The closest I've ever been to heaven. Love the wonderful employees here. It's small for a wine store, but that is all changing since they are relocating down the street to a bigger warehouse. This place is a very intimate because of the small size of it and it's employees. Brian is the best employee there. Always teaching me about south american wines and beyond.
Found out about this place since I started a new job in Orange. Have been looking for a south american wine for the past 3 years and I have searched many places and no luck. Until i met Brian, all that changed. He found a whole case of my wine.
You wont find any wine tasting machines here like other wine places. You'll definitely find staff members serving you a glass of wine and telling you what you are tasting though. Thats what i love about this place. It is a great atmosphere and great experience every time i set foot in there.
Brian ocassionally BBQ's for the wine tasting events they do. I recommend this place to everyone. -

Santa Ana, CA
This place is definitely a hidden gem. What I liked about it was that the wine is organized more by country and style then by price. That means you can really compare a higher priced wine to its lower cost cousin.
My biggest issue here was the lack of variety in their wine. They have the staples of wine selection but there isn't much beyond that. I couldn't find a Malbec anywhere for the life of me.
The people that work here are very friendly, the prices were reasonable, and they had a good selection of the wines they did carry. I just wish they had a bigger selection.
Also they will be moving soon (December 12th I think is what he said, and if not by then they will be by the start of next year). They are moving just down the road but make sure to go check out their larger and hopefully better location. -

Yup, new place to go for my wine. I just recently got into wine and been drinking wine ever since I started to grow out of shots and beer :P
Prices are right and the selections of wine are phenomenon (had spell check that).
Stock up and get ready to serve! Going to try wine tasting soon too. -

Love the wine club! Each employee is highly trainined and friendly. Ask for Krista! They always have great weekly specials and tastings. Here you will find wines you can't find at stores three times the size (cough, Bevmo.) I go here to stock up whenever I can.

No it is not fancy.
No I don't think they have AC.
But guess what they do have?
Wine, champagne, a beer selection...come on this place is awesome.
It's not bev mo with shelves upon shelves of over priced snack food and useless glassware, it's exactly what it claims to be. The wine club is like a secret playhouse that grew up. No membership needed just come on through and ask us questions, taste our wine and we won't even be bothered that you have no idea what you are talking about.
Yup this is my kind of place. Did I mention I got 3 bottles of wine for 35 bucks? -
Review from Elaine N.
...I guess I would have enjoyed this place more if I have never been to Hi-Time... The place was probably 1/10 the size of Hi-Time -- super super tiny, and the wine tasting took place in a corner. There were no seats, so everyone had to stand as they tasted wine. I didn't like it because it reminded me of Costco sampling...
Things that I did enjoy, was that the winemaker is the one serving you, so he definitely knows his stuff. The number of wines that were offered for a tasting wasn't as many Hi-Time. I only had 7-8 different wines to try, but the prices of the bottles were expensive. The two most expensive ones were $99.99 and the other was $174.99. The rest were about $20-30.
I would come back if I was more of a wine expert (sometime in the far future). This place is no place for a rookie or novice. You would really need to know your wine to really have a good experience. I felt a bit rushed, only because I was the youngest one there, standing with a wine glass, and did not know much about wine.
I did a little browsing of the store. Their wine selection isn't that big but the prices seem fair, and they do have wine that you wouldn't find just anywhere. Like I said, I would have liked it a lot more if I was more experienced. -

The Tastings here are the best value that you can get for your $$, it's not over priced like other places that I've been to...
They are very generous when they pour (I love this) =)
Everyone who works here is very helpful & knowledgeable about wines so don't hesitate to ask especially if you're a newbie to wines & are shy about asking dumb questions...
The place is in a warehouse like building so you can drive around looking for the place if you've never been there, just call them & ask...
The tasting room is in a small corner of the wine store, you have to pay 1st @ the cash register for the wine tasting
(or bring your DealPerk/ Groupon) & then go to the corner of the store for the tastings..
You'll see the small tasting corner ( a group of people will be there/signs will tell you)
The wines are very reasonably priced & they have a pretty wide selection of wines 2. =)
so feel free to look around, I love browsing through their selection.. =)
If you want to stay informed of their events, add them on FB:

Don't let the name fool you. They don't require membership anymore but kept the name.
You can get hard to find wines for cheap here. I have been browsing local places to get a sweet dessert wine that I had at a wedding 4-5 years ago. I didn't want to drive all the way to LA to get it and I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for shipping.
A few months ago, I hear that the Wine Club had a lot of it. That's all I wanted and they supplied it for cheap. They made some good recommendations for other wines too. I might even try their wine tasting on weekends.
They are conveniently located right off the 55 freeway. Thumbs up for The Wine Club. -

Located in an industrial center this place is neither fancy inside or out, but don't let that deter you because inside what you'll find is an awesome selection of every type of wine imaginable, a respectable micro brew selection, very fair prices, wine accessories and gifts, wine tasting, and a friendly knowledgeable staff that does not come off as condescending or pretentious. Everyone there will make you feel welcome and appreciated whether you are a rookie, a novice, or a wine connoisseur! They also offer wine tastings and if you get on their email list then they will send you updates on new wines, specials, and events they are hosting. Check this place out some time while you're waiting for Peter's Gourmade Grill to open (like we did!) and were so happy with this gem we found!

