All the fun a faux finished castle can promise!

Who wouldn't love a castle filled with toys, costumes, games, puzzles, figurines, puppets, dolls, magic cards and so much more? So here's your chance to run wild and grab silly things to delight you and any of your friends.

This is my one stop shop for unique and funny gifts. As a gaming household, the hubby and I make it a point to visit The Wizard's Chest at least once a season to stock up on new games. Whether you want a board, card, or dice game for any age this is the place for you!

All of the games are available for the staff to take home and play, so if you're not sure what to get just ask someone on the floor. Plus there's a cozy parking lot in the back for the lucky few, huge vehicles will not fit, but most everyone else should.

I've not found a better selection of games or costumes anywhere else in town. Any stop into Cherry Creek deserves a stop into The Wizard's Chest.

Talk about curb appeal..............I love the faux castle facade; completely out of place compared everything else in Cherry Creek. It makes you excited before you go in.

Bad timing on my part; I went in a couple of days after Halloween and the store was still torn apart. I realize that the 2nd floor is Halloween 24/7 but the staircase and main floor looked like they hosted a huge rave the night before. It was messy with a overall lack of merchandise; not for a lack of employees, either. I did see some gag gifts, but on the particular day, even Spencer's had a better selection.

Wizard's Chest is the only place (I know of) in Denver where you can get one of the "branded" stuffed animals named after a germ. http://www.giantmicrob...

The good news on this particular day, was that parking was available in front of the store and I had time left on my slip from the kiosk.

You have to admit this place is pretty sweet...I mean, consider the elevation of the store is of a CASTLE ENTRANCE. Yea, wicked cool.

I've purchased wigs and other various whimsical items here on an ad hoc basis, and always end up browsing around longer than intended.

Maybe its just me, but I can't walk past a crazy mask without trying it on in front of a mirror. They also have a good Ben Nye makeup collection for hardcore theatre purposes. I believe they have some great starter makeup kits, which is what I used when I first started in musical theatre over 9 years ago in high school. Ah yes...great memories.

You will find some high quality costumes here, not that trashy plastic stuff that you find at Target the night before Halloween.

My only complaint is that its the typical Cherry Creek parking situation (blah!). I'll deal, but only because this place totally rules.

NOTE TO BRIDES: I snagged an "invisible" pen here to mark my RSVPs on the back with a number to correspond with guest names in case they forgot to fill theirs out! This little trick comes in handy, especially when you have absent-minded guests. One side of the pen is the "ink," and the other side has a black light to read your "secret message" in. :)

This is a wonderful store for taking your sweet time browsing around, and making lame jokes about the things you see.  Chuckle, browse, touch touch.  It seems like heaven for a kid. As an adult, the atmosphere and merchandise reminded me of great things I'd forgotten about childhood (fake fly in a fake ice cube, whoopee cushion, etc).  There are too many rubber snakes though. Some of us have phobias over here!

Amazing selection of Halloween everything (among so many other things). Incredibly helpful and enthusiastic staff who seemed genuinely interested in helping their customers craft the perfect costume. Despite the chaos of the week-before-Halloween rush, everyone working was happy to be there and offer assistance and advice. I got everything I needed in under 20 minutes. If you're stumped on ideas, turn to them; if you've already got something in mind, they'll be excited to make it happen and ask you to bring in a picture of the finished product.

This place is so FUN!!! They have all the board games you could possible imagine, neat kitschy accessories, huge assortment of costumes. I feel like a kid again whenever I walk through the door! It's a great place to pick up a little gift for a friend or a new game for game night.

Love Wizard's Chest. They always have the best costume stuff (although it is on the pricey side, but where else are you going to find Sasquatch feet??). But be prepared, if you're here the week or so before Halloween the entire place is totally packed/crazy.

During the off-season, this store is a gem. When I was in middle school we used to come here after school and spend hours trying on silly hats and looking at all the awesome/random knickknacks- and the employees were always nice about it! If you want to get a random or funny or gag gift for someone, Wizard's Chest is the place to be. I went last night looking for some D&D-themed gift ideas for a friend. Left with some kick ass dice and this awesome book of geek tattoos. Geek tattoos! Any place that specifically caters to the nerd crowd is an automatic 5 star. Yes!

