Federal Way, WA
I've been here twice now and overall I really, really like this hotel. The staff is courteous and goes the extra mile, and the complimentary breakfast is quite extensive! The beds are super comfortable and the proximity to shopping, entertainment and restaurants is unbeatable!
My only two complaints are 1) the noise from the hallway and 2) the jets in my tub didn't work. Which brings up another mini-complaint-why do they go to so much effort to be "green", then have provide a garden tub? In a state with chronic water shortages?
BUT, the positives really do outweigh the negatives and I look forward to my next visit. I just won't have a bath.1 Previous Review: Show all »

First of all before I get to why I only gave this place only two stars, let me state that the staff was super friendly and helpful and it is a clean an very attractive property. Ok now to the falling stars.....
Parking is a bit confusing at night as the property is adjacent to the mall, which is heavily populated with tow away signs. The parking lot in front of the property is quite small, with small parking spaces (not sure if the construction workers who built it were also small) and fills to capacity. Apparently the Hotel owns the ajacent mall parking lots so it's ok to park there but I propbably missed the signs that say that. The parking issue is pretty minor, as the staff will correct any misconceptions with a smile. :)
The real minus (and could have just been that particular night) was with the noise. Although the property has you sign a noise penalty policy, this supposes you can actually tell where the noise is coming from. I'm not the lightest sleeper, but basically got no sleep that night due to random door slams and other loud noises (no nocturnal woopies) that I'm only guessing was the sliding bathroom door from different rooms. Even Las Vegas isn't that bad even with the occasional noise from headboard jockeys. At least in Vegas you can go down and gamble or drink.
Price was reasonable and the staff was great so there isnt' any way I'll give it less than two stars. I would try it again someday and hopefully be able to raise the rating.

Love the facility, location, rooms are perfect for our stay. Kids love this hotel also, shopping, the pool is nice, free DVD's at the front desk. Nice business center and reasonable rates. I stay here 3-4 times a year and they have always taken great care of us! Breakfast food and staff are always very accomodating too!

This place has the most comfortable pillows I have ever laid my head on. The staff is very friendly and the environment is quiet and clean. There is a shopping center along with many restaurants that are walking distance. I have had to stay here when I travel for work and have enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay here if I traveled to San Jose for vacation.

Review from Novato A.
Novato, CA
Envision a woman yawning, her mouth agape, uvula undulating, eyes sagging--two dark half-circles making her seem a decade older than her fifty years.
Can you see her? Does she look like she had a crap's night sleep? Then yes, you are correct.
You might ask: What happened to her on Saturday night?
The answer: She stayed at the Pruneyard Plaza. This is where her Huzby stays when he's in town for business. She and Huzby were in town for their baby sister-in-law's 30th birthday. (Welcome to adulthood, Amy!)
The party at the Sonoma Chicken Coop was fun (Thanks for a great time Rich and Amy! And thanks to the Bear for finding us a cab ride home.) but the night at the Plaza was not.
Around 1:30 some fool in a fury came knocking on her door...and the neighbor's door, then her door, then the neighbors' door, then her door then...until she finally got up (naked and without a robe--she thought the hotel was supposed to provide robes) and shouted against the door, "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" She was answered by a short silence, then shouting and loud thumps. The Huzby suddenly snapped to life, called the front desk to report the infraction and promptly went back to sleep.
Minutes or perhaps hours or perhaps dream lives later, she woke up to more door knocking down the hall, more shouting, and she's not totally sure but perhaps she remembers hearing the sound of a woman being choked... TWICE...or not.
What she knows for sure is that she slept horribly last night. About that, she has no doubt.
She's also sure of this: Whatever the hell was going on last night at the Pruneyard Plaza Hotel on the third floor was COMPLETELY OUT OF HAND.
If you really need to have some $hit go down, don't do it in hotel. Does this really need to be said?
Pruneyard Plaza, thanks for your hospitality. That tired-looking woman who's eyeing the clock, thinking of bed and it's not even 9 p.m, hopes in the future you'll be a little more selective with your clientelle.
She's going with 3 stars and not two, trusting this may have been an aberration. -

