We had our wedding at Spinnaker on October 17 and the Spinnaker team definitely made our dream wedding come true.

My husband's family came from Minnesota so we really wanted a location that would reflect California and would impress our guests with views of the Bay and the City.  Spinnaker definitely achieved both those goals ... and even more surprising was the fabulous feedback we received from our SF guests as well.

We reserved Spinnaker in January just weeks after getting engaged.  During the summer and fall months, this place books up fast so make sure you contact them well in advance.

From our first sit down meeting with Julie Bartone (the banquet manager) we knew Spinnaker was the place.  Julie is just nothing short of FABULOUS.  She is so on top of it I have nicknamed her Julie "busts her butt" Bartone.

Over the next several months, she was incredibly responsive to every question, every phone call, every email.  She is incredibly organized and anticipates your questions before you can even ask them.  We looked at over 10 different reception venues and no other Banquet Manager compared to Julie.

A few months before the wedding we sat down with Julie for a private tasting.  Other venues will make you do a group tasting with other brides and grooms on a set date, but Spinnaker was flexible and even let my parents tag along (well, they were paying for it!).

On the big day, we selected 5 hors d'oeuvres -
Petite Crab Cakes with Remoulade Sauce
Rock Shrimp Corn Fritters with Chipotle Crème Fraiche
New York Strip Beef Skewers with Peanut Satay
La Bruschetta with Roma Tomatoes
Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus

As the bride, I was a bit sad I wouldn't get to try any, but when we arrived, Julie had saved us a huge platter for the bridal party!  I can attest to the fact that they were delicious.

For our sit down entrees we did Filet with Sauteed Shrimp or Chicken in a Champagne and Caper sauce.  Both were excellent.

Even though our wedding took place over a month ago, guests are still talking about how fabulous the food was, how delicious the hor' dourves were and how fantastic the drinks were.  But even more so, everyone loved the ambiance.  The view at sunset is so magical, it makes you fall in love all over again.

Having our wedding at Spinnaker was one of the best decisions we could have made because as the bride, you are able to truly relax and HAVE FUN on your day.  I will fully admit, I am a total control freak, but with Julie running the show, I had nothing to worry about.  She was everywhere that day ... behind the bar pouring drinks, in the kitchen plating food, helping plate the cupcakes .... everywhere.

If I could go back and do it all over again, I would! It was one of the best days of my life and I thank the people at Spinnaker for making it go so wonderfully!

Cheers to you Team Spinnaker!

Good food with a great view.

I love visiting the quaint little town of Sausalito, and when I do, this is a nice little restaurant to enjoy some sea food and the views of the Bay area.

The restaurant is built on piers directly over the water.

The salmon filet is very good, with the salmon crisp on the outside and tender and moist.  The spinach is lightly salted and very good.

I've only been here for lunch, and there is usually no wait.

Best view in the SF region.

In Sausalito, just over the Golden Gate, it's a large restaurant, living on it's exquisite position. It's on the water, with an incredible view of the city. It is also above the water, with seals, birds and fish frollicking.

Valet parking for those used to that kind of thing.

The food? A mish mash of lots of styles. An onion soup which was nowhere near an onion, and had strange additions in it. Tasty but weird. Bouillabaise was good but again not classic. Excellent clam chowder and effortful kids menu . But why the nickel and dimeing on kids refills?

Came here for a Saturday afternoon lunch with my mom. Eh, was expecting better.

The view was great, and we had a table right next to the window.

Service was inconsistent. Sometimes our server would be really helpful, polite and talkative, but other times she was in a rush and would just plop our drink or bread down and run off. I noticed the same thing with a few of the tables around us too.

Food was average. I had the Spinnaker Salad, which sounded very tasty on the menu, but when it was prepared it was more like a bunch of lettuce with your Safeway deli-packed seafood salad dropped on top.

My mom had the salmon, which she liked, but the presentation of it was nothing spectacular, either. Basically looked like a normal home cooked meal: Salmon on one side, veggies on the other, and a bit of rice around too.

This place reminds me of The Fisherman's Grotto on Fisherman's Wharf... i went there once, but only by accident, we meant to go to Alioto's and went into the wrong entrance.. oops.

Overall, if i want a nice seafood meal with a view, i'll hop on a cable car instead and head down to Alioto's. Dont have to drive, and get just a nice a view with even better food.

O yea, the valet parking here is nice, but unnecessary (at least when i was there). The parking lot is right in front of the restaurant, anyway.

