I bought a Yelp deal for a 60-minute massage for $38 - a great deal, by the way. This spa is right by where I work, tucked away just across from Loehmann's Plaza. They've been there fro 18 years and I never even knew they existed! I'm glad I do now though.
All of the little touches where there during my experience. First, the waiting room had little snacks, hot teas, and even cucumber-mint water. Then you change into a robe and slippers and put your clothes inside a locker that has your name on it. Next, the foot soaking room for about 15 minutes.
My massage left me feeling like my limbs were spaghetti, and it's been years since I had a massage that effective at removing tension. My therapist Jennifer individualized my massage so much that she was able to diagnose my low back pain as originating in my piriformis. I've been getting massages for years and no one has ever been able to tell me that. She hit all the right muscles with the right pressure.
Ultimately, when it comes to massages, you get what you pay for. This place is totally worth it, and with the Yelp Deal, I got way more than I paid for. -

I had a facial appointment with another salon in Sacramento. There was a mixup in the date so I was not able to get my facial. I looked in Yelp and called around and was able to, fortunately, get an appointment for later that day at the Spa Simply Skin. Also there was Yelp offer for 25% off! Score!
Let me say that I am SO glad that my 1st appointment did not work out. I got the Anti Free Radical Facial. It started with an aromatherapy foot bath and the facial was 75 minutes! Nice room, soothing music, and my esthetician, Meredith was great. Would really recommend this spa!!!
Hint: It's a bit hard to find on Fair Oaks Blvd. No large signs in front and the office is tucked away in the back. -

To the point - if you're looking for a good massage place - THIS IS IT.
They give you that "you're special" feeling, start you off with a foot bath, warm salt water - then they have warmed up sheets, SO comfortable you just want to sleep right there. April was our masseuse and aside from her being really pleasant, one of those people that you just want to hug, she has wonder hands. She worked my upper back and neck in that painful but oh so good way, down to my buttocks and legs. She didn't feel rushed like most massage parlors. It felt like it lasted forever.
My gf went in after and she and I came out SO relaxed we didn't want to do anything for the rest of the night -
Price is fair at $75 for a 1hr massage considering the place really makes you relaxed and the treatment is really personalized. We got a Yelp coupon deal so it was far better for us.

I used the yelp deal for 25% discount for a 90 minute massage, cost me $84 and worth every minute. I am impressed with the small details. It started with the offer of water (had cucumbers in it) then asking what size shoe I wear, so when I change into their bathrooms they also have flip flops, waiting for me in a personalized locker, where I can keep the key until I am done. After changing and storing my stuff, they have you move to another room for your foot soak. I have only found one other place that did this (they are not out of business) but I love having my feet soaking before a massage, it helps me relax that much more. Amy, my therapist, greeted me and did a wonderful job, she was able to focus on the areas I asked for and made sure the pressure was just right. I will definitely be coming back again.

I had a great experience both times I've been here. Super pleasant atmosphere, very relaxing and quiet, and I like the key system - means I physically have to leave everything somewhere else - no phone no nothing comes with you except a robe and shoes.
The masseuse was friendly, quiet and did a great job. After the massage she explained how to take stress out of my over data entryed fatigued right hand - aka reducing pain, which was awesome.
Definitely will come back soon. -

Since high school, I have been to a number of massage places to ease my stress. Now in college, my back has gotten a lot worst. I been to high end to small scale spa parlors, but none had me feeling so good like The Spa Simply Skin. They make you feel special with their welcoming smiles, and your own locker for your stuff. Not once have I felt pressured into having to buy any extra services. I was only in there for a little over an hour and fifteen minutes, but I felt so good afterwards. I will definitely come back next time, and recommend them to my family and friends.

This place is simply amazing. They had me at the Numi tea. They carry the BEST products in the cosmetic/treatment industry, which I appreciate. As for the massage I had, it was AMAZING. Jennifer was my massage therapist. She focused on my neck and shoulders (as I requested) and even put a numbing cream on them to alleviate the pain I came in with. The unexpected foot soak (free) was so pleasant and relaxing. I love the quaint, well decorated rooms. All the attention to detail is very obvious in this spa. The staff was warm and attentive and NOT at all pretentious, snobby or rude. The staff was very gracious and did not treat me like crap for utilizing the 25% off discount from yelp. I am already dreaming of getting another massage her.

