159 reviews for The Professionals Inc Moving Specialists
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
I don't mind changing where I live, I do mind moving. Well to be honest I hate moving, don't we all hate it? Gone are the days of me being able to pack up in a few hours and have some friends over to load up a rented truck, unpack that night and wake up in the new place like nothing happened.
This move was epic and thanks to the flexibility of the Professionals we able to avert disaster. I called them up got a good estimate and booked a move day. Based on what I thought we had we booked a medium truck, the move was booked just a few days ahead of the actual move.
This is where we got lucky, we started to pack and pack and pack, remember I said "epic" well we determined that a medium truck was a pipe dream. We called the Professionals up and told them of our dilemma and luckily they were able to provide us with a large truck, and a additional guy on short notice. Otherwise, we'd have to reschedule and be sitting around are house with boxes all about.
The move:
On time
They hustled (big time)
Priced right
Nothing broken or lost
The end result:
I'm one happy camper that no longer fears moving. Thank you.
Moving is never fun, and finding movers can be half the challenge. We originally contemplated going it alone, but it's just a pain. We got a variety of quotes from different companies, and The Professionals' was on the lower end but still had good reviews, so we went with them.
All in all, the move went fine. Our stuff was moved from one location to the next. Only one lamp was broken beyond repair, and they gave us a little money off for it. They wrapped all of our stuff, and they didn't charge us for tape, which was nice. So, it was a decent job.
It was not exceptional, though, for a few reasons. First, the quote was well off of what we actually were charged. (We paid roughly twice what we were quoted.) That would not have been so bad if half of our boxes had ended up in the correct places. Following their lengthy instructions and just good moving code, I carefully labeled all of my boxes with the rooms they were intended for, as well as special notes such as "fragile." I think due to a language barrier, there was some confusion as to where items should go. Normally, this is not a problem, but we moved into a loft. After paying twice what we were quoted, I was forced to carry approximately 10 boxes of varying weight up the stairs myself, and all of them were clearly labeled either "Bedroom" or "Upstairs," if not both.
I'm not a huge stickler for details, but if you are going to charge a several hundred dollars for service, please don't make me do extra work!
In March of last year, I used The Professionals based on a friend's recommendation. I was told they were fast and fairly priced. That was definitely the case. We had a great crew who was extra careful with our belongings and super efficient. They were friendly and professional and willing to work with us on anything we needed.
Flash forward to September when we made another move. Since we had such a great experience with The Professionals the first time, there was no question we would book them again. We were able to get an appointment at 5:30pm on a Sunday evening.
When the crew showed up, it was clear we were going to have serious communication issues. The guy who appeared to be the head of the threesome spoke fairly broken English and the other two didn't appear to understand a word I said. Still, I didn't feel this would be an issue since this company was so good at what they did.
I walked through with the lead and asked him very specifically to be very gentle with several pieces. As they began packing the truck, it became obvious these were not the same caliber movers as the first group. They did not seem to be concerned about the well-being of our property, including the pieces I pointed out specifically as fragile. While the movers in my first experience were so careful about wrapping everything and anything that may break, this particular team didn't seem to think it was important to wrap wood furniture that could very easily be scratched. When we had to instruct them to wrap fragile items, it still didn't get done. Things were not handled carefully, and minor damage occurred to several of our pieces and the wall in the condo out of which we moved.
Now, I'm guessing these fellas were tired and over the day, as we were their third move. Still, in my opinion, that is no excuse for being rude and ignoring customer requests. When they did inevitably cause damage to our unwrapped wood pieces, they didn't seem to be remotely concerned.
I immediately called the company to file a complaint. And I have to say, The Professionals has stellar customer service. From making appointments to any follow-up issues, their customer service reps are very nice, very helpful, and very understanding. My complaint was handled quickly and to my satisfaction.
I'm pretty sure I would use The Professionals again, despite this experience. Between the customer service and the fantastic job the first crew did, I'm thinking this was just a freak occurrence. I've even recommended them to friends since this happened.
I will say this, if I do use them again in the future, I will be sure to only book the first appointment of the day. I don't want tired movers. I want movers who are fresh and ready-to-go.
