The Sound Library is probably my favorite New York City record store along with The Lab. They have a lot of really great represses and ORIGINALS. They had KMD Black Bastards which was going for a pretty penny, but um, HELLO that's an amazing record to own. It's almost like a museum in there - they layout is great, everything is really clean and sharp. The new space on Orchard Street is much bigger than their space on Ave. A. The guys that work there are really friendly and will help you answer any questions you may have. So get off the internet and go digging!

A DJ's wet dream, and priced accordingly.
Amazingly well organized, encyclopedic collection of hip-hop, soul, funk and jazz.

A lot of records here can be found cheaper elsewhere, but their selection is nearly impeccable. I've seen records here that I've only heard tall tales about.
