37 reviews for The Salon at 10 Newbury
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
Ha, well my review sounds realllllly similar to Lisa's. I too went to Kristine but it was after purchasing one of those BuyWithMe certificate thingy's on their site. It was $25 for a haircut, blowdry and style. Not a bad friggin' deal if I must say so!! So I promptly booked my appointment right after I purchased it since I know how quickly those places book up when you buy one.
Sooo anywho, I have always been very nervous when going to get my haircut because every frieken time I go, they NEVER really listen to me. I typically get the engineering vision of what THEY had in mind for my hair, nevermind MY vision. Ugh. And that's at expensive places too (ala G2O last year when I asked for a long version of Posh Spice cut and got a super short bob instead...#2 major meltdown of my life...#1 is a whole other story). But I explained to Kristine that I am desperately trying to grow my hair out so I only wanted the tippy top ends of my hair snipped and my bangs cut to frame my face. And that's EXACTLY what she did. I was soooo relieved! So needless to say, I have found my new hair stylist, coupon or no coupon. Oh and bonus...she said I look just like Eva Longoria. Um, is "I love you" too forward here?? I will definitely be back!
I used my BuyWithMe coupon for a haircut/wash/blow dry with Dailene--a real gem at this non-pretentious Newbury salon. This was my introduction to Salon 10 after giving up on Newbury street salons and I'm sure I will be back again. I arrived without my coupon because of a failed printer and the front desk ladies were kind enough to let me print it out onsite. They treated me with coffee/tea and made a genuine effort to make me feel comfortable. I met Dailene almost immediately (so no wait) and she was warm and friendly.
Dailene is THE GO TO for curly hair. The moment she saw mine (and my trepidation since I've had bad haircuts) she instantly put me at ease with her knowledge about curly hair cutting, highlighting--even washing. I had her cut a significant amount off but felt I was in good hands. To this day, I LOVE my hair and look forward to my next haircut...or even highlight which I'm strongly considering with Dialene. She talked me through every process and discussed great products without any hard sell. After my appointment she handed me two hand-written cards for 20% off for two friends. Overall,
-Reception was very nice
-The space is cozy and low key
-Go to Dialene for a great cut, especially if you have curly hair
-Prices are reasonable or even less than most Newbury street salons.
-Bring cash for tips (I don't think you can add it to your card).
Arwen is an incredible waxer. She isn't the most bubbly person on earth but she's very good at her job. I would recommend her to anyone.
Waxing is definitely and anxiety-rich experience that I'd rather not discuss on the internet for all to read. But trust me, Arwen does an excellent job!
I was underwhelmed by my haircut with Kristine. I'm glad I used a BuyWithMe coupon, since I don't think it was worth the $65-100 regular price. After telling Kristine I wanted to change up my style without losing too much length, I ended up with a trim and a lot of blow-drying. I also mentioned that I'm low-maintenance with my hair and don't use product, and she responded with something like..."oh, we'll change that!" My hairstyle did look different with the products she put in my hair and all that styling time, but that really wasn't what I was looking for. Once I went home and washed my hair, it looked almost exactly the same as it did pre-cut (with slightly neater ends).
On the other hand, I was much more impressed by my appointment with Arwen. She did a great job with my brows. I'm surprised that other yelpers said she was intimidating or unpleasant -- she was very friendly and talkative, and I didn't feel rushed at all.
2 stars for the haircut, 5 stars for Arwen.
I got my hair done by Kristine M. She was great and really listened to what I wanted. I was even one of those people who brought in pictures of celebrities and said make me look like this! Ok so maybe I don't look like Catherine Zeta Jones but I did get a rocking yet professional hair cut and one that will grow to look even better. Oh and they were fixing up like 5 models for a fashion show which was kind of cool to watch (I even saw one model eat! For real they do eat!)
I needed a new place to get my hair done in Boston and saw that Salon at 10 Newbury does 20% off for first time customers. After one haircut with Ghada, I was hooked! She is amazing at doing my color and I love the way she cuts my hair. I have long hair and didn't do layers before, but she cuts my hair dry so it looks perfect every time. She's so cute and fun to talk to while I get my hair done as well. Highly recommended!
Wow, I came here to shine a spotlight on Kristine M. (with the tattoos), and I learn she's already a superstar! I've been going to her for about 8 years -- following her from salon to salon up and down Newbury Street -- and she's never let me down. Not only does she give me really great haircuts, she cracks me up with stories about her love life and party antics. She knows about all of the boyfriends I've had since I met her, and even remembers the details!