I've used the professional twice. 1 move was from a walk up into storage, the other was from the storage and a high-rise into a mid-rise. Both times the guys did a great job. They made it clear up front what they were going to charge for (only shrink-wrap) and you have the option to turn it down for blankets. They don't charge for tape, so both moves I had no extra fees. They actually did shrink-wrap some items but didn't charge me for them which was very nice.
The guys were polite and worked fast, and most importantly, did not break a single thing either time. They worked quickly and efficiently and came in under the estimates. I definitely recommend them.
These are by far the best movers I have ever worked with, and I've worked with a few (5 moves in 5 years -- I don't recommend it!).
Here's my two cents:
1) They showed up EARLY. Yes, early. They called and asked if we were available and then came right on over. It was moving serendipity.
2) They were UNDER their incredibly reasonable estimate. UNDER THE ESTIMATE!!! (That never has happened to me before -- it made my whole week)
All of our stuff arrived in great condition, super fast and for much less than I expected to spend. Not to mention I enjoyed hanging out with our crew -- they were funny and interesting.
I can't recommend The professionals Movers highly enough.
I found The Professionals here on Yelp, and hired them for my last move. Five stars isn't enough, they deserve 10 out of 5 stars, they are so off-the-chart fantastic!
Hila, on the phone, was so knowledgeable and helpful and funny, and the movers were so incredibly fast and careful with all of my stuff, it seemed like magic to me. But I know it was their dedication and hard work.
The final bill was so low, I mean it was 1/6 of what it's been in previous moves. I tipped them 50%, and felt like maybe that wasn't even enough. They are amazing.
Thanks Yelpers!!!!
Basically as quick and efficient as you would want from movers.
Notes:
They can arrive early. They came hours early for us. That can be good or bad, but just be ready.
Also, the plastic wrap that they use to protect your furniture is not free. It is nice and helps a bit I think. Just ask for the cost beforehand.
Definitely would use again.
I almost want to pack up my entire home again, and hire The Professionals just to give them more business. Talk about a company that is doing everything right.
I searched Yelp looking for everyone's best suggestions for the top-notch local movers and The Professionals definitely made the top 5. After having the exhausting task of calling a few companies and giving them a run-down of everything I own, it was an easy decision to make. The Professionals were not only the most efficient over the phone, but also the friendliest and they estimated about $100 less than their competition.
They showed up right on time and all three of the guys were so nice and wait for it....professional. They moved my entire apartment (including driving 3 miles in traffic) in 3 hours. They were right on with their estimated price and I got out of there spending less than $450 (including tip). Nothing was damaged and everything was put in it's new home. Now...all I have to do is unpack, good grief.
The biggest perk: they supply 10 wardrobe boxes for free. Did you hear me??? FREE. And this lady has a lot of clothes, so I found it most helpful.
I hate moving. We all do. Its a friend killer. Asking them to help you move is a sure way to make yourself broke with all the lunches you have to buy, put yourself in a debt for when they want to move, (and why would you want to do that?), and make life miserable. No more! I didn't want do to this to myself nor torture anyone else anymore, so after researching and reading some of my now neighborhood neighbors reviews, (hi Amanda C!!), I chose The Professionals and me, my back and my friends couldn't have been happier.
When I called Mike, we talked about how much I had, some things I possibly needed and the biggest point the cost. Let's consider how much time it would have taken for me and three friends to do this job, easily four hours. Mike quoted me two and a half. He quoted me $270 for the entire job and much less back strain on my own. Okay. Let's do it.
Day of moving. Nerves of anticipation and wanting to get this day over with, check. At about 10:45am I get a phone call from Don. They are done with the first move and was wondering if I was ready for them to come early to start my move. EARLY!!!! When they showed up, we went through the details, all the stuff I was moving and the situation. What happened? Well these guys move faster than I could have imagined. I was packing up my own SUV for some smaller more personal stuff and I couldn't keep up. They were flying through all my stuff faster than I could blink. They were cautious about the walls, making sure not to ding or dent as much as possible and at the same time making sure they were taking all that I wanted them to take.
They were supposed to be there between 12pm and 1pm, they got there at 11am. I was in my new place, everything off of the truck at 1:30pm. My cost? On point with $270. I couldn't be happier nor more relieved. Friendly, efficient, on point with costs and careful with my bajillion items. Next time I move, (which who knows when that will be?!), I am calling these guys again with out hesitation.
