148 reviews for The St. Regis San Francisco
Amazing room. Giant soaking tub in middle of room. Two flat panel tvs. Everything in room on touch screen remote - no need to lift more than a finger to control environment. Rain shower with two giant showerheads.
Totally worth the price when you can get a room with a view - as another reviewer said - gorgeous at night!
We have stayed at this hotel a dozen of times. The decor is modern elegance, somewhat minimalist but you have what you need so it's perfect. AWESOME bed! It's nice to have room controls for everything-curtains, butler service, room service, lighting, all with a touch of the button!
Try to get one of the corner suites with a view of downtown SF, beautiful at night! Go ahead, ask for an upgrade, if you're a platinum guest they almost always will upgrade you.
They have yummy chocolate dessert that they will have waiting for you if you're celebrating a special occasion.
Swimming pool is somewhat on the smaller side, but it's downtown SF, so what do you expect?
Fitness center is adequate, fresh apples is a nice touch (great for a late night snack).
Tip on parking--there are tons of neighboring parking garages (just a block away for 50% less). Some do it to save money, we do it because we're paranoid about our car. :) The valet people, however, are always very cordial and sweet. For $50/day they charge for parking, they better be. ha ha
There were a series of unpleasant experiences at this hotel that left me extremely unhappy with the service at St. Regis San Francisco and hesitant to stay at a St. Regis again. I go to San Francisco very often and stay at 4 or 5 star hotels. My experience at St. Regis was by far the worst. 1. First of all, I was led to believe from the St. Regis San Francisco website and from confirmation emails listing what amenities I could enjoy during my stay that the swimming pool would be open 24 hours. At 10:30 PM, I went to the pool and it was closed. I went down to the front desk and the receptionist told me that it was closed just for that day for scheduled maintenance. However, since my room was right next to the pool, I went and checked out the pool again and heard a lot of screaming noises in the pool. I peeked through the cracks and saw a couple families with kids in the pool for what looked to me like a pool party. I was a little surprised that the receptionist would tell me that there was maintenance because I would have understood if they had just said it was reserved for a pool party. So I thought I would just wait until midnight or so to go back to the pool when the kids were gone. At midnight, I went back and there were no kids but the door was still locked. I went back to the lobby and talked to the new receptionists there who called out a security guard while I was talking - they told me that they implemented new rules where the pool would be closed from 10 pm to 6 am on weekends. I asked - new rules as in implemented THIS WEEKEND? and they replies, "yes. this weekend" If that was the case, I don't know why the first receptionist would tell me that there was MAINTENANCE, and even more confused as to why there was a pool party at 10:30. I definitely did not appreciate being lied to.
2. I had called in for a 9 oclock wake up call. The "butler" asked if I wanted another one 15 minutes later - which I agreed to. So for the first wake up call, I picked up and talked to the butler. 15 minutes, the phone rang again and I picked up the phone but it continued ringing. I ran around trying to pick up all 3 phones in the room but none of them work. So I just forgot about it and started changing and getting ready. About 10 minutes later, a security guard comes into my room without knocking while I was changing - and quickly excused himself saying that I hadn't picked up the phone. This was a very embarrassing situation for me and I also did not appreciate that happening.
3. From the website, i understood that there was a 3 mile radius for the car service. Planning around this, I made a reservation for a restaurant about 2.5 miles away. When I asked for the car service, they said they only went within 2 miles. I showed them on my smart phone where it said on the website that they could go 3 miles, and then asked if it was at all possible to go .5 miles more, and they flatly refused.
4. When I called the "butler" service, I asked to be connected to the valet people outside and I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. I hung up and called the front desk to see if they could help instead. The same person picked up that had picked up the "butler" call and he said "oh sorry I forgot" and connected me to the valet outside then. WHICH leads me to believe that there is no separate butler whatsoever.
