This is one of only a few full-service hotels in Pasadena.
Hotel lobby and room is quite trendy and comfortable.
Mgt and service is outstanding and fitness ctr is one of the best that I have found in a standard hotel.
Hotel is close to stores and restaurants on Colorado Ave.
Great business hotel.

I love Westins. I just didn't love this Westin. As a starwood preferred guest, I had expected far better service than what we got here.
We were staying here to attend a wedding and so I requested early check in which was fine, we got it, but they had told me it would be on a lower floor -- which was fine, I didn't care about that. The lovely man (I believe he was Indonesian) who took our car at the valet was also incredibly nice.... great start right? Well..... not exactly!
When I checked in though, I had the most unpleasant experience with the woman who checked me in. OK, so I didn't know how their shuttle service worked so I asked lots of questions. She wasn't able to explain clearly to me exactly how it worked and after a while, I just stopped asking because at one point she rudely said "MA"AM! I have NO idea where your wedding is so I can't tell you where the shuttle will stop, check over there" as she pointed to the concierge.
When we got to our room, I decided to call to see if someone else could help me, and when I did, the operator didn't even have to put me through to anyone. She was able to explain it to me very clearly and POLITELY in less than 2 minutes. I mean how difficult was that?
After a little bit of resting, I asked the young man to go take a shower. When he went to take a shower he had a hard time getting the shower to work properly. Initially, I thought it was a 9 yr old's inability to figure it out, so I went to help, but then, something was obviously wrong!! I called and they sent a technician up within 15 mins of calling. The man was again very nice, chatty and friendly. He got our shower working shortly after.
We used the complimentary shuttle service the hotel provided. It is actually a wonderful service and I recommend anyone staying here to take full advantage of it. It's almost like your own personal service. On our way to the wedding we had some other people going to the same wedding in the car with us. On the way back, it was some other guests we didn't know returning from their dinner in downtown Pasadena. All in all, the service is efficient and one of the perks of staying at this Westin,
The rest of our stay was pretty normal. We ordered some room service which was brought promptly. It wasn't until we were leaving that the problem arose again. I went to the valet to get my car. I told the young man there that the parking charge had already been taken care of. He had no expression on his face, punched something into the computer, scanned my parking ticket and then said "no you have to pay".
WTH???????? I had just told him that it had been taken care of. So again I informed him that it had been taken care of in the hotel bill. He didn't say anything and again said "no you have to pay". I went through my handbag and fished out my final itemized invoice and showed it to him. When he looked at it, he didn't even say a thing. He just took a slip of paper, put it onto a clip board and thrusted it towards me and said "sign this".
If I were staying at a Best Western, or Motel 6, I don't think I would even batter an eyelid if someone had a less than ideal sense of customer service. However, this is a Westin! I had expected a lot more from them than the rude, non-apologetic attitude I'd received. They're getting 2 stars purely because the other staff members were exemplary of what a Starwood hotel is supposed to be and I just couldn't give them the one star even though it left a bad taste in my mouth. So the 2 star "meh I've experienced better" is exactly how I felt regarding this property!
**I complained to Starwood AND the hotel and they were good enough to follow up**