I hate moving, like all normal people. But we had to escape our landlord (six months with an enormous hole/leak in the ceiling? not cool) so we embarked upon yet another move. Since we like our friends and want to keep them, we decided to pay someone to move our stuff.
We only needed them to move our furniture (plus, um, three banker's boxes), so they gave us an estimate of 2 1/2 hours (the minimum). Since it was raining (and our landlord decided to shellac the back stairs last week, so they were basically deadly), and since a few of our pieces are REALLY heavy, I was prepared for it to take a little longer. They were done in like an hour and a half. It was awesome.
After they got to the new apartment, they put everything exactly where I wanted it, unwrapped everything, and reassembled our crappy particle board furniture. They also took really good care of my one nice piece of furniture - an antique dresser from my mom's house. That thing got shrink-wrapped like crazy, and arrived without a scratch. Actually, so did everything else, even though I declined shrink-wrapping on everything except the mattress and the dresser. Sweet.
I remember reading a review that they use a lot of tape. That's true (seriously, a LOT of tape), but they didn't charge me for any of it.
I picked this company based on its Yelp reviews, and it was a good choice. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and were very friendly. These guys are the best. And I am never moving my own furniture again.
Yelp saved my sanity. When faced with the prospect of moving on a Tuesday and the knowledge that my last move made all the people who know me say "uhhh, can't help you, washing my hair," I knew I was going to have to call in the big guns. And nearly everyone told me "Use the Professionals." I did, and I am so glad I did.
My estimate: four to four and a half hours and $405.00-$450.00 (no shrink wrap included).
My cost: $422.50 INCLUDING shrink wrap, and they finished in three hours and forty-five minutes.
They brought wardrobe boxes, were super pleasant, on-time (showed up at 7:59 a.m. when scheduled to arrive between 8-8:30), very gently with my things, and even nice to my cat. (My mad-looking cat, they did comment.)
I will use the Professionals again, and I am on their fan train. They truly made moving a breeze. Thanks to yelp and all those who recommended this bunch.
166 Yelp Reviews can't be wrong! I'm proud to add my voice to this choir.
Our three-man crew from The Professionals moved our furniture from Evanston to Rogers Park a couple of weeks ago. They arrived on time to begin the 2.5 hours allotted for the move, and finished an hour early, smiling all the while. The furniture arrived without incident, save for a scary moment where we weren't sure if the couch would fit through our front door.
We came in under the previously established estimate and spent about $400 (with tip.) Money well spent, I think.
Moving is hell. We all know that. But think of The Professionals as a bunch of folks to pull you out of a foxhole and help you dodge the bullets that come with packing all your stuff up and lugging it to your next home.
These movers are excellent. The move took less time than expected, cost less money than we were quoted, and went very smoothly considering we came upon a storage room full of stuff we'd forgotten to tell them about towards the end of things. Oops. Everyone who was moving our stuff was friendly, careful, and speedy. None of our things were broken, not even the items that we more tossed into a box than actually packed.
I'd recommend them to basically anybody. Our only problem was that they were early, and we weren't ready yet. Early is better than late, though, and they waited patiently for us, so it wasn't much of a problem after all.
I can't believe I haven't reviewed The Professionals yet! They are an absolutely amazing moving company. The girl whose apartment I was moving into suggested them - I was a little hesitant, but after reading some fellow yelpers reviews, I decided to go ahead with them. Best decision of my life. The move was awesome! I had my mom with me just to make sure everything went okay and she couldn't stop raving about how impressed she was with them. I would definitely recommend them!
I've waited very long to Yelp this. I have struggled with how properly to rate and discuss our experience.
We filled out the website thing and received our estimate. $270. Based on Yelp reviews, I realized we'd be realllly lucky to actually only pay $270.
The movers showed up and got to work on wrapping couches in plastic and moving totes to the truck. The minute they showed up at 4:58pm, the torrential rain started. I bet that slowed them up a bit. I mean it was a very lovely day that morning and afternoon, in the high 70s and then they showed up and it was down to 58 and by the end of the evening it was 42. It was a crappy day.
The Professionals were really moving, I mean flying when they first got there. I thought we'd be done in 2.5 hours based on how fast they started. After 2.5 hours, we were still at the original apartment. Oh lord.
We made it to the new place at 7:45p. They started to move everything in and were really slowing down. I walked into the bedroom and noticed 3 out of 4 of my picture frames were shattered. The youngest noticed me looking at it and said he accidentally stepped on them.
