I got my MacBook Pro fixed here. The LCD backlight stopped working, and the problem was diagnosed and fixed while I waited (bad inverter and wire connecting screen to body). The quality of the diagnosis, repair, and customer service was top notch. Additionally, there was secondary issue with a loose hinge on the computer, and I got that repaired for no charge at no additional charge.
Other things I noticed:
It was also interesting to watch several other computer repair people bring their customers mac laptops in to get them fixed here because The Rossmann Group had more expertise than they did. Seeing other repair people vouch for the shop only made me trust them more.
I also saw another customer get some software fixed without charge since there was no hardware work. -

After searching the web, looking for a place that repairs iphone's screens for a price lower than the one asked by the iphone store, I decided to go and try the Rossmann group as the reviews of that place were very positive.
And... I am very glad I went there : for 90 $ (60 $ cheaper than tekserve or 70 $ cheaper than the iphone store); the screen of my iphone 4 was repaired in just minutes.
The merchant was very friendly and offered me to have a seat and watch while he was repairing my phone.
The result is great : my iphone looks brand new and is working perfectly.
I highly recommend this place! -

Louis, just going down the reviews we come to EP...... here is another online customer, mailed his phone to you, you did the repair, and did good work on his phone, hes happy with your service provided....... but wait, hes only giving four stars..... Hmmmmmm I wonder why?
A. He contacted your company asking him to contact him back
B. You never did..... and admit you didn't with the excuse we was moving....
C. Same thing happened to me when placing my order off your ebay listing, contacted you after placing my order, asking you to contact me regarding Info on your Item....... no contact from you for I believe 7 days after the purchase, and the Item was not shipped out... you admit that it wasn't, but now try to change your story to make you look like your doing your job...... LOL....
D. after around 7 days of no contact back from you on ebay or calling my cell number I included in my first ebay message to you, and only after leaving neg. feed back on the sale of the item...... I get a response from you along the lines of...... how can I help you, I explained in the ebay message that I thought your listing was contradicting regarding your information posted on how to tell the difference from a 2009 and 2010 macbook pro, and it in fact is. I didn't get angry with you, wasn't rude to you, or give any info to you about my experience as a tech in any of the several very rude ebay message's that followed from you and my response's back to you.
E. You are lying through your teeth about 90% of your edited response to this yelp review...... and the only reason my response came on here to yelp is, after how rude you was on your Ebay messages back to me, and in the reply's to my neg. feed back because you failed to even contact me or ship the item out for over 7 days i searched your company down, found your info after calling my credit card company to see the name of the company that charged off my card and failed to ship the Item I ordered. After doing so, I got your number and called you on the 9th day, after waiting 7 days for contact from you with no contact from you till I left neg. feed back on ebay, you respond to my feedback, then become very hostile in your ebay messages back to me.
F. In this phone call and your ebay messages back to me, you act like a dick, which you admitted. Thanks little buddy :) The only time and the first time I brought up what I do, or the experience I have working with mac's and custom PC's is in this phone call........ Get your facts straight and fess up to your lack of getting back to yet another one of your online customers. Looking at your other company's reviews on LCD and LED screens on ebay, there are several buyers who claim the same thing I have, and EP on here has, they purchased a Item from your online Ebay listing, and tried to contact you prior or after the sale.........
G. You nor any reps from your company responded back to them.........Hmmmm looks like a pattern on your end.
*update*
Thank you Louis for your email today, I am glad after 2 and a half months this issue is put to rest.
Hi Winston,
Louis R. has sent you a message on Yelp:
Rossmann Group review
"Hi Winston,
My assistant had been paying attention to the Yelp review for the past two and a half months. Of her own volition due to the very dead week we have had, she decided to look into what went on. She found it(she's a smart lady). You should appreciate this.
The three paragraph eBay message I had sent explaining how the display assembly parts work, asking you to confirm with your machine what part you needed, was in the drafts folder.
To confirm - I never sent it. This entire time I was operating under the idea that I had sent you a detailed and descriptive message telling you exactly how to tell if this was for you that expands on the listing, and it never went out.
She usually does customer service over email and the phone. If I have read a message, she assumes it is being dealt with by me. Had I left it to her(she is much smarter than I am), she would have written the response and actually hit send. b
This makes me a very big idiot. My sincerest apologies, Winston, for my idiocy. I am sorry. We have a Google places page, and resellerratings page, where I welcome you to share your 1 star experience with us, and especially - me(by name; I've earned it). If I were you, I'd want to throw rocks through our window. You're welcome to if you do make it back to New York someday. If not, drinks are on me."2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

