This hotel is way nice!
I paid a little bit more during a special event but it was very much worth it.
I love the fact that the pool is on the 3rd floor
DISCLOSURE: I made money modelling for the Westin brand's launch of "heavenly bed, who is he sleeping with campaign"
The hotel is a nice feng shui to it. I am asian and automatically an expert in all things asio right?! Seriously, the energy of the place is nice. The second floor 5 star restaurant is great. Guys like Mark Cuban pay to eat there even though he is comped at other places -

My hubby and I decided very last minute yesterday that we wanted to make it a night out downtown to visit Super Bowl Village and take in 14 West for our upcoming anniversary. Scored the Westin for $80 on hotwire same day. Very good deal considering this is where the NFL is headquartered for the 10 days of Super Bowl. Fun! It was all decked out with NFL decor, photos and memorabilia. The staff was well-prepared, polite and welcoming. The valets are a bit backed up and I can see them running out of space, but overall, a good experience.
Our room has been noticeably updated. They cannot change the size unfortunately but the flat screens are obviously new and they have purchased nice modern IKEA lamps to warm up the room.
This definitely worth the $80 and we had a nice view of downtown, walking distance to the Village and Convention Center, Monument Circle and the mall. Overall, a great location for all the events and we were very happy with our room and the staff. I would not spend $250 or anything b/c there are MUCH nicer hotels overall but for $80 - definitely a great option.
There are still some last minute deals to be had; although I'm sure as the big game approaches, it may be a bit harder to get a Hotwire deal like that!
Either way, I think it's noticeable that the Westin has made significant improvements recently which I'm always happy to see - especially with the likes of JW Marriott and Conrad less than a block in either direction! It's about time they stepped up their game. I'd stay here again for that price for sure.1 Previous Review: Show all »

One night stay on the club level.
Check-in: Decent staff. Nothing too alarming or too pleasant that's worth mentioning.
Room: I had a corner room. It was smaller than expected. Nothing special- you still have to pay for internet even on the club level. The view isn't anything spectacular and the room didn't have any special amenities.
Club lounge in the evening: There were a few cans of soda in the refrigerator, coffee, tea, and water. I had gotten to the lounge at around 8 PM and the food they had out was almost gone. I think it was chips and spinach dip. It was very clean and well-kept. I wish it had some beer or wine in there...
Club lounge in the morning: Breakfast was delightful and the male staff member in charge of the lounge was very friendly and nice. He is probably the reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3. I was expcecting some muffins and cereal.. I was surprised when I saw hot breakfast with waffles, eggs, bacon and the works. -

The girlfriend and I were in town for a family function and the Colts game. We stayed at the Westin Indianapolis based on its prime location and walking distance to Lucas Oil Stadium. Having stayed at other Westin properties, I had reasonable expectations for our stay. Check-in was a breeze. The front desk staff was friendly and very welcoming. The Westin Indianapolis has some nice features, a decent fitness center, a small pool and Jacuzzi, a Shula's Steakhouse, Starbucks, and best of all, walking distance to Lucas Oil Stadium all under cover which was a real plus since it was a very rainy Sunday before the Colts-Steelers game.
However, all is not rosy with the Westin Indianapolis as it's showing a lot of wear and tear. The hallway on our floor was poorly lit and dingy looking with worn, stained carpeting, and painted walls with lots of scuffmarks. Our room, a standard room, had a comfortable bed but the comforter had a terrible, moldy odor, which thankfully was changed out by housekeeping. The bathroom was cramped and poorly lit. The shower had an over designed two head system which was pretty ineffective but for wasting water. In the end, the Westin Indianapolis is certainly not a "no-tell motel" with rooms by the hour. It just needs a refresh. Call it a 2.25-star stay, rounded down to 2-stars. -
Review from Trena R.
Insanely busy, yet everyone was so nice and welcoming. The manager was genuinely kind and chatty as we waited in line for check-in; the valets were on top of things and efficient. And yes, the beds were every bit as great as I had heard.
The only down side was the price of wifi. Good thing I had a mifi with me and saved that cost. Otherwise, a really great experience! -

