Two stars for what I remember this place being (ten years ago). Minus three for grossness.
My parents used to take me here when I was in high school, and Dad would always get an authentic stein full of beer, and we'd all eat the fried ravioli and laugh the night away. Unfortunately, that was ten years ago, and the deliciousness that was present then did not transcend time.
The waiter looked really confused when our crowd came in for dinner. He sat the 10 of us, and brought out drinks fast enough.... But the food was a different story. The Grub Fries were supposed to be crunchy french fries with bacon, cheddar, and sour cream. They were actually really soggy and BLACK. The fries were BLACK. My friend sent them back once due to their unnatural coloring, and we were brought out a plate of black fries again. Another friend ordered some fruit to go with her meal, and the waiter looked at her like she was an alien. So she got sloppy peaches straight out of a can. This can must have sat on the shelf for the past 10 years, because she almost barfed at the table. She made the waiter taste the peaches, and he asked "Are peaches supposed to be spicy?" Ew.
So, i guess I should say two stars for the waiter being a good sport and putting up with our fully developed adult taste buds. I won't be going back here at my 20th reunion, that's for sure.