To Louis:
This is the customer who brought his young daughter into your store last Sunday afternoon (May 6) and watched while you personally took charge to resolve a past issue with the screen repair job for my MacBook.
A public and sincere thanks for tackling the issue and resolving it. That's the way it's done. Your professionalism, honesty and care was exemplary. I wish you much success with your business. -

I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the repair. I paid for the service on eBay and shipped my Macbook Pro to them. They had the work done and back to me in a couple of weeks. It worked like a charm! I couldn't believe how cheap it was considering Apple wanted nearly $800.00 for the same service. Very Very impressed with these guys!

"It started with a broken phone... Yeah I'm gonna have to Yelp my S***!"
It shows on the phone with the spiderweb cracks: Some of her things get destroyed because she is frequently drinking as she is out to network or working on art/music locked up at a studio.
I had three options:
1. Use the AT&T insurance and pay a deductible and get a new phone:$200
2. Rossman group to get a new screen on a perfectly fine phone: $90
3. Look like a total drunkie loser and carry around a cracked phone: $0.
The answer is obvious.
As a starting musician, this place was surreal.
Outside of this place there were various musicians outside smoking and chatting about what projects they were working on. It turns out that this place is located in the basement of a building that had 8 floors of music studios.
I use the side door to go down some halls and buzz Rossman Group, who let me in and then was guided down more halls to a studio room that also functioned as their repair room.
I like it even though it seems like the most unlikely place.
(They are getting a new location/shop/store soon.)
I didn't even have to make an appointment.
I walked in and Louis was the one who replaced my cracked screen, talking about phones as he worked. He clearly did it a million times and my phone was good as new again.
I even got a new screen protector from John and it was nice to chat about the studio their workplace was in.
If these guys were doctors I'd say they were quite proper with good bedside manner. These technicians were hard at work for their various clients and it didn't take too long.
(Note this: In my book, it's not long if I am only there an hour after milling around so took my time in order to learn what they were doing. And if you would rather not, there are nice and comfortable couches in the waiting area. Could be a short wait of half an hour depending on how full it is.)
So naturally, this place was looking like a hidden gem
"I'll probably be back," I said.
And I was. What a bang for my buck. -

My iphone 4 screen was cracked, though still functioning, so I did some research on how to get it fixed: apple store can cost hundreds, new phone costs even more, and then there are all of these businesses that say they will repair it for 100-150 bucks. I found this company on yelp, read the reviews and decided to check it out since it was within walking distance to my work.
Here's the thing: If you can't handle a little New York City-Weirdness, this place isn't for you. Go pay 250 at the apple store. If you like a little adventure, read on.
The business set up will seem sketchy or be off-putting to most people. This place is located in the basement of a gross building in midtown west, near Penn Station. I had to walk past rolling dumpsters of trash to get to a poorly marked door and find a tiny sign that said I was in the right place. It felt a little bit like a scene out of Blade Runner.
Once I buzzed and was let in (Hit #1), things improved, slightly. The place is obviously used my multiple people, a shared music/tech space. So you walk past several doors, a weird windowless waiting room with mismatched carpet, salvation army furnishings and wrinkled posters on the concrete walls before arriving into a large studio space with worn leather couches that also acts as the repair area.
The guy who buzzed me in and did the repair work was polite and clear spoken. He told me to have a seat and went into the next room and sat at a desk and did the work. It took about 30 minutes (he apologized for it taking so long) and there it was: my perfectly fixed iphone. He asked for 90 bucks and I just gave him 100 cash, I was so pleased with the work.
Bottom line: Great iphone repair work, fast and honest, cheaper than most, ignore the creepy office space.Comment from Louis R. of The Rossmann Group 4/24/2012