Wonderful Sunday afternoon lunch with stunning views of the Bay, SF, Angel Island and Belvedere.

Wife had House Salad, Halibut and Bread Pudding for dessert.

I had the Clam Chowder, Salmon and Creme Brulee.

All were winners however the Halibut, Clam Chowder and Bread Pudding took top honors.

My family loves to have Sunday brunch here for family occasions. I love it also for the beautiful view of beautiful Marin county. The food is always done well! I always order the lobster bisque! I have tried numerous dishes and they were all delicious. I can't wait until our next family gathering!

Most of the two / three star reviews are consistent with my experience. View was fantastic. Went downhill from there. Food was good but very average (at best) for the price range.

Crab cakes were decent but a little soggy / oily. French onion soup was some odd tomato / veal base version. Our waitress revealed this in advance but it was still odd. Steaks were pretty good but again not great. Seafood grill platter was uninspired and overall disappointing.

In general the place has the feel of having lived past its prime and is now surviving based on the great view. The menu has far too many options none of which were really inspiring. Gordon Ramsey would say the number of choices indicates a desperate owner or a chef with low confidence.

Enjoyed the meal and the view, glad we went (for the view) but won't return. Suggest you take a ferry to get the view and have dinner, etc. elsewhere.

No issues with service other than the valet driver that nearly ran my son over in the dark parking lot bringing up someone else's car way too fast.. Fortunately my son dove out of the way.

Top of our list. Romantic spots in the Bay Area. Marin in general is magical, Sausalito is one of the great spots in Marin, and the Spin' has to be the best restaurant in Sausalito, great location, great views, we love the food and prices are right...how could it get any better? I know....FREE PARKING!! nuff said, out. The view from Spinnaker is fabulous.....specially on summer night!!!

I'm not from California so any restaurant on the coast is going to make me "oooh" and "ahh" a bit more than anything that can be found in Chicago. Would the same star rating hold true in a land locked urban scene? Probably not. The view really warrants a 3.5 rating and the restaurant 2.5, so 3 stars is a mere compromise.

We met my boyfriend's father here for dinner on a recent trip. He regularly steers out of towners to Sausalito and therefore was very familiar with The Spinnaker. He cautioned us that the appetizer portions were tiny so the three of us doubled up on the bruschetta. I love bruschetta, and this instance was no different.

For my dishes, I enjoyed a cup of velvety butternut squash soup and crab alfredo. The crab alfredo wasn't what I expected at all. The sauce was a tomato cream and the crab was shredded. I was hoping for a true alfredo with lump crab. It was good, but it was a disappointment.

The Spinnaker offers a decent dinner with a better view. The highlight of the meal was watching the sun slowly set in the horizon. Everything else was extremely average.

The view is magnificent.

The food is startlingly mediocre.

The average age of the people here is about 68 (which I actually enjoy).

So if you've got family in from out of town who are pushing 70, with sharp vision and dulled taste buds, this is your place. Otherwise, there's no shortage of better restaurants around.

This place is right out of a John Hughes movie.  80's decor with staff dressed in funky green vests, and lots of retirees milling around.

So, you come in, notice the above, get a chuckle, and then sit down at a window with a great view for a reasonably priced, above average meal.

We were four for dinner there last night and were all impressed with our dishes.  The menu had a large selection of fresh fish and sea food.  Deserts were good as well - bread pudding was the fav with my French cousins less impressed with the Creme Brulee (yes, it's Sausalito, not Paris).

As an aside, the restaurant has free valet parking and the $15 corkage   fee makes bringing your own wine a steal.

If you must go at all, go for the view with out-of-towners. Do not go for the food. Do not go for the service.

The one star I'm giving it is primarily for the service.  I went with my grandmother, she's 86.  She loves the place, mostly because she has good memories of going their with my late grandfather- they used to always take out-of-town guests over there.  The server however was really rude to her, unnecessarily, he just didn't know how to deal with older people I guess- but he really should know how to deal with them as they make up most of the clientele from what I could see.  He was really impatient with her, as she does take a while to decide and always has a lot of questions.  She also asked about whether or not they had a few things on the menu which they used to have and no longer do.  He informed her very rudely that they haven't had it for over 6 years on the menu- was that really needed? I don't think so!

As other reviewers said the food is nothing special, and it's not good value either.  There must be other places with good views to eat at.

Mid-century supper club with panoramic bay views.