I color my hair myself and she's never made me feel bad about it...in fact she often comments on how much she likes the color! I did have her do my color recently and though I did really like it, I just can't spend that much on my hair, so back to the box for me. My BFF also started going to her recently and loves her, her cuts, and her color.
I'm sure to Kristine I'm just another loyal customer, but to me she's like a good girlfriend, and I look forward to seeing her every 6-8 weeks!
This salon is AMAZING.
They really make you feel good from the moment you walk inside. There's an adorable little lounge area with complimentary Espresso, Tea, etc.. all the good stuff.
I'm usually not a huge patron of pricey, upscale salons, but for waxing I throw a few extra dollars in for it so I know its done well and done right. Arwin is a fabulous waxer, I've gone to her for my eyebrows, legs and bikini and I've never left unhappy. She makes you feel really comfortable and makes conversation through your entire waxing, but she skips the awkward small talk when you first arrive, getting right to the point and getting you on the table!
I've also gotten a haircut with Christopher before and he's just as wonderful! Unfortunately, my life doesn't give me too many chances to afford his haircuts, so sadly, I've only gotten one. He's really talented with what he does, so pay him a visit if you ever come to the salon!
I give it four stars only because I can't really afford this place, and that's a shame!
I have lived in Boston for almost four years and up until I found The Salon I would go home to NY every 6-8 weeks for a hair cut. I know, it's obscene and expensive, but I was petrified that I would meet with some horrific stylist who would chop off all of my hair on a crazy whim.
After attending one of the salon's "blow dry boot camps" (a night where one can go and learn how to blow dry ones own hair) I met and fell in love with Dailen. I saw her gorgeous curly hair and thought immediately that I wanted my own crazy cowlick-y curls to look like hers - sleek and beautiful. Dailen blow dried my hair and while she worked told me about her training at a salon designed specifically for - you guessed it! - curly hair! I book my appointment for an actual hair cut the next week and it was everything I had hoped for and more. She did things to me that I have never had done before...I'm talking about the hair cut here people. I have body, lift, movement, and smooth shiny curls courtesy of Dailen and I'm hooked. Although she is the only stylist I've had, everyone else is nice and friendly.
The salon itself is clean, bright, and offers a pretty view of Newbury St. The price of a cut depends on the hair dresser, usually between $50 and $75.
I lost my Brazilian Wax virginity at 10 Newbury. I decided to take the plunge after reading all the great reviews about Arwen on here and I was not disappointed! I popped two ibuprofen before coming in the for the wax to alleviate the pain. I told Arwen it was my first Brazilian and she tried to make it as quick and painless as possible. I got some bruising on my bikini line from flinching but that couldn't be helped. I've heard from some people that their Brazilians took about an hour but Arwen had me in and out in 20 minutes. I've been back for a second one since and she's done my eyebrows. I love getting my Brazilians here but the only problem is that the results only seem to last me 2-3 weeks. The hair grows back quick! This could get expensive.
The lady that greeted me was very professional and nice. I bought several jewelry that they had displayed, I liked their style.
What I didn't like was that the stylist that did my hair was sick and she was coughing all over me while she was cutting my hair. I'm sorry but in a service industry you can't afford to get your customers sick!
As for my cut, my bangs are okay. It is a little short on the left side, but the overall haircut is what I exactly wanted.
Arwen's been featured in Allure, which is how I found her. But she was slightly intimidating (she's also about 6'3" tall) and asked me WHY I was getting a Brazilian......uhhm why else would I be getting one. Anyway, it was slightly more painful than other waxers I've been to and she's not particularly gentle or anything. One thing that really bothered me was that when she was waiting for the wax to cool down a little, she was looking at bridal dresses and sending out emails on the computer next to the bed I was lying in. She also made a couple of phone calls WHILE she was waxing me!
FYI, she uses hard wax (no strips), which I'm indifferent about. Not too crazy about her, and for the price, I won't be going back anytime soon.
I went to the Salon at 10 Newbury after experiencing a horrendous haircut elsewhere. I called to make the appointment on Friday, and was immediately scheduled for Saturday. Great.
I saw Chris, who told me exactly what the previous stylist had done wrong, and set to work creating an entirely new look for me. I am soooo happy with what emerged from the hack job that was my hair. While I've never gone this short before, I love the the cut and think the way it frames my face is excellent. Chris did a great job, and even offered me a discount after heard heard my sob story.