Ok so I have no idea how anyone can give these guys anything more than five stars. This is my very first review, though I have also spent the past few days raving about Rossmann Group to anyone and everyone I encounter.
On Saturday afternoon, I set my Macbook (OLD, way out of warranty) on the edge of my bed, hopped on and watched as my laptop took a tumble right onto the top edge of the screen. I picked it up, and with trepidation turned it back on. It worked, and that's awesome, but 3/4 of the screen were just completely messed up, cracks, black spots, rainbow lines, the works.
I tried to get an immediate appointment at the Genius Bar but found that I'd have to wait 4 hours, and did some googling. I found out that at the Mac Store this would cost several hundred dollars to fix. I also found out that there was a place in the East Village (only 10 minutes away, assuming the L train was running, which it wasn't) that would fix it for under $200. AND THEY DID.
Not only did I get a "we just opened an actual store front and are looking for customers" discount to $150 + tax (down from $180 + tax) but they literally fixed it in 10 minutes while I stood there asking about a million questions.
Here's the situation:
1. I cannot speak highly enough about these guys
2. It was WAY cheaper than it would be at the Mac Store, or even one of their local competitors ($250-ish at other places)
3. IT. WAS. DONE. SO. FAST.
4. My new screen has a 1 year warranty (except from dropping it off my bed again)
5. Everything ran super smoothly and any question about my computer or smart phones or ipods or whatever were answered in a way that was thorough but simple enough for me to understand it

Service as advertised. 90 bucks, iPhone 4 screen repair in a half hour. Bring a book or newspaper to read.
Go into the freight entrance, at the back, hit the buzzer for #1. -

Pretty amazing. Brought my cracked-screen iPhone in Thursday afternoon (no appointment) and it was immediately whisked away to the repair room. Half an hour later, perfect iPhone at less than half of what the Apple store quoted me for (and made me wait at their genius bar to find out, too). Rossman also use real parts, not knock-offs, so even little things like the motion proximity sensor still work, apparently not a guarantee if you get it done elsewhere.
It's a little tricky to get to - you go into the freight entrance, go to the back, then find the doorbell. -

Went on vacation. Dropped my macbook, cracked the LCD screen. =(
I contacted Apple and they wanted to charge me $900!!! For that much, I mind as well buy a new one!!! I soon googled "macbook repairs nyc" and The Rossmann Group Inc popped up and the price of $150. I instantly called and they said it would take about 40 minutes?!!!
I thought it was too good to be true, a little shady ...even a scam.
The building was near a rock club--so I instantly thought I was in the wrong place. It's located inside the basement--the entrance is right across from a freight elevator. Long story short -- I met Louis and he instantly went to work on my mac. He did it right in front of me, and in less than 40 minutes--plus I had free entertainment-- while I waited--a rapper recorded in their studio.
.He made it look so simple! He just handed me my old cracked "glossy black screen" and replaced it with a new one.
So listen up people, do you have a cracked Blackberry, Iphone, Macbook? The Rossmann Group Inc-- is the reason why I'm writing this review now. =) Thanks Louis!!!! =) -

This is The ONLY place to go for your Mac woes!!
....My glass screen was accidentally cracked and between Luis on the phone the night prior and John replacing the glass I couldn't have had a better experience, AND they charged me a fair price 140!! while other MacPredators were trying to charge me up to 4 times that amount!!
John cared for my mac like it was his own and as I sat and watched, he explained what he was doing.. (he's a self proclaimed perfectionist), for the money one spends on a mac I ONLY want a perfectionist putting his hands on my laptop; also watching the work he did i will back his proclamation..
thanks to John! Luis! and the nice lady who let me sit down :) red bulls are on me next time :) -

THE BEST! One of those rare finds where you get top notch service at a more than fair price. Frankly, their price to fix my LCD seemed too good to be true. So I was skeptical that there was a catch or the business might not be legit. But the Yelp reviews were good, and I needed my screen fixed right away, so I decided to take a chance. And boy am I glad I did!! I was so happy with the service that I just want to tell everyone I know about John and Louis - so they too can get electronic repairs done quickly and at a reasonable price.
John did my repair, and he really knows his stuff. Plus, he's a really good guy!! It turned out that I needed my hinges fixed as well as my screen, but I needed to come back the next day for the hinge because it wasn't in stock. They normally charge more for the hinge replacement if it's not done at the same time as the LCD - because it means taking the entire computer apart again. I needed the computer that evening and was prepared to suffer through the hassle of he messed up screen, and come back the next day to get the lower price of having the two repairs done at the same time. But John absolutely insisted on doing the screen repair while I was there, and charging me the lower the next day for the hinge. He was more bothered than I was about the thought of me doing my work with the screen messed up, which did make it take longer.
It's not often that you come across people who care more about the customer than their own profit margin.
Thank you, John!! And thank you Louis. You guys really are the best.
I'll be coming back for all my repairs and calling for more helpful advice about computers and phones, prices and what not. -

