3 reviews for Thousand Oaks Inn
It wasn't anything fancy but I'd stay again if I had to move out of my apartment for a few days.
Here's why:
The room was clean
The king bed was comfortable; crisp, white linens and 6 pillows.
There were fresh baked cookies at the reception desk
The front desk clerks were pleasant
They had quite a few DVDs (of fairly recent movies) that you could borrow for the evening
When Du-pars closed a hour early and my boyfriend couldn't get his cherry pie from room service, they sent a guy to our room with a bag of 6 (still warm) freshly baked chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies
The shower/tub was big and super clean
The showerhead was one of those large "rain" types
They had free WiFi - the connection was too slow for our Xbox 360 Live but it worked fine for our laptops
The courtyard was nicely landscaped and quiet
There was a DVD player, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room as well as a blow dryer. I mention this because I always like to know what a room has in it before I go and sometimes hotel websites omit this info
I would say that the only real drawback was the room size, it was tiny for the price. However, it did the trick and it was close to everything; my work, my gym, my boyfriends work and the house where our cats were staying. Yes, the hotel allows pets but we thought our 3 cats would go nuts (and drive us nuts) in a tiny hotel room.
People thought this was:
- Useful (1)
- Cool (1)
Our customers who come to Hockey Alley from out of town recommend staying at this hotel because its close to everything and friendly staff.
I stayed at Thousand Oaks Inn for a few days. They haven't changed their name but the inn was managed by Best Western. I was a bit surprise to see that they painted the wall pink. Yes, pink. The room was nice - meaning it was clean and comfortable. However, I could see that the air conditioner unit was probably older than me. The AC unit did its job - making the room cool, but water from condensation leaked and soaked the carpet around it. Since I was only there for a couple of nights, I didn't say anything about it. I just hope that Best Western could up grade their facility so it could say good bye to the 70s and say hello to the 21st century. Moreover, I have to say that the staffs were excellent. Myra, the Front Desk Receptionist, was very competent and helpfull. She really knew the area and could come up with great recommendation for places to visit and to get a bite. The cleaning staffs were also excellent. Last but certainly not least, this place have a great location as well. Again, the only draw back for me was the PINK paint and their Jurassic appliances.
