After living in RI for 7 months I have finally found a legit place that has great tacos! I've been waiting for the shack to open and boy the wait was worth it! Showed up with my toddler and I ordered 3 beef tacos with everything on it...Hot sauce, onions, cilantro! Delicious! The meat was seasoned right. The amount of meat in each tacos was great. Definitely worth the price you pay. I ordered a child taco with chicken and it came with cheese. Perfect for my little girl who loved it! I also ordered a side of rice and it was very good. They have different kinds of drinks like RI cola, water and Jarritos. Today they had agua Fresca de mango ( fresh mango juice) which I didn't try, but next time for sure. Also, the chips were very fresh and were seasoned just right. I'm coming back this weekend with my husband to try the lobster burrito!
Lots of parking and a few tables outside to eat and also a great view to enjoy while you eat delicious food!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 503222114Aug 18, 2018
We visit the location in Providence often so were both pleased and surprised when a Jamestown local told us about "the shack"
Upon arrival, we recognized the food immediately - even if the menu looked different from our local spot in Providence. We placed our order and went to find a seat. They only have a handful of picnic tables nearby so we sat next to another family and waited for our name to be called.
The shack is located at the end of the street and there's water nearby. It's a sweet little spot that makes you remember why summers in Rhode Island are the best.
This was a crazy first experience here - first, there was a dog fight happening as we were walking up to "the shack" between two leashed dogs who's owners were sitting at adjacent picnic tables. There was lots of barking, growling, and biting between the two before the owners were able to get control of them and separate them.
Then, there was a bizarre mixup at the pickup window with one employee yelling "Jenny" at least a dozen times with no customers responding. She took a moment to read the slip and decided that the name at the bottom said "Jerry" and started shouting for Jerry to come pick up his order. A man came by to grab the plate of food and went to his table, only to return to the window moments later when he realized that this wasn't his order. The woman at the window was totally lost and just stared at the slip while the customer (Jerry) explained what he had ordered. A second customer came by and said "I think that's mine, my name is Gary" and the woman at the window just stared blankly at him. A second employee came over to sort it out. It was so confusing, that they scraped that order that was sitting in the window this whole time and just decided to make both Jerry and Gary new items. Neither of them seemed too happy about the mix up or the extended wait.
My order was up next (a shrimp bowl and a beef taco) and it was perfect, so I scooped it up and got out of the way.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissa M.Newport, RI256577229Aug 2, 2017
These are by far my favorite tacos anywhere.
I previously tried the PVD location and got a steak bowl - it was so tastey and fresh i have been talking about it since. For my bday i left work a little early to make it before closing at the shack which is closer to home and we ordered 1 of each taco to try - bean, pork belly, beef, chicken, fish, lobster. Pork belly and bean were my favorite, the lobster one is a bit expensive and i dont love to see lobster in a taco but i cant say anything bad about any of them. Cilantro is plentiful and they are a good size.
The location has parking and a great view with a few picnic tables (4 i believe). They dont sell regular brand sodas but very similar. I wish they were open a bit longer hours during the summer so i can make it more often but ill take this closer location!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris R.Narragansett, RI480359314Jul 25, 2016

So Impressed. was looking for a different spot for lunch using the Yelp app and came up with this place. I had never heard of it. Okay, beautiful day - why not?
It's basically a big shed with a door and take-out window. inside they make magic. And awesome. Lots of that.
Six picnic tables with umbrellas in the crushed shell dooryard next to the marina.
Not a bad weather spot but if it's nice out - GO.
I had the lobster burrito which was perfect. Delicious. Big. Lots of lobster.
My wife had a shrimp burrito bowl. Fresh greens, guac, wow.
Such a terrific find. Love this place and am looking forward to going again. And again. I need to eat my way through the menu.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - N W.Andover, MA0501Jul 13, 2019
This place in NOT closed, It is just seasonal. Went yesterday and tacos were awesome as ever. Lobster taco (while a bit pricey) was so good! The bean tacos and chicken burritos were excellent as well. Don't miss the agua frescas either! Craving more now! :)

OPEN!! Open for business as is a seasonal location. Delicious authentic Mexican offerings - tacos, burritos & bowls. Choose chicken, beef, fish, lobster & more. Scratch kitchen prepared to order & super fresh. Seating is only outdoor picnic tables. We were a party of 11 from ages 2 up. Everyone thrilled! They do offer a kids taco on menu for $3.50. Food items generally $8-$13. Burritos are gigantic & filling. Will return before season ends!!

There's not many things better than delicious tacos and a great view. It's the same outstanding food and service you get at Tallulah's in Providence, but with the added charm of Dutch Harbor. And did I mention they serve lobster tacos, burritos and bowls here? Just an added perk of the harbor side location! I highly recommend making a trip to Jamestown before the shack closes for the season, a summer must! A couple tips: there's ample parking, but they only take CASH!

The Chicken Burrito from Tallulah's was one of the best decisions I made food wise the weekend of the Newport Folk Festival 2016. Tallulah's had a stall inside Fort Adams State Park for the fest, and the line was constantly long. So very worth the wait!
After sitting through an entire day of witnessing people eating the Tallulah's burritos with a near elated look on their face and also horror at how large the food baby burrito was and the mountain of food they had to overcome... I decided that my game plan was to split said burrito with a friend.
We agreed it not only hit the spot but also held us over for the rest of the day and well into the night. Only complaint was the lack of other toppings inside other than beans, rice and chicken but I am going to chock this up to festival growing pains and the fact that perhaps they were running out of some of their ingredients (like diced tomatoes) due to the ever constant hordes of customers and the logistics of getting supplies into the concert venue...
Taste was on point! The trio of tacos that others were ordering looked fantastic as well with radishes and all the garnished on top. Looking forward to trying the original Tallulah's in Jamestown soon!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Heather M.Brooklyn, NY35344060Oct 11, 2016
Everything I could ask for in a waterfront taco shack. Fish, shrimp, and lobster tacos were all delicious. Love that they are served with guac by default. Fresh seafood, great flavors, SPECTACULAR location. I also saw that it's BYOB, the table next to us had brought some wine. That's the only thing that could have made this better!

Wanted to love it but didn't. It was an average meal to me. If I lived closer I might go back. Tacos are their shinning star. Both the rice and beans in the burrito were undercooked.