Didn't pay attention to the fact that this was a category 3 property even though it has the Westin name. With SPG gold status, was upgraded to a suite but my stay was still disappointing.
First off, the towels don't appear "fresh". They're in major need of some bleach and seem really dingy. The property needs some major upgrades. There was rust on the bathroom door frame, the shower heads had some major calcium / rust deposits. During my stay, they were undergoing renovations in the lobby but there was never any indication of is until I arrived. The elevators were severely backed up and had to wait 10 mins to go up to the room after the conference.
Property is probably prepping for the superbowl.
Limited food options, the gym is upgraded with new equipment but still a small facility. -
Review from Krista R.
Way too spendy, in my opinion, but the Heavenly beds really are quite fab. It was just firm enough, warm enough and I didn't feel any little mites jumping around at night.
The place was clean, though the bathroom (especially the toilet) could've used another shake down with some Lysol wipes, furr shurr.
The service, though, was great. Really sweet front-desk peeps and me being the high-maintenance queen that I am, I was always asking for them to send up this, that or the other, and they were always on top of it.
The best part was, on Saturday I had a big meeting at the track and when I walked downstairs--all dressed up--to order a taxi, a sleek, black, Lincoln arrived. I was psyched! I took one look at it and knew it was going to cost me more than a regular black-and-yellow but didn't care. I was in high heels and this meeting was important!
I felt like Madonna. And it was awesome. -

So this is a Westin thus the standards are high. For the most part it upholds the standards of a 5 star hotel. amenities are top notch. Decor is modern and very well designed. It has great restaurants although extremely pricey and all other amenities are superb. The rooms are wonderful although the ceilings could be an inch higher I felt a bit claustrophobic vertically. The beds are extremely comfortable.
So this is a Westin and as that, everything is extremely expensive, parking expensive, internet not free etc... But this is expected. What is not expected however, is the rude staff for the price you are paying. The front desk crew is dismissive at best lacking the fundamental social skills but that is not even the problem its the bell hop and valet dudes outside. As soon as they understood that we are not paying for parking all bet were off and they turned a cold shoulder to us. My sister actually had to tell one of the to load the trunk with our luggage. This is simply unacceptable behavior for a Westin. The young kid helping us out in the evening was nice though, although he was confused why we came from California to such a dump as Indianapolis.
If you are to charge as much as Westin does, make sure you make me feel like I'm getting my moneys worth. -

Not a bad hotel, great downtown location, but the brown-speckled probable fecal matter on the toilet when I checked in was kind of a turn off. Plus, wi-fi isn't free. Come on now!

I'm going to go with a 3 star on this one, I'm a little torn on it because the location, a Starbucks in the lobby and Shula's on site make this Westin a nice place to stay.
Questionable: Front desk service, on two different stays I could have had better service. -

I've stayed at this Westin a few of times. It definitely does not seem as big as it is and the convention people aren't as noticeable as you would think they would be. It might help that the hotel lobby is in one area and the meeting/convention space is at the end of the building.
Our rooms have always been good quality with the Westin Heavenly beds. The location is also great as most of downtown is walkable from the hotel. -

Stayed here about 3 weeks a month for the past year. Honestly, the Westin is the best lodging deal going on in Indy. This coming from someone who tried Homewood Suites, the Sheraton and random other places before wising up to the Westin. On a per diem, this is the way to go. Yes I am sure the Conrad is nice but my company wasn't about to spring for such luxury on their dime. The Westin has the best staff (Travis and Soraya in particular) and the best gym I have seen at any hotel in Indy. There is also a Starbucks onsite...nothing I'd ever be excited about except in Indy, Starbucks is really the best thing going on in terms of caffeine injections. Skip the onsite steakhouse (Shula's) as it's all about grease though if you must, go there for dinner and order shrimp cocktail with a side of steamed broccoli. Their free hotel buffet breakfast is a greasy joke but for just a few dollars more, you can go right next door to Patachou (yum). So all in all, I'd wholeheartedly suggest the Westin. A great deal in Indy!
PS - Got stuck at the Westin during the Indy ice storm of 2011. They gave my colleagues and I a boardroom to work in for three straight days and found some office supplies for us. Amazing customer service, worth 4 stars alone! -

I stayed here as part of a a convention going on next door at the Indiana Convention Center. This Westin certainly is convenient to that location (as well as other downtown Indy locations), but I've certainly experienced better Westin locations. The room (as spacious as it was) could use a good update, and the lighting in the bathroom updated. Cleaning staff is also skimpy on soaps and other amenities. The hotel bar is within Shula's restaurant. It's decent, even if a bit too "midwestern".
All in all, I preferred the Hilton two blocks away.
p.s. Don't park here. Park in one of the city lots (there's one on Capitol) and save a few bucks. -