I'm coming from Las Vegas, spa haven! My expectations are not at that level, but the basics must be met. Decor is tranquil and staff is very caring. I came in for a facial and was not satisfied.
The basic deep cleansing of blackheads failed to meet my satisfaction. I addressed it, but was told that they do not use tools and that extractions were done at the level the esthetician felt comfortable with my skin. Ladies and gents, if you want deep cleansing, this place I do not recommend. If you need hydration for your skin, they do a lovely job.

I received a SpaFinder gift certificate, so I went online to look at the locations near me. I yelped all of them. Yes, I yelped 20+ spas. I decided on Simply Skin because they had solid ratings and had a spa special going on.
A minor blimp I encountered was when I booked the appointment. I wanted to confirm their June spa special deal. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. I was a bit irritated. I read what was online to her and she had to check their website to confirm.
When I arrived, I wasn't sure if I was at the right place because the outside looks like a doctor's office. If you have trouble finding it, they are located next to Loehmann's Plaza on the same side of the street.
Once inside, the receptionist lead me to their small yet comfy lounge where I filled out a form. I was then led to my locker/changing area. The locker was personalized with my name- a nice touch. I had a hard time closing the curtain in the changing area, so I quickly changed into the slippers and robe they provided. I went to another room for a foot soak before my massage therapist took me to one of the private rooms for the Body Express.
Body Express ($115)- A half hour massage and the Body Glow. I don't know how people are able to fall asleep when they get massages because I find them a bit painful, but in a good way. The Body Glow begins with a dry brushing followed with sea salt, which are combined to exfoliate and smooth your skin. Warm towels are used to wipe the sea salt off. It finishes with a body hydrating cream applied to your entire body. (The sea salt and body hydrating cream are both Dermalogica products.) I enjoyed every minute of it! I'm going to try to attempt to do this at home for myself.
Overall I had a great experience here! The services are a bit pricy. I will need to periodically check online to see what deals they are offering, so I can come back. -

Absolutely a great experience. I am glad that I bought the YELP deal. It was a great price $38.00 for a 60 minute massage. I would love to go back. But, since the economy is the way it is and my salary has not changed in two years an hour massage for 75.00 is now out of my price range.

I love this place! They know how to take care of you. My girlfriend and I go when we need to relax. They do not have couples massage but schedule our appointments at the same time. When we arrive they "simply" take care of you. I highly recommend you see Jennifer. She ask questions to see what your needs are. She then makes all the pain and stress melt away with a great massage. Once the massage is over and I'm feeling great! My girlfriend and I are relaxed and done at the same time!!! They do a great job! Thank you simply skin.

Months of working out and about two years without a massage had left my body aching for a massage. So after researching spa's in my area i came across this place and based on the reviews decided to give it a try.
I took advantage of the May special (20% off any treatment) and booked a 1 hour massage. From the moment I walked in I loved the ambiance and the quietness. The receptionist immediately greeted me and took me into the waiting room that is small but very nicely decorated. There was cucumber water, snacks and tea. After filling out all the appropriate paper work i was taken into the back to change and given a locker for my belongs. After changing i went into this small but very relaxing room to relax and soak my feet. I wasn't in there too long before my masseuse showed up so next time i'll come in a bit earlier so i can enjoy this a bit more.
Nadia gave me be the best 1 hour massage! she applied the right amount of pressure and worked on the areas of my back that I had expressed concern over. Everything was wonderful, I was so relaxed i was falling asleep!! I would definitely come again, but may try the raindrop heat stone therapy and a facial. -

As a busy professional and somewhat crazy recreational athlete, I don't get much time to truly relax, and when I do, I come to the Spa Simply Skin. More particularly, I get a facial from Elena. I find the facials a more relaxing experience than most massages. I admit, I have not had any other services here, but the facials are truly fantastic.
Elena evaluates my skin every time I'm in, and she makes superb recommendations on what type of facial would be good for what my skin is doing. Yes, sometimes the peels sting, and sometimes the extractions are painful (of course), but the rest of the experience is fabulous, and my skin always comes out glowing.
I also enjoy the fantastic professional products they sell, and because I've learned to take good care of my skin (thank you, Elena), I really only "need" a facial about every 4-6 months. Of course, because I love it so much, I try to get in every three months, as I said, just to relax.
Elena truly cares about her business, her community and her clients. I always feel welcome and truly, truly relaxed when I leave.