Last but not least the sofa needed to make it up the stairs. The movers couldn't get up the back or front stairs. One of the movers asked if we'd like them to pull it up the back stairs. Sure, whatever will get it up here.
Done! I noticed a coaster was on the counter when those were packed in a tote. I picked it up as the lead mover wanted to talk numbers. He starts off by saying that he discussed the move with his guys and based on "all the damage," and the fact it costs $180 to move the sofa by pulling, we'll call it even and not charge you for the pulling sofa but you can't claim the damage. He told us several times if we took this offer, we couldn't call the main office on Monday and report the damage. I said something like, "all the damage?"
This is when he tells me they dropped a tote by improperly stacking them together and my expensive body scale shattered. No one told me when it happened! Had I not asked, I'd still be looking for that scale!
I said fine. Total bill was $500. Wow, not even close to the estimate. I'll try someone else next time, hopefully there won't be another move for awhile.
I have made moving my business in Chicago. I've lived here 5 years and have moved 4 of them. I will tell you, this company was AWESOME from beginning to end.
I called and talked with wonderfully friendly office staff who made sure everything was in order and gave me a confirmation call the business day before to just make sure everything was right.
On the day of the move, 3 very nice guys showed up with the wonders of all moving: a thing they call "wardrobe boxes." These were a miracle. The move out wasn't hard--that was one floor. The move in to the new place was up 3 flights and, let me tell ya, they *hauled*. The entire move took just about 3 hours (but for a pretty packed 1 bedroom, I thought that was amazing) and they never rested! At one point I wanted to ask them to slow down.
The actual total came in under the estimate and I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. Nothing broken, no "victims" of the move. It was just great.
Little tip: They don't take personal check...so cash or money order only. And I'd suggest tipping in cash if you can to ensure that your movers see the money they will always deserve.
I couldn't more highly recommend this group (although I hope not to see them for awhile).
The admin staff and movers were both great do deal with. Online quote process was simple and easy. Price was reasonable.
On the day of the move, Fabio and crew arrived right on time and helped pack up all the odds and ends before the elevator time started in my building. Everything made it onto the truck. They were so fast and curteous that our doorstaff asked for their card.
Unloading at the new place was a breeze. Everything arrived in tact and we were just under the time estimate as well.
Help take the stress out of your move and book The Professionals.
I chose these guys to do my 1 bedroom to studio move because of the Yelp reviews and because of their pleasantly low quote (hundreds less than some of the other places). They did an awesome job, smiling the whole time despite the rain and an unexpected obstacle parked in front of my new apartment's freight elevator. Even with these glitches, they came in right around the projected total, were careful with my stuff and incredibly efficient and friendly. What should have/could have been a nightmarish day was instead a breezy few hours. Hire them!
I hate moving!
Let me start the review with that phrase. However, my new place is amazing and worth endearing the horrible process called moving. That's when the Professionals Inc Moving Specialists came into play. You didn't actually think I would move my junk. Nope! I hired movers, the same movers I used the prior time I moved. I wanted to try them one more time because I really couldn't remember how well or bad a job they did last time. Fortunately, I have the pleasure of saying they were great.
First, I spoke to Elena at their home office and she quoted me a price that was fair for the amount of stuff we were moving and the amount of time it would take, truck was included in quote.
The day of the move the movers called and asked if they could start earlier than scheduled, we were excited, more time to unpack afterwards. We had three movers who were extremely nice and quite. That was one of the bad parts, the fact that I think ten words at most were exchanged and lots of pointing, maybe a language barrier. However, even though the weather wasn't great they moved everything and broke nothing. The overall move came in under the estimated budget which made us happy.
Side note: They don't tell you in the estimate that they add an additional 1/4 hour to the bill to clean and organize their truck after the move. I didn't like that and argued a little bite.
Overall, four star service and will use them again, but hopefully no time soon.
Everything went well. I didn't have a ton of stuff to move, but they were quick and professional. As others have mentioned, English was not their first language, but that has no impact on their ability to work and they could understand me with no problems.
I priced a few places, and they came out the cheapest for a 2 1/2 hour move.
Showed up on time, didn't break anything, answered all my questions before, and didn't go over the estimate.
Would use them again!
