Review from Kim R.

According to some of the reviews here, this is not a place for upscale yuppies who expect to over pay for poor service and substandard food.
In my opinion, the food and the service is good and you can't beat the prices. You get decent portions and there's hardly ever a wait. Sure, the decor could stand to be updated but that's what gives this place character. This is your neighborhood watering hole, nothing more, nothing less. You don't have to pretend to be someone your're not cuz the patrons frankly don't give a rats azz. They are there to eat and drink! -
Review from Dave S.
There are very few places that I truly dislike and I abhor going to. This is one of those places. The atmosphere is just awful! I can only stomach this place for a drink at the most before I feel the urge to run away and never come back.
The only reason why I come here is that sometimes my friends want to come here after the other bars close. Most of the time I decline but everyone and then when I am the driver I will suck it up and take one for the team.
The service is adequate at best. The place just reeks of old beer. Th place is always in a state of disarray and 99% of the crowd should be in bed passed out before they even came there. Instead they are at the Valley getting on my last nerve.Listed in: You suck!

I agree with one of the other reviewers. This place is like having a drink in the basement of some old alcholoic grandfathers place.
Its dark and dingy. Everything about it screams cheap.
If they replaced some things inside, maybe got friendlier staff, added a few more beers on tap etc, it would be tolerable.
The plus side is that it is a 4 o'clock bar on the south side.
Ive been here maybe 5 times tops and honestly every time besides one that I was there (because the drinks were flowing full force) Ive felt not only out of place, but also and more importantly TREATED like I was out of place.
This is a bar for locals who've been frequenting it for 10+ years, if you have , then you'd probably have a great time, if you haven't, then...probably not.
Its good for a drink or 2 when your in the neighborhood and you don't want to go home early.
Be forewarned, this is one of the only bars Ive ever been to that does NOT accept debit or credit cards (at least it didn't the last time I was in there about 2 years ago now) -

I went here with my wife because I like the fried chicken and soup.
We had a coupon which we paid ten dollars for but they would not honor because we would not spend 40 dollars in food even thought the coupon said you only had to spend 20 dollars in food.We spent 30 minutes talking to the waitress ,manager and finally the owner But received no satisfaction and left without ordering. They said they have had this problem before.
We told the owner we would not be back and she said she didn't care.
I guess she doesn't care care about her employees either because her waitress lost a good tip and she lost a customer who has eaten there many times. -

I think I only end up here sometimes because it is the safest of the four o'clock bars in the area. And they never charge a cover. Ever. Yeah, every once in a while a fight will break out, but that can be expected. The drinks here run the gamut from mildly trendy martinis (can be pretty good, depending on who is tending bar) to the ever popular beer-and-shot. I like it here, because it is a very local place, and most weekend nights for me it almost becomes a mini high school reunion. But the drinks are a little overpriced, and of course, the price goes up after 2am.

I guess I'm alone on this. But the decor once again doesn't matter if the food is good and the people are friendly. I admit, this looks like the bar in Porky's. Without the pig. But every time that I have been in this Joint. Someone has bought me a drink. The people are very friendly. And if your lucky enough to have Fay show up (The owners wife) watch out. The food is great for a bar. The beer battered perch is the best around. Oh! You better bring cash. Cuz dare ain't no lectricity fer da credit machine.

The best Shrimp Alfredo and Chicken Alfredo!! It is creamy and 10x better than Red Lobsters shrimp alfredo (which is very greasy!!). The Place is dark and gloomy but I would recommend you take your food to go!