Best. Store. Ever.

(Even though I got owned at marbles by some douchebag 11 year old. Oh it's ON, Jake. Or Zeb. Or Jack. Or Zak. Or whatever your Cherry Creek name is.)

Oh wizard's chest a throwback to my nerdier days, when the world was  a simpler place. Contains almost any board game, or magic trick you could think of along with several items you would never think need to be bought. Good for specialized game, magic, or costume items. Like the sweet boot shaped sideburns I wore to a yelp event (Hollah).

When I was 8 yrs old I would have loved this store. Actually...who am I kidding? I'm 28 and LOVE this store! Lots of fun games, toys, gag gifts, and costumes. Today they had presidential candidate masks on display in honor of election day. While buying an Obama mask was tempting for tonight's election party Tiffany C and I were on a search for a few gag gifts.

Our mission was to find a trick mirror and while we didn't quite find this at The Wizard's Chest the people who work here spent lots of time looking for the mirror they thought they had.  Good spot to buy unique, fun gifts or just somewhere to stop by when you need to put a smile on your face...

When giving an unofficial tour of Denver to any out-of-towners, The Wizard's Chest should always be on your list. With it's unique store-front and brightly-colored, eccentric entrance it will bring out the creative, fun-loving kids inside even the stodgiest and most self-conscious grown-ups.

Indulge your secret nerdy side, whatever kind you have. There's whole sections for magic tricks and illusions, extreme jigsaw puzzles and mind games, costumes and accessories, board games and miniatures, and even intricate wooden playhouses with knights and dragons and a princess in a tower.

The down side is that almost everything you can find at the Wizard's Chest you can find at a less flashy joint for much cheaper - but sometimes it's worth paying few extra dollars to walk down the purple-carpeted staircase in a giant plastic castle just to purchase a giant rubber duck in a raincoat.

SERIOUSLY!!! Why is this place reviewed so little!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
Awesome store for Halloween, games, weird games and toys, gorgeous chess sets, buttons ( I used to have a button fetish), stage makeup.... this is a geeks haven! I have been coming in here for my quirky needs since the 90s! GO WIZARDS CHEST!

Wow!  I'm not certain where to begin or how to tie everything together in any sort of cohesive manner.  Think five-year-old child hopped up on Jolt Cola, Pop Rocks, and a free reign at an amusement park.  Exciting!

Here's a list of the coolest things I saw here:
18,000 piece puzzles
inexpensive Halloween costumes accessories-A Mummy Baby!
lime green bobbed wig
vampire teeth pacifier
Elton John-esque sunglasses
Stuffed infectious disease cells (Bubonic Plague, E Coli, Flu)
Tattoo band aids
Pirate rubber ducky
marbles
Er...Pop Rocks

Oh, another pretty cool thing?  it may seem that there are too many young employees working.  There are.  They add to the whole ambiance of the shop.  They sit at tables and play games and ask everyone passing within their vicinity if they need help finding something.  I was there for about thirty minutes; I was asked that question at least fifteen times.

The Wizard's Chest - it's not just for Halloween! But, you will find a ton of Halloween costumes, accessories and goodies here. Just don't go the week before the ghoulish holiday or you'll find yourself waiting in line just to get in.

During the "off" season, The Wizard's Chest still offers up plenty of fun with costumes, but also games, toys, theatrical accessories, mind challenges and more.

Parking is kind of a big suck. Like Cherry Creek always is. But, this is one of the few places down there to make the hassle worthwhile.

I love this place. I took my son to look for Wizard "stuff", and no wonder he wants to be a Wizard - wizards are cool. I want to be a Wizard too!
Toys and games and costumes and just fun stuff everywhere. Halloween may just become my new favorite holiday. Although, the young man who kept touching me as he explained the costumes weren't just for halloween (wink wink). Dude, slow down.
Back on track.
They had a guy doing magic tricks downstairs and explaining anything and everything about trick-mastery to the kids (or anyone that would listen).
We could have stayed here all day.

