I went to Pennae for a haircut and deep condition treatment. I felt my hair had been damaged during a coloring process done by another stylist. Pennae said this was not so and that my hair was only dehydrate. Pennae took the time to teach me how to properly condition, apply styling product and blow dry my hair. This knowledge has cut my frizz factor down by 90%. My hair is now soft and has the smoothness I want it to have.
Pennae also did an awesome cut to my hair. She took several inches off my hair and gave me a very stylish bob. I have received so many complements on my new hair style. The new cut not only looks good it has simplified my life. My hair looks better now than it ever has, and the maintenance takes so much less time than before. The fact that less hair has left my body feeling much cooler during my workouts and the hot weather is an added bonus.
This was my first visit to Pennae which I found on Yelp. She has received many great reviews, and she did not disappoint me with the services she provided to me. I will be coming back to see Pennae when it's time for another haircut.
This Review is for Sara Macris - the Pope to the Church that is my Fabulous Hair. I've been going to Sara since HighSchool people - and as the new year rings in that'll be just about 10 years! She "keeps it real" as they say, meaning she gives you an amazing (manageable) cut, beautiful bright color and the price won't make it so you can only eat beans and rice for the next month.
After moving to San Francisco, I have tried about 3 stylists who All charge a TON and have never even come close to just giving me an amazing hair style! So I trek (via train too!) to San Jose just to See Sara; and it is WELL worth the effort.
She just moved to Thee Gallery, they are lucky to have the Sassy and Wonderful Sara!
If I saw the reviews for this place, I'd be scared away. They look so fake.
Regardless, I saw Andrea for waxing for a long time. She's very professional and somehow manages to make it fairly painless! I also used to see her at Plum Spa. The parking is much better at Thee Gallery.
Andrea is very sweet and we talk about kids and she even referred me to her mom, who saved me when I colored my hair jet-black.
I followed my fab hair stylist, Sara Macris, here from another salon. I was a little bit wary about sharing a parking lot with a Trader Joe's on a Saturday morning, but it was no problem finding a space. I didn't see the salon on my first cruise around the parking lot, but it was not hard to find once I got out of my car--it's on the second floor, above the Pet Food Express.
The space is airy and light, and the other staff I interacted with were very friendly. I'm sticking with Sara, so I'm sticking with Thee Gallery!
This review is for Pennae. I have been a client for 20 years. Yes, we have our Anniversary coming up! :) I have had Pennae cutting/styling/coloring my hair for this long because she keeps me in style. If it wasn't for her who knows....I may still have a perm! :) I have referred many clients to Pennae over the years and all have loved her talents, personality and personally, I love the hair and life therapy :) She is simply the best! I can't say enough.
I go to Thee Gallery Salon to see Andrea. Like Caroline, Andrea was previously at Plum Spa in downtown San Jose. I can't imagine going to anyone else, so driving to Los Gatos instead of walking a few blocks during my lunch break is worth it.
Thee Gallery is in a nice shopping center right off 85 and 17, so you don't have to hassle with parking problems or the downtown Los Gatos lunch crowd. Since I've only been to Thee Gallery to see Andrea for touch ups, I can't speak for the rest of the crew over there. However, everyone is really friendly and the salon is much more comfortable than Plum Spa.
These 5 stars are for Andrea Jorgensen who is a wonderful esthetician. If you are interested in trying a brazilian wax, Andrea is your girl!! She is quick and makes you extremely comfortable under the circumstances and you will come back!
I used to see Caroline for my brazilians. I followed her from Plum Spa in downtown San Jose. Caroline is so sweet and she is so cute. She always did an awesome job and was fast!!! Not quite pain free but she was fast and did fantastic work! I totally recommend her for anyone wanting a brazilian. She also does facials.