I will definitely be heading back to Chris, thanks for saving my hair :)
Normally I would want to keep this secret all to myself, but Elie at the Salon at 10 Newbury is fantastic. I have very curly hair and Elie knows what he's doing. He cuts it straight, and requires no chemicals or flatirons to straighten it. My hair is the healthiest its ever been thanks to him!
my entire family has been seeing Sam for years - she gives a killer haircut, and actually listens to what you want. Also great with highlights and color.
reasonable prices too!
I asked a friend in grad school "Your hair is fabulous - where do you get your hair done?" She gave me the name of her stylist - Kristine - and told me that she loves going to her because she treats you with care and precision, as if your hair was a piece of art. I thought my friend was a wacko until I actually had Kristine do my hair. That was five years ago. I have referred several people to her and have only received thank you's for doing so. From classic long looks, to short & spikey, to men's cuts, Kristine can accommodate pretty diverse needs. I wouldn't bother going to anyone else!
I went to get a cut for curly hair and luckily I found Dailan. She was awesome. I had already heard of 'Devachon' and went in with that cut and process in mind. She was VERY knowledgeable about it and explained everything in great detail. I was very happy that she didn't force products on me and was honest about what I really needed. I will definitely be going back to her from now on. If you do go for curly hair you MUST get the gel...it's an important step and not to be skipped. Also...as I have heard a lot lately...don't shampoo your hair!! Dailan will explain, but just trust me curly girls...trust me.
Kristine M. has been cutting my hair for years. Like others, I too have followed her from past salons.
Kristine is a GREAT hairstylist with excellent skills! She is always friendly and approachable. I typically bring in pictures of different hair styles and ask her opinion. She will ask what I like about a particular style and then tell me how she can make it work for my face and hair. She will also noticing if "I have done that style before". I find that impressive, because I am not her only client and she has cut so many different styles on me over the years. I don't even remember!
In all the years I have been going to Kristine, I have never left unhappy. I often receive complements on my hair and am happy to pass Kristine's contact information along.
Inclosing, you can feel comfortable going to Kristine and the Salon at 10 Newbury. Before finding Kristine I had experienced unprofessional, somewhat snooty behavior at other salons on the street. You will not experience that behavior with Kristine.
I heart Arwen.
She is a waxing machine. I don't know what kind of magical wax she uses or if she is a witch or something, but I swear to God, her brazilians are practically painless.
I hate it when you go in to get a Brazilian somewhere and the aesthetician seems annoyed that she has to be so up-close and personal with your nether-regions. It's like... does this really bother you? If so, perhaps you chose the wrong profession? Maybe hair-removal isn't the career for you? Anyway, Arwen is not all like this at all. She is efficient and professional and not afraid getting up in there and plucking every last hair if she has to!!
She is also just a cool person in general. She has a way of putting people at ease... even while hovering over you with a vat of hot wax.
I highly recommend Arwen for any hair removal needs!
Let's put it this way: My experience at "The Salon At 10 Newbury" ranks up there with one of the most INSANE I have ever had in my life. To not Yelp it, would be a travesty. People should know about the mayhem that ensued between the days of Thursday, January 25 and Saturday, January 27. Let me tell you ...
Either "The Salon at 10 Newbury" is relatively new and looking for clients or they just don't do very much business over there (and I can see why judging from my own personal experience), but they were running a special promotion last week. A little card was given out to everyone in our sorority during last week's meeting advertising a $15 glaze and blow-out at the salon.
Normally I don't trust salon's aside from Shag to even get near my locks, but what harm can a person do with a bottle of glaze and a blowdrier? So, I spoke with Caitlin about it and she called "The Salon at 10 Newbury" to book BOTH OF US appointments. Mine was to be at 2:30 on Saturday and hers was SUPPOSED to be at 4:30.
I arrived at the salon promptly, after lunching at Kashmir, and was directed to the coat room, where I had to hang my coat myself. The girl's at the front desk were too busy doing whatever it was they do when there aren't any clients in the entire place and the phones aren't ringing (Ebay? AIM? Stalking on Myspace?).
I sat down for but a moment when I was summoned to my stylist's chair. We chatted about nothing for a minute (I am not one to be awkward, but it was very difficult to make conversation). She then took me to the sink and began washing my hair. That's where all hell broke loose.