The PruneYard Plaza Hotel is the ideal place to spend the night when vacationing in Campbell. It has excellent accommodations for a reasonable price. The staff is very reliable and always seem to do all they can to help the guests. Also with its location in the PruneYard and 3min away from Downtown Campbell (by walking).
Overall this is the best hotel in Campbell. -

Campbell, CA
The price was decent and the bed was super comfy. The free breakfast that was included was good but I didn't like that I had to do a formal sit down. I would have liked to grab a little food and coffee and go.
It is located in the pruneyard so there are tons of shops and restaurants in the same plaza.
I would definitely recommend this place if you need to stay in Campbell. -

Except for the spider I once saw crawling across my bedspread, I really like this hotel and hey, critters get in no matter what.
Nice little pastry at the front desk in the evening, spacious rooms, coffee and a hot breakfast available in the morning. -

Ok After staying at The Bristol, I came running back here (don't stay there). I realize this should be rated based on the area, so this place is not all that bad in my eyes now. I really shouldn't rate a place right after staying at a luxury Hotel in Vegas.
It turns out the things that bothered me were relative to that room only apparently. I am not having water pressure issues or room key issues in my new room.
The elevator is still slow as molasses however.
The new tub doesn't drown me with a crazy jet either.
The maid service is still NOT GOOD. They ignore things like one of the pillows was on a chair, they didn't change the case as requested. They leave empty water bottles and trash around and don't replace the bath salts after the first day when you use them. They don't always wipe off the counter/desk either.
The best part to me is the continental breakfast. You can take it to go, they will give you a bag and utensils. I always load up with hard boiled eggs, toast w/peanut butter, yogurt, milk and cereal, bagels and flavored cream cheeses and delicious fresh melons, banana's, oranges etc. and head out to work. The hours are 7 am to 10am weekdays and 10:30 on weekends. There is NO Starbucks as someone recently said, it's Carmel Valley Roasting Co. and it's pretty weak.
There is a cool fire pit and lounge area outside where i have met lots of cool people from all over. They have an affordable sundries counter and movies if you ask, behind the counter.
I also just found out it is a pet friendly hotel if you pay $50, which is a onetime fee per stay.
It is always jumping with people and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and stores in walking distance.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Regina S.
Just like the pictures. The price was right, and the free gas card only made my experience better. I love that there's a shopping plaza right behind the hotel, so you're walking distance from Trader Joe's wine and books from Barne's and Noble. (Yes, that's what I call an exciting night)
I enjoyed all their wonderful amenities: free Wi-Fi internet, iPod dock radio, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, and DVD library. Love it. I couldn't believe they had all these things for free. They also have free apples and coffee all day in the lobby!
The continental breakfast was pretty good, since it offered eggs and cereal. I would love liked soy milk, but that's going beyond a free breakfast. They get their coffee locally from Carmel Coffee Company. At first I thought it was so cute, but I realized that they did that because the coffee tasted fresh and delicious! I didn't even add cream and sugar. You must try, I highly recommend it.
One downfall was the thin walls. I heard my neighbors talk and shower---which totally creeped me out at the thought of them being able to hear me talk and shower. Shivers.
Overall, if they continue to entice me with free gas cards and all these great amenities, I'll make my way there again. -

Review from Beth F.
My brother-in-law and his new wife were just married at the Pruneyard Plaza Hotel this weekend, and I was immensely pleased with the venue. The hotel has a well-furnished lobby area w/ample seating and fireplaces, as well as a comfy lounge area just behind it. If you're thirsty, they stock a generously sized dispenser of chilled water near the lounge door, complete with sliced citrus floating inside.
While I didn't stay in a room, I did get the chance to step into a couple of the guests' rooms. One was a more modestly sized number with 2 beds, a bathroom, and the standard furniture. The other was more of a suite, complete with a bathroom, stove, beds, and a goodly amount of space.
The garden area is lovely as well with jasmine creeping up the sides of hotel, rosemary bushes, and other hanging plants. I'd definitely recommend the place for a more intimate, modestly sized wedding. -
Review from Robert G.
Nice hotel; surrounded by some shops, pubs and restaurants, bed is excellent, shower is a bit on the weak side.
Being European I suppose I've got a fairly high standard when it comes to hotels, not being used to American hotels the interior of the room seemed a bit dated to me.
Nevertheless, everything is clean and in working order. There's not much to choose from for breakfast, but everything that's there is great.
Would definitely book again next time I'm over. -