Simply the best. I have been to many day spas and I know class and quality when I see it. Everything about this spa is wonderful. It has a warm classy feeling from the reception to the last wonderful touch of my massage.
Each and every treatment was performed so well and everyone was so friendly. I wish I could spend a day here every week. I know I will be booking another treatment here next month. Thanks for a day of total relaxation. -

Although I parked in the wrong parking lot, and had to move my car for fear of getting towed, and was 15 min late for my appt, the ladies at the spa were very gracious. Upon checking in, I was offered something to drink, led back to a changing area, and given a locker with my name on it (I thought that was very nice)! While waiting for my masseuse, I sat in a quiet, soothing room (aromatherapy, dim lighting, and soft nature sounding music), and was given a warm foot soak. My massage was so amazing!!! It was only the 4th professional massage I've ever had and im a server with 2 jobs, so I'm always on my feet. My masseuse, April, was soooo wonderful!! I felt amazing the days following my massage!!! I'll definitely go back to the spa simply skin :)

Travel and a busy schedule take their toll on my face, and there's only so much my Obagi, Retin-A, and religious sunscreen use can do.
Today, I took advantage of the March special for 50% off microdermabrasion, and I was pleasantly surprised at the warm and inviting atmosphere. I'd driven past Simply Skin countless times over the years and had no idea what to expect.
Meredith took great care of me and evaluated what would work best for my needs. She recommended what I should do as follow-up treatments, and this is one of my first spa experiences where I didn't feel that I was getting some sort of sales pitch -- she was genuinely consultative and non-judgmental with what would work best for me.
I'm eager to purchase the Groupon coming up soon, and I will definitely be back.
The Spa Simply Skin has a partnership with where I get my hair and brows done, Vanity Lounge, and I'm confident in knowing that all my beauty needs can be met with these two phenomenal establishments! -

I came today to enjoy another lovely experience at the spa and I was not disappointed. Super Hubby gave me a wonderful Harmony spa package, and let's just say it lived up to the name! I was greeted by a very friendly and professional staff member when I arrived; the lounge area is very nice and cozy, as is the zen-like area where you rest your feet in an aromatherapy bath.
Amy gave a wonderful massage; I had never experienced the rain drop therapy with hot stone massage. Wow! The essential oils smelled wonderful and were immediately relaxing. I was a little concerned since I suffer from migraines which are triggered by smells, but I had absolutely no negative side effects from the smells. By the end of the treatment, I was very relaxed and subdued (and that is a tall order!).
Next up was the Spa Fitness Facial with Heather. This started off hilariously because the electricity went out. No music, but Heather offered to sing. I'm sure I missed out on something, but we chatted away during the facial. She offered up a glycolic treatment (no charge) to soften the skin since the steamer wasn't available (no electricity). I was a little hesitant because of my super sensitive skin, but am very glad I did it. My face is bright and glowing. Yah! I must go back! Shortly thereafter the electricity came back on.
Both Heather and Amy are super knowledgeable, professional and wonderful to work with.
Afterwards, I enjoyed lunch from Boudin. What a great way to end this session!

Looks are very deceiving and for some particular reason, the building of this spa reminds me of the dentist. With that thought in mind, a bit of anxiety and hesitation arose and I nervously made me way through the halls. Upon entering the salon, I was instantly at ease. The ambiance of it had a calm feng shui balance. The receptionist's greeting felt like a warm breeze gently fluttering against my cheek. I must admit, I melted just a little bit at that moment. I was escorted to the first room in which I was offered hot tea. From there, I was escorted to another room where I had my own locker (with my name on it!) and changed into my robe. From there, I waited in a small, yet wonderfully calm room where I soaked my foot in a warm bath. Lastly, I was finally escorted to my private room for my hour long hot stone massage.
Quite frankly, I would've paid full price just for the transition from one therapeutic room to the other. It was a surreal experience and it felt as if time and space was of no existance. It was......beautiful...... -

