I went on a ghost tour here with my friend and he had an experience on the tour!! Really!! I was also present during the shooting of the interviews done for the tv show Ghosthunters. The people were not making things up, they really had experiences.

Proprietary House was once the residence of the last royal governor of NJ, William Franklin. He was a Tory, loyal to King George. His dad, Benjamin Franklin, disowned him for not being a revolutionary and supporting independence!  William Franklin was arrested for his loyalty to the crown on the front steps of this place during the revolution! They do a reenactment of it annually. My friend believed that he had an experience on our tour because he was mentally telling off the portrait of William Franklin, so he must have summoned a ghost!

The interior is in original disrepair and the place is available to rent for parties! Its very cool. A really great ghost tour. They also have a lovely afternoon tea with cakes!

This place is AWESOME! allegedly haunted, this place was once home of William Franklin, son of Benjamen Franklin. Preserved in its original state tours can be given on certain days (not sure off the top of my head what days). It is the oldest proprietary house in the US and only one still standing in original condition. There are ghost tours given as well. Again not sure what days. Check it out.
