Just not what it used to be when the lacy bras and panties clung to the ceiling. I recall reading the Elkhorn Independent "Police on Patrol" as a kid and it seemed that there was never a week that went by when the cops weren't called to help quell a drunken townie fight.
Apparently, this is the county hot spot on Wednesday nights when the bar gets filled for "ladies night." The pickens are slim here, and the ratio of guys to girls is at least a factor of one hundred. Any other night, the crowds here are slim and oftentimes, although we can never figure it out, the place smells like cow dung.

This tavern might be some locals favorite but it's just way too dark and dingy for me. There are no windows at all and I don't think a place could be much smokier. If you don't smoke - don't even walk in the corridor that leads to this place - even that stinks of smoke. I can't think of anything positive to say about this place. Sorry.
This place is outstanding. The calling card of the tavern formerly known as "Kelly's " was it's famous collection of lacy thongs and bras left by happy female patrons which hung provocatively from the ceiling behind the bar. Sadly, ownership changed and they opted to replace them with a shrine to both Brett Favre and gun deer season. Welcome to Wisconsin, eh?
At any rate, Thursday-Saturday nights are always busy, but not so much that you can't walk around and meet people. They have a great sound system, DJs spin frequently, a great jukebox full of classic rock hits, a pool table, and (gasp!) internet access! You can Yelp right there at the bar while you tip back a shot or two of Goldschlager.
If you enjoy cheap, stiff drinks, outgoing, fun bartenders, and hordes of attractive patrons, then the Reddroom definately should be at the top of your list when your on the always-exciting Elkhorn bar crawl.
