How can you complain about this place? We have been going there for 25+ years now. My parents own own of the Neagle units; the largest you can own, a 2 bd. 2 ba 1450 sq. foot!

We went there this year with just one other couple so the place was large enough and the bedrooms were far enough apart to not be bothered if you know what I mean.

Do you want to go to the jacuzzi, place indoor tennis or just got to the bar for happy hour, this place has it all. You can rent movies there, get a shuttle down to the casinos (and now they charge $5 each way which is just crazy since they just started doing that!)

This place is just great and I hope that I will be coming here for the next 25+ years. I will upload some pics later of the place later.

We arrived here at 1am .. and realized hey we don't know where the lobby is. turns out we had to go to the kiosk before the resort to check in, which is on a SLOPE. really, waiting on a slope during snow season? not safe!

we found our building (naeglee) and realized that the elevator stops at level 2 and we were at level 1, so we had to cart our stuff to level 2, then walk it down another level ... what a pain!

at least the cabin was really nice! we had two bedrooms, with two queens or so beds, with two full baths, one with a full bathtub REALLLY nice, and a shower stand with two shower jets.

they even had banana nut bread ready in the fridge to welcome us =) the kitchen is really nice, and fully furnished.

the hot water is apparently always hot and ready! thank goodness.

the heater is funny, because it turns out during the morning til night, and when you sleep its off, and its freaking cold, especially with my paranoia about the top blanket and how i don't want to use it. so basically layered on PJs and slept very uncomfortably.

if you are late on check out, its additional $20/hr. not bad since we were late starters.

The Ridge has a special place in my heart...I got married here in 2007! It's a nice, affordable place for a wedding and reception. Guests can stay on the premises for decent rates, and there's plenty to entertain kids. The food was decent for the reception, and the event planner was awesome. It is like having a wedding coordinator for free! Natalie was on the ball with recommendations for everything - music, cake, reverend, flowers, everything.
It was a bit annoying that guests had to call a single person to make reservations under our rate, and she was busy and slow to get back to people sometimes, but it all worked out in the end.
We stayed at the Ridge before and after our wedding in the winter. It's great access to Heavenly -it's right at the base of the backside. Decent rates on ski rentals too. The rooms are nice, especially the suites. They are big with kitchens. Very nice for a group or family. It's a good place for families overall. They have basketball courts (indoor), a spa, a movie theater, and lots more.

September 2009.
This is review for Ridge Tahoe. One of the Ridge Resorts.
This is my 3rd time in this resort in the past 6 years. You can see that I am a fan. Although I have to say, this time, I encountered some minor unpleasant issues.
First the good things:
1- good view !! If you get  the higher floors, you can actuall see lake tahoe ! Quiet place ( away from the Casinos). This might be a minus for others, but it is a plus for me! I wanted to relax. Besides, Casinos are only 3 miles away, and I enjoy driving down the winding road (well, maybe not in winter). It was close to nature,  I saw birds, deers and some old people who appeard to be lost :)).
It is true what other said about the Wind. In my week long stay in Sept, 2 days were very windy. But this is what you get when you living on top of a hill right??
2- rooms are nice, big and well equipped. (I alway get the 2 bedroom suite).
3- nice amenities in the resort. Pools, saunas..etc.

Ok, now the unpleasant things that creep up this time:
1- Internet was down over the weekend, and no one is there to help until Monday. They must have contracted the internet service with someone outside. I don't understand why their tech support was not 24/7. Oh, and it was not Free. I saw some people complained about it in yelp, and I have experienced it myself, and also I talked to other vacationers in the lobby and they all had Internet problems. So, if you are counting on using internet while staying at the Ridge Tahoe, don't bother.
2- For some reason, they stop giving Shampoo. I did not know about this, I asked a few times and everytime they seems to stall my request saying :" I will see if I can find some"...etc. Until I finally "confronted" the cleaning lady, and she told me they don't give shampoos anymore (and till this day, I still can't believe it, who packs shampoos for their week long vacation???) Maybe, it is one of their cost cutting measures, but I don't like it.

My friend owns a timeshare condo here, and we'll come here every winter to hit the slopes and hang out over the weekend. We just came back from our last trip here this weekend to celebrate a birthday. No snow yet so we didn't snowboard so we just enjoyed the change of scenery and the Lake Tahoe nightlife scene.

