I was beyond excited when my dad told me we'd be staying at the Ritz for a family event.  Originally we were booked to stay at the Hampton Inn but he apparently got an amazing deal.  The place was absolutely gorgeous - from the lobby to the rooms, and even the driveway up to the main entrance.

We didn't end up going to the pool here because there's a free shuttle that takes you to the beach at the other Ritz Carlton, which runs every 30 minutes. (On a separate note, it was kinda lame that you have to pay for umbrellas on the beach, but I guess that's the Ritz.)  We did, however, enjoy the fruit drinks they had set up in the lobby for guests.

The beds were comfy - if you like soft beds - and the turn-down service (with chocolates) was also excellent.  The bathroom had a separate room for the toilet, which is very convenient when you're not the only person in the room.  The A/C is powerful and each room has its own temperature control.

My only regret for the weekend was that I couldn't stay longer.  Not that I hope the economy stays in a recession or anything, but I seriously hope that the Ritz keeps having crazy deals.

What an awesome, incredible Ritz. The interior decor is all bright and inviting. Gorgeous furniture and a huge lobby. We went to see a Greg Norman golf tournament and we were treated like kings.

Everyone at the Ritz is a total professional. We sat down in the middle of the day to eat and I got the most delicious salmon lunch I have ever had, then ordered the most delicious pistachio ice cream in the world. The ice cream is hard to describe because it was more nut than cream. I do not know how they held it all together and if I could buy this somewhere I would have it shipped to my home.

All in all it was one of the most memorable meals that I have ever eaten and my Mom agrees. We splurged and got the valet parking too. Ritz, golf, food, valet. All in all, a once in a lifetime day.
