As a single young lady who devotes her life to her job and makes it common to cancel on friends because she needs to stay late and finish "one more thing," it's nice when her job tells her she's a good girl and puts her up at the Ritz.
**Before you get jealous, I'm pretty sure my work got one hell of a discount thanks to our stay being in the middle of something that rhymes with Burricane Beason.**
The Ritz(y) Staff was beyond nice. As in, if you intentionally tripped a waiter at breakfast, he'd probably thank you and ask for another.
Housekeeping did a spotless job, and I saved the daily chocolates placed on my pillow until the last night and then gobbled them all at once. Extra points because, as a failed bulimic, the sweets were so scrumptious I didn't even throw them up (take that, SF Weekly!).
The ballroom was perfect for our formal event and the beach house ideal for our daily celebrations. They even projected our company logo on the side of the hotel!
Private Beach = Soft Sand + Warm Water + Jet Ski Rentals. The lightning was amazing and even the sudden afternoon rainshowers were welcome. Not a bad first time in the Gulf of Mexico
Sidenote: After staring at the ocean for hours, I realized my uncle was joking when he said you can see people approaching on rafts from Cuba. :(

Ok, so now I'm on the run from the storm....and it seems to be following me...buhaahhahahah
Side note - For a long time I had this fear that where ever I went I brought bad events....mostly from the 3 events that happened int eh PI. First there was the earthquake that hit after I left...bringing down the hotel I was staying at. The 2nd time Mt. Pinatubo erupted after I left Manila. And the 3rd time....well, I stayed across the street from the hotel US President Bush was going too...I know what bad luck...
;D
Anyways....I figure if I'm going to run away from a storm, why not to this great hotel...as good as any other Ritz surrounded with the beautiful surrounding Naples. The drinks at the bar are fantastic...the food is delish...and I don't know any other fabulous beach terms to throw around for my experience.
Still wish the sun would come out....and maybe I could relax.
nah
The thing is....I'm one of those people that can't sleep without some background noise....the Ritz is just so far removed form anything. I just get really bored when there isn't some noise some where...even with the storm following me....bleh.
;D

Great place to stay but avoid the Grill. Had a terrible experience, actually scolded the waiter for the poor service, he really didn't care. Wished I had just gone down the road to Ruth's Chris.
Valet promptly opened my door for me and whisked away my horrible rental car. Doorman greeted me at the door, escorted me to the front desk and introduced me by name to the gentleman who handled my check-in. Bell hop showed up within five minutes of my arrival to my beautiful and impeccably clean room. I have an unobstructed view of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Dinner shortly in one of their restaurants. Life is good at Ritz-Carlton. You really can't go wrong with any of their properties, not that I've stayed at all of them, but it's a worthy goal.
The other reviewers all missed the point. Yes, the facilities, location, rooms and food are all wonderful. But the most outstanding thing here is the people. Each waiter and waitress, fitness center staff member, beach staff, pool staff, shopkeeper, bellboy, chambermaid, room service waiter--you name it--was absolutely nicer than the the last, seeming to geniunely take pleasure in providing the most delightful service possible. (We were there during off-season and it was not too crowded, so admittedly that could make some difference.) Just one example: a 7-year old in our party, while not with her parents, fell and scraped her elbow. She was instantly swept up by hotel staff, cleaned up and band-aided, brought to the gift shop where she was presented with a plush stuffed monkey--which was given a band-aid on the same spot on its elbow--and delivered to her parents. Another example: when we finally had to leave, we all hugged and kissed the waitress who served us at breakfast every day. Or: the fitness center staff who would bring over cold washcloths in the middle of a workout. Moreover, many of the staff were not only that nice and hospitable, but had personalities as well and were a pleasure to talk to. They call this the hospitality industry, and this was perhaps the first time I have experienced industrial hospitality at its best. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This is truly one of my favorite locations in the country. From the hotel property to the location on the beach it is absolutely breathtaking. From Check in to Check out it is a first class property. Along the way the pool service is excellant, room service is always on time with delicious food. The bar at the beach club serves up amazing cold drinks for those hot and humid florida days. I have never stayed at the golf property so dont get them confused you want to stay on the beach and enjoy that sunset with a cold margarita or mojito in your hand. Take a stroll around the property and you walk through a beautiful rose garden, or just sit in a rocking chair and watch the ocean breezes blow through the palm trees. Royal palm trees of course that line the entrance up of the long driveway. Make sure you have a 1g card in your camera you are going to want to take a ton of pictures to show family and friends at home. You can't go wrong here.
Rooms are outstanding, pool service is excellent although the bar closes at 5:00pm in the summer with another three hours of daylight, which seems a bit weird. The beach is a Gulf beach and very nice, with a restaturant right on the beach that serves some pretty wicked food. The same, however, cannot be said of the stuffy and overpriced steakhouse on the property, or the truly dreadful Italian eatery over at the Ritz Carlton golf property up the hill a few miles. Entertainment in the main lobby is ancient-school and caters to the 70-something crowd, but needs some refreshing for the rest of us. The bar is cool, with pool tables and televisions and a bit more updated entertainment. The good news is that you are in Naples, and that there are dozens of other great places to eat and drink. Enjoy the hotel room, the pool and the beach. if Ritz gets its act together on the food side everywhere but the beach, so much the better!