Entrance was nice, crisp and neat. Bellboy, front lobby staff were friendly and professional.
My only complaint would be that the bathroom sink was a bit spotty? Can't describe any more than that, really. Either the maid spilled a whole lot of chemicals on sink top and didn't clean it up...or yeah.
Well ok, my other complaint is that one of the beds didn't look "fresh" like they normally do when you enter a hotel room.
Maybe I'm being a bit rough because I just had a mini vacation at another hotel, which topped The Westin Pasadena by 5 more stars, so the expectations were there..being the Westin and all. Seems like a lot of these chains have gone down a bit. Oh yeah, the little itty bitty chair was dirty...looked like it could use some steam cleaning or something. But yeah, I think next time I'll go out of my way to stay at Anaheim Marriott again (always pleasant there).
Note: Valet at $13 per day is cheaper than parking yourself at $8 per day, especially if you plan on using your car often. If you're planning on just parking your car, and walking through Pasadena, then parking in garage is a better deal...otherwise do valet..
Edit to add: One great perk about this hotel compared to the rest down the block is that it is pet friendly. Westin does not charge an extra cleaning pet deposit but will only charge your card if the pet does any obvious and visible damage to the room. :)
This is my new home away from home. I was in Pasadena for business and stayed at the Westin for two nights. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were nicely designed and were perfect for plugging in the ole laptop. Valet parking was $13 a day but had all day/night in and out privileges, which worked out great for me because I was back and forth from my hotel room so much. Everyone was very nice and made my stay very enjoyable. Great hotel!
"you are always doing this to me. i hate you...i hate you. you always do this sh*t to me"
12:30am - first time, i was intrigued.
i thought i was dreaming, but the cries continued even when i opened my eyes. i looked out the windows (which by the way had a great view of the city hall), but not a single moving thing in sight. i went back to my bed and tried to catch some sleep. maybe i was dreaming about dreaming...
"you f*cking cheated on me. you f*cking cheated on me again...always...you do this...you are a cheater"
12:54am - second time, i was irritated.
i heard the same voice again through the wall against my bed. i called the front desk to complain since i really needed to rest for the big day.
"don't do this...stop it!!!"
"shut up. shut the f*ck up"
1:07am - third time, i was scared.
along with this, i heard some heavy sounds. now this had become a full blown argument, possibly involving violence. i called the front desk again and asked if he ever sent a security up (which they promised last time). he said another one is on his way...
"omg...omg..."
1:12am - i stopped counting.
i didn't even try to analyze this situation. i dialed the front desk and said "look, i am having the biggest day of my life today. do you want to be the first one to be responsible for ruining it?" "no, ma'am. i will send another one right up", he said apologetically, yet somewhat irritated at my blunt b*tchiness.
i really couldn't fall asleep after this until about 2 in the morning. this is how i started my wedding day, all groggy and tired...
the westin pasadena is actually pretty. the lobby is elegant without being snooty, the rooms are clean, simple and adequate, most of the staff are friendly and courteous, the location is perfect, close enough to all the attractions yet far enough from the hustle and bustles, so all in all, this hotel is not a bad choice for visitors and wedding parties.
we stayed the night before and the night of our wedding for a special rate for blocking minimum 10 rooms. they allowed early check-ins and late check-outs and even offered to upgrade our room which we declined because of the location. the sales manager left us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne which we enjoyed the morning after our wedding since they got delivered to my sister's room (nonetheless, i appreciated the gesture). the best was that this was a dog friendly hotel, and there were so many friggin' cute dogs on lv leashes.
however, not everything was perfect. our room had plumbing problems, no complimentary fridge ($10 charge on top of $12 internet and $13 valet parking fees???), rude valet attendants, under construction pool, and not to mention that ridiculously thin walls...somethings i didn't expect from a westin.
i still enjoyed my stay here. what remains to be a mystery is why in the world would you check in to a nice hotel like this if you know he's always "f*cking cheating" on you? he's not even worth for motel 6!!!
p.s. - if you must know, they have 2 ply toilet papers. i was elated :)

