Hubby and I stay in Larkspur hotels frequently for travel so when travelling up to the San Jose area with Lola (our German Shephard) we stay at the Toll House.
First off - they are very accommodating to four legged friends - there is a wonderful lady who works in the restaurant who gives Lola dog treats and a water bowl for the patio...Nobody ever looks at us strangely for having a large dog with us. They have decent green areas for dogs, plus Los Gatos is super dog friendly.
The hotel is comfortable. BUT.... the rooms, beds and balconies are very small. I was told that this is because it is a European style hotel. I don't know if I completely buy this...
The restaurant is excellent! Great food, drinks and service.
Overall, no major complaints Quiet rooms and a nice locale.
I went there today for the SCBTA meeting. I dont do business travel so it was nice to get out of the office. the place was pretty nice. they had just renovated the rooms but not the suites. parking is hard to find, just remember to go under in the parking lot and then if there is no parking make a right and there is parking in the back. The meeting room that we were in was kinda green and reddish. it was kinda nice, for a room that size it would have been nice if the ceilings were a little higher.
well toll house while i do think your facilities are great, the food and service kinda lack luster. albiet that it was hotel banquet food, but still. the chicken was dry, a little tastless and it had a sherry sauce that i think would have been a lot better with seafood. we were at the last table which means that we got our food last however they ran out of food at our table....so if you do a banquet there make sure they have enough food so your guest dont go hungry for too long.
i think this is a great place for weddings as it is in a beautiful setting. if i had guest who wanted a wedding in the hills i would for sure send them there.

Got married here in the courtyard and had our reception in the Ballroom. One word... PERFECT.
My wife and I couldn't have been happier with the event staff here. They brought such a sense of personal care to their work and made our big day that much more special for us last summer.
It was nearly 110 degrees the day of the wedding, and the wedding planner jumped right on it by having the large awning umbrellas set up, ice water ready for all the guests, and all the other logistics ready to keep our guests cool and get them out for the ceremony and back in as fast as possible.
The food was incredible, and the service was spot on. A perfect 5 Stars all the way around for the event staff, the honeymoon suite, and the great care they took to make everything just right. Thank you, Toll House!

I came here for my birthday with my girl friend as a little getaway trip from the world. I must say, the service is outstanding and the rooms are simply amazing! Due to it being my birthday, they upgraded our room to a suite with a king size bed (which I am laying down in as I type this review). The view is gorgeous and again all the workers here are a delight to see and speak with.
When my gf and I unloaded everything we quickly got ready for a festive evening. Upon our return, we came upon a delicious chocolate cake with a personally signed card saying happy birthday.
Would I come back? Oh you bet! Would I recommend any other hotel but Toll House? Not by a long shot my friend. Toll House is near everything in Los Gatos and the service is nothing less than top notch.
My daughter and I arrived in Los Gatos right after my mom died; our first night was spent at a horror of a motel, so we immediately switched to the Toll House. What a good decision!
The staff was considerate and kind (we'd told them why were in town) and gave us a quiet, luxurious room with a balcony. The beds were to die for. All amenities were wonderful, including fresh, warm Toll House cookies every evening.
The second night we were there we had to have a repair made, and the serviceman was there within five minutes.
Nice computer/internet section in case we didn't have a laptop. Very pleasant surroundings. The room was quiet the whole week we were there except for the air conditioner which we had to run because it was ten thousand degrees outside. We had two queen beds.
Six weeks later hubby and I came back to Los Gatos for the memorial service and there was no question about where we would stay. The staff remembered me and was just as kind as they had been before.
This time we had a king bed, just as comfortable and cozy as the queens had been. The weather had cooled off to tolerable which was a huge relief. Every night I sat out on the balcony and watched the moon rise.
Special kudos to Karen at the front desk, whose kindness and helpfulness went 'way above and beyond. This was my first experience with anything other than a regular motel, and I now believe, to quote my daughter, "Luxury, once tasted, becomes a necessity". Heh heh. Needless to say, after living in luxury for two weeks, I am sold!
There's convenient underground parking was free; the only thing I wished for was more security cameras in the area. That could've been because we had a lot of precious things from my mom's in the car, however.
The last night we were there, by the time we got back to the hotel late at night from my mom's, after working for two weeks clearing out the house and going through the service, I found that all the fresh cookies were gone! Oh no! But about an hour later, Karen appeared at our room with fresh-baked ones. How special was that? I stood there and cried at her kindness.
I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Its location is convenient to just about everything. Hubby and I walked to Farmers Market across the street one morning; that was fabulous.
If we're ever in Los Gatos again, this is where we'll be staying. Considering our reasons for being there, we received far more than physical comfort and appreciated all the kindness we received from the staff.

