I scheduled an appointment to get my hair curled for a wedding I was going to attend on a Friday. I yelped for hair salons across from my hotel and I saw that the Upstairs Salon was right across the street from where I was staying.
I went into the salon a little bit before 1pm and my appointment was scheduled with Michael. I told him that all I wanted was simple curls and that I had a wedding to attend at 4pm that same day. He was very accommodating and very friendly. I actually was able to help assist him with my full head of hair!
They way he curled my hair was definitely a first for me. Every time he curled a piece of my hair he would then clip the curl to my head so the curl wouldn't drop yet because my hair is very heavy and thick. After all the curling was done I looked like I had a up do but I still wasn't done. He sprayed my hair and had me sit for 10 minutes under the dryer and then back we were to remove the clips.
Once the clips were removed I had a head full of bouncy curls! I was excited and thrilled to see how it turned out and I was extremely happy. The staff was great and very kind. Michael was great and very charming and witty. I walked out a very happy, bouncy girl!!! Thx sooo much Michael!!!

This review is for Yvonne. I mentioned the groupon deal last wednesday and they squeezed me in that day because of a cancallation. I told her that i wanted a gellish french manicure. I needed them to look really nice because I told her I might be getting engaged that friday! She told me that she would give me lucky nails haha so that it would happen...and guess what! it DID! I can't really attribute my engagement to her job well done, but I can say that they looked beautiful when my now fiance slipped that gorgeous ring on my finger. They looked great in the pictures we had taken saturday and I was getting a bunch of compliments on how nice my nails were when I was showing off my new bling! Thanks Yvonne!

If you are looking for quality nails without the damage done by most nail salons then you must go see Jill. She is professional, fun and amazing at her job. She is very careful with making sure she doesn't damage your nails and she does everything by hand-no machines that grind off your nails. If you want gel nails she is absolutely the best in the business. She took my "damaged acrylic nails" and turned them into healthy gel nails in a matter of 3 months. If you want acrylics-she will treat your nails with care and not take off 3 layers every time she fills them. She's wonderful and reasonably priced. The shop is nice and located in Old World Village right off the 405 and Beach/Gothard. She is definitely worth every penny. Don't waste your money anywhere else.

I went and got a full set done with Jill... She totally made my day. I looked all over for a good nail place and I can finally say I finally found IT... She really knew what she was doing and she was soooo cool and has such an awesome personality! This is definitely a great place to go to if you want the full experience :)

Helga, at the Upstairs Salon has been doing my hair for several years. She does such a wonderful job with color...and her cuts are THE BEST! I constantly get compliments on my hair...and I always tell everyone...you've got to go to Helga at the Upstairs Salon in Huntington Beach...SHE'S AWESOME!!!
