After missing a flight connection to Paris we wanted to crash at a hotel near the airport to get back quickly in the morning and this place was a perfect spot. While it was not the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in I have to admit for the $100 pricetag it has a Yelp 5 star value worth of it.

The heated pool is indoor/outdoor and much fun to hang out with. Oh yea, and it has an 8 foot deep end which caused to have a cannonball contest which took a nice load off after flying and sitting in an airport all day. The pool closes at 12am (later than most places) and the bar closes down at 1am.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich from room service and my roomate ordered up a bacon pizza. Both were fantastic and came quickly which was shocking for a 2am food order. We even made a late request for ranch and our food delivery guy came back up within minutes with it for us.

Front desk staff was great, my heavenly bed made me drool and the awesome shower let me just have a great night and forget about the flight I missed. The only thing I regret is not stealing a towel but I had no room!

westin is well known for their beds.  i've heard many people proclaim with uninhibited glee "OHHHHH THOSE WESTIN BEDS!!!"  to the point where i feel uncomfortable sharing the moment with them.  i mean, i'm not that close with you, please don't get all "i'll have what she's having" with me.

i mean, really.  it makes me feel dirty.

that being said, it makes me think these beds are pretty darn great.  with the high expectations on the beds at the westin, i'm looking forward to a comfortable night's sleep when i arrive at the hotel on my little ol' trip.  and it's a westin, so i know for a few days i'm going to feel like the upper crust and suddenly start drinking tea midday with my pinky in the air.

the westin doesn't let me down in classiness.  the lobby, despite being renovated, is still elegant, well-kept, and grandiose.  those at the front desk/check in are polite, well-mannered, and kind.  because i'm a "preferred guest", i get bumped up to the ninth floor with a better room.  oh, the relaxation, i think.

i head up the glass elevator to the room, exhausted from the hours of travel added atop my normal work hours for the day.  i walk in the room and think...hmm..  that sure is a big ol bed.  fluffy.

so i plop myself down on it and my immediate thought is "hmm.  really?"

i guess they're alright.  but it didn't beat the doubletree i stayed at a few years ago in memphis.  i *still* think about that comfy night of rest.  this certainly was not one of the more memorable hotel beds like everyone seems to think.  more hype than reality.

i had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant.  breakfast was a buffet, and truthfully, i adore breakfast buffets.  not too bad a selection, but also a bit more pricey than i think the quality was worth.  dinner wasn't bad, and they gave me a lot for what i paid.

overall, i enjoyed my westin experience, and if need be, would stay there again.

but the beds are overrated.

After two nights at the Courtyard, I was ready for the Westin experience.  The Westin has an underground path to whisk guests from the parking lot (where guests are charged $6 a night and visitors are subject to highway robbery) to the lobby.  Great plan.  But, why so many steps for me to be dragging my rolling bag and  standard business traveller computer bag?  The elevator seemed to be full of giggly teens on a Thursday night.  Not sure why.

I will always appreciate the Heavenly Bed and shower.  The room was large, and while an ununsual shape, it had a ton of windows, which I liked.  Skip the room service-my rotisserie chicken had clearly not been rotisseries, and the vegetables microwaved until they were limp.
The staff was very helpful in terms of giving directions as well as overall attitude.