I thought the Westin deserved 3.5 stars, but I'm feeling generous, so I'll give it a 4. =P
My journey begins with an unfortunate family emergency so we were headed down to LA and needed a room around mid-night on Friday. We had our dog with us, so it was that much harder to find a room somewhere that accepted pets. We wanted to stay near Montebello, but couldn't find decent accommodations near that area that accepted pets, so after a hour of searching online (via blackjack, wish I had my iPhone! and better ATT service!) I finally found the Westin in Pasadena that had a reasonable rate and had rooms available!
The Westin was a bit of a drive from Montebello, where we wished to have stayed due to family, but decided that we couldnt be too picky. After calling several other hotels we found that the Westin was the only place that did not charge a fee of $50-75 for your pet in addition to the pet deposit, so that's what sold me to book the room here.
Upon check in, we were promptly greeted and had a room on the 9th floor. The rooms were nicely decorated, modern and big. The bathroom was nice and overall, we were satisfied. Given that the hotel accepts pets, I was a little weary of the large stain on the carpet...I didnt know what kind of 'stain' that was and was hoping it wasn't something from a previous pet! Other than the large stain on the carpet....I was pleased......
The bathroom had 2 shower heads which was nice, and around a 2am check in, I was in need of a shower! My only complaint was that when I looked up above the shower head, the air vent was absolutely disgusting, it was full of dirt and it seemed the hotel hadn't cleaned out the vents in years! yuck! But enough of the 2 flaws (carpet and the bathroom vent)....everything else was right on. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were acceptable, although they did not supply extra blankets or pillows in the room which was a bummer. The rooms are quiet so you dont hear your neighbors or the hall noise. One thing I noticed...they dont have LCD TVs, but rather the older tube TV's...which is kind of surprising in a nice hotel that looks fairly new.
The next morning my hubby went to the on-site gym- he said it was one of the best gyms he's seen in a hotel, they had the same equipment his gym had, not the cheap equipment other hotel gyms tend to have, so that was a plus...and he enjoyed the hot tub. (The pool was closed for renovations)
We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant...no one was there, which seemed a little odd on a Saturday morning, but that was fine with us...we were seated promptly outside. Before we even sat down, our waiter asked us if we wanted OJ and coffee, which I said yes to both....both of which cost my hubby and I $10 for coffee and $10 for OJ, $20 right off the bat, before we even ordered food! geez! Breakfast we shared a bowl of fruit...he had the steel cut oatmeal and I had the green tea berry smoothie....total breakfast bill, including tip..over $60! The food wasn't spectacular....so I don't recommend the restaurant for breakfast, too expensive!
Would we stay here again, sure, if we're in the area and have our dog with us....we would. Normally, we wouldnt have thought of Pasadena as a destination, but it seemed like a cute little city and we would come back to visit....
We had an early appointment on Monday morning in Pasadena and decided to stay at the Westin so we didn't have to do the drive.
We had a quick check in and asked for an upgrade (we are SPG Platinum) but they only had an Executive Room on the 12th floor which was just a corner room on the top floor that had a desk (see photos).
The pool was small but nice http://www.yelp.com/bi...
and apparently they were doing registration for American Idol on Sunday and Monday at the Rose Bowl so there were a few people there that were auditioning for it.
The hotel is located just a couple blocks from the Paseo so there are a lot of restaurants and shops withing walking distance.
They have a courtesy shuttle that will take you around town if it is available you just need to tip.
Valet is $12 per night with in and out privileges. Self parking is $8 with no in and out privileges.
SPG Category 4

I stayed here for one Thursday night, the location is within walking distance from it's water fountain to steps to California Pizza Kitchen, then a couple blocks away from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, and the indoor/outdoor mall.
The self-parking is inside a indoor parking lot used for other local businesses which is $8 without in/out privileges per day, as opposed to valet is $12 per day with in/out privileges.
When I checked in, the person upgraded me without me asking I guess because I'm a SPG member (cost 10K SPG points a night). Will definitely consider staying here again in the future.
i didn't notice in my earlier stay but they have excellent view of city hall dome from the swimming pool. a perfect place to sit at night and enjoy your favorite beverage. i am particularly very inspired by the landscape and fountains that lead from Westin side door to city hall. an excellent walk

This is a beautiful hotel. My hubby and I and our bridal entourage stood here the night of our wedding...although it was drive from the reception hall, it was totally worth it. I actually had no clue where the hell we were staying that night because my sister (M.O.H.) kept telling me not to book a room. So...myself and all the girlies got ready in her room and then after the wedding she gave us a key to our hotel room. We got some kind of suite...which was sweet. When we walked into our room it was so clean and smelled good. There was nice ice cold champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us which I thought was my sisters doing but nope...it was the hotels doing. On our bed we had some honeymoon coupons (two different packs!), a magic 8 ball honeymoon thing which was cool, balloons and other cute things...now that was my sister's doing! There was a mini fridge in our room, microwave and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was very nice and the staff was great. They helped everyone who stayed there for our wedding, TY TY TY!!! Because us newlyweds had a honeymoon suite...we got to check out later. Thank God!!!!