Everyone pretty much covered the jist of this resort.... here are my pros and cons about it...

THE GOOD: It's very spacious and clean, and I love how the showers have two shower heads on either side of it so you are completely covered with water from all angles. Fully stocked kitchen is very convenient and makes it feel more "homey".

THE BAD: I concur that the TVs are on the smaller side though. And it does take a while to get to from the casinos and downtown area. And let's not forget that it's a total DEAD ZONE. My poor phone was searching for service the entire time we were there, to no avail.

Other than that, it's a nice place to stay and is very comfortable. As long as my friend owns his timeshare, we will return again and again. =)

Just got back...not impressed.  just a note, Wi-Fi isn't free.

Reservations made months in advanced got messed up?  How the hell does that happen?  Is there someone there who has the inability to write, mark a F-in calender, then try to provide a solution when the time arrives?  YOU HAD MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys wasted my stupid day, lugging 4 people's luggage to and from 2 damn rooms, back into the car, saying we can go to the TOWERS but the room isn't ready yet.  WTF????

THEN, the husband who set all of this up for his WIFE'S 30th BIRTHDAY spend his F-IN day trying top fix your stupid "mistake."

All he wanted was 3 suites in the same building...close by.  What did we get?  Two suites in the Cascade and one in Terrece.  the 2 Cascades suite were pretty close by, if you consider a floor as being close.  The suites were right on top of each other, not even on the same damn floor you stupid incompetent retards who can't even organize when you have to go drop a deuce without consulting your calender.

Here's how close the other room was, the one I stayed in.
1.  Exit room
2.  Take elevator to 2nd floor
3,.  Walk my ass down the hallways to the end of the building.
4.  Exit building and walk on the OPEN catwalk, IN THE SNOW, to the other building.
5.   Enter Cascades with my ass freezing.
6.  Go to elevator
7.  Press "1" and take elevator from 6th to 1st floor.
8.  Walk to middle of building to other party's room.

That is 6 steps too much.

Here is your compensation after my friend spent his time, HIS VACATION TIME, talking to you...
1.  50 bucks off of each nights stay for each room.
- WTF?  is that it?  You screw up our stay, make us waste time fixing your stupid $#%( and that is the best you can do?  50 bucks is jack diddle squat.  Do you have any idea how insignificant 50 bucks is?

2.  Underground parking
-  This was nice, but it doesn't fix jack.

That was it.  Suck it Ridge...never coming back.

I shall mark the bubble for "It Really Doesn't F-IN Matter' under "Takes Reservation?"

My only highlight....the guy who got us more towels is hella fast an the guy in the front booth is charming and nice.  Everyone in the top building in the lobby you can SUCK MY FAT ..................

I really enjoy staying at this place when i visit Tahoe.

The rooms are clean and cozy, and the beds are very comfortable. The views from some of the rooms are really nice, too. They have alot of activities of you are traveling with kids, such as a pool and arcade room, as well as handball and tennis courts.

I wouldn't recommend getting a massage here, though. I once got a massage here after a long day of snowboarding and it was a bit awkward. The lady giving me the massage wouldn't stop talking to me and she was blasting her ipod. It wasn't so bad that i was insulted or that i wanted the massage to be over, but it was just a awkward/funny situation that seemed a bit unprofessional.

All in all i really like this place and would love to stay here again when visiting Tahoe.

We had our wedding reception there as well as us and most of our guests stayed there during the wedding weekend. It's such a great deal for your money and the food was amazing. The girls who helped us were extremely nice and helpful. The pictures from out side came out beautiful. The actual ceremony site is small, but we got married in the Catholic Church in town so we didn't have to worry about that.

I highly recommend this site for anyone looking to have their wedding in the area.

We stayed at this resort for one night, which was a mistake, because it is more the type of place that you should stay at for at least two days in order to take advantage to fully take advantage of how nice it is and the different fun things they have in their facilties (indoor pool, jacuzzi, spa, raquetball, restaurant, tavern, etc). It is the sort of place that you stay at for a couple of days just to relax, not just as a place to crash on the way to Reno (which is what we did).
The room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, I really liked it and will definitely stay there again- just for longer next time.

Hmmm..

The room wasn't bad.... warm... well insulated... spacious... all the appliances worked.

