The first thing I'd have to say after staying here is that my face is still recovering from their sandpaper like towels; clearly they haven't heard of fabric softener. They also don't have air conditioning, which normally wouldn't be an issue since they're in usually cool Vail, but as it happened I was there during a week of unusually warm weather, which made the rooms feel like being in a sauna. They are close to the ski lifts, so I'd say it's a decent place to stay in the winter, but I wouldn't recommend it during the summer.

The Sitzmark Lodge is a family owned and operated lodge in the heart of Vail Village, surrounded by shops and restaurants and only steps to the Vista Bahn ski lift! We offer outstanding accommodations in a warm friendly atmosphere at a reasonable price. Our outdoor pool and sundeck overlooks all downtown festivities. On the backside, rooms overlook the picturesque Gore Creek.
History
Established in 1974
Bob and Helen Fritch are your hosts at the Sitzmark Lodge. They moved from Chicago to Vail in 1974 to find a new way of life, raise their three daughters in a family environment and follow their passion for skiing. It is with this feeling that they have created the warm family atmosphere at the Sitzmark. Bob and Helen's youngest daughter, Jeanne, is the general manager. She shares her parents' ideals in providing quality accommodations and outstanding customer service and plans on carrying the traditions of the Sitzmark on to the next generation.