This hotel looks luxurious and extra posh from the outside valet area to the lobby, but I think that's where it ends. The front desk reps weren't very welcoming nor friendly so minus 1 star.
My whole gripe about this hotel is the parking! Goodness gracious...seriously!?! Hotel guests park in the same parking garage as the customers of the Las Fuentes Plaza. It's $1.25 for every 15 minutes. $12 - $15 max daily, and $7 for overnight guests. We came to check in and drop off our stuff before heading out. We stayed for 45 minutes and had to pay $3.75 for parking to get out. We came back in to get ready in our room for the night, we came out and had to pay the maximum $12. This didn't include the $7 overnight parking fee!! I just found the whole parking situation ridiculous! In 1 day, we paid almost $23 just to park our car and come in and out of the stupid parking garage! Ughhh!!
The beds were not THAT heavenly compared to my bed at home! The walls are thin and the room is not that large! It's actually pretty small in size!
Only good thing about this stay is that I only paid $69/night on priceline!

I was at this hotel on a business trip and stayed here one night. This hotel was pretty good. I thought the location was excellent, walking distance to the main strip of stuff in Pasadena. The check in process was good and efficient, and they accommodated my request for another room (just wanted to change from a king to 2 doubles since my cousin was coming in from LA for the evening to see me). The bed was quite comfortable, as was the room temperature. A few meh things to note:
-Why is internet like $12? I'm a Starwood Gold member, which means I have spent enough $ in hotels - pretty insane that it's not free, REALLY insane that it's so much money!
-The bartender wasn't all that friendly.
-Food was expensive and just OK (but to be expected of all hotels really)
-Literally no one to be found when I got up and went for a run at 6am. A bit unnerving.
I recently got married in the area, and the Westin was totally a lifesaver. We stayed in the Presidential suite, which also doubled as the staging area for my bridal party. We also had our morning after brunch at their restaurant, taking over the entire outdoor patio area.
The Westin is beautiful. Not too overly lavish, but their front lobby with the unusual glass chandeliers is indeed a sight. Their suite was impeccable with their "heavenly" bed sets. The best part was that they totally welcomed my puppy Vernon, and even brought up his own "heavenly" dog bed and bowl (though he preferred sleeping on the comforter with us). The location is also convenient, near many churches (if you are looking for wedding housing), restaurants (CPK is literally across the courtyard), and premiere shopping areas (the hotel even offers shuttle service to Paseo Colorado and Old Town. I LOVE these areas...).
Our brunch was also unique - I loved the outdoor patio with the view into the courtyard. The food was OK, typical brunch fair, nothing spectacular. My only suggestion, would be that they clean up the patio a little bit better... seemed too much like a backyard, with leaves and droppings everywhere...
I would highly suggest the Westin. It is generally clean, beautiful, and very dog friendly.
Stayed here while we were down in southern Cali. The hotel itself is really nice. The bed has white linens, white covers, white pillow cases, and everything else on the bed was just white. It had a very clean feeling to it so it felt really comfortable feeling to it. The bed was so soft and comfy, even with a bad hangover I pretty much knocked out on it. The bathroom we had didn't have a lock so it was kind of weird since 4 guys and 2 girls were in the room.
The morning after I still had the hangover so what else cures it for me? Pepsi! That's when I knew that the Westin only have soda machines on even number floors. We were on level 5 so hungover me had to take the elevator to level 6 only to find out that the machine ran out of soda so I had to go back to the main lobby to get a damn pepsi (-1star). Other than that our stay was very pleasent here.

