Review from Stella Y.
We came here on the last night of our business trip as some of my colleagues were looking for a good steak. Most of the restaurant is indoors in the lobby of the Ritz. We got outdoor seating since we're all northerners who live in colder climates and we wanted to enjoy the warmth and palm trees one last night.
In terms of the food, the only the steaks here are "good" (both the rib eye and filet) - the best out of all the Ritz-Marriott restaurants at Grand Lakes, which honestly isn't say much, but we were pleased. I ordered the roasted chicken and it was really overcooked and leathery, and the portion was really small, so beware. Luckily I wasn't too hungry but if I had been otherwise, I might have ordered something else (seriously). I also tried the scallops and linguine in an arrabiata sauce - this was good. Their overall menu isn't that extensive, you may feel somewhat limited when trying to decide. We had a bottle of malbec and cabernet, both good but neither were outstanding.
I'd dine outside, even though outdoor seating is limited and you may have to wait. The beautiful golf course surrounds the dining area and you can do some people watching. It was a very peaceful and breezy dining experience for early February.
Service is a little slow. -

Superb!!
Amazing dinner! Didn't think chicken really could be done so great and the prime rib was very good. But the truffled polenta was to die for! And the desserts are sinfully heavenly! The peanut butter creme brulee seriously doesn't really get much better! This place is really top notch. We were so enamored by the food that we saved room to order 4 desserts to go the day after we had dinner AND they remembered our name!!! Really so impressed!! And all 4 desserts were incredible!
They just raised the bar for what fine dining should be! -

I LOVE BRUNCH HERE! The value is actually outstanding for the variety of food available. About $80. Unlimited caviar? Unlimited dessert? Unlimited sushi? Unlimited orange flambee crepes? Unlimited potato pancakes? Unlimited call-your-own omletes? UNLIMITED BACON AND MIMOSAS?
Yes. Yes, please. Thank you. -

The continual "Marriott" ization of the Ritz is evidenced here. Nothing like paying Ritz prices for a Courtyard meal (and no offense to Courtyard, I've had better experiences there than tonight at Vineyard).
When checking in was told of 30-minute wait and headed back upstairs at Ritz bar--with assurances I'd be called when table was ready. Forty minutes later Ritz bar called and was told " sure, we've had a table ready for 10 minutes." So much for being called....
One hour after being seated -- nothing had happened (except for my wine). 15 minutes later dinner arrived -- a $40 fillet stone cold and $38 halibut frozen and overcooked. "Assistant" manager apologized for "super slow" service then disappeared! No accountability, no customer concern. There are lots of good restaurants in this town -- would you really choose to throw your money away here? -

This morning a client meeting had me visiting the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes for breakfast. The Vineyard Grille, located in the bottom floor of the facility is, as you would expect, magnificently decorated and appointed in luxurious style. Comfort and service are paramount and neither disappointed.
Comfort and great service notwithstanding, I was at the Vineyard for breakfast. I ordered an egg white omelet, served with string potatoes, toast and a tiny (less than bite size) muffin. My companion ordered the same with bacon. Both meals were well prepared and enjoyable. That said, a hotel that cannot manage to prepare eggs to order has some serious issues so I would not have expected anything less.
I would have expected, however, a smaller bill. Before adding a tip, our meal came to $30. Add in a tip for admittedly great service and the $15 that it cost me to park at the hotel for only 75 minutes, and the experience cost $51, or about $12.66 per egg!
I leave it to you, gentle reader, to determine whether that is a good value. -

I have not had a bad meal at any Ritz-Carlton establisment and tonite was none the less. The Vineyard Grill is located on the bottom level of the Ritz here in Orlando Grande Lakes. The restaurant is basically an American steakhouse but well executed with top-notch service.
I had the "surf and turf" (7oz filet and petite lobster tail). The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare and was very tender. Not quite as flavorful as Ruth's Chris but still very good. The petite lobster tail was deliciously sweet. The three sides we shared were grilled corn squash, grilled wild mushrooms, and asparagus with bernaise sauce. The grilled corn squash and wild mushrooms were excellent! The asparagus was decent.
I boycotted from having wine as I have a policy that when restuarants charge more than 250% of the cost of the wine, it's well, it's just not right! Not that this was what I was going to order but $45 for a $6 bottle of Beringer White Zin?!?!?! Well, this is one of those situations where next time you know to just bring your own bottle and pay the corkage.
It was still a nice meal (could've been better with some wine) and the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Dining early you can opt to sit on the outdoor terrace that overlooks the beautifully landscaped grounds. -

Located at the Ritz Carlton in Grand Lakes of Orlando. We've been here 3 or 4 times - mostly breakfast and one light afternoon dine. They put out a pretty big breakfast spread with cereals, eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, b&g and they have a couple of omelet bars. One thing I love is they serve fresh squeezed orange juice and it is so delightful!