The Professionals moved me into my new condo *today*
The arrival time was scheduled between 8-8:30am. They showed up at 7:45am to park the truck and check out exactly what I needed moved. My estimate was 4-4.5 hours with three men to move from my 11th floor apt to my first floor walk up condo......approximately $450.
They finished the move in 3.5 hours and it cost $420 with boxes and shrink wrapped stuff (which costs extra per item). The tape was no charge per the customer service rep I spoke to on the phone when making my reservation. I gave them a big tip for all their hard work. My highrise apt is a craphole with terrible elevators. They made the move as painfree as possible.
**They even called the day before to confirm time and addresses!!!!
The movers were fast, efficient, polite, professional and very pleasant. I would DEFINATELY recommend them!!
I've moved 3 times with these guys! They are amazing! Less than 3 hours and DONE. DONE, DONE, DONE. I moved from a 1st floor to a 3rd floor, from a 3rd floor to a first floor. Then, we hired them again to move someone in to my place...2nd floor to first. Less than 3 hours each time, I swear. They are so careful AND SOOO hardworking. I always have to force them to stop and get a drink.
I am a leasing agent and ALWAYS recommend them to my clients!
So as usual, I'd left the thing I wanted to do least for last - in my case, that was finding movers to get my office out of its office building and into my home. And by last, I mean really last. I called on a Monday, and moved on the following Thursday.
The Professionals were top-notch, from the moment I called. The quote was ready immediately (and it was dead on, which in my book gets bonus points), everything was scheduled and confirmed within about 2 hours, and the guys showed up right when they said they would on the day of the move. (Although the woman i spoke to on the phone did warn me that they could be up to 2 hours earlier, so I was prepared for that eventuality.)
There were 3 guys who did the actual moving. They were friendly, careful, and efficient, despite many, many stairs and corners to work around.
Can't say enough good things - overall, the experience was positive, and I'm happy to recommend the Professionals again.
AMAZING. Really.
I can't say anything that hasn't been said. On time, efficient, friendly, didn't whine once (not when they had to go up and down 6 flights of stairs to get us out of our old apartment, not when they had to hoist the box spring to the roof in our new place, not when they had to bring a sofa over the balcony, not when they put together and took apart furniture that we forgot to), super-human strength, fairly priced, helpful, courteous. Everything you would want in a moving company.
USE THEM. You won't be sorry.
We've moved with these guys twice, and hopefully will never have to see them ever again. That's more of a wish for our own prosperity in our new digs than a slam on their service. The crew we got most recently was amazingly efficient and very friendly. I was absolutely floored by how quickly they cleared out our old place and set back up at the new. Even better? It was totally reasonably priced. You can't beat the service we got for the price tag - I would recommend them for any of my friends or family looking to move, as well as the Yelp community.
It's true what everyone says. They made a potentially horrific experience into a totally chill 2 hour jaunt. Love them.
Once again, a 5-star review for these guys. They are the real deal.
Everyone has heard horror stories about movers. A friend of mine who moved to New York (and did not use The Professionals but a different company) actually had items (including some jewelery) stolen from her. I've heard stories about broken drinking glasses, smashed picture frames, torn sofas, things dropped in mud puddles, etc. I have used The Professionals twice now and have had a completely wonderful, pain-free experience both times.
I moved last weekend from my old digs in Hyde Park to my new place about 10 minutes north. The quote process was quick and easy through their website and by email and the movers were scheduled to arrive around 8am. I woke up extra early to get ready and was taking some stuff out to the dumpster when I saw the truck coming down the alley. It was 8:03. You can't be much more on time than that.
The three guys who did the loading and unloading were professional, friendly and really quick. They knew their job, wrapped up the furniture carefully, and had everything out of my old place in about 2 hours or a little less. We arrived at my new place and quickly unloaded. The whole process took roughly 3.5 hours, nothing was damaged, and they placed everything in the new apt where my girlfriend asked them to.
In the end the price was only $345, well under the estimate and worth every penny. I gave each guy a decent tip for their hard work and wished I had more to give them because they did an awesome job. When I moved to my first place back around 2002, I moved myself with help from my parents and it completely sucked, even though I was moving to a place with a service elevator. I was sore for days afterwards and swore off self moves. After two happy subsequent experiences with The Professionals, I'm never putting my back through that hell again.
I really hope I don't have to move again anytime soon but if I do, I know who I'll be contacting to move my stuff.

