It's above the bar so yes there's noise.  But this is mentioned when booking.

We called room 9 home for three nights.  Great streat views, high ceilings, spacious, tv, tons of storage space, and a shared bathroom down the hall.  We were there mid week and didn't have an issue with the bar downstairs.

Great price and location.

*** EDIT- December 2007 ***
We really liked this hotel last year but they have just ruined the Christmas plans of 10-14 people. (returning customers!)

After the wonderful experience last Christmas/New Year, we reserved several suites in OCTOBER. 3 days before Christmas, someone called to ask the hotel a question-- and discovered they had GIVEN AWAY OUR SUITES and they no longer had us on the books!
NO explanation, NO offer of help. NOTHING!

This is unacceptable. There are (were) 6 Families from around the State going there based on plans that were 2 months old. At least we found out before making the trip there.

Stay somewhere else- no one needs this!

Sweet little older hotel in charming Port Townsend.
Squeaky, narrow, steep stairs lead you up to 2 floors of very high-ceilinged rooms.  There was a kitchenette in one of the suites, so we all got together a few times to make a little dinner or breakfast, and someone brought a projector- so we used a front room in the suite to show movies.

There are definite pros to staying here: the prices were excellent, it really was a charming place, and the location was really good. We were there btw. Christmas & New Year, and the Hotel and town were decorated and sweet. There were cool shops, really good Native Art, and I would return to the town just to get unusual gifts for friends and family.

Cons: you were actually expected  to move your car every few hours!! Ever hear of a parking pass?? This really did NOT make us feel welcome!! We had rented a floor and a half of rooms, some people driving in from out of state, and here we were, having to run out/ run back from whatever we were doing every few hours to move all of our cars around. That was idiotic.

[ They will also tell you many, many times that a (bad) J.Lo movie was filmed there. MANY times.... ]

All in all, Except for the constant running around moving the car, we thought the hotel was a great deal. If you can stay in the so-called "Honeymoon Suite", reserve that one. It's great & has a wonderful view!

This place is really cool. Don't expect your remote to work, or the internet to work in all the rooms, but the Victorian feel is amazing--really like walking into the 1800s, and the rooms are all unique. We stayed in room 15, which is on the third floor. It is huge! It has a full kitchen, a fireplace, a claw foot bathtub, a king size bed--and a loft above it, a huge deck with a picnic table and swing, it is amazing and affordable. Another is cool room is 19. I would definitely recommend staying here as long as you don't need flat screen TVs and all the fancy amenities of a cookie-cutter resort.
