10 reviews for Three-13 Salon Spa & Boutique
this place gets four stars because it's one of the better salons for cool haircuts in the 'burbs.
I went to this salon so much when I was a kid to watch my mom get her hair done it's ridiculous. Then, when I got older and hadn't moved into the city this was the place I got my hair cut and dyed.
I will say that I have never been to a salon that gives everyone a hot paraffin hand treatment. They also massage your scalp after gently washing your hair. Between the warm gloves on and the person rubbing my head I almost fell asleep every time I went in there!
Your haircut rides on how much money you are willing to spend. The best haircuts can be pricey because the best in the salon give them to you. If you just want a standard, easy cut get someone cheaper. I got some crazy haircuts here back in the day, and I paid out the nose, but I was always pleased with my results.
They also have a spa, nail salon, and makeup stand where you can get your face done professionally. Check out the website for a full list of offerings!
Oh, and P.S.- A little bit of history... in the 80's I saw Cher there getting hair extensions!
I went to Three 13 for years and saw Stephanie for color and Arnie for cut and loved it but after a while it got hard to swallow the large car payment I would drop every time I was in there. After product and cut style and color and tip it was easily 300 dollars every 4 weeks is rough!
Three-13's hook is that is a nice salon with a funky atmosphere. It's a hip place to get your hair cut, & colored, get a manicure or pedicure, have your makeupdone...kind of an all-in-one place.
Personally, I've only ever been there to have my hair cut. Prices for a basic wash & cut range from $40 to $75, depending on the experience of the hairdresser. If you only have your hair cut, and not dried or styled, the price drops slightly. A paraffin wax treatment for your hands, the shampoo/conditioner, and a neck & scalp massage are part of the package.
The salon encourages the hairdressers, colorists, and other employees to wear a) hip, punky all-black clothing and b) crazy unique hair. There's nothing quite like getting your hair trimmed by a gal with bright green dreadlocks!
As with any salon, not all the hairdressers are created equal. I used one there who positively killed my ears, she brushed my long thick hair so roughly. The gal I see now, Jem, rocks. If she moves up outside of my price range or jumps ship, I'll cry--she's one of the few hair stylists I'ev found who listens to me about how I want my hair cut.
It's a nifty place to go and for me with my twice-a-year haircuts, the prices aren't unreasonable, especially for a hairdresser who rocks as much as Jem does!
I went to this salon not for a hair cut but for nail care. I was driving from Tech to the salon which is a long ways. The reviews all raved about this place so I thought I would give it a try. Yes, it is huge and factory like. Yes, it is very expensive, upwards of $75 for a full set of nail extensions. The nail salon is rather large which is odd because whenever I went I was usually the only customer there. What is nice is that the technicians are young and all English speaking. My technician was still in school and had been with the Salon for 2+ years. I thought she was well trained and performed the nail care well. The only reason I am not still an active customer is because of its location and price.
Alright, so I went back to Three-13 over the weekend. They lured me in with 50% off specials on my hair color & cut. I just had to give them a chance again with a deal like that. I went and saw Shannon for my hair color and Charlotte for my hair cut. Shannon is wonderful - she was very thorough in discussing my hair color options and made great suggestions for what she thought would look good on me - she even suggested a hair style she thought would look cute with my new hair color. She really took her time to make sure that I got the right color. Charlotte cut my hair and I love it. I used to see Charlotte a long time ago (prior to the incident with Jem - see my previous review) and I'm glad that I went back to her. She gave me a great hair cut and she was just as fun as I remembered her being. My cut is super cute and my color is great for summer. Once I was done with all my services it was still a little spendy even with the discounts but my hair looked great. I'm glad I gave Three 13 another shot. I hope they continue to offer great specials.

I used to go here religiously. This place is always busy and they try to get you in and out as fast… Read more »
Nice staff, large place
I don't think I have seen a salon this big - EVER. They have anything and everything you could want from a salon. It is truly unique. Their service prices are based on the employees "level" of service. Thi relates to how long the y have been employed with Three-13 (most of them 10+ YEARS) and their overall experience, and amount of clients. It is very "departmentalized" also. Or, maybe I should say "specialized". The one that cuts your hair - does not color your hair. And vice versa. Kinda cool because each is an "expert". The only negative is that it seems if you try to schedule multiple services in one day, it turns into a bit of a debacle - again, because you are being handed from one person to another. Services just can't be beat though! Hair color - ASK FOR GEORGIA!
Three-13 is this obnoxious pink building in the 'burbs. The salon itself is a pretty annoying place to visit - overly fake staff (even moreso than most salons) and just a kind of "trying too hard" kind of vibe to it overall. However, even though fake people are among my top 5 pet peeves, I will always get my hair cut here as long as I am in Atlanta. I have been to several stylists at different levels and have loved every haircut. Plus, it takes a few visits, but you can definitely find a stylist that is not over-the-top fake. Anyway, I would highly recommend Three - 13 to anyone who wants a great haircut.
I have mixed feelings about this salon. I totally agree with Jessica that it has the "trying too hard" vibe. It's trying to be a hip, trendy salon... but really, we're in Marietta folks. The dance music, the dress code (which seems to be anything black purchased at Rave or Forever 21), and the ambience leave something to be desired. However, the stylists that I have had cut my hair there are fantastic. I love the haircuts that I have recieved. I think it's a bit too chaotic to recieve their other spa services, but the haircuts and coloring are great!
Ive gone here on a few occassions....and unfortunately....eh...I just dont like it. I always feel like the stylists are distracted/in a hurry. A few times I have even had to deal with their next client waiting impatiently within five feet of me to have their hair done before mine is even halfway finished. Very aggravating, I dont like feeling rushed especially when I pay that much for a haircut. Booo :(