I've heard all kinds of horror stories about movers, so I did my research and found these guys… Read more »
FANTASTIC! They were right on time, we're talking 8:29am when they said 8:30am. They were polite, and extremely fast. This was the best moving experience I have ever had. To move my one bedroom courtyard, first floor walk up to a one bedroom high rise took them 1.5 hours. It was amazing. For sure go with these guys, you will not regret it.
We chose The Professionals based on the great reviews here and based on their reasonable estimates for packing/moving/unpacking services. We were EXTREMELY disappointed.
They may be ok as movers only, but whatever you do, do NOT hire them for packing!
We were moving out of a 2BR/2BA place. We were quoted 7.5 hours for packing, moving, and unpacking (and this was after I gave them an extremely detailed inventory of our place). Well, JUST packing up our old place and loading the truck took more time than the entire estimate! We eventually had to tell them to leave a bunch of stuff at our old place to deal with ourselves later because an hour before our elevator time ended at the new place there was still a lot unpacked.
Several times throughout the day two of the movers would disappear for extended periods of time doing god knows what (certainly nothing related to our move). They spent exorbitant amounts of time wrapping every piece of furniture in 20 layers of saran wrap (at a charge of $10/item) until we noticed and told them not to wrap certain items). They also used WAY more tape than is necessary, which I wouldn't care about except they charge per roll of tape. Another way they sucked at packing is that they would use about 5 sheets of paper for every single item packed, which took more time than needed.
They took so long to pack and move us in that we told them to forget about unpacking and we'd do it ourselves. So we payed several hundred more than our estimate for 2/3 the work they were supposed to do. Awesome.
Oh, and did I mention they removed the front door at our old place to get a couch through (after I'd told them the couch didn't fit down that stairwell), and when they put it back on it didn't close right? So we now have to pay to fix that.
Will NOT be using them again. Never use these people for packing services.
I needed to move my elderly mother from a studio in one high rise to a one bedroom nearby in the South Loop, and I needed to do it two days after the decision was made. Neither my mother nor I had touched a *thing* -- we needed packing from square one. I called Elaina on Monday for my Wednesday move, and we had a detailed conversation on the telephone. She gave me an estimate and sent a confirmation email right away. On Wednesday morning the guys showed up and immediately there was a glitch: they didn't know they were both moving AND packing. I looked at the foreman and his two young foreign-born cohorts and thought, "Uh-oh." I could not have been more wrong. That slight misstep was the only problem, and they handled it right away by calling for more supplies, which were delivered without adding additional time.
From the moment they arrived, the three men leaped into action, and they could not have done a better job. Don, the foreman, was obviously extremely experienced. He told me later he had more than twenty years in the business, and I believe him. He found the best, more convenient and efficient way to do everything. The two tall young men packed very well, and did NOT overpack. When I unpacked dishes, they had done everything so as to minimize waste and yet protect our property. There was none of this "nine-pieces-of-paper-when-one-will-do" nonsense. The move ended precisely on time and at the estimated price for labor and materials used. My only misgiving was that I would have tipped them twice as much if I could have afforded it. I could not have been happier with the work they did and wouldn't think of calling anyone but The Professionals in the future!
I was quoted five hours; they did it in three. The price was $90 per hour for three guys plus $45 for the truck. I moved from a first floor to a second floor about five miles away. I had most everything in a good location for them, and I had about forty boxes but really didn't have a lot of furniture... They would carry three boxes at once sometimes! I was worried about the weight of every single box.
I kept telling them they were amazing; they kept telling me it was an easy move. I tipped them $20 each and will recommend them to everyone who ever tells me they are moving.
Packing destroyed my soul but the movers were the magic that helped resurrect me.
I wish all these years I had hired movers instead of torturing my friends and family with my multiple moves. The Professionals were awesome - the entire process was completely painless and I would use them again without hesitation.
The online quote system was simple and easy to use, I had a reply within hours and a signed contract by the next day. They call every customer the night before their move to calm any nerves/stress - nice touch. The movers arrived 5-10 minutes early and hustled their behinds off shrink-wrapping and loading the truck, and were very courteous and professional.
