First, the doctors I have seen have been great!  I've see six, I think, so far, and have two more to go... you have to see them all when your pregnant.  I have no issues with the office staff, having read other reviews, I must have been really lucky at my like twelve visits since March because they have never made me wait, unless they were all busy taking care of someone else. The ultrasound techs have been great, considerate, cooperative and very helpful.

The ones that have kind of irritated me, however, are the nurses.  I've had some great ones, but others are just there to write things down and don't seem to care about what you have to say.  I think in all my visits I've had the same nurse like twice, so it's not like there's a history with any one of them.  They ask if you have concerns, and you tell them, and they say, "Well, talk to the doctor about that."  Why the heck did you ask then?  I was planning on asking her when she came in to see me.

The point of going is for the doctors though, so I'm going to say that I have no problems with the ones I've seen, but if I had to pick a favorite, then it's between my doc (Dr. Ericson) and Dr. Lui, they are both wonderful... Dr. Lui makes me laugh at every visit and definitely helps to keep me relaxed in those not so comfortable moments.  Hope I get one of them when I deliver in a couple of weeks, but from my experience with the other doctors, I tend to believe it won't be that big of a deal no matter who is on call that day.

I've finally had my last straw with this office. When I first started going in for appointments here and there, no big deal. When I became pregnant was when I really realized what a terrible mistake I had made. Close to 9 months along in my pregnancy, I had gone in because I had been sick and I didn't feel "right". Dr. Levin proceeded to tell me that I was pregnant so I should just suck it up. She told me that while SHE was pregnant she would lay on the floor in pain at night and then go in to deliver babies the next day because that was her job. She thought I was trying to get out of going to work or something, when after my eyes started welling up with tears she rolled hers and said she supposed I could get a blood draw just in case.

Turns out I had liver enzymes elevated to 10x what they should have been. They called me the next day and had me go to Prentice. I drove up there, and they redrew. Same thing - elevated liver enzymes. No one knew exactly what it was, but one of the nurses who admitted me told me that I would most likely be induced to protect the baby. Scary, but okay. Better safe then sorry.

When I got up to the Labor and Delivery floor, I was greeted by a Dr. Kamel. AWFUL! She was unreasonibly rude to me. I asked her if it was true what the nurse said, and she rolled her chair over, put her face literally in my face and asked me "Now, why would you think that? Are you some type of Doctor or something?" I was stressed out beyond belief, had no idea what was going on now I had the world's rudest doctor questioning why I should think such thoughts (mind you, I was moved to LABOR AND DELIVERY), and when I explained what had happened, she implied that whoever would be so idiotic as to tell me something like that would be getting reprimanded.

While I waited in the hospital, I saw a different doctor every day since nothing much goes on in the hospital on the weekends, all the while watching my liver enzymes rise higher and higher with each blood draw.

My the time the weekend was done,  I had been in there 3 and one half days. I was 37 weeks on Tuesday (5 days in), and they finally went ahead and induced me. After that, things were okay....I thankfully never saw Dr. Anita "nothing is wrong with you, you're just lazy" Levin, which I assume had something to do with the fact that her assumption was horribly wrong.

Every time I call, the office is rude and not helpful. I've had a few minor billing issues, but nothing major. The one thing that I feel like is the common thing here - no one in that office gives a bleep about who you are, how you're feeling or what you're going through and that is never how ANY type of doctor's office should be, NO MATTER WHAT.

If I could get 5 negative stars, I would. As a new mother, worst experience ever.

Wow, if I could give negative stars, I would not hesitate.  This place has been a complete nightmare for over 5 months now and I'm hoping to save someone else from the misery.

It all started with my office visit.  The doctor, Levitt, was running over an hour late, then rushed me in and out in under 5 minutes, dismissing all of my questions and concerns with comments like, "bodies are weird".  Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for over $900 for my annual visit.  I was stunned, sure my insurance isn't the greatest, but $900 for less than 5 minutes???