After I got home, I called St. Regis San Francisco and requested to speak to a manager. I was sent to his voicemail so I left a very detailed voicemail about what had happened. He emailed me back the next day asking for my phone number and promising to call by the end of the week. He ended up calling me on a Saturday morning explaining that they had implemented a new rule for the pool because of inappropriate activity that was happening on the weekend. And explaining what was wrong with the phone systems and what they were trying to work on in some rooms that had faulty phone systems. He offered that the next time I stay at the St. Regis San Francisco I would get a free upgrade to a suite. I do admit that a suite would be nice because our standard room had great modern elegant decor, a fantastic bathroom, and the most comfortable bed ever. But honestly, I am very hesitant to even pay the $300 for a standard room at this hotel again. I've had better service and have been treated with more respect from the staff (security and receptionists both) at the Holiday Inn.
Although I live in SF, I like to come here sometimes, just to see the lobby and to experience the upscale, yet wonderfully comfortable feeling. The interior is perfectly done. Sometimes, I like to get a drink at the bar before going to the museum or a show. I absolutely love the chandeliers in the lobby. The staff is very attentive. I once came here for breakfast and was amazed at how great the view was. Service was very attentive. It would be very indulgent to get a room here and just stay overnight one of these nights. Just to get room service and experience the wonderful atmosphere full on. One of these days... and nights....
What a wonderful weekend.
PROS: decor, staff, accommodations, complimentary services, food
This is bar none my favorite hotel in San Francisco. It has some of the most beautiful decor of any hotel I've been to anywhere (and I've been to a lot of them!). The lobby has this very cool fire and the bar is fantastic (with wonderfully nice bartenders). The rooms and service are nothing short of fantastic. The location is great - right in the middle of it all, convenient to almost everywhere. If you ever get the chance, you should stay here!
I was at this hotel bar last night, after a nice meal at the Four Seasons' restaurant with my buddy. This was the third time I had a drink at this bar. My buddy got me a Long Island Ice-tea. It tasted more like watered down lemonade. I don't remember ordering a virgin LII. It tasted like there was no alcohol in the drink. Another disappointment. The decor is not bad and the service was good.
I know it's odd. I live in the city and yet have stayed here as a weekend "get away". The place is just absolutely stunning! They have a large soaking tub in the restroom with a TV! The rooms had an automatic blinds/curtain controller next to the bed, and a touch screen panel to put on your "Do not disturbs" and "Please clean the room". I have yet to try their bath butler service. The hotel even has a extensive CD and DVD movie library, which they let you borrow for free and use in your room. Just call the "Butler" and they'll provide this to you.
I absolutely enjoyed their indoor swimming pool. The pool is completely empty since all the tourists are outside sightseeing. We had the pool to ourselves for about two hours. And PS, kids are not allowed in the pool without adult supervision, a PLUS!
The people that work there are very attentive, nice, and even remember your name (it's crazy!). Went to the bar there every night and had fun with the bartenders. The people at the bar and in the lounge area are very interesting, so if you're a people watcher, this is the place to go to.
The hotel is also conveniently located next to bus stops and Union Square, so a great hotel for tourists. If you stay here and want to try a good brunch restaurant, go to Cafe de la Presse right in Union Square,
All-in-all I had a very enjoyable weekend here. To say the least, I'd definitely go back.
So I'm down here in SF for business the last 3 nights, and I will have to say ,this is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. Well, its the most expensive one , so it should be. Like $400 a night! This is just one of their standard rooms. Too bad I actually have to go do work stuff and don't actually get to wallow in all this luxury! And I'm all by myself, not nearly as fun....The whole place is like a palace, lobby to the restaurants. This is mos def a place to enjoy if you aren't the one paying.
Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway from the kids. Talk about pampering. We've stayed in some nice hotels before (Four Seaons, Ritz, Grand Wailea, etc), but this place was definitely top shelf. The exercise room and indoor pool are open 24 hours. There is a "butler" service to cater to your every need (also 24/7). The technology in the room is unreal, with a central control panel bedside. It controls everything from DND status to electrically close or open shutters/blinds. They also assign your room a direct dial phone line and print you a business card to distribute (if you wanted anyone to bug you during your stay). If the 40" Flat screen in the bedroom doesn't do it for you, maybe the flat screen in the bathroom will come in handy while you soak in the deep seat tub. I'm a clean freak/germaphobe, so cleanliness is at the top of my list... they did not disappoint!
Centrally located downtown w/ UnionSquare shopping just a brisk walk away. At night, they offer a car service that I've seen described as a "Bently" service that will take you anywhere you need to get to. Well, even though it's not a Bently... I think that I would be willing to settle for the Audi S8 that they use!
Staff is extremely courteous and they actually look for ways to make you comfortable. With the exception of the German chick that checked us in, everyone was very nice! I don't blame her though, I think that it was just a cultural thing. I think that she was JOJ. Anyhow, I certainly plan to return in the future!
The St. Regis excels at great customer service, ambiance and decor. From a drink at the bar, to dinner at Ame, to a massage at the spa and the layout of the suites, this hotel is stellar.
I highly recommend spending a bit more to stay here. Upgrade to a suite and request a corner room. The views are wonderful over Yerba Buena Gardens and the MOMA rooftop.
Stayed here over the weekend based on what others said, specifically the person that compared it to the Park Hyatt Tokyo. But that person could not possibly have ever been to Shinjuku.
The staff was certainly nice. But being nice is different than being competent. And asking their concierge for recommendations is a bit like asking Ray Charles to paint your house.
Rooms were good sized, well appointed and maintained. But I wont be back. Service is everything if you want to be compared to hotels in Asia.
Niiiiice! We're SPG Plat and frequent travelers, but this hotel - in its design, service and coolness still impressed us! It's pricey, of course, but if you can get a deal (like we did by redeeming SPG's free weekend night and then getting upgraded to an Astor Suite for being Plat) it's quite an experience.
All the at-your-touch buttons for everything from lights to curtains was cool! The butler service and the clean design of the furniture as well were unique and comforting.
We took some help from our "butler" to draw the bath and she did a nice careful job of adding the bubbles, getting the water temperature right and even dropping in a loofah.
The location was good, close to everything and with lots of places within walking distance.
At first, their parking seems exceptionally pricey, but all the 24-hour area garages are bad! We landed a place in the Paramount building (across the street from the back of the hotel) for somewhat lesser.
This review is solely based on the lobby bar.
I've been here several times and enjoyed myself thoroughly. The bar has a beautiful, yet unpretentious ambiance. The bartenders are friendly, though their mixed drinks err on the weak side. Stick with the cabernet and feel swanky and sophisticated as you sip your $14 libation. Yes, upscale decor and extravagence aren't cheap, so if your budget is meager or you're just a cheapskate like me who thinks that no single drink should be $14 as a matter of principle, keep it to one round, as the tab here adds up fast.

If you don't like feeling cramped avoid the Grande Deluxe corner rooms which are small and nondescript with average bathrooms. Nothing grand or deluxe about 'em, no matter how high the floor. In 2010, you look right into an office building, quite a "special" view. There are, however, plenty of lovely grande deluxe rooms...at other locations on the same floor.
When you are being charged over $350 a night (before taxes) on a weekend (when rates are traditionally lower), why wouldn't your room be large with a spacious bathroom? That said, when I objected to my first room, the hotel changed it immediately.
The staff at St. Regis remains impressively welcoming, plus this hotel offer a full array of amenities including a spa and fine dining. Their breakfast room is Vitrine, a lovely, elegant space with reasonable prices for a typical breakfast. Aside from my initial disappointment, my 3-day stay (in the new room) went smoothly.