3 stars for the hotel , would have been a 4 stars had it not been my negative experience with parking.
Yup, give us a little more info please. Misleading information about the parking rate had me - I had to pay TWICE people I parked by myself. THey have no system to check that you have paid and have left and rentering the hotel. You had to choose valet parking to get multiple entrances and exits.
Gosh darn it, then TELL me then. Give me clear expectations and do not post misleading signs on the darn parking structure.
yeah yeah yeah- hotel was great. My visit in Indy was really nice. I loveeee the people. Super nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! great service!!!!!! easy check in and check out!!!!!!!!!!
But the city owns the darn parking service, and it sucks!!!!!!!!! big time!!!!!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times while visiting downtown Indianapolis, and I enjoy it every time. The bed's are great, I just may like them more than my own at home. They say they use some sort of ionization process or something to clean the air in the rooms, I don't know, but whatever it is, it seems to work great. The place always seems to just smell clean.
Being attached to the convention center is a huge plus. I can go from my room, through the massive convention center, and into the several other hotels, the mall or even the beautiful Lucas Oil Stadium without having to go outside. This is a huge plus, especially if you've ever been to Indianapolis during February.
After the work day is done, I can hit up Schula's Steak house for a great steak and conversation with the bartender's Troy or Dave. Later on, there is a great little local bar next door called Loughmiller's, where Todd the bartender pours em stiff and can talk golf, or just about anything until it's time to make it back to my room. -
Review from Sam w.
The beds here are amazing. They call them the "Heavenly Bed." They definitely live up to the name. Some very good sleeping.
But, I was also here for a convention... and the way they set that up and another thing knocked them down from 5 stars to 3 stars.
First star lost for not having enough outlets in enough places w/in the banquet halls where the convention was held. This is the laptop age and every convention space should have ample outlets. I would say a good rule of thumb is one outlet for every 3 people attending, especially as this was an online marketing conference. Other technical conferences I've been to ran extension cords ending in surge protectors under the tables so that everybody who needed electricity had it readily available.
Second star lost for having horrible rough scratchy toilet paper, both in the rooms and in the public restrooms. This is not a cheap hotel. I would think they could afford decent TP for my nether region. This is just one of the unforgivable hotel gaffes like dirty sheets or lipstick on the drinking glasses. Westin, cough up the dough for a "Heavenly Bathroom" with "Heavenly Toilet Paper" instead of that hellish stuff I had to use last week.
So, if you're traveling and you want a good night's sleep, the Westin is probably a good place to go, just bring your own TP for now.
ps. I just docked them another star. I forgot that they now started charging for internet use. I'm pretty sure the year before that they did not. Boo!Listed in: Indiana 2008

I won't stay here again unless my clients insist on meeting at their office. I think this is the worst Westin I've ever stayed at- and I've stayed at plenty.
First of all, why are there only two but usually one person at the front desk? It's a huge hotel! Why don't they have more people?!
Also, why does the phone ring and ring and ring and then you get to a recording that tells you to hold and then rings and rings and rings again. I'm inside the damn building! How can you not pick up the phone when your guests called!
But the worst part? Some girl who apparently wasn't "feeling" well, THREW UP all over my floor. The stench was disgusting. What did the hotel staff do? They wiped it up. Sure enough, the next morning, I could barely even walk out of my room. I complained and complained and they finally did some sort of carpet steaming. But trust me, they're gonna have to replace that carpet. -
Review from Mia M.
The good:
+ The bed. I slept like a rock both nights I was there.
+ The rates - if you go on Hotwire. We scored our room for $75/night.
+ Starbucks in the lobby. I can't say enough about how convenient and wonderful this was. I live 25 miles from the closest Starbucks, so this was a dream come true for me.
+ The staff. They were all very nice without being overbearing.
+ The proximity to everything else.
The bad:
- The walls are extremely thin. We were not all that close to the elevator, but you could hear it dinging its arrival every time it came to our floor. On Saturday night, our very excited, very drunk neighbors were continuing their evening's revelry in their rooms and we could hear pretty much everything.
- The "weight-activated" mini fridge. First off, you couldn't put anything of your own in the fridge, and if you even so much as moved one of the items, the refrigerator recorded the weight change and you were charged. This would have been all fine and good if they hadn't put a price tag of THREE DOLLARS on the candy bars and EIGHT FREAKING BUCKS FOR A TIN OF SMOKED ALMONDS. At least the front desk guy warned us about picking up the items when we checked in.
- $9.95 a day for wireless Internet service? Ridiculous.
- The parking garage is somewhat confusing.
Barring the negatives (which weren't really a huge deal), I was very impressed with the Westin and would stay there again.Listed in: Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn

I stay at the Westin about once a year for work. It is among the better "conference" hotels I have stayed at. The staff is friendly and helpful and must have a low turnover rate as I recognize the same concierge, bellhop, and room service attendant every year.
The room is spacious but minimal - beware the weight sensory mini bar (and the surprise knock on the door that comes at 8am to replace the gummi bears you must have swiped some time after returning from the bars at 2am). No spectacular views, but the king size dream bed is as comfortable as can be and the heavenly dual shower is a nice taste of luxury.
Usually I bring my power industrial strength hair dryer with me on trips, even if I know the hotel will have a hair dryer in the room. When I pack for a stay at the Westin, I leave my hair dryer at home. The hair dryer in the room is a "real" one, with normal strength and settings - not one of those weak tiny wall ones that take about six hours to dry your hair.
Room service is adequate but expensive - however the staff could not be more pleasant, quietly bringing in the meal if you are on a business call and not wanting the party on the other end of the phone to know that you are in the midst of having room service delivered, or, bless their hearts, offering to bring even more water and fresh coffee in the early morning after a little too much wine at St. Elmo's. (They also come to quickly and quietly dispose of your tray before your boss can figure out you ordered room service so you don't have to push your tray three doors down in front of someone else's door.)
This is a wonderful downtown Indy location, within walking distance to local hot spots such as Ruth Chris, St. Elmo's, the Ram, Lucas Oil Stadium, the Chick-Fil-A in the mall, and hey even Hooters. I have not eaten dinner at this particular Shula's, just appetizers and drinks at the bar, but it is a nice hotel bar scene.
Although I have yet to run into Peyton Manning, I do enjoy my stay at the Westin each year. -

This Westin has the green choice door card that declines room service for the next day and in return gives you a $5.00 voucher towards food vendors in the hotel. So it paid for my espresso and oatmeal every morning. The showers take a long time to adjust temperature and we did find a cockroach in the lobby. Maybe he was here for one of the dozens of conventions going on. He sure ain't in town for the food!

Review from Kate K.
For the price I paid via priceline, I can't really complain ($126 total w/ taxes for 2 nights). However, had I not been able to find street parking for free, I'd have been annoyed, even at that low price.
Check-in at 10pm was 10 people deep, with only one person working the counter. Annoyingly, all of us in line got to see 3 other employees peek out from the back room to survey the line length, but apparently 10 separate parties needing to check in was not long enough to warrant a break ending.
The hotel's location is GREAT. However, the main drawback here is the INSANE amount of noise. I can usually sleep fairly well with moderate noise but the doors and walls do NOTHING to keep the noise out. Certainly a lot of the blame goes to the rude and disrespectful patrons sharing the Westin that night, but the staff or security should have done something as we were awake both nights from 2-5am on as people apparently stumbled back from the bars. -

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was OK. Wasn't the best hotel experience and it certainly wasn't the worst. I was disappointed when we checked in and got to our room though. They had given us a room with two doubles and not one king (like my reservation confirmation said). I called down and the front desk manager said that they were extremely busy and he would call me back. Guess what he never called back....I wasn't surprised. So my wife and I just dealt with it. They need to really work on their customer service and follow through. The rooms were clean and modern however the bathrooms were on small side.
The next thing that you should be informed of is that the walls are THIN!!! You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors talking about or doing. People talking in normal indoor voices carry though the hallway and is very loud. Anyone walking in the hallway and talking will seem very loud to you.
The only good thing I have to say about this Westin is that its centrally located and is walking distance to all the local attraction in down town.
I would consider the Marriott, Hyatt or the Omni before staying here. -
Review from Trevor T.
Nice mid-priced hotel located right downtown across of the Indiana State Capitol building. It is connected to the Indiana Convention Center via skywalk, meaning in the summer you won't roast and in the winter you won't freeze.
I stayed in a corner suite overlooking Maryland Ave and the convention center. The living room area has a nice couch, arm chair and small desk. A 27" flat screen tv is located in a cabinet which would be nice if the tv was more than 3" off the floor. The bathroom is pretty standard hotel fare except the Westin, as part of their "Heavenly" package has upgraded the shower head to have 2 heads. So you can spray your head and your a** at the same time.
The bedroom was good sized and featured a desk, a refreshment center, a table with a 27" tv and a king-size Heavenly bed.
The hotel has a Starbucks, gift shop and Shula's (see previous review by me). -

Had a horrible experience at the Westin. I usually come here and choose the Westin as our stay for the races every year, this year was awful. I left my room for three hours and came back to my lap top missing from my room. When security came up with just a pen and paper to "write an incident report" which i was asked to do myself they showed little to know concern to my lap top being taken without my permission from my room. On top of that the customer service and follow up regarding this incident was horrible. I work for a prominent hotel chain and know how this sort of thing works and the westin is the bottom of the barrel. I spent over $200 a night for a week to have my property taken from me with not even a sorry and we'll compensate you. All I have to say is there are far better hotels in Indianapolis. It has been almost 4 days with no follow up on my incident they showed no sense of urgency and for lack of better words don't seem to care that they employ thieves. I lost valuable information that can't be replaced. Shame on them.