Surely something wasn't right so I called my insurance.  Turns out that my claim was submitted incorrectly as something completely unrelated to my visit.  I contacted the Women's Group to ask them to resubmit the claim and the first woman I talked to agreed immediately.  However, a month later, nothing had been resubmitted.  When I called back, I was brushed off to another woman, who I called twice with no response before I happened to catch her at her desk on the third try.  She immediately started lecturing me in a very rude tone about how I know nothing about medical billing and that I was billed for what the doctor said.  After some coaxing, she finally admitted that it was incorrect and referred me to another person.  Two more unreturned calls and I finally caught this one who told me she would resubmit the claim.  Thank goodness right?

Well, the claim was not resubmitted, it was submitted as a completely new claim.  Long story short, I paid what I owed and am now receiving invoices claiming that I owe even more money.  Seems the billing office is confused since they submitted the claims incorrectly and have no idea what they are billing for.  They have sent over 10 invoices to date.  I explained to one woman that I am paid in full and had my insurance company send the proof, however, they have taken to invoicing me literally every other day rather than addressing me personally.

Meanwhile, I received a call from the office on a Friday afternoon informing me that I needed to call the office immediately regarding my test results.  I freaked out the entire weekend until Monday when I called first thing.  When the nurse finally decided to call back 4 hours later, she informed me that I have a non threatening condition that, first of all, I did not authorize a test for, second of all, the doctor already knew I had, and third, requires no treatment.  I only had to receive this call in the first place because my test results were not available when promised, only 2 weeks later.

This place is completely infuriating.  I refuse to pay any more money for their incompetence.  This on top of the terrible treatment of patients is inexcusable.  Please, please, PLEASE save yourself the time and aggravation and go to a good doctor.  There are doctors who actually care about you as a patient and will treat you as a human being.  I found my new doctor on Yelp and couldn't be happier.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE FOR A DOCTOR'S OFFICE!!!!

Dr. Murthy rocks.

I feel cared for and listened to when I go in.  She speaks frankly and professionally, but we have some laughs as well.  I have had some health issues over the past year, and she has been attentive, helpful and encouraging in figuring out how to get me back on track.  I went in today for a check-in about my medication, and felt relaxed after speaking with her.

I highly recommend her.  She's very good at her job.

I'm getting more tired and perturbed by this big practice. My doctor has been okay up until now -- I'm trying to conceive and having trouble. Pap appointments were fine. But every pre-conception appointment I've had has been harried and I always leave feeling embarrassed and then, inevitably, angry. Her bedside manner is fine if you're just in for a checkup. But if you have any concerns, you might as well give up. It's difficult to get through to her on her busy schedule, and when I do, she has no time for answering questions. I get shuffled off to her personal assistant. I'm just so over it. I'm going to find another doctor, probably at a different practice. Appointments never occur on time. It's always about forty-five minutes behind.

I did see Dr. Murthy once, for an exam, and she was very friendly.

My doctor (Dr. Lui) is phenomenal, as is her nurse that often returns calls. They have both been extremely helpful and accessible to us during a difficult late pregnancy loss.

However, the rest of the office/staff varies. I've had difficulty a few times making appointments where I've tried to get an appointment at the time specifically directed by my doctor, and never received a call back to schedule so I had to call back myself. Also, while this is probably the norm anywhere, we had several staff members ask how many weeks pregnant I was even when my reason for my visit, after hours no less, was clearly stated as follow up to pregnancy loss. How hard is it to read my chart?

I have been very happy with my experience at Northwestern. They will always fit me in for a last minute must-need emergency visit. The nurses always take the time to sit with you patiently and will go out of their way to make you feel assured and relaxed. Kathy Fuller is an exceptional registered nurse. I highly recommend her. Only problem with this place can be getting through to make or modify and appointment. But it is no surprise as to why it's so busy!

When it comes to seeing doctors, I'm a total freak.   Well, not totally..as I assume most normal people don't really enjoy the whole experience.

Well, I may a bit worse than real people and put off the visit as long as possible, until my caring friends insist that I just make appointments.

