12 reviews for The Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport
Booked here by company for overnight stay.
Checkin was quick and uneventful. Nice lobby. Room was truly deluxe (stay in hotels about 90 nights/year). Huge pillowtop mattress bed with massive duvet and pillows - extremely comfortable and in top 10% of all I've slept in. Room was very clean.
Also a bonus was a large flatscreen TV hanging on the wall, good-sized desk and good quality coffee maker (unlike the plastic 8$ ones typical for hotels) with Starbucks coffee. Small touches that reflect overall class of room.
I did find the room a tad noisy. Noise from both aircraft overflying (expected for airport hotel, and flights overhead stopped in time for bed), but also the door was inadequate for keeping out converstaions and slamming doors in the hallway.
There was nothing near the hotel, unfortunately, aside from a Denny's and gas station across the street. You can take a 10$ return shuttle to a nearby mall though. Airport shuttle was free.
The restaurant had a huge TV in bar and multiple small ones great for watching the NFL game, and beer wasn't too bad in price for a hotel ($6/pint). I didn't eat in restaurant but food looked ok (for what that's worth...).
All in all an above average stay

Yes it is an airport hotel, but seriously there needs to be a base line level of service. Checked-in late (but did call in advance). Got my room key and went to my room to find out it was turned into a temporary conference room (Strike 1). Went back down stairs, got my key and went to my rm, w-fi was down (Strike 2) and did I mention this whole process took 30 minutes (sense of urgency--Strike 3).
Went to sleep and was happy to get the hell out of that hotel.
But I got my Starwood Points---woo-hoo!!
we stumbled upon this place by accident. growing up i had never really stayed in nice hotels. in fact on this trip, we originally were going to stay at the wingate inn down the street. (that will be my next yelp). needless to say we left there and ended up at the westin.
right when we walked in we were amazed. this place was very well put together. the staff was really friendly and gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us a couple of room options. awesome.
home of the heavenly bed, the heavenly shower, flat screen tvs, etc. this is a non-smoking hotel. we have stayed here twice. the pool is on the roof, so you can see the bellies of the planes as the land at the airport. of course you do also hear the planes, so as long as that doesn't bother you, you should be fine.
it does cost more than the wingate inn...

I got put up in the Westin because American Airlines delayed my flight into DFW, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Austin. Either way I was eager to get a good night's rest in this hotel. When I got in my room, first thing I wanted to do was take a nice shower. I spent about the first 15 minutes in the bathroom trying to make the shower COLDER. On one side of the dial, the shower was spitting out boiling hot water. On the exact other end, it was two notches hotter than I normally shower with. My friend also found it to be unreasonably hot so it wasn't just me.
Another beef I had was that the work staff just didn't seem very friendly. The front desk worker got me to my room but gave off a cold stand-offish aura. Also when we came down at 6:30 AM to catch the airport shuttle, the worker out front was pretty rude to other hotel guests.

Let me start out by saying I'm a bed junkie; there is nothing more amazing in life than a super comfy bed! The Westin needs to be given some sort of award for super comfy beds, they are so plush with so many pillows and the softest comfortor that I have ever felt at a hotel.
The hallways are a little creepy and hospitalish, but what can you really expect from a giant hotel? The rooms are average size, but they are nice and come with the standards; lots of mirrors, desk, average closet.
Basically, the location is great and the beds are literally unbeatable!

I had high expectations for this hotel. I was a bit disappointed.
It tends to be rated 4 stars. I can see where people can rate it that way in that if offers many services. I am giving it a 3 star rating for a few reasons.
1) Our room was near an ice machine which dripped 24 hours a day.
2) We ordered room service. The coffee cup had some sort of sticky goo on the mouth of the cup. Ewww!
3) Every morning there were kids screaming down the hallway around 6am. Not fun since we went there to relax and sleep in.
Now let me tell you the good things. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The room was clean. Check-in was amazingly fast. We never seemed to have to wait long for an elevator even the hotel seemed pretty full. They offer Starbucks coffee with to-go cups for you in your room to brew at your leisure.
Almost a 4 star! So close. I'd rather stay at the Omni though.

Nice hotel. Very nice. I love the Westin bedding and towels, and the room is huge. I also have one whole wall of window, though it does look out on the highway and airport, but that's all that is over here.
Gym is great. Pool is on the roof. The TV is gigantic, and I haven't experienced any signal fade in/out like the reviewer, so maybe it is fixed. There is also a Shell across the street, which can be used in lieu of the mini bar.
Why not five stars? Well, the staff stands at the door and says hello/goodbye every time you are anywhere near the door. If you like having your @ss kissed, you'll love it; I don't want to be noticed at the hotel, so it irritates me. Oh, and, the toilet runs. This may just be my room, but I find it super annoying. I guess they'd let me switch rooms, but I don't feel like dealing with it.
I would absolutely recommend you stay here if you need to stay anywhere near the airport.

Amenities include: Comfy sofa's, mini kitchen including fridge, 2 flat screens, and a King Sized bed. I love that they fine smokers $200 bucks for lighting up. Although in Texas, I felt like I was in another state. I'll admit, I slipped into that luxurious over sized robe very easily after my 2 shower head experience. Lovely, and I really didn't want to leave my room.

Literally only spent 12 hours here, but it was a very nice twelve hours.
Front Desk service was courteous at both check in and check out. Room was nice. Bed was super comfy. Good water pressure in the shower. LOTS of free parking!!
I'm sure this hotel has many more amenities and services, but I didn't get to use any of them. For a decent priced place (thanks Hotwire!) to sleep - awesome.

Very nice airport hotel. Probably the best pick if you need to stay on the North end of DFW.
The suites are nice - very spacious complete with two plasma TV's (unfortunately no HD signals). Breakfast buffet is a tad expensive. Free shuttles to DFW about every 30 minutes. Nice rooftop pool. Standard Starwood and Westin benefits such as the heavenly bed. Nice modern decor throughout the hotel.
Almost nothing around the hotel as Kathleen pointed out - There is shell gas station for snacks and sundries and a denny's when you are desperate for food.

I've been to many many hotels and I must say this hotel trumps tons, and is near the top of my list, if not at at the top!
The bed, sheets, comforter, pillow are all so comfy that I feel like I'm being hugged in a nice warm snug marshmellowy burrito... oh and without the weird mildew funky smell that you would find at most hotels. Things that have separated this hotel from the rest is that, they have a very nice flat screen TV, clean slick bathroom, bathrobe, mini bar, really comfy sofa, decent sized gym on the top floor, and incredibly friendly staff. The atmosphere of the hotel feels more on the upscale side as well.
Complaints? No free internet (cost $10/day), but that's fine, the last thing I want to do after work is to stay at the computer some more. Oh, and their pay-per-view channel blocks Cartoon Network. Give me my cartoons. ):
If for any reason you need to be near DFW airport, this is where you should stay. It's not your typical airport hotel. Boutique style, spacious rooms, and of course, the Heavenly Bed. Rooftop Reebok gym and pool, with a view of... the airport runways. A decent bar & sbux in the lobby and free parking (or you can valet) will make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible when surrounded by absolutely nothing. If you are a stranded or weary traveler, this hotel will surely ease the suffering.