I love Simply Skin!
With that being said, I have gone twice now, and each experience has been great. The first time I was definitely nervous because I was going in for my first Brazilian wax ever. I'm pregnant, so my skin gets irritated a little easier, which makes shaving not so much fun! My friend works at the spa and told me about Meredith training on Brazilians for a very low price. I decided this was the time to take advantage. I went in and Meredith was very sweet. Heather was also in the room because it was a training session still, so it was nice to have someone experienced and knowledgeable there when she was needed. Meredith did a good job, but of course since she was in training, she was a little slow, so to make up for lost time, Heather had to step up in the end and finish to be able to get me out of there before their next appt. Because of being pregnant, it hurt A LOT more than I guess it normally does, so they were really good about taking it easy and making me as comfortable as possible in that situation. I will say it was awesome because it lasted for several weeks, but if I ever go back to do that again I will wait until the baby is born, and I will probably look for Heather. Her experience is worth the full price!
My next trip I also had a discount with a gift cert, so I went to see Roshanda for a pregnancy massage. My upper back near my shoulder blades was in a lot of pain from carrying this child and hunching over, and I wasn't able to sleep very well through the night. When I got there, I had the same experience as most of the other yelpers. I was greeted warmly by Monica. She offered snacks and drinks before she led me over to my personalized locker. After I was changed, she led me to the foot soak room, which was one of my favorite parts! After a few minutes of letting my feet soak, Roshanda came and helped me back in to my sandals and led me to the massage room with heated blankets on the bed and a huge, comfy, body pillow for me to cuddle while lying on my side. She did a GREAT job! She asked me about pressure and made sure she got the parts that were ailing me the most. After the massage was over I couldn't thank her enough, and my back actually felt SO much better! I've been able to sleep through the night since (for the most part).
I have another gift cert and I plan on going back to see Roshanda soon for another pregnancy massage before this baby comes out! -

I had a pregnancy massage with Jennifer Cabral-Scott at Spa Simply Skin and she did an amazing job. She was clearly experienced and applied the perfect amount of pressure to coax my muscles into relaxation. One of the best massages I have ever had. Since it was a pregnancy massage, I was on my side propped up by pillows, which worked great and was very comfortable. The lighting, ambiance, and music were just right, and the entire suite was tastefully decorated from the waiting room (with mint-cucumber water) to the personalized lockers to the little foot soak room prior to the massage.

My experience here was nothing less than amazing.
I came in to check this place out and I saw that they had a great Yelp discount! So I booked a Hot Stone massage. I really wanted to relax and I was so relaxed that I even fell asleep for a bit!
When you walk in you're greeted by the front desk employee and she takes you into their lounge to fill out some paperwork. Their lounge has snacks, water, and tea and it's beautifully decorated.
After that you're taken to the changing room. They assign you a little cubby with your name written on there where you can lock up your belongings and a cute little jewelry box! They give you a nice big robe and some sandals.
Once you're done changing you go into this smaller waiting room where you soak your feet in warm aromatic water. The lighting in the room is dim, I was only in there for a little bit less than 5 minutes but it was nice to relax your feet and read some magazines. Your massage therapists also comes in and introduces herself and goes over the initial consultation.
Then the magic happens! You're taken into one of their massage rooms for your service. She knew exactly what to do. My shoulders were pretty tense going in but they were a lot better afterwards. The hot stones were perfect temperature. It all felt so luxurious! I know I dozed off for a bit too... that's how relaxing it was!
The rest of the day was awesome and I had some deep sleep later that night. I can't wait to go back and get more massages!Listed in: Relaxation time!

This place was awesome. The receptionist and massage therapist were friendly and professional. The spa is well appointed and beautifully decorated--no detail is overlooked. I get massages regularly and have to say this was by far the most comfortable massage table I've been on, possibly ever. I left feeling very relaxed and wishing I could stay longer. I will definitely be going back!

