatshirts, costumes and dresses!).
Aside from their fantastic merchandise, what sets Three Dog Bakery Santa Monica apart is their attention to customer service. Hannah and Rocky, the owners, make sure that all their employees are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. If you bring your dog in, s/he will be smothered with attention and sample treats.
We came back this evening for dog spa night. We weren't going to at first, but at the last minute we had some extra time and my yelp friend sherri b. egged us on. So to 3 dog we went and I'm glad we did. Got to meet Rocky K. this time in person! He's a really nice guy and was really excited to see me and Angus there. I was immediately drawn to his enthusiastic personality especially since he had just gotten off from his day job in downtown LA, made the trek all the way to Santa Monica, and bumped into us before he even had a chance to put his bag down! What a guy! They just launched their new 3 dog proprietary pet spa product line. I guess the 3 dog empire is really moving forward. Store wasn't too crowded so we really got to enjoy talking to Rocky, Hannah, Beth, and met their other employee Vincent. Everyone again was really nice and friendly and remembered Angus. Even George the resident dog seemed to remember him and they picked right up where they left off, chasing each other around the store. = ) As a bonus, 3 dog gave us a huge sample (seriously it's like a pound) of their proprietary dog food and a nice salsa container sized sample of their entree food which is like a semi-wet version of their food. I just pulled it out of the bag and really, that sample of their dog food is huge!
The 15 minute massage went well. Angus was lucky to get his massage from Leslie from Two Hands Four Paws. She was nice and looked like she was paying attention to Angus' body language and spending more time on places he liked more. Of course I really don't know, I was just watching. We donated the suggested $10 with a $5 tip since I was enjoying myself and Angus looked happy. Again I'm super impressed with Rocky, Hannah, and the rest of the 3 dog team here. I know it's a lot of work to put on events like this with all the organization and planning, but they do a good job and approach the task with much enthusiasm and make it a good time for all.

I don't have a dog, but if I did I would probably go to Three Dog Bakery to get him or her treats and toys. My friend, who has a little dog, said that she didn't see much in the store for big dogs, but that "they had some good stuff for people like me who like to put shit on their dogs." I especially liked the UCLA jerseys (they had other schools as well).

Take basically any Big Blue Bus to downtown Santa Monica or Metro #720, 20, 534.
This place is tops. My dog knows how to get here from Wilshire. He rounds the corner, pulling me down 4th St. He pulls progressively harder the closer we get to Santa Monica Blvd. It's like having a fish caught on fishing line.
We always get him a six-pack of baked goods. Don't forget to get your frequent-customer card stamped.
He loves the dog food, too. I think Dick Van Patten organic is healthier, though; so he only gets the tasty stuff once in a while. (Yes, I know with some dogs switching foods back-and-forth hurts their stomach. My guy does't have that problem.)
Customer service is great. When I'm there, it's usually a younger, tall white guy and two girls working. They're always friendly and helpful. We come here every 10 days or so, and will continue doing so.
three dog bakery is our fav doggy store. the staff is SUPER friendly and the owner is always very helpful (and he has a CUTE dog!) they always give my dog treats and they are super knowledgeable about their products. i think the girl who bakes the treats is named hannah - she is sweet and totally adorable (and a good doggy baker!)
i brought omelette during easter and they had a staff member dressed up as a bunny. they had a photo shoot area set up - you paid $15 (which went to charity) and got photos of your dog with the easter bunny - totally classic! we bought her some bunny cookies that day and they smelled like human cookies! i kind of wanted to eat one. i know that's gross, but it's true ;)
it's nice to have a dog store in the area where the staff isn't totally stuck up!
yay for three dog!
This is a super cute "spoil your puppy" store. They have a great selection of dog products, from leashes & harnesses, to clothes & beds, and tons of treats. I have to be honest and say that although I enjoy coming into the store and buying my puppies stuff from this establishment, my pups are not fans of the organic home made treats. I've tried the Oreo cookie treat, the carrot cake treat, and a peanut butter concoction, but my pups didn't like any of the treats. Interestingly enough, my neighbors said the same thing about their Pug not liking the treats. My advice: definitely go to this store and check out all the great pet stuff!
Super cute dog boutique that is really a bakery! Cool professional kitchen with a pot rack hanging above with all of the doggy biscuit cutters. The on-premise baked treats are super fresh and they've got quite a few gluten-free options too. The pupcakes are so cute and were devoured quickly by our dog.
The people who work in this store are so friendly and helpful, and clearly love dogs. The owner recommended a sampler pack of treats for my dog, and she was pretty darn happy with it. It's a cute store, run by genuinely friendly people -- if I lived in L.A., I would take my dog there often. I don't know how often this happens, but there was a guy on the Third Street Promenade handing out 10% off coupons, so we took one and got 10% off at the bakery.
Three Dog Bakery is so cute! The people who own the place are sweet and even though they never remember me they always remember my dog. (which is way more important for a dog bakery : ) The dog treats are so cute and the little dog accessories are adorable. You can feel that the owners seem to really love and care about their shop.
Three Dog Bakery is a very cool store. There are many cute cookies and other unique merchandises for dogs. The staff there are super friendly. I like to buy stuff for my Maltese in this store!