The room seemed a bit loud though... maybe it was the location in being a very central room in the complex we got a lot of noise from the hallways and such.

On top of that... the pool was closed... and the jucuzzi was closed, and we got the run-around from management about that..... Supposedly the pump wasn't working, but they weren't willing to plow out the path so that maintenance could access the room.  The story that we got from other people were that kids were getting "rashes" from the chemicals in the water.  Either way, it's still a maintenance issue that should have been fixed.

The Ridge is a full service time share condo complex.  When I say complex, I mean it's huge.  We own a week in the summer but have traded for winter too.  We've also met people who rent people's weeks.  Check Craig's List for Sac or Reno...or you can call the
Ridge and they sometimes have owners who put it up for sale for a week.  We always stay in a 2 bed/2 bath.  They all have full kitchens and some have big patios.  Here are the amenities:

*Two pools
*Arcade
*Restaurant/Bar/Deli
*Spas in every building as well as at both pools
*Tennis courts
*Wallyball courts
*Organized activities including rock climbing, exercise, hikes
*Small movie room
*Kids club with activies for kids (supervised)
*Daytime bus to the casinos/Nightime it costs $5
*BBQs either on your patio or in your building
*Golf green (for putting)
*Full service spa

Winter
*Gondola to Stagecoach
*Ski rental on property
*Ski storage
*Busses to other lodges

Wedding Wonderland

I planned to have my destination wedding here and got way more than I anticipated (in a good way).  The location of the resort confirms it's name, placed right on the Ridge it offers gorgeous valley views.  The ceremony site is a bit small and located between two buildings and off of the parking lot.  Every effort has been made to increase privacy and preserve the intimacy of the ceremony site.  The rocks and platform where the ceremony occurs provided us with a beautiful backdrop for many of our wedding pictures.

The coordination services that Kailey and Rhonda provided ROCKED!! These girls really know how to make each bride feel like 'the only one'.  Planning this wedding from so far away was difficult and they helped make my day WONDERFUL.  They made every accommodation and incorporated all of our requests.

The food was awesome! We had ordered the in room platters during the morning of the wedding and it was worth it. The head chef also took the time to deliver the platters to our rooms.  It's these nice little considerations that added to our experience.  The only thing was that we were supposed to have gotten beverages, but in the busyness of the day it got overlooked.  We also had our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant the salmon and chicken were very good.  Our wedding buffet was also very tasty and the shrimp scampi pasta is a must.  I could not get enough.  The prime rib and onion roll pop over was soooo goooood.  Our guests definitely ate well.  Coming from Hawaii and after attending several weddings at 'high end hotels' like the  Sheraton and Hilton, and at various country clubs I can honestly say that this was the most delicious wedding food ever!!!

The rooms:  The room we had was in the Plaza Building, and it was obviously part of a time share.  The rooms were clean and the double headed showers was awesome.  We were in the suite and it came with a full kitchen and washer and dryer.  We were able to wash our clothes in room before we headed out for our honeymoon- a true lifesaver.  The only negatives were that the bed could have used some updating and it seemed a little saggy and old.

This was our third and last visit to the Ridge. It took two hours to check in, because I refused to leave until they honored the special offer they had sent me via an email. They gave us a room overlooking the corner of the tennis court. When we asked for another, they gave us one in another building that was actually occupied. That was embarrassing. The third attempt yielded a much better room and view. The housekeeping staff woke us up two hours before check out to ask if we "needed anything". On check out, I presented a credit card for payment, but they ignored that and charged it to the wrong card (the one we had used to book the room). I've just spent literally seven hours, on the phone between the Ridge and my credit union, getting the Ridge to LISTEN to my instructions to fax a request to release the funds!! I'm disgusted. Lastly, the Concierge booked us two tickets to Shakespeare on the beach, but when we got there, there was no record of it! Fortunately the box office took pity on us. On the positive side, the views can be outstanding, if you are a "squeaky wheel" and insist on viewing the room before deciding whether to stay in it. Don't be enticed by the fact that you can hike, play tennis, go to "happy hour", etc. at the Ridge. It's often very windy up there and you just end up paying huge room fees that include all these extras, but the real fun and beauty awaits you on the trails, on the lake, exploring the whole Lake Tahoe Area. Stay somewhere else.