There is no hotel I have visited that compares with the over-the-top attentiveness and amenities… Read more »
The boy and I don't have a good track record for Valentines Day. (ahem, see my review of the Cakery in Burlingame) Like most men, and a lot of women, he feels Valentine's Day was invented to make people feel guilty and force romance into their practical and logical lives. And yes, we love each other every other day of the year, but isn't it fun to do a little something different? a little out of the ordinary?
I've come to accept that the boy is not one for grand gestures (other than my birthday, when I demand it) but is more of the little everyday things that count kind of guy: the kiss when he drops me off from the bart station, holding my hand when I drag him to watch torture porn, picking me up at Harringtons when I'm drunk from after work happy hour (and driving my co-worker home). This year, the boy surprised me with a stay at the St. Regis for Valentine's Day.
Oh my gosh! Not that I don't love my flat in the Mission, but this was completely unexpected and absolutely heavenly. I've walked past this hotel millions of times and I've always wanted to stay here. It was a fantastic gift. I'd mentioned that I wanted to stay here once or twice before, and he remembered! and he planned and made reservations! Honestly, he could have made reservations for dinner at Chevy's and I would have been excited. Sometimes, it really is the thought that counts. But combine the thought, with the St. Regis, and we've got a solid romantic WIN
The room was beautiful, clean and modern. We had a corner Grand Deluxe, which didn't feel cramped at all. The room featured city views, w/ a SW placement above the SFMOMA and Yerba Buena Gardens. I've lived in SF for 10 years, and the view of the museum from above was a fantastic way to see the city from a different vantage point.
The bathroom was on the small side, but the tub that opened into the room was a treat; how often does one have city lights illuminating your bath? The Remede amenities were a nice touch; I wouldn't expect anything less.
The service of course was helpful and prompt. Hey, it's the St Regis! A bottle of champagne was brought to us by our "butler" and a small box of truffles, gratis. I'm not sure if this is a regular occurrence, or a Valentines special.
We did not eat at Ame, maybe next time. I had already made dinner reservations for the Moss Room (hey, I deliver on my end too!). We did see a couple ordering dinner at the pool. which is next on my to-do list.
This was a wonderful, romantic experience. Thank you St. Regis and THANK YOU to my boy for a perfect Valentine's Day. This means I have to step up to the plate, which means seeing both Watchmen and Wolverine movies, ideally on IMAX.
I must give this hotel a 3 star overall due to the rudeness and how stuck up the hotel staff is. I had very very high expectations of how I would be treated especially being a SPG member. The rooms are very nice and that of a 5 star hotel. However the staff if that the resembles a Holiday Inn Express. My room had a water bug in the bed upon checking in and I called and asked to be moved. I was told all they had was a larger room but was smoking. I am a non smoker but just had to deal with it. My guest even commented and asked if I had taken up smoking as the coughed. I stayed 2 nights and was not offered to be moved to a non smoking room the next day. Just over I had the highest expectations of the hotel and was very unimpressed with the attitude of the staff. They have a beautiful property but do not have staff to go along with it. A good manager could clean that up and it could be a perfect hotel!
We were heading out to see Beer Wars last night (if you haven't heard of this social media film sensation, definitely look into it, http://www.beerwarsmov...).
Although we shoulda been drinking pints of craft beer, we were craving the St. Regis Lobby Bar's "Sweet Heat" cocktail. Tres disappointment. They changed the recipe on us!! it's no longer served "martini" style, instead they now serve it on the rocks like a margarita. It was still an okay drink, but when you are expecting a martini style drink and it doesn't come that way... kind of a shock.
We ordered two orders of their fabulous frites, the tuna tartar appetizer and the salad with Burrata cheese (as a side note, how unattractive of a cheese is Burrata? yikes, looks like someone regurgitated cottage cheese all over the greens.... but tastes good so what else can I say?!?!)