This is a luxury hotel and as such is reasonablly priced.
The location is quite specatacular - next to the capitol and surrounding gardens and fountains - and quite conveniently located for somethings such as the large mall and the high-street.
One of my pet peeves is the surcharge for internet access - what is it $10 a day? For $80 I could buy a wireless access point that would serve a whole floor - how can they justify that price - how can they just not include it in the cost of the room? Wireless access is available for free in the lobby and the bar, which was fine up to a point, but, well... see below.
One of my other pets is my dog (ha!) - and kudos to the Westin for being pooch friendly... up to a point. Unfortunately, it would seem that the friendlness does not extend to the bar. Grrr! to that. Minus one star at least. If your doggie wants to use the internet youare forced to cough up the wireless surcharge!

Oooh la la! I've always liked sleeping on the Westin Heavenly Beds... and this trip was no exception! The hotel was purdy with clean lines and modern furniture. I hated that their parking was really hard to find and you had to turn a corner. Overnight parking was 7 dollars for hotel guests, not bad since I'm used to seeing at least 30 dollars a night to 55 for San Francisco.
The only complaint I had for this place was that the drain for the tub took forever and a day to drain. At the end of my shower I was standing in ankle deep of icky used post shower water. YECHE!! I stepped out and had to wash my feet in the sink so I'd feel clean...
The room was big enough to fit a king bed in there with a nifty little side bar area but small enough that the green earplugs managed to end up the couchbench that lined the window area. Also, I liked the shutters for the windows... vs heavy curtains that probably get drycleaned once every decade.
Thank you Priceline.... only 90 bucks a night!!!

This hotel has great potential but its weakest link is the cleaning crew. The rooms are not very clean - grease marks on the table, coffee maker with old water in it, dust all over. On the way to the pool, we came across 3 cleaning ladies sitting in the hallway conversing loudly. They barely tucked their legs in for us to pass by. We also had to request a different room, because we were right next to the linen storage and wanted to get away from the uncontrolled banging and loud talking. It was shocking to be greeted every day with such lack of professionalism.

This is a solid offering from the Starwood chain. Really it's 3 1/2 stars/
The Heavenly Bed and Heavenly shower are reasons enough to stay there. Throw in a AAA discount and the robe and you've got a winner.
Very appreciated is the Westin's commitment to clean air. The hotel almost has no smell at all. And there's no aroma of bfast or smoking coming from other rooms.
How much do I love Westin? I love you because I've escaped many DUI nights and ended up passing out in your warm "heavenly bed" hands.
Two weekends ago, it was one of my gfs 30th at Vertical and NO ONE bought her drinks!!! WTF? I consider myself the superman of dull parties. I turned on my pharmaceutical charms and started hazing everyone (especially bday girl) with wine. Results? I ended up 2nd most wasted..thankfully 1st was the bday girl.
So I"m hanging out with my friend and his new hot babe of the week. She insist on a 3some at the hotel room but there's something about doing that with a guy friend (even though she's smoking) didn't seem too enticing.
Thank god they have heavenly THICK pillows as well. They were bumping it next to me all night! yuck...
they always have a room for me at 3am for $169. 5 stars!

I guess I wouldn't have a problem finding a hotel near the Colorado Blvd close to ol' town Pasadena if I'm in a tight fix.
With many of state guests about to arrive for the wedding of my close friend, we needed to find a comfortable posh hotel for the stay near the wedding reception.
The hotel is very luxe. When you enter the lobby, right in front there's a very elegant waiting area with the bar next to it. There's two big flat screen tv showing the NCAA tournament games while you sit at the comfy sofa chairs. If you don't want to watch the game, you can sit elsewhere and enjoy the free wifi.
The wedding party took up several suites on the 12th floor on the very top. Clean beautiful room with a nice view overlooking the parking lot and other unfinished buildings next door. Nice!
The room service is OK, but I probably wouldn't suggest getting your amenities here at the convenient store at the lobby. Probably suggesting go to your local CV pharmacy for a much cheaper price.
The courtyard is very nice with several fountains next to the hotel. It gave us an opportunities to shoot several wedding photos for the wedding album. Next door to the courtyard is the California Pizza Kitchen and McCormick & Schmick.
It is a very posh hotel that was stayed at the very last minute for a wedding. There is a valet parking for a car for each room. If you happened to be in a need for a visit, there's is a parking fee at the garage for that visit.