Not a bad place to stay.
Am here for a conference, and it is the smoothest conference I have ever attended. The hotel has everything he attendees need. Rooms are clean, halls are easy to get to, etc.
The beds are VERY comfy. The location is great - can easily walk to bars and restaurants. Not too far from the airport.
The bathrooms need fans. I did not eat at the Sula's the onsite restaurant, so can't comment on that. I tend to avoid hotel restaurants as we all know the prices are typically inflated.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. -

I stayed at this hotel for a week due to work and found the access to the Convention Center (where I was everyday) very convenient. Having Starbucks downstairs in the lobby was also a very key factor! On the 3rd floor they have a good sized gym with modern machines and the pool is attached which made fitting a workout & a swim into my schedule really easy and nice.
The room I had was a good size with a flat screen tv and a nice view....pretty basic hotel room. However, the real perk to staying at the Westin was their "Heavenly" bed which made being away from home bearable. A quick tip is that they sell all the bedding in a catalog (look in the desk drawer) so you could aways bring the Westin bed home too ;) -

OK. my husband and i stayed here just a random saturday night, after dinner and drinks in downtown indy. i'm not sure if we're just spoiled by our amazing bed at home... but the bed was very uncomfortable. and the sheets were crunchy. and, by accident, the bottom sheet came untucked and there was blood stain on the mattress! uck! paint was peeling off the vanity in the bathroom. room was small. view was nothing spectacular. honestly, we recently stayed at the sheraton in downtown indy and it was a much comfy-ier experience. rooms are more updated at the sheraton (and much better view of downtown indy). with all of that being said, the service at the westin was attentive and friendly. but save the money. stay at a different hotel in downtown indy.

Stayed for a week during a convention for work. People are always nice and welcoming. The rooms are average. The Flat Screens are awesome, especially the fact that they can swivel to face your desk while you're working gave me the extra comfort boost. Each room is equipped with a mini bar, I wish i had an empty fridge for my leftovers and drinks. I asked room service to bring one up but never got it. The hotel is connected to the convention center and the mall. Location is central to some nice eateries, and everything is walking distance. Did I mention White Castle? Yes..you can walk there. Room service was average. I will give props to the gym. The cardio equipment are definitely up to date. I wouldnt pay over 200/night for this hotel.

It's not five stars because it's not trying to be a five-star hotel. I've stayed here every week for the last year, and I'm still not sick of it, so theyr'e doing something right!
Amenities:
Fitness center - Open 24 hours. Well-equipped: 4 treadmills, 2 bikes, an elliptical machine, a universal weight machine, free weights, yoga mats, etc.
Indoor pool and hot tub - Open early (6:00 AM?) until 11:00 PM
Executive lounge - 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, but is closed on days with light occupancy. If you are entitled to lounge access you usually have to remind the staff, because they never seem to code the room keys right the first time around
Starbucks - open 'til 6:00 PM and does not take Starbucks gift cards (there's also a Starbucks at the Marriott next door, but the Westin's Starbucks sells sandwiches which makes it slightly more viable as a lunch spot)
Room Service - Poor value but the food's OK.
Staff - very helpful and friendly. Lower turnover than some Starwoods I've stayed at.
Shuttle - There isn't one. It's about a $25 taxi ride including tip from the airport.
Beds - "heavenly" (although personally I've always thought that's an overstatement)
Toiletries - Upgraded rooms include mouthwash and lotion, and sometimes....very rarely.....free bottled water.
Room decor - Sage green and grey. The hotel was remodeled in 2006 so it's all pretty new.
The biggest thing to watch out for is their dry cleaning service. I'm not sure which local business they use, but whoever it is has lost a handful of pieces of my colleagues' clothing over the last year.
What's *not* worth 4 stars is the way they treat the staff - the hotel shoeshiner told me he works purely for tips and isn't paid any kind of hourly wage, and one of the doormen was featured in a local newspaper story about the low wages that area hotels get away with. I soothe my conscience with regular tips.
Overall, a very comfortable place to stay. They seem to attract huge conventions pretty much year-round, yet the staff doesn't seem overextended. -

Awesome service. I accidently booked it a week later on http://Hotels.com, but the guy at the front desk said no problem, called http://Hotels.com and got me the discount rate even though there was a major trade show! Parking and Room service were expensive but you get what you pay for. Room was excellent, and I will look past the extra expense of Internet as well. Over expected service these days gt a 5-star from me!