Oh yes, the decor is dated, but it's well maintained and who cares that it isn't brand new?  You're there to peer out the floor to ceiling windows and watch the boats sail by while you sip on good drinks and munch on appetizers.  That's what we did and had a marvelous time.

I kept expecting Rock Hudson & Doris Day to walk in, sip martinis and nibble each other's necks.  This place is a great throwback to the way things were.  Great service, 'free' valet parking (just tip well!), tasty food and decent drinks.  Check it out!.

The food, help, and atmosphere equaled the view. We had to wait  a few minutes for our table to be ready and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was friendly and service quick. Once seated,  I started with the mussels in white sauce, and it was superb. Dinner was Salmon for  me and bouillabaise for my husband. We order extra garlic bread. Awesome. My mouth waters as I think about it. No desserts, but we sat and enjoyed the view.  What a perfect experience!

This was a great place to escape to when the heat turns up in Sausalito and the crowds roll in....(as in this weekend with the Avon Breast cancer walk). Awesome views of the whole Bay with the whole backside in glass!

We had a large group wearing walking gear and they were able to seat us promptly with no comment whatsoever on our attire (gotta love places in CA for that)...add in the fact that they have Valet parking (nice valet guys let me park for free)....makes for a relaxing experience amidst chaos

I tried the gourmet burger (well only about a 4th of it before the waiter suddenly lifted my plate from under me).....perhaps its the universe telling me I need to be on a diet!

-- I LOVE the VIEW here.. the only reason I gave it a 3 instead of 4 is the price/value calculation. (deserves a 3.5 at the least)

-- I came here for a surprise bday dinner last night:

-- fried calamari (~$8) is AWESOME, probably the best dish we had here. it's not too crispy, very tender and soft, fresh...  will definitely get this again.

-- SPINNAKER BOUILLABAISSE 21.95
A melange -of fresh seafood including scallops, prawns, clams, mussels and halibut served in a rich tomato-saffron-accented broth accompanied with remoulade sauce. Served with garlic bread.

this is a bit salty, and to be honest, with no starch, I don't see how it's different from just any seafood stew.

-- SPINNAKER PAELLA 21.25
With scallops, prawns, mussels, clams, swordfish, Andouille sausage and saffron risotto

Not the best Paella, but this is a not a Spanish restaurant, this is alright.

-- Tiramisu $6.95 -- pretty good, small piece though. Next time just go to North beach on the drive back through SF.

Overall, the food is avg and above avg (in the case of Calamari and Tiramisu), but the total tab of close to $200 is not that great.

I went to The Spinnaker w/ my Grandparents over 15 yrs ago, and I re-visited it yesterday w/ my hubby.

The only thing that irritated me was the wait... GET RESERVATIONS!  We waited 1 1/2 hrs!

There is a bar w/ seating area to wait, drink and have appetizers

I had a bloody Mary, well2! ahahh, it was really good, flavourful!

Finally was seated, ordered Putanesca salmon, really GOOD!  Capers, butter sauce.  Orzo salad on side, and fresh veggies, delicious!

Tiramisu for dessert, one of the best I've had!!

Sourdough bread super sour, soo good!

The price is decent, especially since the view over looks the bay, and u see the SF skyline, and bay bridge!!  Its fancy, but not toooo fancy.  Casual to dressy wear is fine.

I recommend this for a romantic dinner!!!!

I was invited out to lunch to celebrate a birthday and graduation at The Spinnaker.  It was a beautiful day in the Bay Area on the day before Mother's Day, and when we pulled up to the restaurant, we anticipated that the restaurant would be pretty packed, and it was.

It's located in some prime real estate of Sausalito right on the water, with some gorgeous views of San Francisco as its backdrop.  From our table at the far end of the restaurant, we could see people on their boats sailing the bay.  Now, with million dollar views, I would anticipate that a level of, je ne sa pais, class?  However, when they started playing "We got the beat" by The GoGo's and then "One Love" by Bob Marley as I dined on some sauteed salmon and vegetables kinda ruined it for me.  Come on, 70s and 80s music in a "nicer" restaurant?

When those songs came on, I started thinking of what Gordon Ramsey may say about this place and his "Kitchen Nightmares" show.  It definitely could use some polishing up of the dining area, and some updating.  Food was ok, but nothing super memorable.  Go for the view, but from there, don't anticipate too much. Plan ahead in advance and make reservations, too.