My cousin just got married there this past weekend. A great hotel overall. The rooms are pretty nice. Big comfy, king sized beds and the dual head shower was great. A total waste of water but very nice nonetheless! Not a 5 star but a solid 4 for sure.

ROOM/AMENITIES:
Heavenly bed indeed. Dual shower heads add to the heavenly promise of the Westin Hotel. Minimally decorated with lots of neutral colors and sharp lines perfect for those of us who do not enjoy the sensory overload of ostentatiously decorated rooms.
FOOD and SERVICE:
The only thing worthy of purgatory penance is the room service food. Greasy burger on foccacia was tasteless and oily as was the crisp pesto chicken panini. The only saving grace was the gracious waiter Raul who was neither tasteless nor oily when he offered to turn down my bed and serve my food on my lap as I watched TV. Had it been any other person, the offer would have sounded lecherous.
LOCATION:
Centrally located near happening Colorado Street, the hotel is a short walk away from shopping, dining, spas--perfect getaway for work or leisure.

Great location, clean, nice and worth the Westin price.
We had our wedding group at this hotel and it was so worth it. The suites are killer. One overlooks the mountains and the other old town Pasadena. The bar in the lobby is also very nice. Stiff drinks, great bartenders.
My stay at the Westin was beyond pleasant. I've never had such a fancy room all to myself, it was fabulous to have all that space! To add, I am sooo not used to being serviced so well!
Everyone calls you Ms. Cruz and smiles like you're there for vacation. It was nice to stay at such a snazzy place after long days of training for work. Like a retreat away from home it was sort of an oasis. A cleans itself room, Starbucks individual coffee brewer, plush bed and fluffy pillows, dual shower heads that are called, "Westin Heavenly Shower" and that it was!
I hear the gym facility room was nice (I wasn't about to get all hot and bothered running on a treadmill when it was well over 90 degrees everyday!) The pool is found on the fourth floor balcony and has a lovely view of Historic Old Town.
The location of this place is perfect for shopping and diverse eats. Just a couple of blocks from the new mall and excellent eats down the way.

dependable, predictable, comfortable, but very understated and a little better than your own home.
oh westin, you're like the boy that my mom wants me to marry, but unfortunately the standard or the viceroy have more character so i ignore their flaws for the thrills of the stay.
but when i do rebound back to you, you know how to make me feel oh so good. a perfectly comfy bed, nice shower with nice finishes like a ledge for my toiletries, a great menu that thinks about my waistline just as much as my tastebuds.