AAAAAHHHHH is all I can say. My boyfriend and I bought Yelp deals for $38 massages here, and we went together this morning. The staff members are all so sweet and accommodating, this place is super restful and relaxing, and the massage was wonderful. It's truly a retreat, and I really felt like it was all about me, which is so nice because a lot of times if you have a coupon to do something, the service suffers because of it. I left feeling like a VIP even though I'm someone who usually can't afford such luxuries. I also want to compliment this place on not money-grubbing like other places I've been *cough*massage envy*cough*. When we were leaving, I handed over our Yelp print-outs and the girl at the front desk was like, OK you're all set! I was so taken aback, I actually had to say, wait a minute, I want to leave a tip! I fully believe in tipping on the full value of the service, before the coupon, but they're so sweet they don't try to guilt you into tipping or sell you on future services. My masseuse told me to drink water, and handed me her card saying that if I ever wanted to, she would suggest a deep-tissue massage for me. It might sound silly, but I just find their customer service methods so refreshing. They treated me so well and by not trying to "sell" me, they got me as a fan for life! I might not be able to come here all the time, but when I do want to treat myself, I will do it here. You guys are awesome!

I've had many spa facials, most at very reputable "expensive" salons. Let me just say the spa simply skin tops them all.
I drove into a medical building parking lot..that's how it felt to me. But the moment I walked inside I was greeted with a friendly welcome, by the owner! They did such an excellent job at making you feel relaxed. Right when you walk in, you forget you're in just a building. It has a nice warm home feeling. It's relaxing& inviting. It's so clean! It's not loud & jam packed. You really feel like you're in a ssncuruary. They give you a choice of drinks before you go in. 2 hours later I felt light & carefree after leaving. AMAZING -

After receiving a SpaFinder gift certificate, I researched different spas and decided on Spa Simply Skin based on its reviews here (Yelp). The spa is decorated magnificently and is relaxing within the moment you walk in. I was taken aback by the amount that everyone goes to ensure you are comfortable and felt that I was given very personal attention.
I hadn't had a massage for about a year and am an avid runner and do cross training, so my body gets beat up quite often. I got a deep tissue massage with Jennifer and she completely catered to all of my aches and pains, in addition to giving me advice on stretches I can do at home. I am incredibly impressed with their level of service and will definitely be going back in the near future! -

The massage I had was the best ever. The experience from the beginning to the end was great. The peaceful area where I soaked my feet before my masseuse came and got me was relaxing. This little retreat room was clean, quiet, and decorated in good taste. Amy (masseuse) asked me ahead of time what my needs were. My shoulders, neck, and feet were my primary concerns. She addressed all of that and then some. I could tell she was a caring individual and took her work seriously. Thanks Amy for a wonderful escape and pampering.

Well - I trusted all you Yelpers and you let me down with this one!

haha anyway....so I saw the good reviews Simply got and decided to go check them out. Bad idea.
First, the good.
The spa is pretty.
And that's the end of the good!
Yes, there's snacks available to you...but the treatments are way overpriced (you can get better for less at other spas) so you're the one paying for those snacks. I hope you eat a lot of pretzels cuz it's coming out of your wallet!
The front desk girl that I spoke to was not at all friendly - in fact, she seemed very cold. I also called her for directions, and even though I was directly across the street, she could not tell me where they were located. Eventually, I looked around my surroundings and saw them across the street. Shouldn't the front desk girl know where they are?
Ok, but all these things are not what got them 1 star. Actually, if I could, i'd give them negative stars. Here's my ordeal:
I went to see HEATHER for a cheek wax. I have light fuzz on my cheeks and regularly get it waxed. I've been having that area waxed for about 8 years now and have always been happy with the results. So anyway, Heather comes to the little room to get me, doesn't introduce herself ( i had to ask if she was Heather) and leads me to her very cramped room. The bed was comfortable, and it smelled nice in there.
She waxed both cheeks and - this is the kicker - she ripped off a 2 inch strip of skin on my right cheek! It hurt like hell - especially when I walked out to my car and the wind brushed against my raw cheek. It's literally RAW. she waxed the skin right off! This was 3 days ago, and now I have a large scab displayed prominently on my cheek.
In 8 years, this has NEVER happened before! I'm not even sure Heather has her waxing license, since it wasn't displayed anywhere in her room. My cheek is very painful and the large scab is incredibly embrassing.
BEWARE of this spa! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!

Heather was awesome! I had my first brazilian and she made me feel extremely comfortable! Also the spa is clean, proffesional, and friendly. I will go back for sure!