So...I took my date to this restaurant and sat by the window. Beautiful view but the service...man oh man...did it suck. S l o w....
The food wise...I had the a cup of clam chowder and the La Bruschetta. I enjoyed both of those but the SEAFOOD BOUILLABAISSE....not all that.  Just too simple I guess. Sort of like a broth was made and all the seafood was dropped in. Just not impressed...For desert, baby and I had the strawberry sabaglione sundae and a cappuccino for me. SKIP THE COFFEE THERE! Yuck! The dessert was yummy though :).

I was recently invited to dinner her by out-of-towners.  I should say the company for the meal was fantastic, and I appreciate my gracious hosts for having me out to dinner, but a review must be written.  The views were excellent...but that's about all I can say for this restaurant.

Decor = very dated, probably mid 1980's
Food = really bad.  I had a type of ciopinno that was basically steamed seafood w/ plain red tomato sauce poured over it.  Not a hint of salt or any sort of seasoning.  bland on a good day, barely edible to be honest.  The missus had stuffed petrale sole.  It was covered in a vague cream sauce, and the stuffing was more potato than the crab it was advertised as.  Again the absence of salt or seasoning did nothing to improve the experience.  Generous hosts didn't seem to clear their plates either, so I doubt they were thrilled either.

Here's the kicker.  A guest celebrating her birthday at another table was serenaded by an Elvis Impersonator - for 20 minutes.  Picture some big, fat guy, singing elvis songs through a cheap, battery operated PA, completely disrupting the evening.  I mean, any decent restaurant would've intervened.  Talk about poor dinner theater.

Service was a bit pompous, but polite.  He definitely seemed to take himself a bit seriously considering the venue.

One of my earliest memories is coming to the Spinnaker, all dressed up, for special meals with my grandmother. While the adults ordered cocktails, our server concocted a 'handball' for my brother and I - 7up, orange juice and grenadine - so we could feel more grownup. It was a place for special occasions and special guests, where the seafood was consistently good, and the service warm and inviting.

Flash forward 25 years, and I'm crossing the threshold again, with a dear friend and mentor in town for a visit. Everything seems exactly the same, only smaller.  We sit and have drinks in the same lounge, looking out on the rocks I used to climb on after dinner, when we kids got antsy before my parents were finished with their meal.  We take one of the few tables by the window left at 5pm, and our server greets us with the same warm familiarity I remember. In fact, he's made friends at all the tables, so we don't mind waiting a little bit because the attention is so personalized.  That same warm, ultra sourdough bread comes out, with the little pats of salty butter in the same chilled shell-shaped metal dishes. I order bouillabaise, which comes with their otherworldly garlic bread, and she gets the halibut on the chef's menu - perfectly grilled over mushroom risotto with balsamic-glazed tomatoes and mozzarella. Heaven. We use way too much bread to sop up every last bit on our plates in lieu of licking them clean. We watch the sailboats head out for their sunset cruise while I sip my decaf and feel for the the brush of my gram's fingertips on my hand, hear her whisper in my ear. As we leave, we pass a young twenty-something couple on their way in, on an early-relationship date. A new tradition just starting, as mine has come full circle. I hope it never changes.

Over looking at the water, along with the bay bridge in sight and the city was beautiful! It was a full moon as well, so we were able to see the reflection of the moon over the water and made the dinner feel even more romantic.
Our server did an awesome job! The food was great, but found it mediocre. However, the oyster was an excellent choice for our appetizer. I'd come back here for the great view and for the romantic ambiance.

If you asked me 5 years ago, i would have given Spinnaker a solid 5 stars. Now I'm sad to say, they've lost their charm. I used to come watch the boats out the window with my mom, and wait for the ominous pirate ship that sails those harbors. I came back this last weekend and was sadly disappointed. I ordered French Onion Soup to start, and when it arrived, it not only looked like tomato soup but also tasted like tomato soup so i had to ask. I was told without hesitation that yes, it indeed was french onion. Where's the gooey goodness called cheese on top? Or the sourdough or french bread inside? Or even that spicy onion and beef broth taste? It was a reddish-brown bowl of water with slimy serpents which resembled onions. Just gross.
Terrible service, who not only had my order wrong twice, but in addition i had to get on my hands and knees and beg for a refill of water and/or ice tea throughout the whole meal. OK well not on my hands an knees but i would have if i thought it would help.
Seriously now, if you're going to go, I'd say fill up on the bread, because it's really the only thing that's worth the price. ; )

Being quite new in Northern California, I came on the recommendation of a co-worker!  It was a wonderful waterfront view on New Years Day and enjoyed the company I was with.  The waiter was a gem and provided excellent service and wit!  He was a character but I mean that in a really good way!
Started off with oysters on the half shell-mmm mmm good!
We sampled the following:
Fish & Chips
Boullibaise
Paella
They were all quite good and tasty!
I will definetly go back to sample some more of what they have on their menu!

