8 reviews for The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa
I stayed here back in 2007. This was a great place. Love that's across the river and enjoy the ferry ride into town.
The hotel staff was extremely attentive and the rooms were immaculate. Lets not forget those Westin Heavenly beds. I highly recommend staying here, being on the other side of the river is a great retreat from main street Savanna.
Beautiful hotel on the river. The ferry takes you across the river to downtown/ historic Savannah. The ferry runs on an exact schedule. The grounds are beautifully maintained. You can sit by the pool and there's a firepit to keep you warm if you need. The pool is open until 11 pm. There's complimentary lemonade near the front desk... delicious on a warm day!
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds are heavenly! Their restaurant, Aqua Star, is excellent for dinner and especially for brunch. There is a resort fee that's added onto the daily rate. There's wireless internet throughout the hotel.
I would highly recommend the Westin Savannah.
I always love staying at Westin Resorts and this one is hands down a favorite.
Check in was seamless and the customer service was stellar. I had a room overlooking the Savannah River which was a big plus. The bedding and pillows were comfy, fluffy, down filled (a must for Miss Mira) and the room was spot on clean.
The hotel is directly next to the convention center which is super convenient as I had to work a booth there all week. Central Savannah is a ferry ride away...not at all inconvenient and was actually quite fun, especially at night after a few pops.
If you are the type to work out while on the road, the gym is a little trek down the road located at the golf course. There is also a spa for those who need a little pampering.
The hotel bar was a lot of fun and has a decent wine selection.
Loved my stay here and did not want to return to Cali.

Beautiful Hotel, Friendly and helpful staff. Bed was a bit soft for my taste, but the room was clean and tastefully designed. My only complaint was they could use a larger staff for check in. We had to wait for about 25 minutes to get checked in. We were a bit early. Check in is at 3:00. We were there at 1:00 and our room was not ready; however, they took our cell phone number and called when our room was ready. The Valet kept our bags for us so we could go see the sites. The hotel is on the oposite side of the river from historic Savannah, but they do have a water taxi that runs every 20 minutes. So if you want to BE IN historic Savannah, I would look around a bit more. The water taxi does not run 24 hours a day, and the taxi ride back to the hotel if you miss the last water taxi (1 AM) is EXPENSIVE!!!
Nice hotel and property, convenient to old Savannah, played the golf course, it was in great shape. a little expensive though, but found a few others to play in town as well on Forelinksters, here's link: http://forelinksters.c...
Just like the star ratings say, this is as good as it gets. Pure Luxury. When I'm in Savannah, this is where I choose to stay. Ferry runs every ten minutes crossing the river to River Street. Outdoor sauna, pool, under a moon lit night with a bottle of champagne. Take the river ferry to river street and hoist some oysters or stop by The Lady & Sons for Sunday dinner buffet.
On the outside, the Westin is a majestic resort, ominously looking toward Savannah's famous River Street on the other side of the water, just a short water taxi ride away from the city. The grounds are sprawling and well kept, the pool sparkling blue and there's even the scent of perfume wafting through the grand lobby entrance (albeit piped in behind some lush foliage).
But take the elevator up a couple floors, and one is instantly transported to a run-of-the-mill hotel you'd find in any urban neighborhood. The hallways are not well kept. Many times, I had to step over dirty dishes and piles of soiled linens to make my way back to my room.
The housekeeping schedule seems a bit sporadic, too, one day knocking on my door at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. the following day and then not at all the next day. Which probably explains the forks and empty glasses in the hallways. Gross. Housekeeping is just not around as frequently as they should be in such a grandiose establishment.
And would it kill them to provide some sort of complimentary continental breakfast? Sure, the single-serve Starbucks coffee in the rooms is nice, but how about a muffin or a piece of fruit? Hello, is this thing on?
We did luck out with a corner room, which gave us a great view of Savannah and the sun setting behind the bridge. And we were there for a conference, so we got a good rate, but still. I expected a little more given the exterior.

We decided to stay at the Westin for one reason, the view, so I went all out and went with the 16th floor balcony river/city view. The good news, the view was everything I was hoping for. We could see the entire downtown area, and the river bridge...it was awesome, especially at night. Outside of the view, the room was average, with one of the most comfortable beds on the planet, but the bathroom left something to be desired. The place had a cozy bar, which was a good place to grab a brew before getting a $10 taxi across the bridge to the real fun. There is one restaurant on premises, but if you spend time eating in your hotel, while in Savannah, you have problems. One downer was the $20 resort fee, which I think gave me a bottle of water a day......it was good water though. Maybe if I was a golfer I would have really enjoyed it, as the course looks beautiful.