One hour and 43 minutes after they arrived, the emptied truck pulled away from my new place. Let me repeat - they moved my entire apartment from Bucktown to Hyde Park in 103 minutes. Amazing. Not one scratch or any damage. The final bill came in exactly where I anticipated it would per their quote, and frankly it wasn't much more than I'd paid in the past at U-Haul to move my stuff myself. Shweet.
These guys are the shiznit!!!!
I never used professional movers before so I was searching for the right people for a number of days. I looked on Yelp and saw this was highly rated and had a great number of reviews. I called for a quote on Sunday and told them I needed to move today, 12/30/08. They gave me a pretty solid quote which was very affordable. The scheduled time was 8:30 and they showed up at 8 (no complaints from me). They got to work and 2.5 hours later (The quote was 3.5 hours) my stuff was moved and reassembled.
Seiafin, Silvester & David worked really fast and were really nice. They were even able to withstand my constant babbling while they were taking care of my stuff. They really wrapped my things up perfectly and nothing was damaged.
I highly recommend The Professionals, because thats exactly what they are! Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping me find these guys!
This was the best moving experience ever. I was amazed at how fast and thorough these guys were. On top of that, we had a complicated moving situation where we had to move furniture out a second floor bedroom window, and move to a third floor apartment. These guys got all our heavy furniture to their destination with efficiency and grace. One guy even carried our tall dresser on his back all the way to the top floor with all drawers still in! Thank you Jorge, Hector and Tobias!
We used this company in May after consulting Yelp before calling ANY companies. They worked with me again and again as I kept changing the days of the move due to issues with the closing dates on multiple real estate closings..(I worked with Mike)
The showed up EXACTLY on time, to the minute. They were fast. Super fast. In fact we got to the next place more than an hour before schedule, which worked out just fine for me. It was over so fast I couldn't believe it.
They packed and protected and super protected everything. Nothing broke. Would recommend and would use again and again though I hope to not actually have to use them for quite some time...
Unfortunately, I'm becoming a professional at moving....fortunately, I have The Professionals by my side! I've moved over four times in the last 2 years (hey, I'm new to Chicago, you can't blame me for my inability to choose the neighborhood where I'd like to settle down!) and The Professionals have assisted with every move. The moving crew is always friendly and fast. They tend to over estimate and it's always nice to pay significantly less at the end of the move.

The Professionals are outstanding. Even the woman on the phone for estimating/scheduling was so nice and helpful. Then, on moving day (a week ago) Seraphin and two more guys arrived 20 minutes early (no complaints here!). They worked extremely quickly, but carefully, and were courteous and friendly. I will definitely use them again!
The actual cost of the move was about $200 less than the estimate, and I was happy to tip the guys well.
I went with The Professionals Inc based entirely on yelp reviews and I wasn't let down.
These were very good movers. Prior to the move date, the staff was responsive, communicative, friendly and professional which made me feel very at ease. Three days prior to the move, I had to push the date back one day and they were very accommodating. After reading the reviews and realizing that how behind I was in preparing for the move, I figured that it would be just my luck that they would be early. However, I wasn't expecting two and a half hours early. I know that in a perfect world I should have been more prepared and been ready early, but I still feel like it was a bit excessive. I didn't get any warning and didn't have time to sequester my cats properly which caused a bit of anxiety in the end.
Anyways, the movers were fantastic and everything went really well. The three guys were friendly, fast and very careful with my stuff. They shrink-wrapped the hell out of a bunch of my furniture and I was glad for it. The free wardrobe boxes were awesome and it meant I didn't have to pack up my closet.
All in all, I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who wants good, reliable, reasonably priced movers. Just remember to have everything ready far in advance!
I can't say enough good things about these movers. They were super duper professional. When they showed up they went over everything with me. They were very thorough with everything from breaking down my bed, shrink wrapping my mattresses, secured items I had packed myself, they even packed my clothes in a wardrobe box from their own supplies. The whole move took an hour start to finish. They are very careful with all your items I was referred to them by a friend and I just referred them to someone else.
I will never move anything by myself again they will be the first people I call when I need to move. The office staff is very professional as well. I worked with Adam he was very thorough with me.
They totally ROCK!!!!
Professional Movers did a great job with my move this fall. They were picking stuff up from my storage unit and taking it to my new condo. They arrived early/on-time, loaded my stuff promptly, and delivered it into the new place expertly!
The total time ended up being less than their estimate, and the guys working with me did a great job. I'd definitely use them again in a future move.