While the view here is absolutely amazing, that's pretty much the best part of this place.  Ok, the free valet parking isn't bad either (although you still have to tip the guy.. so it's not that free...).  I had the Spinnaker cocktail appetizer. It was disgusting. It came in a cream sauce, which the menu did not specify.  I assumed any seafood "cocktail" would come with cocktail sauce. Am i wrong to think that way?  The shrimp was those tiny, baby shrimp that just make you think of seafood fetus or something. Yuck.  I also had the salmon filet salad.  The salmon was ok - certainly not amazing. The salad was drenched in oil which was disgusting and the goat cheese crumbly. Crumbly goat cheese? Is that even possible? I thought goat cheese was supposed to be creamy.

The waiter was eh.  He tried, but he was nothing spectacular.  He took his time coming over to our table for our order.

But, as I said, the view was so gorgeous, it was almost worth it.

The location and waterfront view made this place unique.  We went there for party, the food was better than what I was expecting since it was buffet style.  The beef tenderloin had the perfect pink to it.  There was a boat parade and fireworks during our visit, it was quite romantic looking at the show from the patio.
There is streeting parking, self park and also valet parking available.  Plenty of boutique shops near by, it's great to go there for a weekend stroll.

My husband and his siblings all took their prom dates to the Spinnaker back in the day so he recommended it for lunch. I was in SF for a visit with family and set up a visit with my friend Christina who just moved to Sausalito a few weeks ago. After a day in the parks we headed out to Spinnaker worried that it would be too crowded (because we were seriously starved).

Pleasant surprise - they had a table open as soon as we walked  in.
I ordered a Roy Rogers and she ordered a Shirley Temple ($2.75) (we're really not 13 - I promise). We shared the seafood sampler ($13.75) which included smoked salmon, bay shrimp, jumbo shrimp and an oyster. This was our first time having an oyster - pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture.

For lunch we each ordered a crab club ($15.75) (a cold sandwich with 3 slices of toasted bread) which consisted of a layer of bay shrimp salad and then another layer of crab, with avacado in between. The sandwiches came with skinny crispy fries (which were awesome).

Besides the food being super delicious, the view was breathtaking! We sat right at the windows looking out over the bay, SF, Golden Gate, and the Sausalito ferry dock.

There is no self parking right at the Spinnaker but the Valet was nice and not a hassle. I suppose you could park further away or out on the street (which is not very close) and walk.

Dress was casual for the noon crowd on a weekday. Not sure if dressier clothes are required/suggested for dinner or Sunday brunch.

Pretty nice for my girlfriend's birthday. She had the salmon and I ordered the ribeye. Both cooked to our liking. The prelude to our entrees was a baked brie with roasted garlic and a light salad. Very nice.

The setting was very late '70s upscale-ish old school, non-deteriorated cool. We were seated at a window which provided us a nice, ever-changing view of the SF waterfront and bay on this drizzly evening. Me and my girlfriend's eyes saw the ships come and go, including a massive cruise ship that was detoured because of the Mexican pig flu scare.

There were fancy-dressed teens out for prom dinner sitting in our vicinity, but the space provided sufficient elbow room so as to not disturb each other with our respective talks of grandiosity.

The bill was fair. For my gal and I, with wine and a coca cola, the fare was a hair under 90 bones. Not too bad.

The only nuisance of this place was the valet attendant that almost forcible wants to park you vehicle. Some sort of parking racket they got going...I dropped my girl at the door, turned around and stationed the whip some yards outside "their" lot for free (after 6:30).

Good place to take out-of-towners for good food and great views at a manageable cost.

Check it out.

This place gets 1 star, and I wish I could give it a big fat ZERO. The wait staff is rude; you know the type, career servers and bartenders, who have been doing it most of their lives and hate their jobs and just treat people like crap. One waiter here actually asked me if I wanted my food cooked or cold when I asked about a dish that was taking too long.

I went here with family for a special occasion, we had a huge bill, and were still treated as if we were an annoyance.

Food is so-so. -N.B. you had better have DAMN GOOD service with food like that, and they lack both. Save your money.