This is an amazing spa! Elena has created an excellent and professional, yet relaxing atmosphere. I went a while ago with the groupon they had to check it out. I was skeptical at the beginning because a couple of my previous groupon experiences (at other spas) were less than appealing, but I was blown away with Simply Skin. They were all very kind and made me extremely comfortable, which isn't easy when you're about to get a brazilian wax. I came back again and was extremely happy with the service even though I totally messed up and forgot my wallet and freaked out. She does an excellent job with waxing--definitely the best place I have been to for waxing and I've been to numerous places on the east coast and a few on the west coast, but this place blew them all away! I highly recommend this spa to anyone.

What they said.
Even after reading the reviews, I was stunned by the attention to detail (your first name is on your locker, the bathrobe inside is warm), the extras (free tea and delicious cucumber-mint water, divine warm foot soak), and the sheer luscious beauty of this place (little fountains, velvet drapes, candles burning). The massage was great too. For the same price as other places you get so much more!
WARNING: I had a 60-minute massage but the whole thing took more than 1.5 hours. Leave extra time. It's so worth it! -

We took advantage of the yelp check-in discount today and were not disappointed! Thank you Yelp for this recommendation! My husband and I eached enjoyed their signature one hour massage. We found the ambiance and service very relaxing and enjoyable! We were greeted by the receptionist and offered tea and cucumber water. Our experience was very similar to what other reviewers had described - including the aromatherapy foot soak prior to your treatment. We both enjoyed our spa therapists - Amy and Nadia. Although the spa doesn't have a steam room or sauna, it does make up for it with these little touches and super relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

I made an appointment for a massage through their online appt. program. When I arrived and was waiting in their lounge room, I was informed that their was a mix up on my appt and my massage therapist was going to be about 30 minutes late. At first I was a little put off but did not have any obligations for the rest of the day so I figured I'd just read a magazine and wait.
A few minutes later Elena walked in and apologized for the inconvenience and to my surprise offered me a complimentary facial while I waited. She was so warm and friendly. She listened very intently about my skin needs and was able to provide explanations as well as solutions. She gave a wonderful facial and the experience just kept getting better from there. Just as all the others have described...the personalized locker, the foot soak, and then received a great massage from Amy. Everything about my experience today was amazing. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for a relaxing experience Simply Skin. -

I can't say enough good things about this spa. I've been a client for several years and every experience has been great. I primarily come here for waxing by Elena (who is absolutely wonderful...more on that later) but I have also had a facial and a massage. The receptionists are always kind and knowledgeable about the services. The waiting room is stocked with light snacks, citrus water, and teas and the treatment rooms are always very well-maintained and super clean! THIS IS MY FAVORITE SPA IN TOWN.
Elena (the owner of Spa Simply Skin) is one of the kindest people i have ever met. She is thoughtful and makes a genuine effort to connect with her clients and understand their needs. I recommend this spa and Elena to anyone looking to have a pleasant and relaxing experience. -

This is a nice, cozy place for a massage. I've been going here for over 6 years. There's a small waiting room where you can enjoy a cup of tea and a light snack before you change. There's a small changing area and lockers where you can keep your personal belongings. After you've changed, you'll be brought to a second room, where you'll get a nice warm foot soak before your actual treatment. I always go for an hour long, deep tissue massage and add on aromatherapy. Susan is really great, but I don't know if she's still there.
I went a few weeks ago and had a pregnancy massage, which was just okay. I would have liked to have been laying on my belly, but they don't have that special bed with the comfy belly space for pregnant women. For their pregnancy massage I was on my side with the support of the large body pillow. Also, the therapist said they don't do deep tissue for pregnancy massages, and I really needed the deep tissue massage that day. I've been to other spas where they do have that special bed AND do deep tissue upper back massages for pregnant women.
So...I'll continue to go here for my regular massages after my baby's born, but for the next 3 months I'll be getting my prenatal massages elsewhere. -

I love this place! I've been going here since 2005, and have had waxing, facials and massages. The prices are very reasonable. I like how they take the time to ask you what complaints you have, and they will find the service that is best suited for you (i.e., microdermabrasion, chemical peel or a facial). My faves are Elena and Heather, and would highly recommend either one of them.

Fantastic experience here! I would definitely recommend getting a facial with Heather. My skin felt and looked AMAZING after and it was soooooo relaxing. It was actually my first time getting a facial but after describing the process at the Spa Simply Skin to my roommate who has had numerous facials, it was clear that this place goes above and beyond.