I was not happy about the fact that I had to ask for ketchup and mustard three times before they finally brought it.... by then our frites were cold -- don't worry we couldn't resist waiting and ate the majority of those frites w/out dressing and the reality is, it was fine... BUT come on, it's sort of the principle right? Might I recommend they serve the dish automatically with a side of blue cheese/ranch dressing as my favorite joint in Danville, Sideboard, does. See http://www.yelp.com/bi... for reference.
I truly hope this is not a sign that things are a changing over at the St. Regis. In light of the TETs, we would expect that if you are paying "St. Regis" prices, service would be pretty solid.

What a gem of a place. Please note I came her on the day before the Thanksgiving holiday, so it was… Read more »
Only stayed here for one night as a wedding gift from one of our family friends (wedding night!) and boy was this place kick-a*%. The service was exceptional here (just like other starwood hotels) and the decor was soothing to the eye. Although we only stayed for approximately 10 hours, it was awesome. Security was also excellent as we put them to the test (not going to get into details...we had a fun wedding). You'd think they'd treat you like a kid (since we looked like kids) but they didn't...and I love that!
My stay at St. Regis was FABULOUS!
We booked a one night stay - our last night in the city. Service was impeccable. Almost everyone in the hotel that helped us remembered our names. I got a free upgrade to the 16th floor facing Yerba Buena park because my ATT iPhone does not work on the other side of the hotel, facing some roof of the next building. SWEET! After our bell man brought us our bags, he gave us a grand tour of the room and showed us how to use the touch-screen panel that controls everything from the room phone to lighting to room service to whether you want your drapes up or down. AND you can always call your "butler" if you are feeling lost and needs some pampering.
The pool is open 24 hours so we took a late night dip like we owned the place. I went to Lush earlier in the day and bought 3 of those bath fizzle balls and the bathtub fitted the 2 of us - a 6'1 tall white guy and me, little 5'1 asian girl. Oh yeah, the separate shower stall with the rain shower head was really nice too. We both got the "O" face as the gush of warm water falls on our heads.
I stayed at zillions of hotels before and St.Regis is on the top of my list. it's a bit pricey but to live in luxury for just one day, it's totally worth it.
One of the best hotel bars in SF. Big props to whoever maintains the beer list; it's refreshing to have a diverse selection of worldly brews (other than the cookie cutter list of heineken, chimay, and anything by the Bud Family)
This is absolutely the most wonderful building in an amazing location. The suites are beautiful, I just had a lovely time during my stay here. I also enjoyed the fact that your butler stays the same throughout your stay so you get to know them. This St. Regis is a big step up from the one in Monarch Beach. This has to be the best Starwood hotel in San Francisco, let alone the Bay Area all together.
Lovely. Absolutely lovely.
I took at least three pictures in the lobby because I want my home to look like it does. Elegant, modern yet classic, fresh.
Perfection comes at a price though, and I only got to stay on someone else's dime. If my dime was large enough though, I would certainly stay here again. In the meantime I'll just hang around the lobby bar and cozy up by the fire place.
The staff is friendly, helpful and professional; the rooms are beautiful and it's a great location. I love the panels in the rooms where you can control everything without having to drag your lazy butt out of bed, although a fight over the blinds may ensue if you're with someone else who is wanting to be even lazier.
A definite if you can swing the tab.
Five stars!!
The hubby and I like to "get away" here once in awhile for a romantic escape from... our flat in the Marina. Yeah whatever, they have room service, great views, super comfortable beds with Frette linens and bathrooms with soaking tubs and rain showers and legendary customer service. They also have my favorite feature: blackout curtains that you can control from your bedside! Let's add it up...butler service, room service, super comfort at every turn. Yes I would like to run away here any time I get the chance. If you are so inclined they will even let your pet stay with you and I hear they will walk little fluffy at o'dark thirty so you can sleep in (haven't tested that theory myself because we put our baby in Wag Hotel when we are escaping here).