Just came back from a romantic anniversary weekend at Toll House Hotel. Cute little place! Complimentary parking, great ambiance, plush robes in the room and the bed to die for!
We did have a little hiccup in our stay. Our electronic key was not opening our door and no, it wasn't demagnetized. We had to wait 20 mins for maintenance to fix it so at that time, the front desk offered us something at the bar...we declined as our patience was wearing thin.
They ended up not fixing the door but luckily they were able to close an adjacent door next to us that served as our door.
I didn't think they'd give me a free night's stay (afraid of rejection) so the next morning I asked for complimentary breakfast brunch since they told me to let them know if we needed anything. And it was a great choice. Per person brunch was $34/each so the hubby and I got our money's worth which was probably what we spent for a night's stay.
Thank you Toll House for taking care of us!

We stayed here while we were in town for a wedding.
They staff was exceptionally helpful in every way. From prompt room service to housing all the flowers for the wedding in their fridge. We got the group rate on our room $169. Pretty reasonable but I felt the modern lobby didn't really match the room. Ours looked like one that hadn't gone through the remodel yet. The beds were super comfy and I did love that it was super dog friendly. They gave Beau treats and a HUGE bone and let the man take him to the bar to enjoy beers and a burger.
Toll House is the best place to stay in Los Gatos. Walking distance to just about anything and free parking.
My family and I had brunch at The Toll House for Mother's Day. It was fairly crowded when we arrived, and I know they were under pressure from double booking reservations, but everything was great! The service, the food, the environment. I have no complaints. It was so nice to share a day with my loved ones, and have nothing left to worry about to clean up afterwards.
I'm giving 2 stars simply because the outdoor courtyard area was very impressive, and for the front desk staff who were very friendly and helpful.
We researched this location for our wedding and reception. We stopped by one Saturday evening to take a look at it, and the front desk staff let us take a look at the ballroom. They gave us a wedding packet and had us fill out a form with our contact information.
We love the location of the hotel, and the fact that it IS a hotel which would be convenient for our guests. I contacted the event/catering manager and arranged an appointment, which ended up getting moved around a couple of times. That didn't bother us because we were very interested in talking to her and were willing to be flexible. We had some concerns about their pricing because the bar packages were much more expensive then other locations, as was the 20% service fee.
We had about an hour and a half to kill before our appointment, so walked around Los Gatos, even had a drink in the bar at the restaurant in the hotel. At our appointment time, we went to the front desk, only to be informed that the event manager had left because she had a migraine. We were a little surprised that no one bothered to call us, and when I got home, I even checked my emails (since that was the primary way we were communicating), and...nothing. So we wasted our time waiting for an appointment that would have been nice to have been rescheduled. One of the sales people showed us the rooms, but he had no information about weddings except to tell us that we would probably have some negotiating ability if we were able to book 25-30 rooms.
Anyway, we were obviously a little surprised at the lack of customer service of this location, and because of the way the situation was handled, we had reservations about how our wedding and reception would be supported. It has now been a week, and I have not been contacted for an apology or an offer to reschedule by the event coordinator. Not very professional, in my opinion.

We went to look at this place for our wedding and reception.
When we got there, there was a reception set up, (which is always a plus, so you can get a better idea of how it would look.)
It's a very pretty hotel, and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately, the indoor banquet rooms look like any other hotel banquet rooms.
Although, the outdoor reception site is beautiful.
That was the thing that nixed it for us.Personally, we don't want to be eating and dancing outside in the evening.
It would be great for a luncheon, or even to just have dinner outside.
It's a really nice venue, just not what we were looking for. Prices aren't too bad either.