I stopped by The Wine Club today for the first time, even though I've lived a block away for many, many years, mainly because the Barcelona On The Go truck advertised it was going to be there from 1-4PM. As I'm not a big wine drinker, but seem to enjoy more that just what's available at the average corner liquor store, it was always on my, 'One day, I'll visit this place when I have the time' list.
I sent my son to retrieve some chicken empanadas and Mexican Cokes while I toured the store. I couldn't get anywhere near the wine bar due to all of the baby boomers crowding me out, but no matter. It was "Wines of Spain" day...
All in all, the Wine Club is an unimpressive looking warehouse with a better than average wine selection than you'd find at the big chain stores. I'm going to check it out again during the week when its not so busy with the hopes of finding NY State Finger Lakes wines. -
Review from Gena U.
I came here for a tasting only, so I'll review solely based on that. I bought a Groupon-like item (Deal Perk) for two people for $5 instead of the standard $10. The tasting I went to today was titled "Summer Quenchers- Rose's/Sparklers/Champagnes". It was around 8 wines, organized well with a paper of descriptions, however it was not in the same order as the tastings - which was disconcerting. Both ladies pouring the tastings were generous with their pours, friendly, and knowledgeable enough if not volunteering their knowledge without asking.
There was some snacks set out as well, cubed cheese, crackers and red grapes. The strangest part of the tasting was that it was in a corner a bit into the store - and crowded on this Saturday around 2pm, making it a bit cramped. I would have liked to enjoy my tastings in a larger space.
The store itself was smaller than a typical wine warehouse, but they had a varied selection from what I eyed over.
A great place for a wine tasting with many makers instead of the typical several from the same vineyard tastings you may experience at a vineyard. I enjoyed it here, and would come again, even if far from LA. -

My daughter is going to a private training facility down the street, so I decided to drop in after driving by a number of times just to check it out. WOW. Great wines. Very fair pricing. And after adding myself to the email list. Constant updates on great wines and deals. Have shopped at some of the bigger wine value stores in orange county, but find the staff here more knowledgeable and more accomodating to my tastes. They really listen and help you find what you're looking for. Not like other wine "snobs" who think their selections are the only ones. Very impressed overall and will continue to shop here. Have already recommeded to friends and family.

I like this place. I don't go here that often, because it's a little out of the way for me. Closer to me are Total Wine and Bev Mo. If I'm going to go driving for wine, I'll just go straight to Hi-Times, maybe after eating at Mi Casa.
I like the selection. I've never had a foul tasting bottle of wine here, but I can't tell you if this place is cheaper or more expensive than any of the places I listed above.
It does seem to be reasonably priced, and if you've never been here, you might want to pop in, if you're already in the area visiting Roger Dunn's for some Pro V-1s. -

CANAL STREET, NY
The Wine Club is my favorite wine store near LA, do yourself a favor and sign up on their website for the weekly special which they send via email.
I have driven down to santa ana several times all the way from culver city......, yes thats right just to purchase a few bottles from these guys. :) Why would I drive such an insane distance just to buy wine....., well there are several reasons.
1. I'm a bit wine crazy.
2. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about wines both high end, and low end. To this day he's never pointed me to a wine that hasn't been good.
3. He has some incredible deals on small release hard to find wines, which sell for 50 percent more at stores like K+L.
4. Unlike some wine shops; where no one wants to give you recs that haven't been "backed by their store," the guys here will give it to you straight.
If you want something special, or just a few bottles to drink at home check out this little place. -

Okay so to start i agree it is no Hi-Times but come on who is. The staff knows there stuff and they have a great selection for all budgets. The prices are very fair and from time to time you will come across a great deal on some high end stuff. If you are into California wines go see Jeff and he will take good care of you.

The Wine Club is one of the few places I go to pick up wine and yes, i will even drive up from San Diego to the OC just to do so. They have an excellent selection and I usually walk out of there with a case or two of my favorite selctions... The wines they stock have been carefully picked by their sommelier's. The employees there are very knowledgable about the selection they carry, so if you have a favorite wine that is high in price and want a recommendation for something less expensive, they can help you out. Good for those who don't know much about wine. And if you are looking to pick up some good table wine... I was told by one of their employee's to pick up some Dancing Bull Zinfandel...for $7..what a deal! A very approachable wine w/ alot of dark fruits...probably blackberry.
The best find I had was a case of 2005 Cakebread Chardonnay for $36.99 a bottle.....BINGO!
They also have a wine tasting on certain days that comes with a small price.
Great place to pick up wine for a special meal! Can't wait to move back to the bay area, where there are two Wine Clubs! -

Costa Mesa, CA
On the southeastern edge of Santa Ana in an unassuming warehouse sit cases of some of the best wine for purchase in Orange County. The selection is diverse, the quality great and the prices fair. The employees are always willing to give recommendations and don't make you feel inferior for asking questions.
I recommend signing up for their daily emails to get a good idea of the stock they carry and the prices they charge. You won't be disappointed.Listed in: You like Wine?

I came here thanks to DealPerk and was annoyed that had never heard of it before. The tastings here are superb. We did the Italian wine tasting, which included a whole lot of wine and some very delicious food, including truffle-infused olive oil. Yum!

I love this place. Great tastings on Saturday & Sundays. Not only are thier tasting a really good value, but a great way to learn about wines since they have a different theme every week. Plus they have a wine bar area were you can help yourself. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great selection of wines at a reasonable price.

Not a fancy place by any means, but a great selection of wines in all price ranges and a super knowledgeable staff. The self serve honor system for tastings is a nice way to try new wines.

My boss has been raving about this place forever and I would say that I have recently started to appreciate wine and have been to several wine tastings. So, I've been purchasing my wine at bev mo but I wasn't able to get some of wines that I wanted. So, I checked out the wine club since it's about 5 minutes away... and sure enough they had that bottle I was looking for. The employees have a great attitude and are very knowledgable! They don't try to push you, instead they try to help you out in finding a wine suitable for you and give you some of their favorites which are at a nice price range. My boss also referred to this place as the Costco of wines because they have a wider selection of wines but at the same prices you would find at Costco. I'm going to try one of their tasting events in the near future :)