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. One of my favorites.
beautiful building, but they ran over my daughters dress with the luggage cart and the manager wont call us back. we ordered a crib for our 2 year old we had to call at midnight and wait for it. what can i say other than beautiful building and a bit lax service.
ok the manager called us and made it right, add a star.
I had a fantastic time at the St. Regis. Right from the lobby the decor is elegant and classy you get a feel of calm when you get in. The fireplace makes it even more beautiful and adds a romantic feel to it.
Location-very accessible to public transport if you intend to see the city, and walking distance to shopping areas.
Service was great, polite and helpful except for one of them who was not very helpful on our asking for help on touring the area. Also their recomendation of the guided bus tours one "pacific city tours" did not meet our expectations.
We did spend a couple of hours at the bar by the fireplace and got some drinks which were ok. The setting and design is beautiful and again CALM.
They do have complimentary rides when going out in the evenings on a first come first serve basis. We were pretty luck on one night we got a ride in a bentley to our restaurant(though the driver took a an uncalled for detour to show us more of Frisco since we were visiting town).
Our room was very nice and spacious and do have fond memories of this room woo hoo!
Have you ever walked into a place and it just felt right to be there?
The first time I stepped foot into The St. Regis, I felt like I was walking into a fairytale story.
Recently, I had my dream wedding at The St. Regis on 08-08-08. It was quite spectacular! The ambiance, service and people were marvelous! They treated me, my family, my guests and all my vendors with the utmost respect.
The staff were incredibly nice and professional and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel is the epitome of elegance, glamour, sophistication and luxury.
My husband and I absolutely loved the panoramic views, the location, the food and the layout of the hotel.
The St. Regis is simply the best. Everything of luxury you can think of, The St. Regis has. I am so very blessed to have found this perfect place, not just for my wedding, but for future events, get-togethers or maybe even a reunion.
I LOVE this place. I feel like a "princesse" everytime I step foot into the door.
The fireplace is to die for! The bar is glam, the concierge is wonderful and the environment itself is simply breath-taking.
This place is definitely a DIAMOND HOTEL all the way!
Although I came to the St. Regis for an event and did not stay, the glimpses that I caught of the room and suite were enough to make me wish I had the pocketbook for a week long stay.
Other than the rooms, the concierge service was amazing. Whenever I needed to organize anything, make reservations, cancel reservations, or store random things - they were friendly, professional, and handled things with ease.
According to the guests that were staying at the hotel, the ice bucket is always filled and clean towels always manage to find their way into the room, even if you've left for a few hours.
The only minor complaint would be the room service food, which is decent but rather excessively pricey. I'd recommend going to a restaurant nearby (after all, it's San Francisco - food abounds) rather than eating food in your room...unless you have to.
For a swanky event or just to treat someone extra special - this is the hotel to book.
*bar review only*
"are you on a blind date?"
...asks the lobby lady. obviously, my ping pong eyes surveying the lush interior was not incognito. remind me to never be a spy.
"no, just blind. thanks," i replied.
my friends were madly waving their arms at me for five long mins before i finally spotted them - they were seated directly in front of my view.
well spaced bar seats. check
low comfy seats to get cozy with a honey. check
hot and attentive bartenders. check
free yummy japanese treats. check
perfect balance of stoli to cranberry juice. check
5 checks = 5 stars
all and all, a nice interior and setting for a chic rendez vous.
i'm still a hipper xyz girl but i'll come here to glam it up.
A hotel has many parts, no?
If there's a midday business meeting, awards ceremony, motivational seminar, aptitude test, bar mitzvah party, product demonstration, or chicken pageant in one of the ballrooms, go, just go. It's worth it just for the spread they lay out. The coffee is good, tea comes in little wire strainers, eggs are fluffy, the bathrooms have an attendant and a wicker basket you can throw your hand towels in, and even the grapefruit juice is fresh. The conference rooms are clean, light, and stylishly dignified, with good seats and A/V. Plus you can stuff your pockets full of pens and danishes on the way out to justify the admission price.