I was the luncheon speaker last week for a Marin charitable organization. Having lived in Marin for over 3 decades, I had always wondered what the restaurant would be like inside. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The building juts out on a jetty, and is surrounded on 3 sides by water. It was mesmerising, in the drifty way of a water view. After I gave the talk, I joined the group for lunch. Each of us was served a caesar salad with delicious dressing and croutons, shrimp, and scallops. It was delightful. The lettuce was perfectly fresh and crisp, and the whole effect was just right. We had decadent cookies for dessert, with delicious de-caf coffee. I feel that the price point is merited by the view, and will bring out of town guests there.

To start off a weekend in Wine country with friends, SE and I stopped off here to break up the commute and grab a little lunch on Friday.

The day?  Beautiful...
The moment? Precious...
The company?  Cherished...

The view from the Sausalito waterfront is fantastic on clear summer days; the glimmer of calm bay waters, picturesque coming-and-goings of ships and boats, the San Francisco skyline piercing the horizon in the distance...

Thankfully, we were seated immediately despite our spontaneous arrival and our server, a cheery and boisterous Annie, addressed and treated us with the utmost care and attention, our casual attire notwithstanding.

We dined lightly, considering the drive ahead and our intent on enjoying wine country local fare...

-Oysters on The Half Shell... a dozen smallish, though fresh, raw oysters served up with lemon, saucers of cocktail sauce, minced horseradish, and a small bottle of Tabasco... = just okay.
-Shrimp Louie Salad... a large green salad with a mound of shrimp, garnished with chopped egg, sliced tomatos, green bell pepper, and red onion... = unimpressive.
-Shrimp Wrap... a [wheat?] tortilla stuffed with shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, and cheese, then grilled toasty... = pretty good.

By far, the romantic novelty and atmosphere are the best traits of this restaurant, and Annie's service was outstanding and friendly; when she asked us where we were headed, she'd sweetly hurried us on our way, warning of the pending traffic and how to get around it...

... s'too bad the culinary experience isn't on par.

this is by no means a review on their food.

my friend and I felt cold after finishing huge scoops of ice cream on a windy afternoon, so we hunted down a place for hot tea and landed at The Spinnaker!

definitely NOT cheap, we had 2 cups of black teas + 1 piece of tiramisu (nothing special), and it came out to be around $15.

but the oceanfront view was totally worth it, I imagine having dinner here for a special occasion would be memorable :) would love to return in the future for REAL FOOD!

Beautiful view looking toward San Francisco and the Bay but meh on the food. And what's with the $14.50 minimum per person?

Service wasn't bad for our reserved party of 7. I had the Sunday brunch Egg Spinnaker ($15.50) that consisted of poached eggs with Hollandaise on top of crab cakes with fresh fruit. Do yourself a favor and go to Brenda's French Soul Food in SF instead for better and cheaper brunch.

My cousin had the Fettuccine with crab ($16.95) made with fresh Roma tomato and cream reduction with pine nuts & chives which I had for lunch. A bit too oily for our tastes.

The clam chowder was runny and salty. Not recommended.

For dessert, I had the cafe mocha (hot drink served in glass cup?). The strawberry zabaglione sundae ($7.50) was just too heavy and fattening even for skinny ol' me. The creme brulee ($6.85) was alright but I suggest just going to out to the Bridgeway for much better tasting and value dessert.

Good food.  Great view.  Good service.  The prices were reasonable.  The decor was worn and it looks like the restaurant has seen better days.  However, we had a decent lunch and I would go back again.  The Clam Chowder was the best thing on the menu.

I am so so so sorry, but everything about this place fail's less the view, which is mischevious, as it lures you away from the fact that everything about the place fails.

Like being old... that is what it feels like.  It feels like what it must feel like to be old.

I've been back several times, only during the day. I feel like the view would be wasted at night. The service has always been prompt and friendly and all the food is well priced and delicious, esp. the shrimp sandwich. The last time I ate there, I was seated right next to a huge glass wall right on top of the water and saw seals poking their heads up during the meal. It's in a charming neighborhood, a beautiful and easy drive from SF. The restaurant is low key but elegant, they have valet but have never had trouble parking in the area.

I have been there around 5 times. Each of them was a pleasant experience. I never had any major problem. Service is good enough. I would expect the food to be more creative and food to taste better. View and the amosphere are what this restaurant has to offer. Honestly, in a place like Sausalito, I would expect a little more class from that restaurant, little more elegance. More that reason, I must say prices are unmatching with the quality of food. But again, atmosphere is really nice.
