I hate to say it but I can't give Salvation Army more than one star. I think their stores are good but when you try to donate, it becomes impossible.
It took me three weeks of calling S.A. before someone picked up the phone. I needed to schedule a pick up of several items (including furniture/electronics). They told me when they would come out to pick up the items (I didn't get to pick from any open time slots). They told me I needed to call them on the morning of the scheduled pickup and they would tell me if they would stop by "either in the morning or in the afternoon". They never showed up.

I called them after the scheduled pick up time ended to see if they were just running a little late and the guy who answered the phone said, "hmm, well, they will probably just stop by tomorrow sometime...". I'm so bummed to have given up a day of work (that i really needed) in order to wait around all day for them and then have them not show up (and not even call).
I saw several other reviews that wrote similar things, like 'donating anything at the store was nearly impossible and the "donation pick up service" rarely happened).
I'm not sorry i tried but i wish it had worked out. I won't be calling them again (I can't miss work again just hoping they stop by or call or...something).