I mentioned dear Caitlin would be coming in for her own appointment at 4:30 and my stylist stopped dead in her tracks, saying the salon closed at 5 and there could be so such appointment. I argued that of course there was such an appointment because Caitlin had made mine, as well, so certainly she wouldn't have been careless with her own. My stylist then said that if I called Caitlin and had her come in at 4, she would take her for an appointment.
I did as instructed and Caitlin hurried her little buns down Newbury. Meanwhile, I was harassed with questions concerning the length, texture, style of Caitlin's hair. I could tell my stylist wanted to get the hell out of there ASAP the way she was badgering me and rushing about my head trying to get everything done.
I was busy watching the male stylist to my right acting like he was Paul Mitchell himself. He was waltzing around his client (who basically buzzed her hair off), smiling at me maniacally, and wearing a ski hat. It was all very odd.
Anywho, my stylist tried to talk me into getting some crazy-sounding color glaze to my hair, and I amused her saying I would probably come back for it. She also kept asking me why I didn't have any layers, although I informed her about 90 times that I had JUST CUT MY HAIR TO RESEMBLE THE NICOLE RICHIE BOB.
So, I finally paid my $15 (which I still considered worth it as my hair quite glossy and reminiscent of any conditioner commercial airing on TV), and got the hell out of there. I bumped into Caitlin outside (the time being just before 4:00), and she was hurrying upstairs to keep her appointment. Trouble was, when she got there, the stylist decided she didn't want to take her after all. They said it was too late, they had changed their minds, the salon closed at 5, good-bye. The receptionist was insanely rude, and didn't even apologize for making her come all the way down Newbury.
If this isn't terrible service, I don't know what is. I have never heard the likes.
I even left my stylist a 30% tip because I felt bad for their sorry state of affairs.
This place is very nice. On Newbury, very convenient. This place is reasonably priced although its on newbury. I had some trouble with previous hair cuts at other places and I think I finally found a great salon i could always come to since I've been jumping around for the past 2 years. I chose Christopher Difazio because of reviews on yelp. I am very happy to say that good reviews are right on. He is very talented and creative. He convinced me of getting a haircut I would never get and it looks very stylish. He devoted 100% attention to me which is a plus, I hate when hairstylist are rush and taking care of two clients at once or answering the phone. Not sure if I can maintain my trendy new hair cut on my own but I'll try it out for a while. I can't wait to go back to see Christopher just to see what he'll do with my next haircut.
Most girls know when it's time to get their eyebrows waxed/threaded/plucked and make an appointment.
I do not fall into this 'most girls' category.
I make an appointment only when I have the time --a rare commodity that I do not give away easily. Usually, this results in caterpillar eyebrows by the time I finally give in and call salons until I find a place that can take me that day.
This time however was going to be different. I decided that no matter how unruly my brows got, I was going to wait for a true genius to shape them - of course I am talking about the much raved Arwen at 10 Newbury, one of the most booked estheticians in the city.
Crossing my fingers, I called and hoped like hell that she could take me before I had to trek back to NY for the holiday. The gods must have been smiling on me (or thinking, it's about damn time she did something about those things) because the receptionist told me I could come by at 5:30 that day for my appointment.
After enduring a horrendous T ride from Park to Arlington (a 15 year old serenading her boyfriend loudly and off-key will make even the shortest ride a nightmare) I arrived 5 minutes late to my appointment.
My name was called 2 seconds after and 10 minutes, a few yanked strips of cotton, tweezed hairs and some New York based chit chat later I had perfectly arched, groomed, and manicured eyebrows.
Total cost of fabulousness? $18 + tip.
Arwen, I love all 6 feet 3 inches of you. I'll be back and this time, I won't have "virgin" brows.
Hey, I've read the reviews of this place and I'm just a dude. I don't have anyone plucking my eyebrows. I don't have anyone coloring my hair. I don't have anyone popping my zits or anything like that.
I just have someone who takes good care of my hair and her name is Kristine.
Now, for those of you who have been following all 7 of my reviews, you'll know that I've been following Kristine around for the last 4 years. She'll get bored at a place and move to another place. Then she calls me and goes, "Yo, I moved." and then I move along with her.
And the reason I move along with her is because she does a really, really good job at cutting my hair. And for those of you ladies who are wondering, "Can she cut ladies' hair too?" I can answer you with a resounding "Yes she can." She used to cut my chick-friend's hair before my chick-friend moved to NYC.
So there you have it kids. Go to this place. Ask for Kristine. The one with tattoos.