This hotel is a great find and an even better value. If you are in the San Jose area for business or just to spend a weekend, I don't think you can do better for the price. The free breakfast buffet is excellent -- bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, 4 different juices, etc. (only wish they had eggs). The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are extremely clean and a nice size. Also, FREE PARKING in their large lot -- you can come and go as you please. The only complaint is that their reservation staff is not very friendly on the phone, and for that reason I almost docked them a star. But all in all, I really enjoyed the experience.

I've traveled the world and worked in the travel business for many many years. I have never been treated as disrespectfully by a hotel staff as I was at the PruneYard Plaza. .
Being thoughtful and accommodating to a group of Hispanic maids, I asked in my best Spanish directions to the stairs. Not only did they correct my verb conjugation, they also spewed a slew of unsavory things to me in Spanish to my face like I wasn't w/ someone who spoke Spanish fluently!
Both mornings at breakfast we were treated like we were not supposed to be there. The breakfast crew accosted us like we had walked in from the streets and were otherwise trying to steal free food.
Despite the property being well appointed and clean and its location being perfect for my needs, we felt very uncomfortable because of the staff.
Now I wish I selected one of the other http://Hotel.com options like the Toll House, Los Gatos Lodge, Marriott, or the Town Place Suites for less. -

This was our third time staying at this hotel, this time for New Year's. This hotel meets all of my germophobe criteria, including clean floors and clean bedding. I do yoga every morning so I'm down there on the floor and I KNOW all of the dirty (excuse the pun) little secrets of hotels... and these folks pass the test.
PLUS, it's right next door to the Rock Bottom so we were able to drink and not worry about driving. I am not sure if rates are reasonable as my husband gets a discount through work- we paid $54, which in my book is EXCELLENT! I'd stay here again and I'd recommend that our out-of-town guests (particularly in-laws) stay here too!Listed in: Getaways

Review from Joel V.
Stayed at the Pruneyard after a wedding in downtown Campbell. I only live 15 minutes away, but didn't want to risk a DUI and knew I was going BIG for this one. Was able to stumble back from Villa Regusa in what felt like 10-12 minutes, but after 10 shots - it really could have been 112 minutes...
I'll give the Pruneyard a solid 4-star. The hotel is very nice, but not "stuffy." It is located in a cool little mall area with shops and restaurants. Decent rate too, $99 on a weekend. And I'm always a fan of free breakfast!
Lone complaint: WEAK shower in our room. Hardly any pressure, had to dock some pointage there. -
Review from Allison W.
Los Gatos, CA
I thought it was very odd and a little suspicious that the Pruneyard Plaza Hotel referred to their FeatherBorne® bed so frequently on EVERY page their website. What do I care about what kind of bed they use? No. Actually. YES. I NEED TO KNOW. That bed is stupidly comfortable! Totally outrageous.
Things I loved about my 2 night stay:
- FeatherBorne® bed
- Complimentary video library
- Delicious apple juice served at Continental Breakfast
Things I did not love about my 2 night stay:
- The hot tub wasn't hot--in fact, it was FREEZING (in July)!
- No towels in the pool area (the information print-out the front desk gave us promised otherwise); we had to run through the hotel wet so I guess it's not just bad for us.
- Our A/C and fan didn't work (in July).
- Our windows wouldn't open. -

OK, so why would I be staying at the Plaza when I live in Campbell.? Well occasionally the wife and I like to get out and be able to have a night on the town, catch a movie, drink some beers and not have to come home and wake the kiddies in a drunken stupor.
This hotel took great care of us on the night before our wedding and our wedding night. We had gotten the wrong room originally and they gave us a smoking room and they quickly without question changed the room because of my wife's wedding dress. good service, love the coffee and breakfast buffet in the morning. If you're ever stranded in Campbell, need a spot for a wedding, prom or just wanna stay some place snazzy, but not too far from home. This is the spot. -