Finally with an insurance card in hand I visited Dr Deborah Lindner.
After a referral from a good friend, who was referred to this practice by her boss...as on down the line - I check it out.

Let me say - it was the single best doctor I have ever met.  She listened to me, helped me through my fears, even figured out how to calm my extreme anxiety when it came to these kinds of things, and understood my views when it comes to some kinds of medicine...she declared me a "naturalist" (which made me feel strangely proud yet kind of weird) and told me she understood and would be happy to work with me.

Awesome.  Just a great doctor and I have been told the rest of the doctors along with the nurse practitioners are equally as skilled and caring.

There is something soothing or maybe just not as daunting about going for a girly doctors visit and walking into a doctors office of all women doctors.

Oh - and it's right on Michigan Ave!

Prior to choosing this practice, I read the reviews and despite the negativity, I still went there.  My mistake.  There is nothing redeeming about this place.  The doctors, the nurses, the staff - nothing.  The only thing they have going for them is location and the newness of Prentice.  They continued to ignore my complaints over and over.  Finally, I went to the hospital on my own only to be informed that both me and my baby could have died because they didn't catch what was wrong with me.  After I had the baby, I called with a temp of 103.6 and they told me that they might be able to fit me in at 4pm.  They don't read your charts and now I know that they don't put your complaints in your charts in an effort to protect themselves.  Stay away from this place.   Oh and the ultrasound tech told me I was having a girl - two minutes after my husband and I told her we wanted it to be a surprise - thanks for nothing.  Also, the one time I saw Dr. Kamel - she told me that I needed to go on a diet, when I was six months pregnant.

ditto on dr. kamel having no bedside manner! after being referred by someone with a similar high-risk background, i had high hopes and was sorely disappointed.

i'm an educated person who takes my health seriously and needs the give and take of question/answer with my doctor-- to which she was at best dismissive and at worst rushing to write prescriptions, pawning me off onto genetic counselors, or suggesting prophylactic surgery. she is knowledgeable (scientifically) and courteous enough, but has absolutely no concept of empathy or reading her patients.

she made me feel like a moron for not taking "preventive" measures for family history. she said i was 'burying my head in the sand' not getting genetic testing, even after i explained it was financially impossible for me.

she was condescending, brusque, borderline insulting, and didn't listen to me at all-- bullying me into expensive STD tests (after i told her i didnt need them) & saying they were "required for my age group".

i left the appointment embarassed, humiliated, and furious.  the worst insult of all was getting the $600 bill, most of which my insurance rejected due to all the unnecessary tests!  trying to get her on the phone to resolve it proved to be equally frustrating, and as a result i've been putting off seeing another doctor at this practice.  i'd still like to be connected to this hospital, so if anyone has recommendations for other OB-GYNS here, i'm all ears!

Let me start by saying this obgyn Dr. lui and the manager as well are horrible, at first I thought Dr. Lui was funny and pretty cool, but it turns out that humor is a cover for not really giving a shit.... I had issue's with the billing, but the most disturbing thing is they denied side effects that could and did happen from the IUD. And I believed for a year that all my weight gain, and acne break outs and more were because of some other issue I was not aware of due to the fact of what Dr. Lui insisted on telling me that the IUD could not have caused these things... It took 5 other types of doctors till I found out that the IUD was in deed the cause of what I now am going through( hormonal imbalance) I'm 30 yrs old. This started when I as 28 and I still even though the IUD has been removed I still suffer from these hormonal issues. I remember when Dr. Lui was telling me as I was crying to her about all I was going through " we just don't work well together and your going to have to find another Dr. sorry so tell you this, and its highly unlikely that you are suffering from hormonal in balance" I begged her to help me just get back to normal so I wouldn't have to start fresh with a new obgyn and she said I'll see what I can do. The very next day the manager called me, left a mean rude message, as well as sent a letter with the same tone saying "I m not welcome at there establishment and never to come there again and to get my records sent to my new obgyn, sorry but they are not responsible for the side effects I'm suffering from, and they will not do any thing further to assist me." I had a annual that Tuesday the day before she fired me, and had been waiting for a while to get it taken care of, but they kicked me out. All I was doing was asking for help when there the ones guilty for not informing me of the possible side effects I was concerned of getting in the first place. They are heartless, my last two years of my twenties were ruined I couldn't, or wouldn't go any where due to fact I gain fifty lbs from the IUD and had acne all over my face, neck , chest , and back, as well as being super moody, and tired all day and night no matter how much sleep I got, oh I forgot to mention the lovely hair loss too among other things. I do not recommend them at all in fact I would say your better off going any where else but here. I also am going to end this by saying they lie to you face about birth control, there may be women out there who don't get any of the harm full side effects but that doesn't mean they should keep quite about the women who do get the harmful side effects that hardly go away quickly, or even at all. Birth control is such huge money maker in that industry that they feel compelled to lie about such truth in what harm can be done, If any one who reads this is suffering from side effect s from the IUD or the abortion pill, or even any birth control feel free to contact me, I have already started a class action law suit. my email is lasvegasprincess@gmail... thank you Brittany

