The St. Louis Women's Exchange is a delightful tea room with a higher purpose. The food is reminiscent of women's luncheons of the 1950's, and very delicious. I had the special which was shrimp salad on tomatoes, with the coconut cake for dessert. The place fills up with happy, chatting women over the lunch hour. Tables are pretty close together so it is crowded and loud, but happy. It did remind me of a hen house a bit, but in a very positive sort of way (since I'm a hen). The wait staff is pleasant and attentive, but not obtrusive.