Despite the odd name "PRUNEYARD", this hotel is actually pretty nice. I appreciate the fact that it's convenientally located near an outdoor shopping center and surrounded by lots of eateries.
The rooms are also very clean and the beds are comfy.
Some of the other things I like about this hotel are:
- The Lather Bamboo Creme Hair Wash
- The Bamboo creme' Moisturizer
- Tazo Teas in the bedrooms, Coffee Maker, Fridge etc.
- Complimentary Green Applies and Cookies at the Front Desk
- Friendly Staff.
- Colored Printers in the Business Center with free internet use.
- Complimentary Starbucks in the lobby with flavored creams
- Complimentary Video DVD Library
- IPOD Dock in the rooms
- Complimentary wireless internet for special customers like me (We get a lot of perks with my job. lol)
- The Continental Breakfast in the morning complete with different flavored cream cheese and friendly wait staff.
I have no cause for complaints. I was a happy camper. :) -

Another wedding venue we looked at. It's right down the street from our house too!
It's a beautiful hotel, (another Larkspur.)
Unfortunately, for the number of people we're having, we could only have an outdoor reception.
Not what we're looking for, but it is still a nice venue.
The ceremony site is lovely, and everyone there was very nice.
There prices are fairly reasonable, if a bit high for what it is. Although, it is a great location! -

Two things:
1. Pruneyard plaza hotel is NOT easy to find. Expect to drive around parking lots, searching this place out (if you are sans-GPS that is). Expect to call the hotel for help, and receive vague if not incorrect advice. That being said, expect to be treated very well once you do arrive. In addition, you may find the location pleasantly convenient, as Pruneyard is located near a little outdoor shopping mall with restaurants and boutiques.
2. Pruneyard might be nicer than your average hotel/motel, but my room did not look like the one in the picture posted on this site by a fellow yelper. No way, that picture looks fabulous. We had a slightly larger than average hotel room with the typical layout. For our special wedding-block rate of $125 it was very nice, but nothing spectacular. -

WOW!! just been there recently. There beds are so comfortable and big, i loved it. Clock with Iphone charger, nice jacuzzi. The room is bit expensive but it was in my budget. Only drawback was TV. They should better TV with movies inside there to rent it. Rest i don't think there is any con.

This place is beautiful: from the exterior to the lobby to the rooms. I wasn't staying there, a friend was, so I didn't pay nor did I speak to the concierges so I can't really speak about the service. From what I saw it's in a good area, has an abundance of parking, and is clean and upper scale. I would definitely stay there in the future.

I love surprises, especially from my boyfriend. We're both very close with each other, and often don't find enough time to fully relax.
After scoring tickets to the Sharks Game, my boyfriend waits patiently at the BART station while I take the hour and a half ride from San Francisco. It's a jolly good time, trying not to fall asleep. Upon arrival, I am greeted with kisses, and off we go.
I had no idea he had been planning such a romantic weekend. We pull into The Pruneyard, and I'm thinking we're just going to grab a bite to eat or risk falling asleep in the parking lot. So he leads me toward the hotel, my face in deep shock, we ride the elevator up, and what do I see?
THE PENTHOUSE SUITE! Huge! Immaculate! Fireplace! Deck! Spa and sauna bathtub and shower combined! HIs and her sinks! HUGE BED (king of course!). I'm all smiles and notice 6 roses on the bed, one for each month we have been together.
The Lather brand bath products are super luxurious, and the hairdryer has a nifty little cord that doesn't get in the way when I brushed my teeth. The bed was super comfortable, and the fireplace kept me warm enough to warrant no clothing for most of the stay.
The continental breakfast was just that, although I could have done with a little more selection on the cereals. The complimentary DVD rentals were a hit, although we did fall asleep because the game started at 7:30pm.
The Sharks won, I left with a gorgeous hunk of man still in my arms, and fully relaxed.
Thanks, S. -

I had a good experience staying at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, the rates are cheap, the rooms all have free internet, and the hotel serves free breakfast and afternoon cookies. It is also pretty charming in its decor. Only thing that went wrong was that they neglected to deliver my morning newspaper, though that's easy to remedy.