And tell them Mike (the dude with the Wolf Shirt) sent you.
Never been here until a friend told me of a special promotional discount they were offering if you mention the sorority promotion when you call to make an appointment. This consists of a $15 glaze and blow out- amazing right? The offer expires on Feb 21st i believe.
Alisha is adorable and believe it or not still in high school (don't worry, its a beauty school and she is very professional). She did my blow out and it looked beautiful. For $15 its so worth it to do every other day even! I am not sure how their other services are but they do offer a lot. My blow out is a 5 star but that's all i know of the salon so I'm giving it a 4 not to throw people off.
I will agree with Matt R. when I say that Arwen (who I always took for a mannish creature) is extremely unpleasant. She/he is very good at what he/she does, but would literally SHOVE me up the second she was done with my eyebrows.
Also, the last time I went there the (knowledgeable?) staff screwed up and had me down for a "full bikini" though I was coming in every three weeks for an eyebrow wax. Last time I checked, eyebrow and bikini sound nothing alike. Whatever the case, I'm sure you all can imagine my horror when she started ripping off huge pieces of paper to lay down on the bed and asked, "full bikini, right?" Oh God, I can only imagine the comments she would make about my nether regions.
Anyway, three stars because the beast knows what's going on with eyebrows... well two stars for being knowledgeable, the extra star because I got compliments.
I will never go back though. I'm confident I can find other places. I prefer threading anyway.
I've been going to Arwen for over a year now, for eyebrow and bikini wax. She was my first waxist and I love her. I recommend her to everyone I know. The waxes are pretty painless and she is quick and efficient. She makes you feel comfortable during what could be an intimate and awkward process. I also find the prices for waxes to be very reasonable, and even a lot cheaper than some of the salons my friends go to.
Ok, so I got a haircut here in April. I wanted to see how my hair would look in a couple of months - whether the shape would grow well, etc. I have to say, I'm disappointed.
I went with a clear but flexible idea of the style I wanted and Elie seemed very receptive. He seemed to enjoy haircutting/styling very much and put me at ease immediately. I showed him a couple of pictures of layered styles, and he seemed to understand. I really had only one requirement - he should keep as much length as possible while getting rid of the split ends. I went home satisfied with the look. He didn't try to sell me anything (other services/products), and was extremely friendly.
However, the next day, I realized that MOST of my split ends were still there!! I called and they asked me to come in the same day (MUCH appreciated) and Elie was extremely nice about re-cutting my split ends, taking special care this time. I went home satisfied again.
But I noticed more split ends the next day. Not as many as the day before, but enough to leave me disappointed. Also, my hair doesn't fall beautifully, the layers are pretty much invisible not giving me the volume I desired. After cutting off over 4 inches, my friends can't tell the difference!
PROS: Service (Elie and the receptionists are wonderful), 20% off coupon (with select stylists, look for it on their website: http://www.salonat10ne...),
CONS: Quality (I didn't get what I asked for and need to get another haircut now)
ARWEN is the only esthetician to go to in Boston. YOU SHOULD NOT GO ANYWHER ELSE....
The salon is like any other newbury street salon but ARWEN IS THE BEST, no doubt. If you want your brows looking PERFECT, she is who to go to.
I don't know what I'll do if I ever leave Boston - I might have to make monthly trips just to see her.
ARWEN gives the most amazing brow wax ever! I promise! I used to live in Boston, and went to her when she had her own little place (which was so beautiful by the way). I found out about her from the "Best in Boston" magazine issue, which she was voted as "best brow wax" many times. When I was moving, the salon was just expanding into something larger, which is now the current place (I believe).
She used Dr. Hauschka skin care products, which are divine.
My eyebrows always looked perfect when I would leave. She waxed them in about 3 minutes. In one hand was her waxing stick, and in the other was a cell phone. Still perfect.
I would move back to Boston just to get my eyebrows waxed by Arwen.
Love love love Arwyn and Richard. Arwyn is an extremely skilled waxing professional and Richard gives a great haircut (he was recommended by Arwyn - who happens to also have great hair). My sister and I try to go to see Arwyn together because she is not only terrific at brow and bikini waxes, but she is a lot of fun. Whether its your first wax or your fiftieth, she helps you relax and get ready to feel pretty. Richard dealt with my post-partum hair wonderfully (giving me a pretty and sexy "mommy" haircut that is glam and low maintenance). I've not gone to Sandy - another stylist at the salon - but she is also a very talented doer of hair. She threw some product in my hair when I was waiting for Arwyn - I ended up having a wildly complimentary day on my hair.
