We were still digesting our enormous dinner from Phil's down the road, but of course we had to pull over when we saw this fruit stand. What can I say but, Meh? It's not that there was anything wrong with the Thistle Hut (herewith referred to as TH), it's just that there was nothing really great about it either. There wasn't a lot to choose from in terms of fresh fruit and vegetables although the prices were reasonable.
I did have one truly perplexing moment at the TH when I was nearly knocked into the next aisle by an anorexic chick hell bent on making her way to the jars against the wall. This girl was not messing around and the area was littered with those of us foolish enough to get in her way. After she moved on I was curious and headed over to see what the fuss was about. There I discovered something that truly terrified the inner foodie in me. Jars of Waldens Farms sugar free and zero calorie "fruit spreads"...which I am quite sure contain zero fruit in their "fruit spread", it's just an odd item to sell at a fruit stand no?
