It's so nice to live close to this shopping center..lots of clothing stores, such as Victoria Secret, Ann Taylor, Nordstorm Rack ( my fav store), Banana Republics, and many others.

The downsize: the restaurants here are mainly chains restaurants.   There are no restaurants here that serve authentic ethnic foods, otherwise it would be my favorite place to shop and eat!

Of all the outdoor similiar photo copy shopping plazas that keep popping up around what developers must think is tropical MN, this one is my least favorite.

I've been here a few times and that was enough. For me, the drive is not worth it from where I'm coming and the overall unnecessary attitude is just annoying. From both staff at stores and fellow shoppers. Granted, it can be anywhere however, this place just seems to have an over abundance.

While there is a pretty decent selection of shops and a few decent restaurants, I'll stick to the shopping establishments closer that is if I have to venture to a mall at all.

They have a good variety of stores, I just found out that they had a Nordstrom Rack about a week or two ago when I was there, which is pretty awesome. Quite more than a few places to choose where to eat as well. There's Pittsburgh Blue which is a bit away from the mall, but still pretty close-by. If you want to eat at Arbor Lakes in a restaurant that's just there, I would go with CPK personally.

The only downside to Arbor Lakes, is of course the winters. I don't know how the businesses here even get much business then, nor do I know if they do or not.

Other than that, it's pretty awesome, & when the weather is all nice, you kinda feel like you're in a mall in So-Cal, at least, I do.

Arbor Lakes is great. There are all kinds of shops here. I and my bf go there almost every weekend because it's less than 10 mins from where we live. I love that there is Border's, Trader Joe's, Byerly's, and Nordstrom Rack, though Borders at this location is closing .. so sad. :'(

Arbor Lakes though is not so great during winter time since it's an outdoor mall, and it's not that pleasant when it's so and so below with tons of snow outside. Just this past couple of months when I had to pick up something really quick from BBW and VS, my big wuss bf would just drop me off in front of those shops, waited in the car and then picked me up when I was done. He would rather drive to Rosedale or Southdale when he feels like going shopping.

I'm sorry, but we live in Minnesota. We don't have THAT many days in the year to enjoy an outdoor mall. An outdoor mall is basically an indoor mall puked inside out. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy 50th/France and Grand Ave. But there are fewer stores and they're closer together.

I stopped by The Shoppes at Christmas time because I was in the area and they had a couple of stores I was looking for. I found a parking spot a long ways away and had to walk through slush, crossing a "street" before arriving at a sidewalk. It was cold and windy. There weren't directories readily available. I found one store I was looking for, but after trying to find the other I gave up and ran back to the car to get out of the elements.

Long story short, I understand the appeal of walking around an outdoor plaza. But give me an indoor mall 9 times out of 10! I wouldn't want to go there when it's snowing, raining, sleeting, super cold, or hot and humid. Besides, do YOU want to try on clothes that other hot and sweaty people have tried on before you? Sorry, but I'll pass.

I'm so glad I don't live in Maple Grove. The Shoppes is a financial nightmare for my check book. I discovered this place quickly after moving to Minnesota. Arbor Lakes has everything from a book store to a vanity store, from a Costco to a nordstrom rack, DSW to express for men, trader joes and a best buy to a ulta beauty store... no wonder you'll find your house moms here emptying out their husbands bank account while their babies are at the lifetime daycare across the street. Ok, maybe i should give them a bit more credit.

Ultimately, i love the idea that Arbor Lakes has tons of restaurants to choose from. you can spend a whole day here. Shop during the afternoon as you build an appetite and then chow down at CPK, or Pittsburgblues or even biaggis... then end the night with a flick at AMC.

Did i mention you can get your grocery shopping done here too?! Yup... name it and they have it.

The only downfall is that Arbor Lakes is an outdoor mall... so think of running around trying to complete your errands in the freaken cold! You besta believe that your butt will be freezing cold

I'm a fan. I like outdoor shopping, even if it's five degrees in Minnesota. There's plenty of shopping here although it's the same chain stores you'll find at almost any mall around the country: Buckle, Express, Banana Republic, Gap, Nordstrom Rack. Dining options also follow that same cookie cutter approach: Potbelly, Pittsburgh Blue, CPK, Granite City, PF Chang's. But, I'm a fan of Potbelly and Pittsburgh Blue, so I'll be back.

I live just a walk away.

Yeah, it sucks in the winter but its really not bad with the music piped in, a coffee in hand and bonfires going.

Loads of higher end shops and in today's economy an okay place to shop given all the sales.

    Fav store? Anthropologie!

Love it in the summer, hate it in the winter since you have to walk outside to get to each shop and/or restaurant.  There are many popular closing stores here such as Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Gap, Express, and Victoria's Secret.

This place is pretty new and it's reflected in the architecture.  The outdoor mall area in the middle of the shops is very nice in the summertime.

The restaurants here are mainly chains though.   There are no restaurants here that serve authentic ethnic foods but that's pretty typical in the suburbs in MN.

    Outdoor shopping in Minnesota?

I must say, 1st off I'm a man, I like beer, football and _. Yet I will admit I do enjoy shopping at times. I hate malls full of rude people, lame stores and pumped in music and air, not sure which is more stale on some days. The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes is a breath of fresh air in most of those areas. They have many of the same shops you'll find at some of the local malls but the open feel of it is very appealing to me.

They have a few local stores that are unique to the area like "Good Things", but the important thing is that open area between stores never gives you the feeling your packed in some general marketing mecca. The music they have pumped in is a little different than most and in the summer on Thursday nights they have bands playing in the center area. It can be very relaxing on a nice summer night.

Even in the dead of winter I find it appealing. I have shopped here for Christmas gifts many times and despite the cold bitter winds I still find something very mello about walking outside between stores. With the fires roaring at night, the music playing and the cold winter it feels more like a small town than a mall. I know I have watched to many Christmas movies over the years but for some reason it just feels natural, after all it is still MN.

Nice.  I love outdoor malls that you can walk down one side and back up the other not an indoor mall that goes in every different direction.  I came during the art fair which was nice but nothing super unusual.  Lots of jewelry and photography.