You know you're at the Ritz Carlton when you see a $25 dollar bottle of cab listed on the menu for $80 bucks. With that said, I just couldn't stomach the idea of having a nice meal without a glass of wine. I had read in food and wine that some of the house wines at the Ritz Carlton are actually pretty good in quality, so I went ahead and ordered a $10 glass of Riesling from Germany, which went perfectly with my salmon. By the way, this same bottle can be purchased for $10 from your local store, nice huh?
ANYWAY, I ordered the salmon with a side of "tater tots". Now before you laugh, you might want to know that their tater tots are way different then anything ever seen before. The tater tots are actually garlic mashed potatoes and then they somehow rollthem into a ball, apply a coat of bredding and bake them in the oven. The taste was interesting to say the least, but not my style, the inside was good, but the bredding on the outside just tasted weird to me. My server was very accommodating and promptly removed them from my bill.
The salmon was cooked perfectly, a nice crusty layer on the top, and tender and juicy inside. I highly recommend the creamy lemon and garlic sauce they suggest for the side of it (included for free). It really complements the flavor of the salmon and makes it melt in your mouth.
Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience, but I definitely didn't feel like I was getting what I paid for here at this restaurant, so I probably wouldn't return until they lower their wine prices, or next time I'll bring my own bottle. ;) -

What a disappointment. The Ritz Carlton is stunning but the Vineyard Grill is clearly on a budget or and without a proper chef and or sou chef.
Came here with a party of 4 and all dishes where... well... not so good:
Beet Salad was good. Beets were perfectly cooked and dressed lightly with the perfect amount of chevere goat cheese. The potato leek soup was bland and the shrimp cocktail and french onion soup were a-ok.
Main dishes: Fillet Mignon was fine but my friend only ate a 1/4 of it and claimed she was full from the french onion soup. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted good but had no garlic. The bouillabaisse was sent back due to a lack of broth and thick, burnt bread. The solver dole had way tooo much butter and not enough lemon...
Service: the waiter did his best and handled our group (and unhappiness) quite elegantly.
It was a long night for all of us... service is also very slooow on the positive note: a solid selections on new and old world wines
A party of 4, 4 appetizers, 4 main dishes, 3 bottles of wine and no dessert= $520 with a tip Not Worth it... -

We recently returned from Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes and the three meals we enjoyed at the Vineyard Grill were true highlights of our stay at this beautiful property! The dinner was delicious, the food was all beautifully presented and the service was good! We also had the most amazing breakfast two days in a row. The cappuccinos were exceptional and the variety of the buffet was outstanding....made to order eggs, french toast, waffles...basically anything you can think of for breakfast for one all inclusive price. Any time we stay at RC Orlando, we will be back!

At the Ritz Carlton and had several options for dinner. We opted to go to the Vineyard because by looking at the menu it was clearly the signature restaurant for the resort. Ricardo the server was fantastic but everything good stopped there. The mixed green salad was OK but was a healthy portion. My company had the Chilean Sea Bass which was shockingly small for 40$ and i had the Scallops which was supposed to be the special of the weekend. They were terrible! Chewy, over cooked and under flavored. The "Wild" mushrooms looked and tasted like they were from a national supermarket. The key lime tart was the most unsatisfying dessert i have ever had. Literally. I rarely complain but felt like i should based on the scallops alone. They took the Scallops of the bill and it was still $100+ bill. The manager never came over he just sent poor Ricardo to tell me the took off the plate. Real classy.. Really a disappointing time. I would go to the Bar Lounge.

The food was good but over priced in every respect. Why do we we support snobbery. I would go to No No's Italian over this ... sans for Beautiful Katy in the Grill. Gorgeous and sweet lady from Amarillo.

A similar dining experience can be had by going to Denny's and flushing a couple hundred dollars down the toilet. Small glasses of wine priced pretty close to the cost of a full bottle. Entrees are all in the 30+ range. The snapper was basically a fillet with dry rub that has been cooked until it has turned into cardboard. When you have to wait for fish to cool down before you can eat it, you know it is not going to be pretty. What was really impressive was that the presentation was possibly even worse than the fish! A burned fish fillet with a small red pepper leaning against it. Wow! My wife had a rib-eye steak that was actually OK but the garnish was a "medium rare" wooden pick, a quarter size polenta disk and a small carrot that had started to mold near the stem. Yummy. The waitstaff, however, was very professional and seemed to recognize that the food was sub par. I would never go back even at half price. This place is overpriced to the absurd and the quality is marginal.
