6 reviews for The Sunbird Restaurants
Yes, a pretty pricey place....But the CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH is worth every penny....You will think you died and went to heaven....3 rooms full of food, Omlete/ Pasta made to order bar, Waffle Bar, everything from Fruit to Salmon....Hot chocolate Bar....seriously delicious. I reccomend the Bananas Foster Waffles at the Waffle Bar.
I have only been oce for dinner on a Friday. I had some great Prime Rib...If you go Sunday -Thursday, they have dinner specials...I suggest going then to get a deal and enjoy the view.
This is a favorite with our out of town guesta and every one STILL talks about it!!!
This place must have changed since the other reviews were written (they are OLD). We just ate here one week ago and it seems a shell of it's former glory (as described in previous reviews).
Upon entering, we waited and waited and waited for the hostess. We thought maybe we were there on the wrong day, maybe they were closed. Figured, they must be REALLY busy. Finally, she shows up. We go to the table. We see the dining room has about four other tables of diners eating. So busy they are NOT.
Yes, the view is great. Service: not so good. We waited for water, we waited for bread even (which was "house-made" but nothing special).
We all had the house speciality "Prime Rib." Nothing special here. It was tough -- only about 1/2 of the meat was even edible. The mashed potatos were barely warm and were dried out. The veggies were so undercooked they could not be cut. What a mess. What a disappointment.
After eating (what was edible anyway), we waited for our waitress to return to take our dessert orders and ask if we'd like coffee. Again, we waited and waited -- for oh, about 20 minutes. She never asked. Instead she brought ONE serving of cheesecake (and this was a TINY sliver) for the person at the table having a birthday. She never asked anyone else if they'd like dessert, never asked about coffee or after dinner drinks. Nothing. In fact, she never asked if we were done or would like the check. She just disappeared.
After nearly 30 minutes we finally flagged down the manager to get our check. It's obvious what you are playing for here is the view. Worth the $30+ per person? Only you can decide. We won't be returning.
The only thing good about this restaurant was the view. The food was absolutely the worst I have ever had. I don't know what happened to this
place, but as a kid it was quite a treat to go there.
Great views can't make up for so so food. Overpriced. very basic menu.
Located on a bluff the Sunbird has the best view, for a resturant, in town. The food is spectacular and the service is splened. They also have a large back patio with gas fire pits and a gazebo looking out over Colorado Springs. I propsed their last Valentines Day and got married in April. Bring a wad of cash though because it is expensive but to those with lovers you can't put a price on love now can you.
Spectacular location. Food was good, service was fast, the menu is not extremely long but has something for everyone. It's just a bit on the expensive side.