I agree with all these lovely peeps who say Arwen is great. She does an amazing job waxing any and all parts that need to be dehaired. I can't speak for the rest of the salon services cause I have only been to Arwen for waxing. But I recommend the place because they had the smarts to hire her. Wish it was slightly cheaper but its worth it.
I read about Arwen here and went to give her a try. She is indeed good at her craft. I went in for a brazillian wax and she was quick and efficient. I am not going to lie, of course it hurts, it's a brazillian wax for goodness sake, but Arwen was able to make the pain quick and easy. unlike what others have said here, she was very pleasent and friendly. Not the overly friendly kind, but just pleasent enough. Highly recommend this place if you need a quick and good wax.
AWFUL...is the only word to describe my five-minute experience at The Salon at 10 Newbury. I have to back up Ms. Gaby's review in saying that I have never been so furious or outraged at a Salon in my life. I happened to receive a card/coupon from The Salon at 10 Newbury regarding a $15 dollar blow out, glaze and color consultation. So as Gabby explains in her review I booked 2 appointments for Saturday (one at 2:30 the other at 4:30) seeing on Saturday evening I was hosting a retro 1940's jazz cocktail party so I thought why not and what a deal. Now, I obviously assume that these coupons were, The Salon at 10 Newbury's, master marketing plan was to offer this promotion in hopes of gaining new cliental. Well let me tell you that they FAILED FAILED FAILED.
my appointment was not until 4:30 I decided to get a mani pedi at 3ish at a spa that's about a 15minute walk from the Salon. In the midst of getting my nails done I receive a frantic phone call from Gabby that the Salon has "lost" my reservation and that they close at 5 on Saturdays. i was livid so Gabby asked the lady doing her hair, if I was to hustle my buns in now could she still do my hair, the girl reluctantly agreed. So marched myself like a bat out of hell down Newbury. I finally arrive at 4:05 on the dot to be greeted by two extremely rude receptionists. As I am franticly explaining to them my situation, the older one puts her finger up in the air and goes "one second" she then carries out a two-minute conversation with the other receptionist about closing duties. I was so annoyed that I interrupted them and say " excuse me but is someone going to do my hair or not" and in a very condescending tone she says "Look, I am sorry but we just don't have your reservation in our computers and frankly we close in less then an hour, so NO... It is not possible" at this point I was so angry I am surprised that my eyeballs didn't pop out. However, I kept my composure requested the owners e-mail address and exited the premises in a huff planning my e-mail revenge.
So even though i cannot comment on the services at The Salon at 10 Newbury, I can certainly tell you that the service really SUCKS and perhaps the owners should consider hiring competent people who are aware of the Salons hours of operation as well as ones who know the concept of customer service!!!
Arwen is a fantastic esthetician. I love the services she provides. I've always found her to know EXACTLY what I need. If you're looking for someone to molly-coddle you, you won't get it here. You will get honest answers and perfection.
Admittedly, waiting 6 weeks before she'll give you the first brow wax was kinda hard, but I got through that awkward period and now everything is fabulous.
She's now working out of Salon at 10 Newbury Street in Boston. The address is, uh, 10 Newbury Street. Phone # 617-247-4900.
Arwen is the new and improved Austen. Go see her and tell her I sent you.
I've been coming here for awhile now and wanted to give my $0.2! Katie always does an amazing job on my hair (I don't want to tell you how many stylists I've been through in the past ten years here) and while it can be expensive, its WORTH it. Everyone at the salon is very nice and attentive and they always seem to have the perfect appointment for me. I can't speak for any of the other stylists, but Katie always does a great cut and style and always seems to nail what I'm looking for.
I have gotten exactly one type of service at this salon and it is the only reason I keep coming back: Arwen, Arwen, Arwen. Fantabulous brazilian waxes. She has won a ton of awards including "Best of Boston," three times, been featured in numerous women's magazines like Elle, which is how I found her- all the media press, and let me tell you- she is the bomb. I had a horrendous experience once when I couldn't make it to Boston and I still have nightmares. Make the trip and you will not be sorry. She uses a high-quality natural wax, is very professional and meticulous, and everything is ultra-clean. As it should be. Makes a brazilian wax the closest it can be to a non-stupefying, or excruciatingly painful experience. Which, as any woman knows, is saying A LOT :-D
Umm, yeah, Arwen.