There was something weird going on with 2 tables of grown ass men on the first level. It looked like they were playing cards, but not. Mistakenly, my son asked one of them to explain what one of the toys did, and he impolitely explained that he didn't work there. This is when I realized how many of these guys were just hanging out...in the toy store...doing whatever the hell they were doing...on a saturday afternoon.

And the parking...one more reason to be disgruntled in cherry creek. A teeny tiny lot in the back - don't ever think you might get a spot there. Yet, not a big enough deterrent for this amazing castle O' toys.

I wonder if they have my nun outfit ;)

Fun place to bum around, point at the geeks playing magic (at least they got out of the parent's basement and into the sun).  Seriosuly, check out the bacon bandages and feed miniature knight to one of the dragons...

To see this store taken to a totally different level... if you're in Seattle, check out Archie McFee's (the store that has all the freaky stuff you never knew you didn't need).  Another great find.

There are toy stores - and then there is the Wizard's Chest, a fantastical, two-tiered, 8,000-square-foot, kaleidoscopic castle brimming with brainy toys, mind-challenging games and puzzles, lifelike puppets, vivid costumes, hats, wigs and masks, a theatrical make-up counter and books.

Chessboards lay across tables, inviting both novices and masterminds to vie for coveted winning titles, in-store tournaments celebrating collectible card games, like Yu-Gi-Oh, are held weekly, and the yearly Rocky Mountain Yo-Yo Championships brings fierce competitors to the floor.

But more than anything else, this imagination-inspiring emporium is all about fun. It's a fantasy world for kids, to be sure, but captivated parents are just as susceptible to its magic

i had to find some of  those Tangoes card (great game, drives you crazy trying to make geometric shapes).  It seems that there are about 2 places where they sell them in Denver.  So here i am browsing through, and trying to not buy anything else (failed).  Downstairs is an array of games from chess and go, to puzzles, cluedo and other masterminds.  Upstairs is a costum shop.  Did not check out the prices, but saw a cute girl in princess attire.  As she did not want to take it out, they rung her up, seated on the counter.  Was very nice.
Great decor.

You could spend days in this place and not see everything!  I have come here for various reasons and usually spend more time and money that I planned.  Last time I came in I was looking for juggling stuff - I was just learning and found a small section devoted just to juggling.  There is a section just for magic, games of all shape and size, the list goes on. One of my fav purchases was one of those rubber bracelets with corporate w---- printed on it, I hang it proudly in my car.  They are not cheap but, hey, you are in Cherry Creek.

A bit pricey for costumes but you'll get the best.  My son loves this store, great unique toys and games for the kids.  In the heart of the best part of the Cherry Creek shopping district.  If you have a kiddo or even a playful mate they'll probably dig this place.  Mom's, get out your wallet.

Haven't you noticed that at Toys R Us they sell pretty generic toys that you get tired of really fast and they seem to resell the same toy but just with a different name? Well if you're tired of that you should visit the really unique and creative Wizards Chest toy store. When you walk in you will be mesmerized with the level of depth and complexity invested in the layout of the store. It's mostly all purple but it goes with the mood. They sell really neat stuff that you've never even heard of before like Dyablos which are really big yo-yo like toys. Even better is that you don't even have to waste money to have fun at this place because they have many event going on all the time like they're yo-yo club, the chess club, and among others. The best time to see the store in high demand is during halloween because upstairs they have one of the best selections of halloween attire and costumes in the city. I guarantee that you can do all of your halloween shopping here if you're willing to spend some big cash. What else can I say bring the kids and look around for yourself to see what's new.

Hi.. Well for the last 2 Halloween costumes we've looked nowhere else but the Wizard's Chest !! I love the store and it's amazing merchandise offered on 2 levels.   During the Halloween season I'm always tempted to look at my local Targets or thrift stores for my costume but we always end up here and walk out with some amazing outfits which always get tons of compliments !

Oh yeah, their customer service is great and they will go to great lengths to find what you're looking for.  Although the prices are not "discount" prices you know that whatever you buy here will look great year after year.

I love this place.  Talk about feeling like a kid again.  A person could lose hours in this store and still leave feeling delighted.  Costumes, games, gag gifts, magic sets, juggling, D&D books, novelty items...you name it, they've got it. This is one of the coolest stores in Denver.  Take some time and visit.  You won't be disappointed!