My husband, step daughter and I rented a 1 bdrm suite here.  The suite came with 2 lift tickets for Heavenly and 2 $10 breakfast vouchers at the deli.  The suite was very large and comfortable.  The bathroom had a large whirlpool tub and stand up shower.  My step daughter slept on the pull out bed from the couch. There is an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi on the top floor.  They had a gondola that took us to the base of the Heavenly lift.  This was so convenient to not have to drive and park.  They even provided shuttles to pick us up at the base of the ski slope to our hotel.  The overall stay was very good and I would stay here again or recommend it to others.

the ridge resort is HUGE, they own a lot of property and have different buildings scattered throughout.

for this review, i'll focus more on customer service and the Crest property which is where i stayed.

just a note: the bulk of Tramway Drive is one way - we made a booboo and tried to go down a one way street - oops!  that's what makes it a little inconvenient if you're staying up at this resort. you have to make a full loop around just to get from one side of the property to the other.

anyways, so we get to the Crest and the online email that i printed out said specifically "special instruction: check in at the Crest". so we finally get to the darn place and the door is locked......... but the email said to check in there!  so we end up driving up to the main property which is all the way on the other side of the loop and we go to the Club building to check in.  the woman at the front desk was a little snooty and told us that we should have received a letter saying to check in at the View... and that no one is actually stationed at the Crest so you can't check in there.. go figure.

so the woman at the front desk at the Club building checks us in but then tells us we have to back to the View building to pick up our parking permit - wow really? you couldn't just give us one there??? they all look THE SAME.

so we finally make it back to the Crest and let me tell you, it looks pretty janky right now. yes it's off season and their doing repairs and construction on the building before the ski season hits but really, could you keep the hallway and public areas clean? there was construction debris inside beyond the locked doors.  part of the wall finishes were coming off and mismatched paint jobs were trying to cover up some spots, i was REALLY worried that we were going to be stuck in some crappy place for the next two days...  but when you get to the actual rooms! they were pretty nice!  we stayed in a one bedroom suite that had a pretty good size living area, a small fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and really nicely furnished bedroom with a huge comfy bed!  woohoo!!!! i guess all the crap you see in the front is worth it once you see the rooms. (although, note to the ridge management: you need a new tile setter).  everything in the room was pretty nice, there wasn't a long wait for the hot water in the shower either!

our room was on the first level of the building so we didn't really have a great view.  you probably would have much better views if you stay up at the Club or the Tower buildings.

also, i would not recommend staying at the Crest if you're someone who relies on room service, because no one is stationed there, NO ONE.

oh p.s. NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION, so if you get lost, you're screwed... it's like that verizon commercial, except really. it is a dead zone (but no scratchy towels)

My family has had timeshares at this location for at least 10 years. I came here every year while I was in middle and high school. While I don't ski, snowboard, or generally like snow, I come here during the winter as a nice getaway from the normal reality of life. The suites here sleep six and are large. It's basically a large hotel community with large suites instead of one bed/one bath rooms that are crappy for families looking to vacation. Instead you get a full kitchen, two large bathrooms, two king sized beds, a pull out couch, and a flip on fireplace.
The accommodations are awesome. There is a restaurant, a deli, spa, pools, wallyball courts, game room, bar, marketplace, tennis courts, ping pong tables, gondola to Heavenly, snow shoe hikes, and more. There's something for every kid in the family.
We went there this past February during the largest storm of the season. While we were snowed into the area, we still found fun in the gameroom, boozed it up during happy hour and ate at the (somewhat overpriced) restaurant. While our parents were worried that we may starve and freeze to death being snowed in and all, we were probably enjoying better accommodations than staying in their extra bedroom.
The Ridge has different buildings, the Terrace, the Crest, the Towers, etc etc. Each building has it's own perks, but everyone shares the basics.
Cool place to stay. Right at the base of the hotel/condo entrance is the base of the Nevada side Heavenly. So you really don't have to go far in order to enjoy your lift ticket.
The only thing that sucks is that it's up a huge hill and takes 20 minutes to get to and from the casinos, if not longer. Also, the rooms in some of the buildings are getting old and the upkeep is not so great. My last room had peeling wallpaper and silly string on the ceiling. Also, the tv's are from 1990... so don't expect modern conveniences. But who's staying in their room anyway?