Overall, I have had a pretty good experience with the doctor and the nurse practitioner I've had to see. They are friendly enough, answer all of my questions and set me at ease as best they can with the procedures I've had performed. But the administrative staff needs a major overhaul. They are rude, incompetent, sloppily dressed and are ill-placed for a practice that deals with sensitive issues. I am also appalled at how I've seen them treat pregnant women, making them wait at the windows while they gossip or just plain ignore them for a few minutes. I always dread checking out, they are so inept they somehow make me feel like I'm the idiot...

After multiple OB/GYN's that I didn't like, finding this place was the best thing!  I love that it is an all female practice and their offices are elegant.  One star deducted for their nursing staff though---I feel like I am rushed by them and don't receive the customer service that should be offered.  Luckily, I spend much more time with Kathy Fuller, one of the RN's at the practice.  She answers all my questions and is thorough with her exam.  Kathy is very knowlegable on different birth control methods and offers her opinion on the best for each patient.  She's a mom herself and takes care of me like I was her daughter.  I've had all my friends go to her and the feelings are the same.  Kathy is very easy to get an appointment with and changing it is never a problem.

I had a great experience with this practice. I was told by another physician that I had stress, which was causing some gynecological issues. I wanted a second opinion because I didn't feel right. I got right in and the doctor suspected a problem. While I was there, I also received blood tests and an ultrasound in the clinic on the same day. Subsequently, I had surgery to rid the problem, but all the physicians I saw were great. One of the doctors didn't have as much experience in dealing with my medical problem, so she referred me to her colleague. I ended up having the surgery with Dr. Kamel. She did a great job as well as a great job in the post-op appointment a week after surgery. I always felt at ease and the doctors spent a lot of time before the surgery educating me about the issue. In fact, one doctor spoke with me for 30 minutes, which is a lot of time for a doctor. Dr. Kamel and her colleagues fixed my issue and I am healthy now. She and her staff always treated me with respect!

I love the office, location, and most of the staff.  I had the WORST experience with Dr. Kamel.  She crossed the line professionaly and has ZERO bedside manor.  She got in an actual verbal argument with me. This is my first pregnacy and I did not know I had to go visit the doctor every 4 weeks, the office scheduled my appointment 6 weeks, but it was my fault apparently.  Dr. Kamel asked me if I read the literarture that states I have to see the Doctor every 4 weeks and asked me when I did if I had working fingers and a phone to call and change my appointment.  She asked me if my fingers were broken.  Now when someone schedules me for an apoointment I do not question them, again this is my first pregnancy, I just listen to whatever the doctor and the office tells me. Also FYI she kept me waiting an hour.  My appointment was at 11:10 and she didnt see me until 12:15. Other than Dr. Kamel, I do really appreciate Dr. Katz.  But Ihave to honestly say my expereince was so bad I am close to chnaging practices, since I DO NOT want Dr. Kamel delivering my baby.