The Three Degrees Restaurant is incredible! My trio entertained there during a sensational dinner party last New Year's Eve and at a romantic dinner last Valentine's Day. The dining experience is outstanding, and the placed was packed. They even had to stop accepting reservations on Valentine's Day, and we'll be back playing at Easter and Mother's Day brunches. We often entertain private parties and wedding receptions at the Toll House. With the hotel's attentive service, it's easy to help everyone have a wonderful time, and their guests always enjoy a memorable experience.
Never stayed here, but they do great holiday brunches. since i have a small family, we never really make anything for the holidays because its too much work for just 2 of us to eat. this place is perfect for us. great food and great service.
try their buffet! i never really like buffets cause i feel the quality get sacrificed for the quantity of food that they make, but this isnt really the case here. everything i had was very good. they even have a chocolate fountain for you fruit and chocolate lovers.

I was in a wedding several weeks ago and the staff was incredibly attentive and professional to everyone in the wedding party. The staff was so kind and took care of so many details such as making sure our bags were brought up to our room while we were at the ceremony. They were also very prompt in making sure that the coffee and snacks I ordered for the bride on the day of the wedding were delivered promptly. There was another wedding party at the hotel and they didn't miss a beat in taking care of both of our groups!
Stayed here while in town for a wedding. Good locatiom at the end of Santa Cruz Avenue. Walking distance to a cute dog park and Sunday Farmer's Market. You can also walk to numerous boutiquey stores and a wide variety of restaurants - Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese, etc. The hotel has been recently redone - the lobby was nice and there was a nice looking bar area and courtyard. While you're checking in you can select from two different flavored waters - strawberry and lemon, with the fruit sitting right in the container.
Upstairs the rooms are nice - cute balcony with chairs and a little table. The beds have definitely been updated and were very comfy. Nice newer headboards. TV was old - not a flat screen. I think they've done only the cheap upgrades. They installed a semi-circular curtain rod, but the bathroom still has old school brown tiles. The sink is still tiled, and while there is a fridge and microwave, it's quite old. Functional though and convenient. The door to the bathroom was old and the wood was peeling up at the bottom.
The room was clean and they supplied 2 sets of shampoo, conditioner, soaps and lotions. I would stay here again if I were in the area...
Review for the buffet, we did not stay in the hotel.
The food is good-to-excellent quality. The choices were limited and very, very American but some people like that. You pay for the quality, with tax and tips our champagne brunch came to about $37 a person. For that amount, I personally would be happier at a sushi bar or E&O or other less grandmother-friendly restaurant.
I would not ever choose to go here again, but when the relatives are choosing the location sometimes you're stuck with it. I have to admit that the chocolate mousse cake was incredible.
So F'in convenient to all the shops and restaurants in the area! Forget renting a car! I love it here, I went here for training once and I loved the feel of the hotel. Its so organized and cute! Customer service is awesome I've heard, and they're pretty funny!

we stayed here when we were in the area for a wedding at nestldown. very comfortable hotel, calm and cozy, with a welcoming and helpful staff and great location.
the food was very good, though the restaurant staff seemed harried and stretched too thin with the crush of sunday morning business.
Nice hotel without being overly upscale. Great place to have business meetings. Great courtyard area and bar area has a great fireplace. Also they make incredible chocolate chip cookies.
If you are in Downtown Los Gatos and are hungry and in search of a classy happy hour head over to the Toll House Hotel and up to the Three Degrees Restaurant and Bar. They have mouth watering munchies to choose from and if in the mood for a decedant dessert try the creme brulee or any for that matter.
I got married in August and selected this hotel for our out of town guests. Due to the budget and the location! Everyone loved it! Great service and cleaned rooms. Love the fresh Toll House cookies that they put out in the afternoon. Yummy!
We had a brunch for 35 people the Sunday after our daughter's wedding. They gave us a great price, we had a private room and there was so much food to chose from it was difficult to not overeat. Everyone was particularly impressed by the dessert table. We would return to this restaurant.