AAA rate and SPG rate were similar at approximately $200 per night. Beds were nice. The rooms need to freshened up - scratches and scuffs all over the furniture and walls. Nice housekeeping and front desk staff.
Parking is $10 per night. Internet access is $12 per day.
I want to say the initial impression is of a nice, modern hotel. On closer inspection though, it's not very clean.
My first day here was horrible.
When I entered the room, it reeked of perfume, I went to the bathroom and saw that the toilet was dirty (and when the maid looked at it she insisted that it was water stains and I had to take a plastic bag and clean the stains off before she would believe me), I then asked to speak to the manager and was placed on hold before anyone would transfer me.
Thank goodness for the front desk manager (Hank). He is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars rather than 1. Hank was very nice and helpful. Other than him, I don't know why anyone would choose to stay at the Westin.
5 stars for being a Westin. What can you say about those geat Heavenly beds?!
1 star for being a pain in the you-know-what when it came to booking a block. Yes, we chose it as one of our wedding hotels, and oh my gosh, was it a nightmare to coordinate...
Anyway, I guess that averages out to a 3 star.
Moral of the story, stay there, but don't book a block there.
Christmas 2005 was filled with many ups and downs. A huge "up" was staying at The Westin Pasadena.
I was so pleasantly surprised to discover that they are a pet-friendly hotel. As soon as we walked in the lobby, our little Webster was welcomed with open arms. The staff greeted him enthusiastically and even offered to bring a dog bed up to our room. We took them up on the offer, even though we knew Webster would spend the majority of his time sleeping in the bed with us. Unfortunately, Webster has since passed after 14 full years of life. Our stay with him at The Westin Pasadena was a highlight of his older years. He walked around the joint like he owned it. I miss him more than I can explain.
A big "down" of that Christmas was the insane stomach flu that knocked me on my ass for 4 days. Nausea and vomiting were not the gifts I had hoped for. Thankfully, the bathroom at The Westin was immaculate and the cool tile floor did me justice when I was praying to the porcelain gods hour after hour. Honestly....it was a great place to have the flu. Right down to the "Heavenly Bed" that definitely lives up to its name.
This is a great hotel that won me over right away. I highly recommend it!
Dog Friendly :)
Pro: of course took care of our doggie - brought us a Westin Dog Bed, Great bar area, nice people.
Con: A little far from where the Colorado Street area is, Food at hotel is pricey.
We were at the Westin over the weekend and they everything they could to make us feel comfortable and our doggie as well. Very friendly staff and the Heavenly Beds aren't bad either. The best part for me is having my dog there was a couple blocks up there was a park I could take him to - and literally outside there was a whole grass area that can be used to take the doggies out - the hotel even takes care giving you doggie bags too.
Pasadena overall is a very doggie friendly city and we had a good time there.
It seems like we're all in consensus here. How lovely when we all get along so swimmingly.
Even so, I'll add my two cents: Yes, the beds are great, the staff is wonderful, the location is conveniently close-ish to Old Town, and room costs are a very reasonable value. But it always bugs me when nice hotels ream you on the odds and ends (local/toll-free calls, Internet access fees, etc.). I know that's standard in the hotel biz, and it's not like I made any calls from the room phone or used their computers, but still... I object. For a place that otherwise has the hospitality thing down perfectly, it just seems so petty to charge $5 for a little bottle of water. And the pool is tiny and has no shade or umbrellas. That said, this is a very comfy hotel with top-notch service. I'd happily stay here again (but I'll bring my own water next time).
Minus one star for poor signage leading to their parking lot. Other than that, this hotel is not bad. The front desk people were very nice and the room was very comfortable. The pool area is nice with canopies, but a bit small compared to their other locations.

Let me start by saying I've never been disappointed by any of my stays in the Starwood brand of hotels. This is no exception. Avoid the lounge. Two drinks and you could buy yourself half a liquor cabinet. And the fact that it is not attached to The Library is kind of odd. The entire hotel staff was great though; very attentive. And then of course, there's the view of the Pasadena courthouse and oh, yes, the truly unparalleled Heavenly Bed -- best nights sleep my entire week in SoCal. But for the price this would have been 4 stars but they didn't do anything that warranted even mild amazement.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! Work offered a free room so we decided to spend a night there. We had no regrets whatsoever. The rooms were newly renovated. It had new beds, new paint, new carpet, new tv sets, new tables, etc. The bed was soooo comfortable too. I could sleep there forever. They also offered free robes which were a little itchy but I didn't mind it at all.
This was once the Doubletree Hotel in Pasadena, and a damn good one. I actually considered it the best Doubletree in their network. It hasn't changed much since. There are no more cookies though. The rooms are nice and big.

A very nice hotel that has been owned by several different companies over the years. Famous for their fantastic (if not overpriced) Sunday brunch, the rooms are average but the service and facilities are usually great.

Out of all the hotels in the vicinity, Westin was able to get me a very good rate b/c of the corporate discount, and the experience has been top notch. Pool is a bit small, but the gym is well equipped with new machines and the staff is extremeley friendly. For the price i got (about $160 a night), it's definitely a deal since the "motel 6" equivalent here was asking for $100. I'll definitely be back again at this rate.

Small, compacted, comfortable, cozy hotel for a decent price considering it's a Westin! Definitely are nicer Westins, but i quit the carping business also you pay for what you get. Plus, it's close to Old Town Pasadena so kudos to the location + 1 star.
