The Riviera Supper Club & Turquoise Room features a unique experience of service where you can choose to grill your steaks yourself at the communal grill and offers numerous cuts of meat, not interested in doing the grilling? We will grill for you and we also have a great selection of entrees and appetizers that are prepared for you. Extensive craft cocktail list, great beer selection and live music most nights in the turquoise room.

I have only gone here for late night snacking and karaoke. I think their late night apps are great. I was impressed the first time I went as I wasn't expecting much. Their drinks were good too. The vibe was dead, but my friend and I had fun as we liked chill places.
We decided to return for Karaoke. We arrived at 9. The karaoke there was a lot of an older crowd. My fiance commented you could smell the desperation and regrets. I still had fun and liked the atmosphere. The problem is that karaoke ends at 11PM. What?! The bar didn't close till midnight. Super disappointing.
I still like the food and their drinks, but their late night crowd is 40 and up. Apparently, they go to bed early.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Khristopher T.San Diego, CA185147105Mar 22, 2024
One of La Mesa's old-time favorites... you feel like you're stuck in the swanky 50s...
Cook your own meal on the grill (great social experience meeting your fellow chefs) or have them prepare your delicious entrées... Mostly meat options, so make sure you eat meat...
Drinks are awesome and Music happens a couple nights a week as well.

The food was good. I had Prime rib with baked potato and creamed spinach. Buyer beware they are priced individually.
The service was very slow I sat in the bar area to eat. However once I placed my order the food did come out quickly and it was hot.
The ambiance of the place is just your typical bar with music playing from the 50's.
My waiter whose name I didn't get was friendly a little slow on attention but overall not a bad experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tonto N.San Diego, CA715313Nov 19, 2023
Went here with a group. Had the prime rib, burgers, chicken Parm and for apps the blue cheese tots and burnt end sausage. Our salad were the wedges. With regard to the tots- I have had these in many places but the chef nailed it and the blue cheese bacon and chilli oil made them even better. Sausage was paired with a stone ground mustard that was incredible. Prime rib was cooked to perfection and lean. Portions tended to be larger than average. Someone in our group had the French onion soup with gruyere cheese. This I tried and was very impressed. Nailed the stock and cheese combination. This is too rich for one person if having a main meal. All the food was flavorful and delicious. Old School steak house vibe. Try the old school Esquire Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives - Incredible! I want to come back for the cook your own steak option and have a steak sandwich. Many elements including the service was 4 or 5 stars. I give this place 4.5 which is not an option in yelp. Too bad. I rounded up. Parking in the lot and surrounding area is just right. I will come back when they have live music
Try it you'll like it!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Feb 25, 2024
Great happy hour! Bar was unfortunately full when we arrived, waited for a while standing inside but no one was leaving and there's really no standing room. Finally ended up ordering at the bar and sitting on the small patio outside ( 3 tables). Drinks and tots were yummy, tots have a kick. Will be back.

I sat at the bar and just had appetizers and a few drinks.
I'm in a wheelchair and the staff and customers were very good about helping me. Take a seat and get adjusted.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Staci D.La Mesa, CA04Apr 18, 2024
Love this place. It's like stepping back in time. There's an option to cook your own steak, which I have never wanted to do.. really cool place- live music, dim lit lighting. It's a supper club, unique. Food is great- we usually just order the appetizers and a couple drinks and always have a great night here.

I'm no steak person, but there is plenty more available here. Ambiance is great for date nights and evenings out with friends, with live music on many nights in the turquoise room (bar area). They also have a large patio area to accommodate groups.
Their happy hour is awesome, half off cocktails and appetizers! Portions aren't huge, but all the food and drinks I had were delish.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Monica C.La Mesa, CA63754Mar 25, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations

It's a bit loud in the restaurant, hard to talk with others.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott S.Seattle, WA741Apr 14, 2024
We ended up having dinner at the Riviera when we were out in the area trying to find another restaurant which had closed. The Riviera looked cool so we decided to check it out. We had the best experience there. (This was about a year ago when we were visiting San Diego for a month.) We sat at a super comfy booth in the lounge, one of the owners (Tommy I think) came over and sat with us for a minute and told us a little history of the restaurant. He later brought us our drinks - he made me the best Aviation I've ever had, which included a burnt lemon peel. I'm forgetting what my husband ate, but what really stood out for me is my immensely delicious vegan entree. I believe it was a beet "steak" and a couple other vegan concoctions (sweet potato and something else). I rarely encounter a vegan entree that is this elaborate and delicious and I was super happy about it. Everything about the place was great and we would love to return next time we're in the area.