Sailing=fun!
Getting back on land and noticing I broke my Blackberry screen=unfun!
The Rossman Group replaced the screen on my Blackberry for $60, which is much less than what their competitors charge.
You place the order on their website, mail in your phone, and they fix it and mail it back to you.
Before I placed my order and mailed my phone, I had left them a message to see if I could bring in my phone or they could pick it up from me in person, but they never called back so minus one star for that. But in the end it worked out perfectly.
Thank you.Comment from Louis R. of The Rossmann Group 5/26/2011

I was surprised Louis didn't have more reviews on Yelp so I had to do him some justice.
I just got back from getting my unibody MacBook 15 inch's LCD repaired while I waited at Rossman's Studio / workshop. It was done in under 2 hours and only set me back $140 though I had gotten a quote for $800 for parts in labor (and 5-7 days) at a local Mac shop. Turns out the fracture on my screen was only the glossy "glass" overlay and he had no problems meticulously swapping it out while I waited.
His workshop is a bit unconventional but conversing with the guy while he does his business, you can tell he is an expert at his craft. Aside from the unbelievable price compared to the "authorized" dealers, his turn-around time is ridiculous. No reservations, no lines, just swing by his workshop anytime 8am-8pm during the work week. He repairs just the LCD, just the glass, or both and offers free shipping for mail order work. Can't be beat IMHO. -

This place is fast and cost efficient with good customer service. It is a little hard to find and a little weird to get to. It does look like a college smoke den, half recoding studio half tech shop. However the staff is really nice. FYI this is a temp location they will be moving to a normal shop in the near future.

AMAZING! Very quick and profession work. I cracked my macbook pro screen and not only did they fix it for cheap, but also told me one of my hinges was broken and offered to fixed that as well. Apple said they would do it for $900 and take a week...The Rossmann Group did it in 30 minutes for $130 for the screen and $50 for the hinge. I even got to sit there and watch them do it. The guys there are really nice as well.
Although the area is sketchy, the people and work are easily 5 starts. I highly recommend this place DEFINITELY if you are in the new york area. -

John the Amazing fixed my cracked MacBook proscreen, and his name says it all--amazing. They replaced a very expensive glossy screen with a beautifully matte LCD for $290. Most places charge at least $400 for this repair. The entire fix was done in less than half an hour.
Great service, great product, great guys and great price. Would highly recommend. -

Ok so my macbook's screen decided to play tricks on me and go practically dark a week before grad school starts up again. The thought of going to the Apple store or to Tekserve to get it fixed made me shudder. I knew what the issue was with my macbook, I just needed someone to fix it. After doing a google search I found The Rossmann Group. So I called. Told him what my issue was. He knew what I was talking about right away, quoted me a price. I asked how long it would take, and just KNEW it was gonna be at least an overnight kinda thing. Dude said a couple of hours. Umm... say what? You mean I don't have to leave my baby who knows where for some crazy length of time? I'm sold. I showed up at around 12:45 and was out of there with my brand new screen at 2:00. The only reason it took so long was because he was finishing up with someone else when I walked in.
This place is like in a dungeon somewhere and I almost turned around and left because I don't do basements of buildings on the west side of midtown by myself. Apparently it's also some kind of recording studio. Kinda cool. Everyone was friendly, my macbook never left my sight as it was being repaired and I'm happy. -

My Blackberry Bold's screen started flickering, and then died completely. I'm a shameless Blackberry addict, and needed it fixed ASAP. Based on Yelp reviews, I went to these guys.
When I got there, they explained that they do most of their work business-to-business, by way of apologizing for their space not being set up for the comfort of walk-in clients: you have go through the building's freight entrance, and they have a warehouse-y space in the basement with a couple of couches in the front area.
But the group of youngish guys working down there were fantastic. They were surprisingly friendly and personable, and really knew their stuff in the effortless way of true techies. Ten minutes after I walked in, my blackberry had been expertly disassembled, cleaned, a new LCD screen put in, and reassembled. He even gave me the broken part to show what had happened. The phone now works great.
They didn't try to deviate from the price they had quoted me on the phone -- $100 -- which I thought was more than fair. Really glad I found these guys.
