I stayed here with my new wife for the first leg of our honeymoon around the GYE.  I was a little concerned, because it looked like this hotel and restaurant catered to an older crowd.  It turns out that I was completely wrong...and pleased.  The rooms are very comfortable, not fancy or luxurious, but very nice with a rustic feel.  Everyone was very friendly at the hotel and in the restaurant.  We paid for the honeymoon package, which was a really great deal.  I think it was cheaper than not getting the package, and we got breakfast in bed and a dinner in the restaurant all included.  The breakfast in bed includes 2 meals and mimosas.  Since they have a nice restaurant below, the room service food was actually very good.  The mimosas were awesome as well.  Rather than getting 2 mimosas, as the package says, you get a large carafe of orange juice and a full half-bottle of champagne.  That was the perfect way to start a day of cruising around Jackson.

Before dinner, we went to the bar for a couple of drinks.  We were pleasantly surprised when there was a kick-ass band playing there.  The band was called One Ton Pig, and they were playing some bluegrassy ryan adams type music.  It was just our style.  After a couple of drinks, we had our free dinner at the restaurant.  We started with the Wort famous corn chowder.  It was THE best corn chowder we have ever had.  Don't miss it if you are near there.  We actually stopped back by at the end of the trip to get another bowl.  Dinner was great as well.  We could pick any 3 items on the menu, each.  Not being fools, we opted for the most expensive entrees.  I ordered the buffalo filet and my wife ordered the beef filet.  Both were awesome.  Again, dinner came with a half-bottle of champagne that we took back to our room for another time.  Sweet.

A few hours later, we returned to the bar.  The place was packed!  The band was still playing and everyone was dancing.  I never imagined that this bar was the local hang out.  The Million Dollar Cowboy bar had nothing on this place.  Overall, great food, great room, great time.

Wonderful hotel. Great rooms, terrific service and people so helpful, you might want to take them home. Special shout out to Sean (the Boston guy) and the woman at reception who referred us to a great restaurant.

Delightful, 'old-world' hotel.  Will stay here again.

Great hotel.  Very comfortable cozy rooms.  Complete with large stuffed bear to sleep with. Granite counter tops, modern fixtures. Perfect location.  This hotel is in the middle of downtown and walking distance to everything.  Room service was delicious.  The restaurant downstairs has awesome food, especially breakfast.  Internet access, concierge, valet, etc.  Historic hotel with lots of cool artifacts on display from the old cowboy days.

We were in Jackson in October, and a lot of places are closed.  We tried the Million Dollar Bar hoping to catch some NFL TV and a sandwich.  We moved onto the Wort coffee shop to find a screen larger than 21 inches, and something other than a cheese steak sandwich.  We had a bowl of chowder, and a pastrami sandwich between us.  While there is a sports bar a few blocks to the west, we had a lot of company at the Wort.  The food was very good, and affordable.  We spent some time reviewing the history of the hotel before continuing our walking tour of Jackson downtown.