The St. Regis San Francisco is a great venue to have a company event. I recently planned an executive off-site here. The sales person I worked with, Winne, was amazing! She worked with me in getting my event within budget. The banquet staff was stellar! They were attentive and helped my event go smoothly.
Needless to say, I will be going back to the St. Regis for our next company event. If you are an event planner for your office, I highly recommend the St. Regis. They will make you look like an event planner extraordinaire!
I love everything about this hotel....the cleanliness, the rooms, the staff, the location, even down to the touch-screen curtain/blinds controller. I live in SF, but when my friends come into town, we stay there because we love it so much. Definitely on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.
Very nice hotel in San Francisco, check out the cool bar with the flame sculpture! But, still prefer the St. Francis
Beautiful hotel, great rooms (at least the suites are nice), and good vibe in the lobby bar.
If you have the opportunity to stay here (for work or pleasure) I recommend you do so.
I'm mainly reviewing thier "room service" because my sister and my brother-in-law lives in the other side - the residence side.
Going to this place to hang-out and or babysit my pregnant sis is like a whole new world. The past couple of times, we've ordered room service because we were all too lazy to cook. We've ordered dinner - which was superb!
More recently, we've ordered breakfast. I had the French toast and the boy had blueberry pancakes. My French toast came with some amazing vanilla cream and trying to lose weight, I opted not to touch it. However, the boy tasted it and soon enough, he started dipping his fresh blueberries in the cream and he was just in heaven. We also ordered a mocha for me...and a soy latte for the boy.
Overall, the food was amazing. Even better was their room service! They set-up the food for you and the whole deal. I have yet to experience the hotel side or even their bar downstairs, but I don't think I'll need to do that anytime soon. It helps that my sis is just up there. =)
Great new years eve crash pad. Loved the late night (early morning) cheeseburger and very attentive staff. The touch screen phone/remote was a nice technological touch, even though trying to turning it off was a bit complicated...
I've only come here for drinks and spa treatments, so this is not a review on the "hotel" experience per se.
That said, if you're in the mood for a few quick drinks in an elegant, modern, upscale place in SoMA, St. Regis would rank high on your short list.
Their spa is super relaxing, too. I love how the pool is practically deserted during the day. You can have lunch sent to the poolside, lounge around, and sip cocktails in complete privacy. The place is always tidy, clean, and comfortable. Soothing to just think about it!
I worked at the St. Regis for one of our company's quarterly sales meetings.
Inside the rooms they have the coolest wide-screen flat panel TV, a touch screen LCD by the bed that allows you to control the curtains, lights, call for butler service and the bathrooms are feature both a shower and a tub.
Our meals were catered by the hotel, and the waiting staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was fabulous, I had a lunch of short ribs and monk-fish. Both were extremely tasty.
We were able to call the staff on the smallest of details. One night we requested the butler bring up toothpaste for 2 people. They butler service came up with 2 packets of toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash. I was in awe. Another of our coworkers was chauffeured in the hotel's Bentley that she thought was a great treat.
It really did seem that our high expectations were easily met by St. Regis, and they even managed to surprise us by exceeding those same expectations quite consistently.
Overnight valet parking is about 50 bucks a night
Headed over to the St. Regis lobby bar for drinks after having drinks at the MOMA for the BMW/Sunset Magazine party.
I have been eying this place for some time and I am glad we popped in for a drink. The place is well appointed and nicely situated in the lobby of this high-rise hotel/residence complex. The high ceilings and the modern earth toned decor puts you at ease right away.
The drinks are more expensive than say the Redwood Room, but the price difference is worth it just to be able to make it up to the bar.
The service is friendly if not prompt, but not off putting. Sit next to the fireplace if you can (i would love to have one of those in my place) and avoid the long modern stiff banks of couches - they are not comfortable at all. Try one of the over-sized upholstered chairs.
Minus one star for the uncomfortable couch.