Really nice hotel, especially for the price. I got in pretty late and was dead tired, and the guy who checked me in was sympathetic and quick. Rooms are clean and quiet, except for the air conditioner - bothered my companion but not me. The free breakfast was decent, the pool and hot tub a nice touch. I liked the decor in the lobby, especially the old-style telephone with a cleverly-designed touch tone pad (want one for my house!) Lots of goodies available in the lobby depending on the hour, like coffee in the morning, cookies in the afternoon, DVD library at night. Oh and I really like it when hotels supply good shampoo AND conditioner.

totally cozy. close to all kinds of stuff. My girlfriend LOVES the Lather bamboo shampoos they give you. Coffee pots, dryers, internet, everything is perfect. The front desk is so helpful and even mailed my netflix back for me. Oh yeah, DVD players in the room too. Barnes and Noble and Trader Joes in the same parking lot. AMAZINGLY perfect.
I'm not sure of the price cause my job paid.
the beds and pillows are so soft and amazing.
My favorite thing is they participate in the Project Planet program. Save the earth ya'll. -

I absolutely love this Hotel. We have stayed here a total of 3 times and I love it every time. Location is awesome, you park check in and walk to any eatery or to the movies, ice-cream. You name it it is within walking distance. The icing on top of this cake is we just stayed there a week ago for our anniversary and when we checked out I left my wedding rings on the night stand. When I realized it the next morning I was so upset that on my anniversary I lost my engagement ring and wedding band. I called the hotel and they found them and put them in a safe. I was so relieved. Thank you to housekeeping and the awesome hardworking Honest employees!!! I will always choose this Hotel when I want to get away. It may cost more but it is well worth it!!!!!!!! Love this Place highly recommend this Hotel!!

Review from A in Pleasant H.
Pleasant Hill, CA
This is a mixed review. 3.5 stars would be my selection if possible.
Staff was very helpful and accomodating. Phone reservations, check-in, a maid in the hallway, the waiter in the breakfast service room. Everyone went the distance, little extra.
Had a deluxe room. Room was nice. Nice big bed, fairly comfortable. Nice desk, but no phone on desk? The phone handset in my room was dead - but I think that's due to prior guest not inserting in cradle properly.
Awkward bathroom. Nicely appointed - big jacuzzi tub, nice fixtures on the vanity. Really nice soaps and shampoos. Good towels. But small vanity with little room for toiletries. Weird timer on light - I think the fixture formerly was a heat lamp. Tiny toilet located behind the door - very awkward to step inside room, close door, just to access toilet. Giant jacuzzi is nice, but felt risky getting in and out just to shower - they should install grab bars. Non-skid bottom of tub had some ground in dirt, probably impossible to clean.
Noisy old fashioned heater under window ran all night. Weird textured walls with many seams, etc made me think they'd been patched multiple times. Small, tube-TV with poor channel selection and mediocre reception. No TV services such as PPV movies or checkout. In room DVD player is nice thought for those who bring movies or want to visit the movie library at the front desk.
Free continental breakfast was nice. Sparse selection of fruit, but that's too nitpicky when its free. Cereal, muffins, bagels, coffee, juice.
I stayed there because regular choices in area were all sold out - I'd consider staying there again. And, I really want to emphasize that every staff member I talked to was excellent - intent on making me a happy customer. -

Attractive hotel, quiet, friendly staff, they have a dvd library and dvd player in your room. Some more expensive rooms have high ceilings, a fire place and spa tub. Very romantic. It costs less on the weekend. I was very pleased with this hotel. the worst thing was trying to find the ice machine LOL which really wasn't that bad, just more of a maze type thing. very clean and wonderful bath products.

Nothing to complain about. Except it is a little hard to find because it is off the road a bit and behind another bldg. First class service and so worth the money. I loved the atmosphere when I first walked in. This is a Larkspur hotel and for the rate of $190.00 for the spa tub, king bed and fireplace, I was ecstatic! The only problem we encountered was requesting tableware. Went to the local Whole Foods Market and purchased a bunch of groceries. We called down to room service and they said they could only provide us with plasticware.
